Between, signing to Shady, starting C.O.B. clothing and dropping The Million Dollar Story ep, the West Coast arm of Slaughterhouse, Crooked I has been one busy hustler. But between sips of Slaughter Water, the Long Beach bomber took some time to share shed some light on his latest moves. Check the technique. Words by MC TUD: I know you’ve had to answer this question a million times, but inquiring minds gotta know. How’s it feel to sign to Shady Records as a member of Slaughterhouse? Crooked I: I’m gonna be real with you, I just got back from Hawaii and as soon as I landed and went to the baggage claim a couple dudes started taking pictures of me! I’m like “Yo, this didn’t happen the last time I came to Hawaii! (Laughs) It’s crazy man, the power of Shady records? I could get used to this! You and Joell have had the most experience with the Interscope machine. Even though it’s through Shady, did any of the horror stories ever cross your mind when you were signing up? Actually when I got on Death Row they were just cutting ties with Interscope. But to answer it’s never a bad day walking into Interscope Records! (Laughs) That almost sounds like the politically correct answer! Nah man! (Laughs) They are the “machine” and if they believe in a project and push the button it’s going somewhere! It was a testament to my character too. Because when I was on Death Row I was asked to make songs dissin Em and Dre. I always thought, “you don’t even know these n*ggas, you don’t have no real beef with them, why you dissing them?” If I had, I wouldn’t be in this equation! (Laughs) You mentioned earlier you were in Hawaii, what was cracking out there? I was out there with my dude G-Dub, we forming a new company called “The Commission” and I got this new clothing line coming. So we was out there discussing that, get away from everything and just strategize … Mecca man the doors are open. I got a shot, I’m taking my shot cause it’s been a long tome coming, so I’m going! Lets talk on the clothing line… Circle Of Bosses. It started off family and friends and it spread to different parts of the world. I decided to bring the movement to the clothing culture because I’ve always been fascinated by that. It’s not a rapper trying to have a clothing line, it’s a movement with a clothing line. One of out big t-shirts right now is “Do Not Cock-Block.” I was able to give a special hoody version to Bun B on his birthday at SXSW. Speaking of SXSW, How’d that go? We really popped it off. We had EPMD, DJ Quik on stage, DJ Premiere on the turntables. Hip-Hop was in the building. Just to have Erick Sermon saying “Yo, Yall give it up for Slaughterhouse!” I remember being a kid watching “Erick & Parrish Makin Dollars.” So to have acknowledgement from legends is always dope. Well you’re going the right way for legendary status. The Brisk campaign shows that. What’s the name of this new drink you guys have? “Slaughter Water” which is the Brisk Ice tea of your choice with some vodka. Brisk brought a big truck to the middle of the street and were giving out free tacos and Brisk. We had that truck popping! (Laughs) But yeah it’s been great working with major corporations on a level like that and still be true to our art form. You know Slaughter is real raw and uncut. That’s why Shady is the perfect fit. NOBODY says crazier shit than Em … so we good. (Laughs) The corporations are just one of the perks and that’s a beautiful thing. Ok business aside, with Em stamping Slaughterhouse in a time where lyrics are on the upswing, do you feel any pressure to produce results or else lyricist may have to take a backseat again? I think we have the ability to really inspire the next generation to get back into their lyrics. Niggas done came up to me and said “I been rapping for years but I fell victim and started making booty clap songs because I thought I was never gonna get my career off the ground,” and that’s some bullsh*t to have to go through. We still gone have that middle layer that’s full of successful wack sh*t but lyricism has always been at the top but I think now it’s going to be a little more crowded. I think you’re starting off right with Million Dollar Story Yeah man, Million Dollar Story EP that I just dropped is the pre-album to Million Dollar Story the album. Niggas might know me in the “almost famous” atmosphere but now it’s time to go to a whole new stratosphere. I’m putting this product out as an introduction and a re-introduction. I aint trippin on sales, as long as I can get the visibility to show how we doing it in 2011 on the west coast cause it ain’t all about Chuck Taylors and six-fours no more. That’s no disrespect to what the legends put down but it’s time for a new day. N*ggas is stepping they bars up, n*ggas is getting fresh, the Hip-Hop energy feels good right now. Well speaking of legends, I can’t let you get outta here without a chance to speak on one we just lost, the big homie Nate Dogg. Word, RIP to Nate, I wish I could have worked more with him. We definitely got joints that we did years back, we got joints that we were planning to do. It’s a big tragedy for Hip-Hop and a humongous loss for the west. He did classic shit that the whole fuckin club will stop and sing along to with him. Nate was just that dude man, because after moving out to the nice neighborhood, he would still come out and be visible. I really respected that because he inspired a lot of people with his presence. And 41 is no time to die. I’m gonna have a shot of Henny for him cause that was his shit and keep his family in my prayers. 3 On-Point Ways To Avoid Morning Distractions

Some mornings I wake up and feel like I’m being pulled in lots of different directions. I am usually distracted by all sorts of things: miscellaneous emails, my cell phone ringing, 38 text messages, the dirty dishes in my sink and the unpaid gas and electric bill sitting in my face. And these are just things I remember being distracted by today! There may be days when you may be convinced that the world is conspiring to keep you from getting anything of substance done. Much of the time, the things that distract us are things that need to get done… but they aren’t necessarily what we should be focusing on right that second. What are some things that distract you from your goals and dreams? How do you keep your focus where it should be? Here are a few ways you can be sure you are on point. 1. Make a to-do list – Make sure you know what you should be doing, and try to plan out the order of priority for each thing to do. Even if it’s something as simple as taking out the garbage, it still needs to be taken care of. 2. Say a morning prayer or mantra – Take a moment to meditate and either pray or repeat your personal mantra to get the day started. It will get your gears grinding! “God of all times and places, you have brought us to the beginning of a new day. Surround us in the same with your all-embracing love, and grant that this day we turn not aside into sin, nor be overcome by adversity, but let our thoughts, words, and deeds, in some small way, make for the coming of your Kingdom on earth. Through Christ our Lord” – Morning Prayer 3. Don’t entertain fools and foolishness – If there are people who like to call you with catty gossip or vent to you about their latest weekend drama (we all have these friends, I know I do!) try to avoid them in the morning. Try not to listen to negative music, rants on the radio or anything sexual that may throw you off your focus by putting images in your mind that are not in tune with your daily goals. We’ve all been to the point where there’s a lot going on in our lives, but the key is to stay focused on what’s really important. Keep your eyes on the prize! Sextra: Who’s In the Mood For Some Aries Lovin’?

Happy Saturday, Bossip fam! A few weeks back we fell into the Aries cycle of the zodiac. The fiery ram is the first astrological sign – often referred to as the “baby” of the astral rotation – this may explain why people are so drawn to them. They are quite like a giggling, carefree baby that you can’t help but stop and make silly faces with as you say, “Awe, so cute” and in that moment you are reminded of the feeling of joy. That’s the innocent, natural charm they have about them, they can grasp the attention of anyone in the room and seduce them with their wit and youthful perspective. The ram tends to have the “you make me feel like a teenager again” effect on people and possesses the ability to arouse the less jaded, rosy parts of the people surrounding them. Perhaps, it’s their fearlessness and the absence of worry that keep them so vibrant and full of life? Speaking of fearlessness … as children, the Aries is often the kid with countless bumps, bruises and battle scars and will almost always take more than a few hard knocks to the head … just ask one! Oh, and little ram girls are often the quintessential tomboy that grows into the woman who loves sports like one of the guys … just ask one! Anyone close to an Aries will tell you that the adventure is constant with them and you can almost expect the unexpected or some random encounter you won’t soon forget! Just like a ram an Aries is, more often than not, extremely headstrong – a cut to the chase, aim straight for the target type of person. This is a large part of what makes them successful in life and all its endeavors – be it business, personal or pleasurable. They are very direct and candid and leave no room for you to misunderstand what they can do for you and what they expect from you in return. Just as the Aries is likable, there are some things about them that are hard to bear. Let’s refer back to the baby that’s cute and cuddly and makes you smile. Well, just like a baby who doesn’t get what they want when they want it, a ram will throw a tantrum like you wouldn’t believe! They hate to be rejected or hear the word “no” and when things don’t go their way, the ram will buck in a fit a rage and destroy whatever or whoever is obstructing the path to getting what he/she wants. And Aries are notorious for being most destructive with their words. Shamelessly, they will take someone’s deepest, darkest secret and use it against them if it means they’ll gain some sort of emotional leverage in an argument or sometimes it may be just a “ha” moment for them. As childish as it seems, that’s how they are … remember they’re the baby! The Aries is often pegged as being selfish because they think of themselves and their needs first regardless of who it may inconvenience. But, in order to correct this, they have to recognize they have this tendency first, and work hard to place others before themselves. This is difficult for them because they have a hard time admitting when they’re wrong and if they do, in their eyes, the work is done. This astral sign is a late bloomer in terms if maturity but once they “grow up” they are very loyal, calm and discerning. Patience is what you’ll need and learn you have more of when dealing with them! Sex with an Aries is nothing short of adventurous and primal. There is something about this sign that like things to be in their raw form – no pretense, no over the top lingerie, no extra toys, no make-up; just two sweaty, naked bodies! If you’re angry at the ram, he/she would love for you to punish him/her in the bedroom. If you’re feeling a little aggressive or in the mood for a little rough-play don’t hold back! Flanigan/ WireImage Britney Spears launched her career as a fresh face with the perfect amount of girl-next-door charm and sex appeal and rocketed her way up to pop superstardom. She followed her debut, … Baby One More Time, with a series of chart-topping albums, including her latest release, Femme Fatale. And while fans are loving the new album, some critics are making a fuss over Spears’ lack of songwriting credits. Spears didn’t write any of the tracks on her 1999 debut, but by her second album, Oops! … I Did It Again, she had was making some songwriting contributions. Over the course of five albums, she has co-written 17 tracks, including hit singles “Everytime” and “Me Against the Music.” With Femme Fatale, Brit left the writing to others. And many industry insiders are defending the star for not taking credit for work she didn’t do on Femme Fatale. Songwriter Heather Bright , who wrote the track “Trouble for Me” on Spears’ latest, gave Spears credit for not pushing to get credit for a song she had nothing to do with. “I would just like to address one thing! The media is talking trash about how Britney didn’t write any of the songs on her album … HELLO! Wake up everybody! NONE OF THESE ARTISTS WRITE THEIR OWN SONGS!!!!!!” she wrote, before slamming a laundry list of stars who do seek credit for songs they don’t write. Bright also praised pop stars who in fact write their own songs. Like Bright, Ke$ha, who penned the Femme Fatale track “Till the World Ends,” defended the pop star. Not writing any songs on the album doesn’t make Britney any less of an artist, Ke$ha said. “I think people should be themselves and be their own artist, whatever that means for her,” Ke$ha said in an interview with MTV Canada. “She’s an amazing singer, an amazing performer and she’s an icon. I don’t think that that means she has to write. I do write my own music, some people don’t and it doesn’t at all make them any less of a brilliant artist, obviously, in her case, an icon.” While Spears didn’t write for her current album, she explained that it was important to pick songs that were right for her. “I really like to choose songs that empower people and make them feel good about themselves, first and foremost. I have a team of people that I work with, Max Martin and Dr. Luke, that are amazing producers,” she told MTV News recently. “They bring me a load of songs but usually I’m very quick with the way I work and the type of songs that I like. And if I like it, then I’ll record it.” “Gasoline” songwriter Claude Kelly told us that Spears always knows what’s best for her. “She’s very, very much in control of what she records, how she sounds, how she portrays herself on the record,” Kelly said of Britney’s process. “There’s no grand master puppeteering — that’s kind of a myth. She knows what she’s going to cut. She’s not going to sing anything she doesn’t want to and she has this amazing ability when she gets behind the mic. It’s like eye of the tiger.” Songwriter and One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder also gave props to Spears for not taking credit for music she had nothing to do with. “I love that Britney does that. She knows where she is, and she shows up to the studio and says, ‘What am I singing today guys? Okay, cool! Pia Toscano Had A ‘Weird Feeling’ She Was Going Home On ‘American Idol’

By Gil Kaufman Pia Toscano Photo: FOX While the rest of us may have been shocked that Pia Toscano was sent home on ” American Idol ” on Thursday night, the New York makeup artist and five-time “Idol” auditioner said Friday that she had a sense the end was near. “The night before, I had a weird feeling in my stomach,” said Toscano, even though she felt good about her attempt at Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High.” The raven-haired singer said she admitted to her parents Wednesday night that she had a feeling she would wind up in the bottom three, but they told her not to sweat it and that she should just be confident. “I kind of, like, expected it.” But, like so many “Idol” finalists, Toscano said she wouldn’t have changed anything she did on the show, even taking on the dreaded “big three” of Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion, a challenge the judges have consistently warned contestants about. “I like to challenge myself and take risks,” she said, explaining that she grew up listening to and loving those divas and thought her attempts at their songs went over well. After weeks of hearing from the judges that she needed to show them another look, Toscano went uptempo during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame episode on Wednesday night and, wouldn’t you know it, that’s the week she got booted. When asked if the judges overemphasize the need for contestants to change things up and show other sides of their personality, Toscano said she didn’t think they did and that she doesn’t blame anyone for her downfall. “The judges were absolutely right; I needed to change it up. … I was really excited about this performance,” she said, adding that when she performed back in New York, she was actually doing more uptempo material than the sweeping ballads she became known for on “Idol.” If anything, what it might have come down to is the fact that, despite years of stage work, Pia is still admittedly a bit uncomfortable onstage and prone to bouts of stage fright. She was so shaken, in fact, after the cameras stopped rolling on Thursday’s emotional elimination show that she had to be helped off the stage by two staff paramedics after she had trouble catching her breath. Though leaving is bittersweet, Toscano was amazed and heartened by the support she’s gotten from a number of celebrities — from Tom Hanks to Snooki — and said “it just blew my mind” to see judge Jennifer Lopez shedding tears at her departure. She also revealed that in the commercial break before the news, fellow bottom-three dweller Stefano Langone kept trying to convince her that he was the one going home. For now, she plans to return home to New York and spend time with her family and then maybe move out to Los Angeles to pursue singing, acting and musical theater. If she had to guess what her major-label debut might sounds like, Toscano said it would definitely “be in the pop genre with an R&B influence.” She predicted a mix of big power ballads and dance hits, hopefully produced by such “Idol” mentors as Rodney Jerkins, Ron Fair and Ryan Tedder. Facing yet another season where there are only two women left in the top eight, with several men tipped to possibly win, Toscano was asked if a woman can ever win “Idol” again. “Definitely,” she said. “It’s anybody’s game right now.” Though voting has clearly been driven by young teen girls lately, Toscano said every remaining contestant has their own unique, strong voice and a good shot at taking the crown. Sure, it’s disappointing, but everything happens for a reason, right? “I’m happy that everything happened the way that it did,” Toscano said. China All Aquiver Over 3D IMAX Porn

Sexciting things are abreast on the skinternational front, with filmmakers in Hong Kong preparing for the splashy theatrical release of 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy, a big-budget titty flick being touted as the world’s first 3D IMAX porn. The film is based on the 1991 “Category III” (that’s Chinese for “X”) erotic film Sex and Zen , an adult comedy set in China’s mythical past that combines the high-flying acrobatics of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with the uninhibited humping of late-night Skinemax. Writer and producer Steven Shiu said that the film is an experience that will blow your mind as well as your load: he says the “very graphic sex scenes” will “leave audiences feeling like they are sitting right there at the edge of the bed.” The film stars Japanese “AV” (adult video) stars Saori Hara and Yukiko Suho and Chinese softcore sexpot Vonnie Lui as the horniest courtesans in ancient China baring all three B’s on a series of elaborately outfitted sets. Shiu promises group sex, oral sex, sadomasochism, and religious sexstasy. The party poopers at mainland China’s censorship board don’t look kindly upon excessive displays of skin, so 3d Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy will most likely be heavily cut for its release on the mainland. But NPR reports that five travel groups from mainland China have booked horny holidays in Hong Kong specifically to see the movie, and advance ticket sales of the film show up to 100,000 people may make the trek. No word yet on whether 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy will be released in the US, but if the film is a success in Asia- it it looks like it will be- hopefully it will skinspire Western filmmakers to do the same. 3D remake of Deep Throat , anybody?

‘Source Code’: Unresolved Questions Answered

What exactly is this computer code that sends Jake Gyllenhaal back into the past, in another man’s body? What is the true implication of the film’s twisty ending? With these questions still swirling in our heads, we hit up Gyllenhaal and director Duncan Jones for some answers. (Needless to say, major spoilers exist below). Where Does The Source Code Take Place? So the Source Code is a government computer program that allows Gyllenhaal’s Captain Colter Stevens to jump into another man’s body — a guy named Sean Fentressis, who died in a terrorist train bombing — to experience the final eight minutes of his life in an attempt to prevent the terrorist from detonating a second bomb. But is what Gyllenhaal experiences just a computer simulation? Or is it actually real? “The idea is that it’s a simulator, but it actually opens up access to a parallel reality,” Jones explained. “It literally creates new realities where things can happen in very different ways. Every time Colter is sent into the Source Code, they’re creating a new reality where a new terrorist event occurs. So in a sense, every time Colter fails, they actually created a new terrorist event.” Why’d They Make The Terrorist a Lone Gunman?
