Kate Middleton is expecting a royal baby this July, her office confirmed Monday. That’s baby, singular. Rumors of Kate Middleton pregnant with twins? False. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July ,” read the simple statement. “The Duchess’ condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month,” the statement also said, referring to her recent hospitalization. Kate sought treatment in early December for severe morning sickness; the now-infamous Kate Middleton prank call resulted in a nurse’s suicide. A Palace source confirms that Kate is not expecting twins, despite recent speculation. Also, the couple will not be revealing the sex of the baby. A July arrival would allow the baby to share the same birth month as William’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who was born on July 1. Insiders say that the timing of the announcement means they have likely had their scans to show that the pregnancy is going according to plan. There is clear relief around the Palace, especially after her hospitalization, that they have been able to release the news. “Happy days,” said a source. Indeed. We wish them all the best. With Kate Middleton and Prince William expecting their first child in 2013, we got to thinking recently. What should the royal bundle of joy be named? Ever since the news that William got Kate Middleton pregnant broke, speculation has been swirling regarding its gender, and what they will call it. One thing’s for sure: The baby will be the heir(ess) to the throne behind William, thanks to a change in the rules of succession . A very cool thing. What will the future King or Queen of the UK and all its territories be called? It won’t be something original, that’s a safe bet. The royal family is steeped in tradition, so expect that to continue with an old-fashioned, classic choice. Here are 13 suggestions for 2013’s #1 celebrity baby: Albert . A regal moniker often found in national lore. Alice . Sweet, pretty, classic and popular in Britain. Arthur . King Arthur, people. Think about it. Caroline . After Catherine’s mom Carole? Charlotte . Kate Middleton, Prince William to Spend Christmas With Her Family

Kate Middleton and Prince William will spend the Christmas holiday with the pregnant Duchess’ family in a major break from tradition, according to reports. After suffering from acute morning sickness in the first weeks of her pregnancy, they opted for the comfort of Kate’s family, a St. James Palace spokesman said. Queen Elizabeth II, William’s grandmother, approved of the idea. Kate Middleton and her husband will visit her hometown , Bucklebury to celebrate the holiday “privately with the Middleton family,” according to the Palace. Since his marriage to Kate in April 2011 and even prior to that, William has made no secret of the fact that things will not always be done in traditional fashion. In some ways they are acting like any other young, married couple, alternating between both sets of families during the holiday season. Hard to argue with that. Moreover, William is also particularly close to his in-laws, and this is a signal he wants to involve them as much as possible in his married life with Kate Middleton. In another break with age-old custom, the couple’s first-born child will be the heir(ess) to the throne behind Princes Charles and William, regardless of gender. A Palace source says the couple will visit Sandringham, Norfolk, where the Queen, husband Prince Philip and the rest of the royals are gathering later next week.

Pregnant Kate Middleton Glows at BBC Sports Ceremony

Last night marked Kate Middleton’s first public appearance since being hospitalized with morning sickness this month – and it was a TV appearance at that! The glowing Duchess of Cambridge, in a green Alexander McQueen dress, was on hand to give out awards at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony. Kate Middleton at BBC Sports Awards No real sign of a baby bump yet from Kate, but her very appearance is a hopeful sign that the ailing, expecting 30-year-old is getting better in recent days. It also marked her first appearance since the death of Jacintha Saldanha. The 46-year-old nurse killed herself following the royal prank phone call scandal , an event that was said to have deeply saddened the pregnant Duchess. In any case, Middleton is feeling much better than even 72 hours ago. On Thursday, Prince William attended the UK premiere of The Hobbit solo. That was apparently too long for her, but she made her return to the public eye Sunday. “While the Duchess does not feel ready to attend a four-hour engagement she is keen to show her support to the UK’s sportsmen and women,” said a royal source. “This prestigious event caps a momentous year for British sport.” Kate Middleton , who attended several events during the 2012 London Olympics, joined former LA Galaxy soccer star David Beckham to hand out awards. We’re glad she’s feeling better – and she looks great!

Kate Middleton Nurse Suicide: Jacintha Saldanha Photo Released, Investigation Underway

The first photo of Jacintha Saldanha, the nurse who committed suicide after falling for a prank call involving Kate Middleton, has been released by Scotland Yard. Saldanha passed away hours after being duped by the Kate Middleton prank call , in which two Australian DJ’s pretended to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. Scotland Yard sent out the haunting snap-shot of Saldanha, the nurse on-call at King Edward VII Hospital in London, and whose demise is now under investigation. The 46-year-old’s death is currently listed as “unexplained.” An autopsy will be held next week, according to authorities. Saldanha’s family said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Jacintha. We would ask that the media respect out privacy at this difficult time.” The Australian radio station behind the call also issued a statement Saturday, stating it did nothing wrong and there was no way to have foreseen the tragic outcome. The two DJ’s have suspended themselves from the air. Police in London have contacted their Australian counterparts about speaking with the two radio personalities, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, about the case. While the station claims it did nothing wrong, Greig and Christian’s call, which helped reveal details about the Duchess of Cambridge’s health, was certainly marginal. Nick Kaldas, deputy commissioner for New South Wales Police said: “It hasn’t been indicated to us that an offense has occurred and they have not actually asked for anything yet. “They’ve simply touched base, let us know of their interest and they will get back to us if they actually want something done. Nothing has been requested of us yet.” Kate Middleton Prank Call “As our colleagues in London continue to examine events leading up to the death of Jacintha Saldanha, we will be providing them with whatever assistance is required.” For what it’s worth, the DJs have so far remained tight-lipped after the incident, but are receiving “intensive psychological counseling” to deal with the tragedy. A spokeswoman said that Australian the pair would be speaking with the media, but when would depend on their state of mind, which was described as “fragile.”

Country pop star Taylor Swift was spotted with One Direction member Harry Styles, once again! The rumored young couple was seen exiting a party at the Crosby Hotel in New York City. Earlier on, the two were dining with Glee star Dianna Agron , who is a close friend of Taylor Swift.  Styles and Swift were holding hands as they hopped in a car headed back to Swift’s hotel. This is the latest in a string of sightings between couple.  Taylor Swift is known for penning songs about her various paramours. Kate Middleton Prank Call Reportedly Leads to Hospital Employee Suicide

A member of the nursing staff at King Edward VII Hospital in London reportedly committed suicide after falling for a phone hoax about the pregnant Kate Middleton . Kate Middleton Prank Call Two Australian DJs apparently phoned the hospital pretending to be Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, the grandmother and father of Prince William. The DJs were dispatched to the Duchess of Cambridge’s personal nursing staff and were given private details regarding the mother-to-be’s condition and care. The distraught nurse who was found dead was the person who initially put the call through to Kate Middleton’s ward. The family has since been contacted.  The radio staff apologized for the prank on Wednesday in light of the tragic news and stated that “it was done with light-hearted intentions.” This is deplorable and it’s safe to say there is nothing light-hearted about this incident. Kate Middleton "Feeling Better" But Still Hospitalized With Morning Sickness

The pregnant Kate Middleton is “feeling better” after spending her second day hospitalized by severe morning sickness, but remains there at this time. Prince William, who reportedly spent hours with her yesterday, is “immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received,” a spokesman added. Her parents, Michael and Carole, are reportedly “elated” about William getting Kate Middleton pregnant , but understandably worried about her condition. Carole Middleton and Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, also visited the queasy Duchess Tuesday. The Middletons found out Kate was expecting over the weekend when she began vomiting violently and a worried William drove her home to London. Queen Elizabeth II found out later Monday after William and Kate raced to the hospital, where the stricken princess was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, or HG. The malady impacts one in 50 expectant moms and can make pregnancy torture, but is not harmful to the baby; some speculate Kate may be expecting twins . Citing royal sources, the Daily Mail reported the Duchess is holding her own “but her symptoms of severe vomiting may last for much of her pregnancy.” Kate, who is 30 and believed to be about 12 weeks pregnant, is expected to remain in the hospital for several more days followed by a “period of rest” at home. She is reportedly on an IV drip to combat her dehydration and taking pills to stop the nausea. Barefoot Homeless Man Not Homeless After All; Boots From NYPD Officer Already Missing

The homeless man given a pair of boots by a kind NYPD officer last month apparently is not homeless after all. The boots are also missing already. According to the N.Y. Daily News , Jeffrey Hillman, 54, has a Bronx apartment paid for via a combination of rent vouchers, Social Security, and VA benefits. It’s a sad and somewhat puzzling follow-up to a story that captured millions of hearts. Hillman and police officer Lawrence DePrimo became Internet sensations after a tourist snapped a photo of DePrimo giving the homeless man a pair of boots . The photo went viral and warmed thousands of hearts, but yesterday, Hillman was spotted around New York, again barefoot. They are “hidden,” he confessed. “They are worth a lot of money. I could lose my life,” he told the N.Y. Times . The Daily News reports that various city organizations have attempted to help Hillman, to no avail, as “[Hillman] has a history of turning down services.” The man’s brother, Kirk Hillman, told the Daily News that he hasn’t heard from Jeffrey since January. Kirk, too, said Jeffrey has refused overtures of help. “We love our brother very much,” Kirk Hillman told the newspaper. “Our door is always open, but this is a lifestyle he’s chosen.” While he won’t say where they are or why they could endanger him, Jeffrey Hillman told the Times that he is grateful for the boots from Officer DePrimo: “I want to thank everyone that got onto this thing. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. It meant a lot to me. And to the officer, first and foremost.”
