The terrorists crossed the border using an underground tunnel dug near the Kerem Shalom crossing. I’m not sure that spots asking movie audiences to put their phones away have any real effect outside of an environment like the Alamo Drafthouse, which actually enforces such things, but the recent spate of self-aware ‘don’t talk or text’ shorts have been fun to watch. The most attention-getting one in recent memory came from the Alamo, which re-purposed a customer’s angry voicemail [1] into a no-texting… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 09/10/2011 22:36 Number of articles : 2
We’ve already brought you one video from the weekend anti-war/Occupy Wall St. protest in Chicago. Now we have another gem. Blogger Rebel Pundit again caught up with a protester in the middle of the march. This time, he interviewed a man who was quite upset that a counter-protester had a sign supporting the U.S. prison in Cuba, Guantanamo Bay. “You should be hanged for treason right there!” the video… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Blaze Discovery Date : 10/10/2011 02:14 Number of articles : 2
Philly’s Qool DJ Marv has spent over a decade spinning in some of the hottest nightclubs in the world. In this exclusive to TheUrbandaily he shares why he thinks the extravagance of bottle service has hurt nightlife and the art of DJing. I have a strong opinion about bottle service and what it all stands for. Bottle service was the end of the model of the DJ as storyteller/ crowd motivator…person with the P.O.V. When it emerged it was the beginning of the end of that free spirited night life culture in Manhattan. You had parties where you heard different music, classic hip-hop and funk, all kinds. But the bottle service thing funneled it all into top 40, mash-ups and main stream rap. Before bottle service if you were presentable you could walk into a room. In the small bars and lounges you had the funky people, their whole point wasn’t to be inebriated from an entire bottle of vodka. You were there to be social, dance maybe have a couple of drinks, maybe one. Not to finish this entire bottle of vodka because you paid $250 for it. These are the middle-class, working people who just wanted to work off whatever they needed to work off with some music and some people. Bottle service says you can’t come in no more. All you have left is the people who used to be at the bar at those cool spots who felt like they were cool because they were [in the mix]. You had a corporate gig and you’re in this bar with a guy with dreadlocks dancing and you’re thinking “wow, I’m somewhere cool.” Those people drove the economies of those bars and venues. Those people that were glad to be there because it wasn’t work. They weren’t around “Biff” and “Wellington”, it was “Ahmad” and “Jose”.You had the mix of funky people and the people that drove the bar and it was all good. Then you had the geniuses that decided they were going to interpret the cabaret laws like “They can’t dance? Let’s charge them to sit.” It’s great for the capitalist but not for those paying a $200 entry fee. What’s left? The people who think they can buy their cool, credit card cool. But they’re not cool. They’re using their credit card to express their coolness. They start looking around and nobody here has flavor. Because everybody here is like me, they all PAID for it. “Hey DJ, play something we know.” A DJ in that scene [becomes] a human jukebox to people getting as drunk as they can possibly get. That kind of energy needs that kind of music and I’m not any of that. This place called Lotus opened up on 14th St and I got recommended to play there once by a guy that played there regularly on the weekend. And the manager comes to me during the middle of my set and he says “hey, you gotta pick it up. You gotta get it going.” I look around and see people dancing, etc. Then he says: “Did so-and-so recommend you for this gig? “Yes” “Well play like so-and-so…” They paid a lot at the time because they were charging people $200 plus to walk in the door. But I didn’t know how to be a robot, a human iPod. I didn’t know how to detach my whole point of view so that I could play street rap to 90% Caucasians scared to go to the streets. They’re looking at me like I should be their enabler, and it was weird. I couldn’t play act it, I couldn’t suffer through it. My ex-wife was disappointed that Lotus gig didn’t work out, I was too. I didn’t know if I’d made some mistake. But I knew that wasn’t the place to be. It ended up being a mutual decision. They said I was too mellow and I said “Thank you! I’m out of here.” RELATED POSTS: VIDEO: Diddy “Apologizes” To Vodka Rivals From Bathtub Qool DJ Marv Is HBO’s Secret Weapon [VIDEO]
This site has become the Rihanna show. I am pretty sure her team of expert manipulators who have been responsible for all the buzz bitch is getting from doing one fucking photoshoot, are the best in the industry and set all this up intentionally… I mean shit, I’ve done 4 posts on the shit and it hasn’t even been fucking shot yet and I hate Rihanna…It’s just the magic formula of show skin, create a fake scandal with some drunk farmer, then get topless, then put on some push up halter top that makes your average at best tits look awesome, and throw in a skirt in the wind so the world can see your spanx shot, and you’ve got all the media attention a money making tool from the Islands who is just happy to not be a chamber maid could want for something that hasn’teven hit yet…. This is why she’s famous.
video platform video management video solutions video player I’ve seen all kinds of tits… When I was in high school, one of the lunch monitors had three tits…she had the 2 standard tits and one other weird growth that I assume had it’s own nipple in the middle…because yes…I went to high school in some backwoods imbred town… When I was older, I went through all kind of hookers at all kinds of price point, with all kinds of disorders….and in all those encounters with breasts, I’ve never seen shit like this….two implants, one merged clevage, and as someone who hates implants as much as the annoying women who get them….unless they are cancer patients and doing it to feel normal again….this story makes me laugh…
In case you didn’t know, a large group of young people organized online and at least partially inspired by protest in the Middle East have been protesting banking institutions for the past week in NYC. Yesterday, their peaceful protest took a turn. Dozens of demonstrators who have vowed to “occupy” Wall Street were arrested Saturday on the seventh day of a social media-fueled protest against U.S. banking institutions, according to protest organizers. Patrick Bruner, a spokesman for the protest group that doesn’t have an official name but has often been referred to as “Occupy Wall Street,” said that their monitors have recorded at least 85 arrests being made on Saturday, most in the Union Square area. There were approximately 80 arrests, mainly for disorderly conduct by individuals who blocked vehicular and pedestrian traffic, but also for resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and, in one instance, for assault on a police officer, said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne. Mr. Bruner said the bulk of those arrests came around 2 p.m. The group planned a march from Union Square to the U.N. building. There was no permit for the march. Mr. Bruner said near 12th Street and University Avenue a large number of police officers converged on the group and used orange plastic nets to corral protesters who were then arrested. Protesters called this technique “kettling,” Mr. Bruner said. “On our march from Union Square the cops proceeded to use nets to round up people,” said Austin Johnson, 24, of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. “They split the group into two. As far as I understood, they arrested everyone in the nets.” Mr. Bruner said police used pepper spray on at least five people. He said another demonstrator was arrested because she refused to stop taking photographs of the arrests. An NYPD spokesman said he could not immediately confirm Mr. Bruner’s accounts about the pepper spray or photographer arrests. Hours later, Mr. Bruner said, one person who was arrested was sending out tweets through his Twitter account — @pulseofprotest — saying that he and other arrested protesters were still being driven around aimlessly in a police van. On Saturday night, hundreds of protesters gathered in Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan. There was a table set up at the entrance to the park with a sign saying “we need your signature to stay here,” asking the protesters to sign a petition for “the rights of Americans to assemble and practice their rights to free speech and thought.” At the park, Mr. Bruner said the protesters were attempting to decide what their next move would be. He said they were surrounded by a substantial amount of police officers. We doubt this will go as far as similar protests in London or the Middle East, but it’ll be interesting to see how it all turns out. Source
TheDirty.com founder says he ‘felt bad’ for the actress because the photos are obviously ‘personal and private.’ By Jocelyn Vena Scarlett Johansson Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images When nude pics of Scarlett Johansson hit the Web this week, the actress and her team quickly worked to make sure that they were taken down from any sites that had published them. The man behind one of those sites, Nik Richie of TheDirty.com, told E! News that he felt bad for the actress when the shots hit the Net. “I usually never remove images I get from hackers or third parties,” he explained. “When you’re a public figure, you’re looking for attention as far as press and media. But in Scarlett’s case, I felt for her.” The photos include one featuring Johansson topless and another of her nude backside. “In this case, Scarlett Johansson’s images were definitely an exception. I actually felt bad,” Richie said, adding, “These images were a little more personal and private. Scarlett doesn’t need to leak photos, she’s pretty established. So this wasn’t a press play. This was someone hacking into her phone, stealing her text messages and leaking them onto the Internet.” Richie said it wasn’t so much the fear of legal action from Johansson’s team that prompted his decision. In fact, in his line of work, cease-and-desist letters are standard business. “When I got the cease-and-desist from [Johansson’s attorney] Marty Singer, I wasn’t really afraid. I’ve gotten cease-and-desists from him before previously with other celebrities,” he said. “It wasn’t Marty that motivated me to take things off the TheDirty.com. It was the more I looked at the images, I really thought they were hacked,” he continued. “I really felt bad for Scarlett Johansson in the situation, so I thought, ‘Let’s take them down, let me be the bigger person for once.’ ” Johansson is reportedly working with the FBI to investigate who hacked her phone and released the photos. Fox News reported that the actress had actually been interviewed by the FBI months ago in connection with the stolen photos. A number of other celebrities have allegedly also been affected by the hacker, including Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez . Photos stolen from Mila Kunis that feature Justin Timberlake are also reportedly floating around. However, that reportedly didn’t stop Timberlake from hanging out with his former “What Goes Around” video co-star Johansson in New York. “They were dancing and talking to each other all night like old friends,” a source tells Life & Style . “People were surprised that she showed up with him, but they both seemed happy to see each other.” The friends were reportedly seen hanging out at New York City hotspot 1Oak on September 15. “He was all smiles with her. Scarlett and Justin left together with two of his friends around 5 a.m. and hopped into a black SUV,” the source added. “You can tell the two are great friends and had a blast together. Scarlett seemed really into him, but he didn’t seem interested because of Jessica Biel. It was like he just considers it a friendship.” Related Photos The Way They Were: Ryan Reynolds And Scarlett Johansson
Between kissing and action scenes, Lautner says, ‘One’s a little easier than the other.’ By Kara Warner Taylor Lautner at the “Abduction” premiere Photo: Jeff Kravitz/Film Magic HOLLYWOOD — MTV News has been hot on the case of Taylor Lautner ‘s big action thriller, “Abduction,” ever since it was announced. As such, in recent months, we’ve chatted with Lautner and co-star Lily Collins about everything from the film’s complex and stylized action to its sweet, believable romance, to the actors’ action-star influences and intense prep work. Naturally, much ado has been made of the steamy kisses Lautner and Collins share, as well as how much action and stunt work they do in the film, so on Thursday night, when MTV News headed out to the star-studded premiere, where Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were among the VIP attendees, we asked the leading man and lady to compare and contrast the challenges involved in filming action scenes vs. kissing scenes. “Ooof. Two different kinds of action, right?” Lautner said with a smile. “We’ve got both of them in this movie, that’s for sure. One’s a little easier than the other,” he said, hinting at the kissing scene. “Well, the action scenes, we shot the majority of them in the middle of the night so those were kind of difficult because we were tired,” Collins said. “The kissing scene, everyone was laughing all around us, everyone was making it really fun, but at the same time trying not to laugh in the middle of it, so that was kind of difficult.” “There was a lot of laughing,” Lautner agreed. “We’re good friends, so it was all easy.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Abduction.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
