Michaels is scheduled to appear in the final boardroom evaluation against fellow finalist Holly Robinson Peete. “We’re cautiously optimistic that he will attend the finale. But ultimately, it’s up to his doctors.” Since his hospitalization on Thursday, his rep told The Associated Press that Michaels has been moved to an outpatient care facility; no further details were released. After suffering from a brain hemorrhage last month, Michaels reportedly complaining of numbness on the left side of his body in his face and hands yesterday, doctors described the symptoms as a Transient Ischemic Attack, or warning stroke. While performing MRI and CT scans, doctors conducted ultrasound tests looking for blood clots — specifically an Ultrasound Bubble Test of his heart — which proved positive for a Patent Forum Ovale, or a hole in his heart. Both conditions are treatable and it’s believed they are not connected to the hemorrhage. Michaels’ rep, Janna Elias, added the following statement on Bret’s behalf: “Bret wants everyone to know he cannot thank you enough for all of the well-wishes, prayers and good vibes you have sent his way. Even though these last few months have been tough on him and his family, especially this most recent setback, he is in good spirits, great medical hands and is positive and hopeful that everything is going to be OK. Michaels is also set to appear on Sunday’s finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice.” It’s a dramatic turn of events for the Poison frontman, but it seems the 47-year-old star has always had a way of putting a theatrical spin on whatever he pursues. “I lost my virginity around 17. It involved a motorcycle, a blanket — I’m going to admit it — it was an 8-track pop-tape player at the Mechanicsburg Fish Hatchery,” Michaels reveals during the new episode of MTV’s “When I Was 17,” which airs Saturday at 11 a.m. We take it all this added up to one heck of a romantic gesture back in Pennsylvania in the early ’80s. Michaels, though, considered himself lucky to even be in a position to lose his virginity, given his face was covered in pimples at the time. “I worked at Bob’s Big Boy,” he explained. “I was the ultimate busboy, and eventually I got to the ultimate job, which was deep-fry cook. I’ve already got an acne problem, and now the grease flying up on my face isn’t really helping the situation.” Zits or not, Michaels had a way with the ladies. He also had a feeling that he wouldn’t be working at a fast-food joint for long. “I had a couple buddies there,” Michaels said. “We loved to raise hell. But when Michaels was rushed to the hospital last week after suffering a brain hemorrhage, the memories of those good times took a backseat to genuine concern for his friend’s health. Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos In a statement to MTV News, Blotzer said that he was shocked to learn of Michaels’ hospitalization, and hoped that his friend would recover quickly. “The news of what happened to my friend of 24 years, Bret, came as a shock and with much anxiety,” Blotzer said. “Bret is a gentleman and friend to not only his peers and close personal friends, but to all fans and people around the world. Speedy full recovery soon!” As of Wednesday (April 28), Michaels remained in the intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital, where he is in stable condition. His father told “Extra” that he had recently spoken to his son and that he sounded “a little slow, but fine.” According to a statement posted on his official Web site Michaels has been undergoing a battery of tests while in the ICU, and that, as a result of the stroke, he has been diagnosed with a condition that could lead to severe seizures. “Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels’ condition, a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia; a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures,” the statement reads. “Due to the severity of his condition, Bret Michaels continues to remain hospitalized in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital.” Michaels, 47, was taken to the hospital late Thursday night, after complaining of severe headaches. Further tests are being ran and information will be updated in the coming days.” TMZ reported late Friday that Michaels was “awake, in good spirits and talking” citing Ambre Lake, the season-two winner of Michaels’ “Rock of Love” reality show. The site reported that Lake has spoken with people close to Michaels who said he was “stabilized and conscious.” Lake’s status update on the 47-year-old hair-metal legend was said to coincide with another unidentified “Rock of Love” contestant who is in touch with the other members of Poison.
