Be safe this week at Comic-Con, folks — according to reports out of San Diego, a 53-year-old woman who had been camping out with fellow Twilight fans ahead of Breaking Dawn ‘s Thursday panel was struck and killed by a car while crossing the street near Hall H. “Police said she was in a crosswalk and tried to run across Harbor about 9:20 a.m. She tried to stop when she saw an oncoming Subaru but ended up tripping into the car,” reports the San Diego Union-Tribune . The Examiner ‘s Amanda Bell has more on the identity of the woman, known as Gisella G., whose death has shaken the Twilight community and those on the ground at Comic-Con. Police closed off portions of Harbor Blvd. this morning following the accident. The death lends a somber mood to the event, which runs Thursday through Sunday, as thousands pour into downtown San Diego. Police and security are typically omnipresent inside and around the convention center directing foot traffic around the busy surrounding street and train crossings; take this as a reminder to be patient and safe around town — and be extra nice to those Twi-hards. New York was central to most of Woody Allen ‘s film career until he headed to Europe in the mid-2000s, with features set in London, Paris, Rome and Barcelona, but if some Allen fans have their way, he’ll be shooting in Israel. Now that he has To Rome With Love making its way to screens in the U.S., the Oscar-winning filmmaker is reportedly headed to San Francisco for his next project, which will star Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale and curiously, Andrew Dice Clay. But if a group of L.A.-based Jewish campaigners have any say, his follow-up will be in Israel and they’re looking to put their crowd-funding wares to the test in order to lure Allen to film in the Jewish state. The Jewish Journal in Los Angeles is spearheading the campaign, according to Vanity Fair . “As far as I know, Allen himself has never been to Israel. For a man who has done much to define the image of ‘Jew’ in our time, this needs repair,” the publication’s editor Rob Eshman told VF. He is hoping to motivate his readers to donate money toward a $9 million would-be production via Jewcer, a Jewish crowd-funding platform. Born Allan Stewart Konigsberg, Woody Allen has solid New York-Jewish pedigree. His grandparents were German immigrants who spoke Yiddish, Hebrew as well as German and his mother worked at her family’s delicatessen. Allen also attended a Hebrew school for a number of years. Despite the heritage, Allen has not headed to Israel. He has noted in interviews that his latest stints in Europe were because those were places he was able to get financing for his films. Despite decades of adulation, Allen still allegedly struggles with raising money, though Midnight in Paris made over $150 million worldwide (his biggest success of his career in terms of box office) and the recently released To Rome with Love has cashed in at just under $16.6 million so far. So, with a little boost from his new-found crowd-funding L.A. friends, Allen will have an Israeli production. All he’d need to do is write it up (perhaps swinging Tel Aviv will provide an inspirational backdrop). Still as of now, only $6,000 has been raised and there is only 45 days to go for the $9 million. The Jewish Journal is offering various incentives including an email subscription to the blog HollywoodJew as well as others including a home-cooked dinner from Rob Eshman personally for a $5,000 donation. “Why did I put all my money into this? Is this going to work? God, do you hear me? Where are the people? I’m so scared. How will I pay these people? Why did I do this? I can’t pay my rent, they are going to repossess my car. The year was 1992, July 8th-12th. All these questions were crowding my mind. I was a 22-year old wannabe… but what I wanted to be I didn’t know.” Relax, Tyler Perry — you’ve spoken to Movieline ! You’ve made it! All downhill from here. [ TylerPerry.com ]
Three words. Eight letters. If Gossip Girl quotes have taught us anything, it’s that “I love you” is the hardest thing to say. One contestant on The Bachelorette finds this out tonight. Sean Lowe, whose family made a great impression on Emily Maynard on their hometown date in Dallas last week, gets a little tongue-tied in Curacao. “Sean does a million things to tell me that he’s the one for me,” Emily says. “But I need more. I can’t go through this and fall in love and have it not work again.” “I still feel like Sean is an affectionate guy,” Emily says, “but I still feel like there’s something going on in his mind that he will not let himself go there.” You know what she means by that. So does he. “The love that I’m experiencing with Emily is quite different than love I’ve had in the past,” Sean Lowe says. “So desperately I just want to open up and tell her how I really feel.” “Which is ‘I love you.’ It’s hard to say those words and it’s always been hard.” So will he say it? Will it be enough to get him the final rose June 22? Time (and The Bachelorette spoilers ) will tell. Who do you think she should pick?
The United States of America turns 236 years old today. That’s quite the milestone. But a couple other big names also celebrate birthdays, and each also represents the greatness of the country in which we all reside. First, there’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, a man solely famous for his abdominal muscles, tolerance for alcohol ( rehab stint not withstanding) and unusual vocabulary. He turns 30 today and we’d have to imagine there’s a lot of gym, some tanning and also a bit of laundry in his future. Where else would someone like this become a millionaire? Take that, France! Then there’s Malia Obama, newly 14 and the daughter of the first African-American President in our history. Her father is biracial and was raised in a poor household in Hawaii. Love him or think he’s the second coming of Karl Marx, Barack Obama represents the American dream. So put down that firework, raise your Budweiser and toast the United States, The Situation and Malia today. Here’s to hoping the Mayans were wrong and we’re all around to honor year number 237.
Kim Kardashian graces the August cover of InStyle and you simply won’t believe all the things tells the magazine about her marriage to Kris Humphries and her relationship with Kanye West. Okay, maybe you will. “I’ve always believed in love,” Kardashian says for the 97th time, reciting the same lines about her divorce written months ago by some PR firm. “I haven’t always been so lucky, but I still do believe in it.. I loved this person, it just wasn’t the right situation for me. I try to hold my head up high and live my life.” And wear really ridiculous fashion whenever possible. Kim, of course, is now dating Kanye, at least in public. She’s hopeful it will last because her mother says she needs to pretend she can commit the two have been close for years. “We’ve had a deep friendship for so long and that’s the start of a really good relationship.” But will Kardashian and West be walking down the aisle any time soon, as tabloids have alleged? Probably, the former says, though that could change at any time if E! producers change their mind . “It has taught me to take things slow,” she said of her second marriage. “I’ve always been the type to fall in love fast and, with every boyfriend, I plan out my wedding in my head.”
Big Brother and Scientology are watching Via TMZ reports : Katie Holmes believes Scientology now views her as a threat to the organization and has put a team on her tail … sources close to the actress tell TMZ. We’re told Katie believes in recent weeks — as the discord between her and Tom Cruise grew — Scientology has been following her moves, especially in New York City. This does not appear to be the mind of a paranoid person. People who have photographed Katie multiple times tell TMZ there have been several “mysterious” men and vehicles around Katie’s apartment and following her when she’s out. Specifically … a white Cadillac Escalade and black Mercedes SUV (see above) have been seen near Katie’s NYC apartment for the past week. FYI — there is a publication that has put a tail on Katie, but the people doing that are separate from the people Katie believes have been dispatched from Scientology. It is unclear if the two vehicles that have been constantly spotted near Holmes’ pad are from Scientology or from the publication. If Katie is able to keep the divorce in New York — where courts generally like to award sole legal custody to one parent or the other when there is conflict — proof that she’s being tailed could help her case. We put in a call to Scientology … so far, no word back. Poor Katie, Xenu doesn’t want her to escape.
2012 Bride Kidnapping In Kyrgyzstan These fools are cray. Back to the cave man days: In rural Kyrgyzstan men still marry their women the old-fashioned way: by abducting them off the street and forcing them to be their wife. Bride kidnapping is a supposedly ancient custom that’s made a major comeback since the fall of Communism and now accounts for nearly half of all marriages in some parts. We traveled to the Kyrgyz countryside to follow/aid and abet a young groom named Kubanti as he surprised his teenage girlfriend Nazgul with the gift of marriage/kidnapping. Turn the page and watch these women ball out!
Octomom Dating Bodybuilder Frankie G And the two lovebirds met at church! Despite her aversion to dating, Octomom has found herself a new man . Nadya Suleman, who claims she’s been celibate for 13 years, reveals she’s been dating a 23-year-old amateur bodybuilder named Frankie G. Video taken by TMZ shows the fitness buff welcoming the 36-year-old mom with a kiss upon her arrival at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday. The new couple has reportedly been getting serious after just two months of dating. When asked if their 13-year age difference was an issue, Suleman told TMZ: “No, I have the mind of an 18-year-old.” She said she met her new beau in church, which was also where they were headed after the airport. Frankie admitted that seeing a woman who has 14 children wasn’t a walk in the park. “It has its moments,” he told the website. “Obviously she has a lot of kids but it’s wonderful and I enjoy it. She’s a wonderful person, she has a good heart.” Being in a relationship is a new experience for Suleman. Last August, she opened up to Steppin’ Out magazine about her distaste for sex and inability to find happiness in a relationship. “I only had one boyfriend my whole life and I never loved him,” she said at the time. “I only wanted babies.” Even when she was married, Suleman said she never liked to be intimate with her husband. “I can tell you that I never touched him physically. It was a different type of marriage,” she said. “That’s all I want to say about it. I’m the kind of person who can be with a man for years and never touch him. My mind is not wired that way. I don’t need that kind of thing. People need sex, but I don’t .. I have zero sexual interest.” WTF? How is this broad 36 talking about “No, I have the mind of an 18-year-old” AND she have 14 friggin kids?!?!?!?!?! SMH. Source
It’s ALWAYS trickin’ whether you “got it” or not! Websites Offering Sugar Daddy Services Are On The Rise Almost anything can be ordered online and then delivered to your house these days, including a beautiful college student, legally, and for the right price. Tommy, 63, and Monte, 21, have been together for two years, and they refer to each other has “sugar daddy” and “sugar baby.” And Tommy has six others. A retired IT executive, Tommy is thrice divorced and the father of two young adults around Monte’s age. He meets many of his sugar babies on a website called SeekingArrangement.com. It is one of the many “sugar daddy” websites, where men meet and offer “sugar babies,” or young women, financial support in exchange for companionship. When Monte needs money, Tommy is her go-to guy. He said he drops about $5,000 on her each month, paying her expenses, buying her clothes and taking her out on the town in a chauffeured car. Monte said she uses the money to pay for a college education she couldn’t otherwise afford. “He’s like, ‘I could help you get through school easy and you just travel with me, have fun, be around me and just keep me company,’ and I said, ‘sure! You’re going to pay for my school?’” Monte said. To take a deeper look inside the mind of a John “Sugar Daddy”, listen to Tommy’s rationale. Tommy said he retired with enough money to spend about $150,000 a year on his female companions combined. It’s cheaper than marriage, he said, and a small price to pay for what he gets in return. “When you walk into a room, and you have a beautiful woman with you, it’s a compliment to you, as a male,” Tommy said. “It’s like pulling up in a really nice car or something. I hate to compare it that way, but it is.” For those who wonder how this can possibly be legal… The courts have decreed that as long as a woman is being paid for services besides sex, such as “companionship,” the act does not classify as prostitution. That’s the argument that Brandon Wade, SeekingArrangement.com’s founder, also makes. “If the sugar daddy is, in fact, meeting a girl for sex and money, then they’re using website in violation of agreement, which actually prohibits that usage,” he said. Ninja PLEASE! Tommy admitted he has sex with all of his sugar babies and that is part of the “big attraction,” but he said he doesn’t see his relationships with them as prostitution. “If we’re talking about money exchanged for sex, I don’t see that this way. It’s just not a ‘wham, bam, thank you, ma’am,’” he said. “You pay somehow, somewhere for sex no matter what it is. You know, they say wives do it for refrigerators.” Ahhh, a gentlemanly trick, gotcha. Don’t be too quick to judge though, apparently the “Sugar Babies” get more than just hard pipe and bubblegum. For Monte, the relationship is valuable because she said she is experiencing new things that she otherwise would never have had the opportunity to try. “[Tommy] taught me how to golf, cook, be a classy woman,” she said. “He’s just transformed me back to something I’ve always wanted to become.” So you always wanted to become a whore?? Then yoy, ma’am, are winning in life…SMH How would you react if your child came home talkin’ about “Don’t worry about tuition this year Mom and Dad, Tommy is gonna hook me up!”??
