Miley Cyrus: I Am Not a Slut!

Miley Cyrus might be bad at singing, but she’s good at listening. And the young star is tired of all the controversy surrounding her new image . She told The Associated Press today: “I’m not trying to be slutty. I’m not trying to be, like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys. What I’m trying to do is make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.” Okay… and that point would be what, exactly? In “Can’t Be Tamed,” Miley sings that she’s “hot like that” and “every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention.” As critical as THG is of Cyrus, we actually never use words such as “slut,” “skank,” “whore” or other nouns applied to her across the Web. But what point is she trying to make with those lyrics and these outfits? The quote above may sound intelligent to some, but it doesn’t actually say anything. Cyrus continued to defend her provocative behavior and attire, adding: “I’m really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable. “I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I’ve always been… Now I’m able to do that a little more freely and, also, I’ve just grown up to be this way too. It’s not like this was me five years ago. It’s me now, presently.” In conclusion, Miley says she is not trying to use sex to sell albums. That’s not her “schtick.” “I want people to buy my record because of my music.” If that’s the case, Miles, put on some pants, grab a guitar and just sing. You’re clearly courting this controversy, so don’t whine about. Prove to us you’re a serious artist and not a disappointing hack .

We are as critical of Miley Cyrus as any celebrity gossip blog out there. And we make no apologies for our harsh assessments of this singer because, at the end of the day, they are just our opinions. Readers can take them or leave them. They’re mere words. But there are certain lines THG (or anyone with a conscience) knows not to cross. Foremost among them: the mass leaking of photos that depict a 17-year old’s private parts. No one taught this lesson to Perez Hilton, however, as reports allege that immature, self-serving blogger Tweeted an uncensored, bare crotch shot of Miley getting out of a car this weekend. Early this morning, he definitely posted the following message: If you are easily offended, do NOT click here http://i46.tinypic.com/2zre4pv.jpg Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended! The picture has since been removed, but earsucker.com claims this was it, minus the black box: To their credit, Hilton’s Twitter followers have lashed out at Perez since this post went live. Among their responses: @PerezHilton posted a picture of Miley Cyrus’s VAGINA?! GOD I hope he gets arrested for posting child pornography. PLEASE. @perezhilton tht is basically distr kiddie porn!!! She’s UNDERAGE!! Hope the wrong person didn’t see it… Pray, baby pray. @PerezHilton You are the lowest of the low posting child pornography. Knew you were scum but this is a whole other level, you know no limit. Well said, people. Who knows why Miley wouldn’t wear underwear – but taking an unauthorized picture of a 17-year old’s vagina and posting it online is as illegal and immoral as it gets. These Tweets summed up the disgusting publicity hog that is Perez perfectly. But, hey, maybe you can do better! Leave a comment and let Perez Hilton have it. Don’t hold back. Lord knows he wouldn’t.

13 Hours, One Awesome Singer: Taylor Swift Meets, Greets Fans

Taylor Swift proved, once again, why she’s so gosh darn awesome this weekend. As part of the 2010 CMA Music Festival, the singer spent 13 consecutive hours with fans, meeting them, greeting them and, of course, belting out a few singles for them. Prior to the event, Swift blogged: “This year I wanted to figure out a way to meet as many [fans] as possible. Thirteen is my lucky number and the 13th is during Music Fest, so I think spending 13 hours with my fans is going to be amazing!” In actuality, Taylor exceeded this goal. She ended up spending 14.5 hours at the festival, making the dreams of those in attendance come true. Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus covered 14.5 inches of her body with clothing at a recent concert. ‘New Moon,’ Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber Lead Teen Choice Nominees

Among the celebrities who might win surfboards during the Katy Perry-hosted show : Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and the stars of “New Moon.” Cyrus wrangled three nominations. She’s up for Choice Movie Actress: Drama for her work in “The Last Song,” Choice Movie: Dance for her footwork with co-star Liam Hemsworth in “The Last Song” and Choice Music: Female Artist. In the last category, she will battle it out with Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Shakira and Taylor Swift. Meanwhile, Bieber is one of the contenders for Choice Music: Male Artist. He’ll be up against Jason Derulo, Drake, Usher and Adam Lambert. In the Choice Movie: Fantasy category, “New Moon” will try and suck the blood out of “Alice in Wonderland,” “Clash of the Titans,” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.” Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are both nominated for Choice Movie Actor: Fantasy, while Kristen Stewart has been nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Fantasy. “Glee,” “Gossip Girl,” and “The Vampire Diaries” will vie for surfboards, and so will their stars: “Vampire Diaries” stars Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are nominated for acting awards, as are Jane Lynch, Corey Monteith and Lea Michele from “Glee.” Five “Gossip Girl” cast members — Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick — are also up for acting awards. Although she hasn’t been on the show this season, former “Hills” star Lauren Conrad will face off against current “Hills” star Kristin Cavallari for Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star. Their competition includes “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, whose co-stars Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio are up for Choice TV: Male Reality/Variety Star against “Hills” star Brody Jenner. In the photos, she’s seen cavorting around downtown Los Angeles with actor Kevin Zegers. But Zegers says that having to kiss Cyrus for the video wasn’t as fun as it sounds. “Liam [Hemsworth] was there, and he seems like a very, very nice man, and my girlfriend, who actually works with Miley, was also there, so it was actually a lot stranger than it normally would be sort of making out with somebody on set,” Zegers told MTV News. “Normally they don’t really know the people in your life, but Miley knows my girlfriend quite well actually, and I got to meet Liam. These things are very weird.” Zegers says that the video, most of which is a dream that his character has, is going to have some action scenes. “[My character is] a parking attendant and he sees Miley’s character drive by and he sort of goes into a dream sequence, which is a majority of the video,” he revealed. “And then something dramatic happens at the end. It’s not all the making out, but there’s a car accident at the end. So there were a lot of stunts.” For the clip, Zegers rocks a neck tattoo that he jokes was probably an effort to make him appear “more badass.” But if fans are expecting the video to show a bawdy side of Cyrus, he says that isn’t the case at all. “She’s … just a beautiful young woman sort of roaming around. It’s definitely not raunchy in any way,” he explained, adding that the real-life Cyrus is just as clean-cut. “She’s very polite and well-raised, which is a rarity for someone in her position.
