This is one of the sweetest stories you’ll ever read. Last week in Flint, Michigan, Shana Warner received the surprise of her lifetime when boyfriend Jeff asked her to marry him. Warner said yes, but then the couple decided they didn’t want Shana’s six-year old daughter, Ally, to feel left out… so Jeff got down on one knee and proposed to her as well! The following photo, snapped by Shana, captures Jeff asking Ally to be his stepdaughter: “Mommy got a ring and mommy got proposed to, so we just wanted her to feel very included in our family,” Warner told MailOnline Sunday. Jeff, 34, asked for Shana hand in marriage at his birthday party a week ago. On Saturday, mother took daughter to see Santa at a store in Frankenmuth when Jeff made his unexpected, loving gesture. “Santa was about to let her go when Jeff got down on one knee and asked her,” Shana said. ‘She was in awe, she thought it was amazing. Man Dies In Car Crash Rushing To Hospital After Sister’s Suicide Via NewsOne reports: Brenda Tucker, 21, and her brother Ricky Tucker, 20, were at the Texas Bar & Grill in Detroit, Michigan early Sunday when Brenda, who was suffering from depression, shot herself in the chest. An ambulance was called and as Ricky raced behind it to the hospital, he was struck and killed by an SUV. They were both pronounced dead at St. John Hospital. “She grabbed a gun, and I took it away from her head,” said their Uncle Eddie Falbo. “Others were talking to her. I came out the door and heard, ‘pop.’ It was terrible. There were about eight to 10 people in the bar — everyone heard it.” Detroit police spokeswoman Kelly Miner said Ricky Tucker crossed the center line when his car collided with the SUV. The other driver, who suffered minor injuries, was treated and released. “It’s just one disaster after another for this poor family,” said Regina Holman, the owner of the bar. “I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like to bury two children.” This is the third death in their family in six months, according to Falbo. “The boy — the one who just died — killed his step-dad. According to Raw Story: A passive-aggressive note left on a car parked in a handicapped spot has drawn international attention to a paralyzed Michigan man and his wife. Matt Milstead said he went last week to the Grand Rapids YMCA to play wheelchair rugby, and he found the handwritten note shoved in the door handle when he returned to his BMW, which had the proper handicapped parking tag hanging from the rearview mirror. “I would love to see your wheelchair!” the anonymous note said. “I’m guessing male 25-35 years professional who thinks he’s got the world by the ass. But I could be wrong.” Milstead said the note left him puzzled, but his wife said she became “instantly furious.” “It’s kind of ironic the guy was trying to right a wrong,” Leslie Milstead said. “He assumed some jerk had parked in a handicapped spot that shouldn’t be, and so he was really trying. He probably felt like a good person and thought he was doing a good thing, but the problem is he was wrong.” Leslie Milstead posted a reply on her own Facebook page that has since gone viral. “You were so close on the age, he’s actually 36, and he is a professional with a full time job,” Leslie Milstead wrote. “He is also a quadriplegic, which for him means that he can no longer move his legs or his fingers in either hand. He has no grip.” She said her husband would gladly trade his 6-year-old BMW and handicapped parking pass for the use of his legs and hands, and she asked why the note writer was so sure a handicapped person couldn’t work hard, be successful and own a nice vehicle. Leslie Milstead said she never expected her reply to gain so much attention, but she and her husband hope the episode will serve as a lesson to others. “I never expected it to get to this level,” Matt Milstead said. “I kind of looked at it like, well, this will be another. It will happen again. But, hey, if I change someone’s way of thinking, then it was worth it.” She got him together. His political career destroyed long ago, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced Thursday to a stunning 28 years in prison for corruption. The apparent last step in a series of scandals that destroyed his career and helped steer a crisis-laden city even deeper into trouble was an emphatic one. Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced to 28 Years Kilpatrick, who served as mayor from 2002-2008, fattened his bank account by tens of thousands of dollars using tactics better suited for a TV drama. He traveled the country in private planes and even strong-armed his campaign fundraiser for stacks of cash hidden in her bra, according to evidence at trial. “I’m ready to go so the city can move on,” Kilpatrick said. “The people here are suffering, they’re hurting. A great deal of that hurt I accept responsibility for.” In March, Kilpatrick, 43, was convicted of racketeering conspiracy , fraud, extortion and tax crimes. The government called it the “Kilpatrick enterprise.” It was described as a years-long scheme to shake down contractors and reward allies, and he was doomed in the end by his own text messages. Kilpatrick’s texts revealed efforts to fix deals for a pal, Bobby Ferguson, an excavator who got millions of dollars in city work through the water department. Contractors say they were forced to hire Ferguson or risk losing lucrative deals. The government alleged that he in turn shared cash with Kilpatrick. Agents who pored over bank accounts and credit cards said Kilpatrick spent $840,000 beyond his salary during his time as mayor of the Michigan city. Defense attorneys tried to portray that insane sum of money as generous gifts from political supporters who opened their wallets for birthdays or holidays. The government said Kwame Kilpatrick also tapped a nonprofit created to help distressed Detroit residents, to pay for yoga, golf clubs and travel. Judge Nancy Edmunds said before imposing the sentence: “A man with the charisma and ability of Mr. Kilpatrick chose to use his talents on personal aggrandizement and enrichment when he had the potential to do so much for the city.” The sentence was a win for prosecutors, who recommended Kilpatrick serve at least 28 years in prison, while defense attorneys argued for no more than 15. Kilpatrick, a Democrat, quit office in 2008 in a different scandal that was extraordinary at the time but seems smaller compared with the sweeping federal probe. Sexually explicit texts (again) revealed that Kilpatrick covered up an affair with aide Christine Beatty and reasons for firing police officers who suspected wrongdoing.
