A 20-year-old man was arrested in Bolivar, Missouri after admitting he bought firearms and 400 rounds of ammunition with the intent of shooting patrons this weekend at a screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 — an attack that, had it been carried out, would have echoed the Aurora, Colorado tragedy . Blaec Lammers, who was charged on Friday with first-degree assault, making a terroristic threat and armed criminal action, told police that he bought a ticket to Breaking Dawn — Part 2 for Sunday with the intention of shooting people at the theater. According to the police report, however, he changed his mind and instead plotted to make his attack at a local Walmart so that he’d have access to additional ammunition if he ran out. The report also indicated that Lammers had never before shot a gun and that he was off his medication, although it did not offer specifics in terms of the latter. Lammers’ mother contacted police when she became concerned that he might be planning an attack similar to the Aurora, Colorado shooting at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in July. Per the Springfield News-Leader (via Deadline ): An officer approached Lammers at the Bolivar Sonic and he agreed to come to the police station to be interviewed. During the interivew, Lammers said he had purchased two assault rifles for hunting, the statement said. As the conversation progressed, police asked Lammers about recent shootings that had been in the news. “Blaec Lammers stated that he had a lot in common with the people that have been involved in those shootings. Blaec Lammers state that he was quiet, kind of a loner, had recently purchased firearms and didn’t tell anybody about it, and had homicidal thoughts,” the statement said. Hi my name is Ashton and I was one of the lucky girls who got to meet Justin Bieber on October 19th in Minneapolis. I had been planning this for months and months, actually ever since his Mistletoe album came out; so about a year ago. The excitement started when my friend, Joe, and I got tickets to his concert back in May when it was the 1st day of the pre-sale tickets. He and I started planning what we were going to do and how we were going to meet him because I was SO determined to meet him . The closer and closer October 19th came around the more and more excited I got. I knew he had a concert in Canada Thursday night, figuring out they’d leave after that concert and come to Minneapolis, giving them a day off on Friday. I actually left school to come home Thursday night and stayed up until 4 am making posters and planning every small detail out. Joe, his girlfriend, Kate and I were planning on getting to the cities around 10 a.m. and start from there. The morning came and the excitement was over taking me. We got to the cities and parked, seeing many tour buses in sight, my heart was racing. We knew our best bet was Twitter, so we found the Starbucks across from the Target Center and waited there. I brought my laptop so I got on Twitter and pull up everyones that was on the team or apart of the tour ; Justin’s, Dan’s, Kenny’s, Alfredo’s, Scooters, Ryan’s, even Carly’s hoping one of them would Tweet something. Finally at about 11 a.m. Scooter tweeted “new day.. new adventure.” I immediately tweeted him back asking for any kind of clue as to where they were, I think about there was about 25 tweets to him. Then for some reason I thought to tweet Alfredo, because he seems to tweet the fans back a lot. So I asked him the same thing, and finally after 30 tweets Alfredo tweeted back “GYM!” and then deleted it , so only a select few could see it, I being one of them. Joe, Kate and I packed up and headed to Lifetime that was in the Target Center. However, on the way we saw a couple tour buses at the back of the Target Center so we stopped and waited a bit to see if Justin was in one. Two girls had spotted us and walked up to us asking if we were looking for Justin and of course, we were. They joined in with us as well as this other girl who was walking by herself. All seven of us headed to Lifetime but since its a gym and none of us had a membership how were we supposed to get in? Joe went in and asked if Justin was there and they said no if anything he’s at the private one, but they wouldn’t tell us where the private one was. We asked around and finally someone was like, “Oh its connected to the Grand Hotel off of 2nd Ave and 6th street.” We looked it up on GPS and started walking to it, finally turning the corner we saw a tour bus right out side of the hotel and booked it. Some guy waiting for the city bus was like, “You just missed him, he walked in literally five minutes ago.” Kinda bummed, but also excited still knowing we had found his hotel! It was about 12:30 p.m. and we decided to wait around. The group broke up to make it look less suspicious to other girls because we didn’t want a huge crowd, so Kelsey, one of the girls and I waited in at a bus stop and all of a sudden saw his grandparents just walking down the street. We ran up to them and said hi and they casually walked passed us saying hi back. Then the hotel security guy put up a rope to stand behind and right then and there we knew all we had to do was wait. We didn’t know how long it was actually going to be. It had already snowed for 3 hours that morning and was about 40 degrees outside, but I was determined and I was going to meet him. As time went on Dan Kanter walks in but stops to take pictures and talk to us, then Scrappy stopped and did the same, as did Kenny. We saw Alfredo walk in but only at the last second. At about 6 p.m. the group of girls saw Justin, Alfredo and Ryan walking down the street towards the hotel and they ran towards him but he ran into the garage entrance and had said, “I love you guys, I’ll be back later.” Kelsey and I managed to sneak into the hotel, so when we heard that we were a little sad we had missed him and decide to wait outside. Finally at about 8:30 p.m. Justin drove by the front of the hotel hanging out the window giving us the peace sign and drove off. The girls and I chased the car but couldn’t keep up and figured he had gone out to dinner and would be back like promised. So we waited, and waited, and waited. The group grew larger and larger making me doubt he’d actually stop and take pictures with us, but I stayed. All of a sudden a couple minutes before midnight Justin’s car pulls up and stops. He got out of the car with Alfredo and a body guard and we all ran towards him. The bodyguard put out his hands and said, “Stop! If you run to him he’s just going to get back into the car and leave. Let him come to you.” At this time my heart was racing and I was shaking, seeing Justin in the flesh…. never thought that would happen so close to me. Justin then came up to me and Kelsey and was like, “I’m going to start on this side,” as he singled for me to come and take a picture with him. I couldn’t believe it. I got my picture with him, hugged him, said thank you, as his response was, “You’re welcome sweetie,” and I walked away. My friend realized her camera had died and asked if she could use my camera, and of course she could. I stood by her and she waited for her turn, she handed Alfredo the camera and Justin saw I was to the side, he held out his arm grabbing my shoulder to pull me in as he said, “You might as well join in on the picture,” and smiled at me. So I had gotten a second picture with him. My dream came true, I met Justin Bieber, after 3 years of wanting to meet him it finally came true. It was worth every second of that day. I stood out in the snow and rain in 40 degree weather for 12 hours. Didn’t eat or drink anything all day. It was SO worth it. If there was one thing I learned from this experience. It’s that if you really want something and you set your mind to it, it’s possible! The next day I had so many people message me telling me how inspirational my story was to them, and it makes me happy knowing that I can help show people that anything is possible. If your reading this and feel discouraged because you don’t think its possible or will happen, I promise you that if you don’t give up and you dedicate your time to doing this, it is possible. Honestly, never say never, because I never thought this day would come for me, and it did. It was everything I could ever imagine it being and more. He is an incredible human being, with so much love and compassion towards his fans. If he has the opportunity to meet fans, he will take time out of his day or night to do so. I never thought I would be writing my second Bieber experience. My unexpected Bieber experience took place in Vancouver, October 10th 2012 . I knew all along that Justin was going to perform in Vancouver. Unfortunately, the tickets went on sale the same time as graduation and prom. I didn’t have a job at that time and my mom already spent so much money on my prom dress and other graduation fees. The savings I had were not enough to get me a ticket, even the cheapest one. My friend who I met 2 years ago in Justin’s MY WORLD concert, Amber, were in the same position as me. We went on Craigslist and StubHub but the tickets were so overpriced. Although we didn’t have any tickets, we decided to go to the arena to show our support. About 2 weeks before the concert, Amber and I started to feel bugged and bummed that we didn’t have tickets. We started to come up with a plan so we could get tickets. We entered every radio contest; called in to radio stations at 8. We were very hopeful at first, but then we started losing every contest. I almost lost hope. Although Amber and I live so far away from each other, we met up and discussed what we should do. To make us stand out, we decided to make “BELIEVE” headbands and a poster inspired by Carly Rae’s “Call Me Maybe” lyrics — “ Hey, Justin & Carly. We know this is crazy. We don’t have tickets, could you help us out maybe?” Knowing our chance to get tickets was slim, we started to tweet Justin, Scooter, Allison, Alfredo, Kenny, and Dan letting them know that we’ll be outside the arena 5 hours early holding a big poster. On the 10th, which was the day of the concert, I went to the arena with Amber right after school and got there at 1PM. We stood near the tour busses with other excited Beliebers. With excitement, we put on our headbands and put out our poster. We started singing and chanting hoping Justin would come out and greet us. All of the sudden, Dan came out. The crowd went crazy. Dan seriously is the sweetest. He went to the other side and spent almost an hour talking to fans, signing some stuffs, and taking pictures with fans. My side was getting impatient so we started singing the Dan Kanter Song. Finally he came to us. He took his time to talk to each one of us. Amber and I took picture with him. He even signed my phone case! Amber and I showed him our sign, he read it 3 times then said “awww”. We asked them if he had extra tickets with him, but he didn’t. We saw Allison, I called her name and she waved at me. We were going to ask her to read our sign, but she looked so stressed. After spending more than an hour talking to the fans outside, around 4 PM he went back inside the arena. I was so hungry at that time because I hadn’t had my lunch yet. So Amber & I went to Starbucks to get something to eat. We went back to the arena at 4:45 PM hoping to catch a glimpse of Justin. When we got there, we found out The Beat 94.5 was holding a contest. We were asked to tweet them a certain sentence followed by #BeatBelieber. I went on full force and tweeted them 150 times until I reached tweet limit… While waiting for the announcement, we hung out at The Beat tent. Johnny and Ami, the hosts of The Beat 94.5, wanted to take picture with us and our awesome sign, so we obviously did. Then he went on twitter, tweeted “Best. Sign. Ever” with our picture attached. Finally, at 5PM the Beat announced the winner, it wasn’t me or Amber. My heart literally broke into pieces. That was the last contest of the day. And I lost. I cried. We didn’t know what to do, so we decided to walk around the arena hoping for a miracle to happen. After walking around the arena trying to find Justin’s crew, we went back to where we stood, near the tour busses. It was getting cold, like really cold. I was shivering. Around 6 PM, people started to leave where I was standing. At 7 PM, everyone who got tickets already went in and there were about 10 of us left. Dedicated enough to keep standing outside the arena. We knew Justin was not going to come out, but we didn’t want to leave the arena. We ended up talking to the security guard, he was really nice. At 7:23, Justin tweeted “about to see my fans…my beliebers…and it’s gonna BE ALRIGHT. #showtime #CANADA”. My heart sank. What came across my mind as I was reading his tweet was I’m not gonna get in, it’s too late, Justin is about to come on stage. Amber & I were so close to giving up. We were hopeless. We were so disappointed. But then, Allison came out. She looked less stressed. She went to talk to this group of people (2 little girls and their mom) who apparently are the boss’ family, I’m not sure. I saw her giving them something. I didn’t think she was giving out tickets because when she came out, she was empty handed, didn’t hold anything. Then, she started to walk towards us. Everyone was pushing, the gate almost fell. Allison was like, “Girls, stop! Stop!” We literally stopped doing whatever we were doing. Dead silence. I was shaking so much, not because I was cold, I WAS SO NERVOUS. And then she talked to the security guard. From where I was standing, it looked like Allison asked the security guard something. The security guard answered, then pointed at us — AMBER AND I. She read our sign, then laughed. She came up to us and SHE HANDED ME A TICKET. I SAID THANK YOU, AT LEAST I THINK I DID. THEN, SHE GAVE AMBER A TICKET. After that, everything just went black. I didn’t remember what happened afterwards. My mind went blank. I broke down into tears, didn’t even bother to look at which row we are in. Then I heard Amber said ,”It’s floor tickets, Angela! IT’S FLOOR TICKETS!” My body suddenly became weak, I had to sit on the sidewalk and cried even more. When we got inside the arena, when I saw the stage, when I saw all the seats, I started crying again. I was a mess. We found out we were sitting in ROW 19, 2 rows away from the catwalk. Our hard work paid off. Me and Amber were looking at each other, couldn’t believe what just happened to us. It was so surreal. Then Justin came out on stage in wings, the moment I was waiting for. I was so close to him, it felt like as if I met him. He looked so flawless and angelic. He was glowing and his skin looked so soft. He was and always is PERFECT. Since it was the first Canadian concert, of course he sang “O Canada” together with us. He even said he loved the Canucks! The concert was BEYOND AMAZING. It was worth the wait. Justin and the crew took it to another level. Justin’s voice was OMG SO BEAUTIFUL. He was smiling a lot. You can tell he sings with lots of passion. I sang my heart out. I felt so connected to him. Too bad the concert had to end. He closed the show by singing “Baby”. I had the BEST TIME of my life. So blessed, so thankful. I will never forget the warm feeling I had after the concert ended. He blew my mind. It was the night that I will never forget. It was an experience that couldn’t be bought. To everyone reading this, let me tell you something, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS. If you BELIEVE in it and WORK HARD for it, it will come true . I proved it. Thank you to everyone, especially Justin, Dan, Allison, and the rest of the crew. Bloomberg said Thursday that Hurricane Sandy had reshaped his thinking about the presidential campaign and that as a result, he was endorsing President Obama. Mr. Bloomberg, a political independent in his third term leading New York City, has been sharply critical of Mr. Obama, a Democrat, and Mitt Romney, the president’s Republican rival, saying that both men had failed to candidly confront the problems afflicting the nation. But he said he had decided over the past several days that Mr. Obama was the better candidate to tackle the global climate change that he believes might have contributed to the violent storm, which took the lives of at least 38 New Yorkers and caused billions of dollars in damage. “The devastation that Hurricane Sandy brought to New York City and much of the Northeast — in lost lives, lost homes and lost business — brought the stakes of next Tuesday’s presidential election into sharp relief,” Mr. Bloomberg wrote in an editorial for Bloomberg View. “Our climate is changing,” he wrote. “And while the increase in extreme weather we have experienced in New York City and around the world may or may not be the result of it, the risk that it may be — given the devastation it is wreaking — should be enough to compel all elected leaders to take immediate action.” Mr. Bloomberg’s endorsement is another indication that Hurricane Sandy has influenced the presidential campaign.
