Oprah knows a good investment when she sees one. Early in the 2008 presidential campaign, she threw her support behind a little-known U.S. Senator named Barack Obama. We all know how that turned out. The Big O is also high on the First Lady of the United States – specifically her fashion sense. Taking style cues from Michelle turned out to be a wise move. Yesterday, while hosting J.Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons on a special “Dream Jobs” episode of her show, the media made an interesting admission. After seeing Michelle Obama pictures showing her in relatively affordable J. Crew cardigans, sweaters and skirts, O went and became a J. Crew investor. Oprah knows a style star when she sees one. “The very first time I saw the First Lady, before she became the First Lady, wearing J. Crew – full disclosure – I went and bought J.Crew stock,” she said. The host also said putting her money on Michelle’s mix-it-up, high-low look was indeed a smart bet, saying, “That [investment] was a very good decision.” Good thing, too. In these troubled economic times, Oprah needs all the financial breaks she can get. Hey, better than her taking advice from Octomom .

Sorry, Sarah Palin. Incredibly, you’re NOT the most pathetic person to land a new reality show this month. Tareq and Michaele Salahi – the absolute morons who crashed a party at the White House last year – won’t simply star in The Real Housewives of D.C .; the awful couple will be a focal point of the Bravo program. The Salahis actually averted the Secret Service and shook hands with President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and many others in November 2008. Reportedly, the pair was being filmed as part of its audition for this series when the crashing took place. A dozen episodes of the first season have been shot and are slated to premiere in July, according to The Daily Beast . Paris Hilton’s aunts and Kelsey Grammer’s wife will also star on the show . Looks like the competition for This Year’s Sign of the Apocalypse is over before it began.

Sadly, the First Lady of the United States did not voice her own animated likeness, but Angela Bassett did a terrific job filling in with some quality Simpsons quotes . Faux Michelle came to Springfield to tell Lisa it’s okay to be an overachieving girl. Who knew Mrs. Obama was a reader of Lisa’s organic gardening blog? Go Lisa! One of many funny touches? We may have finally found an issue on which Democrats and Republicans can agree: Michelle Obama has invited the Glee cast to the White House because she’s a big fan of this Fox musical comedy. Entertainment Weekly says the show is ready to accept an invitation to sing at the annual Easter Egg hunt on the residence’s front lawn. It will take place on April 5. As far as we know, Glee has never featured a Down’s Syndrome character whose mother is the former Governor of Alaska. So Sarah Palin will need to find something else about the show to pretend to be offended by in order to remain in the news. The series actually does depict a knocked-up teenager. Perhaps Palin can get riled up over the fact that the character’s mother isn’t forcing her daughter to fake an engagement to her deadbeat boyfriend because it would make for good politics. We mean, seriously. What kind of an example of Glee is trying to set?!?
