The Greatest ‘Rock N’ Jock Softball’ All-Stars Of All Time

It’s hard to imagine MC Hammer and Kevin Costner in any other list, in Bigger Than the Sound. By James Montgomery Dan Cortese, Jon Stewart and George Clooney at MTV’s sixth annual ?Rock N’ Jock Softball? in 1995 Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Today is, I believe, the saddest day of the year. Because, as is tradition following the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, there are absolutely no sports on TV, which is a total bummer (OK, there are some WNBA games ). So naturally, I am left scrambling to fill the void. I’ve already called my parents and told them I loved them, rescued a pair of dogs from an all-kill shelter, and donated money to several worthwhile charities, but none of that has brought me the kind of perverse gratification that staring at the lineups of my struggling fantasy baseball teams does (curse you Jacoby Ellsbury!). Perhaps I am obsessed with sports. Perhaps, they are ruining my life. And perhaps going without them — even for one day — is a good thing. But probably not. So rather than continue bettering my life (and the lives of those around me), I’ve decided to use the remainder of these miserable 24 hours to do something really important: Assemble a list of the greatest “Rock N’ Jock Softball” athletes of all time. See, as a gawky teenager, I was obsessed with “Rock N’ Jock.” I actually used to set my VCR to record it when it premiered each year (though, of course, if I missed that airing, I could always catch the next 567). It was appointment TV! Sure, the brand eventually expanded to include both basketball and football, but for me, “RN’J Softball” was always where it was at. Call me a purist, but there was nothing like watching Roger McDowell (in khaki shorts) give up an inside-the-park home run to Darryl Strawberry, or seeing various castmembers of “Melrose Place” try w-a-a-a-y too hard to stretch a single into a double, or witness Keanu Reeves getting picked off of first by Tone Loc (yes, this actually happened). In short, “Rock N’ Jock Softball” was magic — to me, it may be the most magical thing MTV has ever done (it’s also the reason a photo of Dan Cortese, Jon Stewart and George Clooney together exists). And yet, aside from a few YouTube clips, its very existence seems to have been forgotten. The achievements of greats like Cortese, Van Earl Wright and Brady Anderson (who just might have been the sideburned embodiment of all things “Rock N’ Jock”) have been lost to the sands of time. And I think it’s time to change that. So, with that noble ideal in mind (and since I’m going through serious sports withdrawal), I decided to honor some of the best “RN’J” athletes of all time. With apologies to the likes of David Faustino, Jonathan Silverman and Bobby Bonilla, here’s my inaugural class of “Rock N’ Jock Softball” All-Stars. MC Hammer A no-brainer. Hammer was, of course, a bat boy for the Oakland A’s as a teen (a position he would hold for eight seasons, according to Wikipedia ), played ball in high school and actually earned a try-out with the San Francisco Giants. He carried his talents over to “Rock N’ Jock,” where he starred in — as best as I can calculate — at least at least three games. A stirring possessor of both blinding speed and astonishing skill, he stole 16 bases drove in 22 runs in the 1993 contest, a record that stands to this day. OK, I just made that part up, but still, Hammer was the man. Dan Cortese The face of not only “Rock N’ Jock,” but of the late, great MTV Sports, Cortese was a fixture at all “RN’J” contests, both as a player and a manager. During his final game — the 1997 Softball Challenge — he homered over the Pepsi can in his last at-bat (check the 4:45 mark of this clip , a moment that will live on in “Rock N’ Jock” lore forever). Sammy Hagar and Sam Kinison: Not only do both of these guys represent everything that was great about the heady heyday of early ’90s “Rock N’ Jock,” but their chess match in the first “Rock N’ Jock” game — as managers of the Salamanders and Aardvarks, respectively — was one for the ages. And not just because, as you can see at the 1:48 mark of this clip , Hagar sized up his side’s chances thusly, referring to the color of their jerseys: “My team is the winning team … we are white, and white is right.” Mike Piazza Sure, he was a 12-time All-Star in real life, but there are few — if any — athletes who excelled at “Rock N’ Jock” quite like Big Mike. He played in many games and is actually the all-time “Rock N’ Jock” RBI leader, as verified by the immortal Chris Connelly at the 9:30 mark of this clip , which makes him a first-ballot selection. Jack McDowell I seem to remember him being inducted into the “RN’J” Hall of Fame — they made him a plaque and everything — but now he’s an All-Star too. McDowell was all too willing to play along with the producers of the game, dressing up as a centurion one year, a cowboy the next. As a pitcher, he served up more than his fair share of homers, but he always did it gleefully, which is what counts here. Kevin Costner I spoke to various people here at MTV about this column. One of them was actually working here back when the channel did “Rock N’ Jock,” and he told me that of all the celebs who graced the field over the years, none of them took the game as seriously — or tried as embarrassingly hard — as Costner did. Watching him sprint around the bases, hair flowing, arms pumping (at the 1:11 mark of this glorious clip) to score on Strawberry’s inside-the-park homer is proof of this. Rick Ross Got ‘Focused’ On The Albert Anastasia EP

With his tape dominating the streets, the Bawse tells Mixtape Daily how he got into ‘war’ mode to resuscitate his career. By Shaheem Reid Rick Ross on his new mixtape, Albert Anastasia Photo: Maybach Music Mid-Season Salute: The Albert Anastasia EP Last year about this time, Rick Ross was in war mode, fighting for his career. People had questioned his street credibility and 50 Cent was straight going for his head. This year though, it’s rosy for Ricky Rozay. He has “Super High” getting spins on the radio and the records “(B.M.F.) Blowin’ Money Fast” and “MC Hammer” are dominating the streets. Ross’ whole outlook has changed. “That’s the beauty of art,” Ross told us. “You can take it and channel it any way you want to. Of course, I realize I put a lot of pollution out there as well that I wouldn’t this year. That was a part of me learning. I’ll forever be attracted to some form or fashion of war. I feel it’s competitive but at the same time, I’m focused on my numbers. I’m focused on my business. I’m focused on my brand. I wanna see other things blossom around me, versus back-and-forth with nothing. For the most part, I feel when you prioritize your business, that’s the result — that’s the advice I’ve been given for so long. I’m trying it out.” While Ross’ Teflon Don comes out July 20, for now, we have to turn our attention to one of the hottest mixtapes of the year: The Albert Anastasia EP. “It’s more than just an extended play,” Ross explained to Mixtape Daily of the tape. “Because when I started recording and it was sounding too good, I wanted to put more songs in there than what I wanted to initially. But it’s The Albert Anastasia EP. I named it that because Albert Anastasia was a self-made man. He was a boss. He was a lot less celebrated. He was more focused on getting his job done, handling his business. Of course, he ultimately came to an untimely demise. But I feel when it’s time to go, it’s always untimely, so what’s the difference?” “Sweet Life” with John Legend, “Knife Fight” with Kool G Rap and, of course, “300 Soldiers” are definite highlights. ” ‘Money Maker,’ free Lil Wayne,” Ross said. “Boi-1da did the production. We shot the clip in Barbados; we had a lot of fun out there. The video is real visual. It’s about where we come from and what a lot of people are willing to do to get where they going.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

Kelly Cutrone Reveals Her Favorite ‘Hills’ Moments

‘I didn’t even know what ‘The Hills’ was,’ ‘City’ star reveals about her season one appearance on the show. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: MTV With the series finale of “The Hills” set to take place on July 13, it’s time to reflect on some of the show’s greatest moments. Whether it’s the time Lauren Conrad first stepped into her apartment with Heidi Montag or what is certain to be an emotional final scene on the show, “The Hills” has had fans glued to their TV screens week after week for six seasons. For a while, People’s Revolution head honcho Kelly Cutrone was part of the madness. Now one of the stars of “The City,” Cutrone admits there are a couple of standout moments from her time on the show that are her favorites in its storied history. It was the moment Cutrone met LC for the first time at the Jennifer Nicholson fashion show during Fashion Week. And it was a moment that Cutrone made her future employee cry when she didn’t comply with getting LC tickets for her Teen Vogue boss Lisa Love. Cutrone is now able to laugh about the whole experience. “I didn’t even know what ‘The Hills’ was,” Cutrone recalled about being featured in the season-one finale. “But I knew this girl was coming. It took her a while to realize [I was the woman she was supposed to get the tickets from at the show]. And I think I made her cry. “It’s one of my favorite moments. I wasn’t happy that she was crying. That look was kind of Betty Davis, Tammy Faye. It’s the ultimate pop-culture drama-girl moment,” she recalled. And Cutrone’s list would not be complete without her now infamous job interview with Stephanie Pratt . “I was walking into the L.A. office, Pratt’s there, and she’s sitting on the couch [looking scared],” she remembered. “[Lauren explained,] ‘She’s just really nervous to meet you.’ Not to be mean, but it was probably one of the least exciting interviews. The first thing I notice is [her] objective. It says ‘to become a handbag designer.’ ” How does Cutrone feel about that objective now? “I’ve never seen anything like that,” she said. “Why would you put that?” Which of Kelly Cutrone’s ‘Hills’ moments is your favorite? Fat Joe Helps Bring Choice Players To The New York Knicks

‘It was a great experience,’ the MC says of bringing Amar’e Stoudemire to his hometown team, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Fat Joe Photo: MTV News Celebrity Favorites: Fat Joe New York, New York, we back! The New York Knicks gave their fans a healthy helping of hope on Monday when they came to contractual agreement with one of the top stars in the NBA, Amar’e Stoudemire. While in their pursuit of the former Phoenix Sun, the Knicks brass called on none other than a Big Apple King to help with the recruitment: Fat Joe. recently Joe posted a photo on Twitter featuring himself, Spike Lee, Stoudemire, Chris Rock, Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni and others. “I’m a New York Knick fan, die-hard!” Joe told us. “And we been losing for a long time — like, eight years or something. The Knicks organization called me and said, ‘Yo Joe, we’re trying to get Amar’e.’ By the way, he’s my favorite player, no hype! That’s who I wanted to come to New York. It’s been a long time since New York had a guy to dunk on people, pound his chest, go crazy. That’s my type of player. Hard body. So they was like, ‘Joe, we want you to call him up, start talking to him. Tell him to come to the city, tell him how beautiful the city is.’ ‘Mare, I’ve known him for years — since he came in the league as rookie.” Joe has also known Knicks owner James Dolan for many years — the leader of the Terror Squad said after the Knicks front office called, he put the full-court press on Stoudemire. “When I called [Amar’e], he was like, ‘Fat Joe.’ He already knew it was me,” Joe recalled. “I was like, ‘We need you, we need you!’ I did my greatest Khaled rendition ever created. ‘I gotta have you. You’re killing me, I’m gonna die. I need oxygen!’ He was like, ‘Joe calm down. It might happen. Calm down.’ It was a great experience.” Finally, after all the wooing and a $100 million contract offer, Stoudemire agreed to come play at Madison Square Garden for the upcoming season. His commitment was celebrated Monday night at a dinner in New York. “So then they called me up and said, ‘He’s gonna sign. We want you to come to the first meal,’ ” Joe recalled. “So after I came in there, it was small — Spike, Chris Rock, Allen Houston, John Starks, Carl Banks, [Michael] Strahan — then you had the coaches and the owners and Fat Joe representing that hip-hop side of things. It was an honor for me. I always remember when I used to go the Garden and I was in the nosebleeds — and Jordan and Ewing looked this small from up there. Now I sit on the woods. To have them call me and be like, ‘Joe, we need you to go in on Amar’e,’ it was an honor.” Joe’s headhunting isn’t done — he’s been talking to other NBA superstars in his own time to convince them to play in his hometown. “I can’t sleep,” Joe said of all the speculation over where top NBA free agents such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will land. “I been talking to Carmelo [Anthony] since the Puerto Rican Day parade. I been hammering on his head like, ‘We need you.’ He loves the city. I was in France talking to Chris Paul and Tony Parker, like, ‘Yo, we need y’all to come.’ I’m going in. This is the most exciting time I ever experienced on a free-agency level. Just to know where LeBron is going. Carmelo said he might leave. Wade! Who’s coming to the Knicks? We lost the last three or four years with them telling us they was going to make big moves this summer. There’s been a lot of pressure on the Knicks organization to pull something off and they told me last night, ‘We’re not done, Joe.’ I’m like, ‘Please man, I got my guy Amar’e, but we need a team around him as well.’ ” James, Wade and Bosh are all free agents, free to sign with any NBA team. Their main suitors have been the Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks. Meanwhile, Anthony, Bosh and Parker are still under contract to their respective teams, but have been the subject of trades around the NBA rumor mill. I had so many projects with nothing for sale,” the Gary, Indiana, MC said of the EP; he did note that the EP will have several records the mixtape doesn’t, such as “Oil Money” with Bun B, Chuck English, Chip the Ripper and Dan Aurbach. “I just wanted to throw something in stores that people who ain’t on the Net can grab,” he said. “Really, you’re getting 25, 30 songs for $8. Get the mixtape first and try it before you buy it. If you wanna support, you can support.” Gibbs’ first release from Str8 Killa is “National Anthem.” ” ‘National Anthem,’ all I was really doing was documenting my personal struggle, the things I’ve been dealing with,” he said. “The struggle, that rebellion is a theme that everybody can relate to. I used my tailor-made flow.” Gibbs said the follow-up record is called “Face Down”: “Straight gangster sh– for the clubs and the streets.” “The whole process, man, it was just me taking my time doing what I wanted to do musically,” he added about the tape. “Getting creative, making my sh– sound more like an album than a mixtape. I look at dudes like 50 Cent. His mixtapes was sh– that sounded like records. Even if he was rapping on other people’s beats, he made them his own. I studied him, and I put my own flavor and came with the Str8 Killa. With me putting out a body of work, it works in my favor. I want people to fall in love with me as an artist. I don’t want one song to be bigger than Freddie Gibbs. Royce Da 5’9" Talks Possible Slaughterhouse, Solo Deals With Eminem

‘Just because the paperwork ain’t done don’t mean we ain’t been working,’ he tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Royce Da 5’9″ Photo: Djamilla Rosa Cochran/ WireImage The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July holiday! We’re fresh from New Orleans and the Essence Music Fest. N.O., thank you again for always showing love. Make sure you read up on our adventures out there elsewhere on the website. On to the business at hand: Mixtape Daily ‘s periodic check-in on the Slaughterhouse/ Shady Records deal . The group (Royce Da 5’9″, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I) still isn’t officially signed as of yet, but we asked Royce whether he would ink with Shady as a solo artist if his team is onboard. After all, Royce has been traveling with Marshall, and the two have a long history. “We haven’t talked about that,” Royce said of a solo deal with Shady. “Right now, we just chillin’. We’re getting back acclimated, being around each other, getting the creative juices flowing. Making sure we’re on the same page creatively. We’re just gonna focus on the Slaughterhouse album right now. “Man, I haven’t thought about it,” Royce reiterated about his solo deal. “After I put this next album out, I’m a free agent. So I’m sure it’s a possibility. But it’s not something we’re really thinking about right now. I’m gonna totally focus on the group, because I think [this] sh– could be something special.” Royce said he’s hoping Slaughterhouse can drop a project this year and he can come with a solo opus sometime in 2011. “Depending on when this deal closes, which should be very soon, I think I’m gonna put my focus on the group,” he said. “I got a lot of material done for my solo album, but I wanna take my time with it. I’m looking at next year for my album. I’ve been doing sh– sporadically. I wanna put all my focus into the Slaughterhouse album first. I would like for my album to catapult off the next Slaughterhouse album. We’re gonna cancel everything. We did the last [Slaughterhouse] album so fast, because we was behind the eight ball, time-wise. It ain’t gonna be no timeline on this album. We going in, and we gonna keep recording until it’s right.” Meanwhile, as Slaughterhouse continue to work on separate projects (Royce just released the mixtape Bar Exam 3 and Ortiz has his Yaowa tape dropping in the next few weeks), the Nine Nickel said Em is making sure they stay active as a collective while they wait on the label paperwork. “Em gave me all types of tracks. Dre beats,” Royce said. “Just because the paperwork ain’t done don’t mean we ain’t been working. We definitely been throwing ideas around. [Em] stressed he wants to have a lot of involvement in the project. We want him to be as involved as he wants to be. Anytime he runs an idea by me, I respect him so much, I’m down with it. If he gives me a beat, like, ‘Yo, y’all would sound ill on this,’ I’m going to record it. That’s pretty much what we been doing. He hasn’t did no beats and gave me nothing yet, but he has given me a lot of beats from other producers.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

3OH!3 Talk ‘Rad’ New Album, Streets Of Gold

‘We were inspired by gold,’ Nathaniel Motte jokes to MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias 3OH!3 Photo: MTV News For 3OH!3’s album Streets of Gold, out Tuesday (June 29), they decided to seek inspiration from things they know a lot about — like partying. Would you expect anything else from the “Don’t Trust Me” singers? ” Want did really well and kept doing better, so we didn’t really have time [to make a follow-up],” Nathaniel Motte told MTV News of their breakthrough album. “We finally carved out some time to make this album, which is rad. We were inspired by gold.” The duo also wrote music about their new rock-star lifestyle. “I think there’s a few completely different things on the album,” Sean Foreman said. “Some of it’s really fun and just about kind of our life on the road and parties. There’s some heavier songs [too].” But don’t think the party-song dudes have left behind the sounds that made them household names. If you hear any new vibes on the album, they say it’s just because they have grown as musicians. “While we were touring, we managed to work in the studio, and I think we’ve learned so much as songwriters and as producers making music and making tracks,” Motte said, adding that this album is a “more developed [and] more defined album. It’s inspired by a lot of stuff.” Some of that stuff includes first love, as evidenced on their Ke$ha-fied single “First Kiss,” and, well, house parties. “I think we stretched. As much diversity as there was on the last album, we just pulled that and stretched it further,” Foreman said. “You get stuff on either end of the spectrum — like ‘House Party’ is crazy and has the craziest production, and it’s just a fun anthem that you’d want to sing with all your friends. And then there’s stuff on the other end of it, where it might be a little bit more singing and stuff like that.” Are you looking forward to 3OH!3’s latest album? Let us know in the comments!

Dead Prez ‘Go In’ On New Gangsta Grillz Tape, DJ Drama Says

‘It’s some heat on there, man,’ Dram tells Mixtape Daily of Revolutionary but Gangsta Grillz. By Shaheem Reid Dead Prez i> Revolutionary but Gangsta Grillz cover Photo: Gangsta Grillz Don’t Sleep: Necessary Notables Headliners : Dead Prez and DJ Drama Mixtape : Revolutionary but Gangsta Grillz Essential Info : The red, black and green forever! M-1 and Stic.Man of Dead Prez are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their classic debut, Let’s Get Free, with a new mixtape in conjunction with DJ Drama. The street CD — which came out Tuesday (June 22) — also gives a nod to another classic of theirs, 2004’s Revolutionary but Gangsta. “The Dead Prez tape is called Revolutionary but Gangsta Grillz, ” Drama said Saturday in Atlanta, backstage at Birthday Bash 15. “I jumped on it. I remember when Dead Prez first came out. I did an interview with them, [during the] old ‘Soul in the Hole,’ Loud Records day. It’s a way for me to get in and do projects that people might not expect, but it’s still quality music. I take my brand where I want to. Dead Prez is definitely deserving of a Gangsta Grillz. It’s a good balance. “The guys go in on a lot of records,” Drama added. “The hits as well as some obscure joints. They had to go in on ‘Over.’ Drake borrowed the style; they took it right back. They did their thing. They went in on Gucci’s ‘Wasted.’ You’ll be surprised about that. They went in on a couple of instrumentals. It’s some heat on there, man.” Of course, the Drake track Dram refers to is the song “Far From Ova,” which is already on the Net. Last month, for Mother’s Day, Prez also released “The Beauty Within,” which uses the beat and reworks the hook from B.o.B’s “Nothin’ on You.” Other Heat This Week

Bizarre Says Eminem, D12 ‘Back In The Lab’ For New Mixtape, Album

‘We’re in our little grimy studio and we’re knocking it out,’ Biz says, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Bizarre Photo: Shady The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive D12’s Bizarre says “the Band” is back in the lab making music together. The Detroit collective are simultaneously recording their next official LP and a new mixtape. “It took Marshall a little bit of time to get on his grind,” Biz said of his D12 partner Eminem. “Now he’s about to drop the Recovery album. I got my album, I snuck it in there,” added the rapper, who just released his solo independent LP, Friday Night at St. Andrews. “Right now we’re working on this mixtape. We decided we should work on this mixtape to get the streets a little hot right quick then drop the album. We’re kinda doing both at the same time. We’re definitely back in the lab working. All original material,” Biz said of the tape. “If you got some beats man, hit me up, man. We don’t discriminate when it comes to music — ain’t no politics with us. If you got some fresh music, some hotness, we got you.” Biz noted that with all the fellas back together after a long hiatus, which included grieving over the death of their partner Proof in 2006, the vibe finally felt right. “It’s good, man,” he said. “It’s a nice feelin’, man. We’re taking it back to the roots. We’re in our little grimy studio and we’re knocking it out. I can’t describe the feeling. To get back in there with the group and get on some beats, it’s a challenge within ourselves. We don’t even let each other hear each other’s verse before we rap, so you definitely need to be trying to come with it. It’s a friendly competition thing. It’s a lot of pressure, but it’s good pressure.” It’s probably no surprise that the guy who’s really terrorizing the booth on both efforts is Em. “Em is sounding crazy,” his longtime friend said. “He always sounds crazy. This dude is an alien. He’s probably got hundreds of raps thought about already, in different styles and different patterns. That’s one dude you can’t compare yourself to … or worry about what he’s doing. If you worry about that cat, you’re gonna be lost.” While his rhymes will surely reign on the D12 project, whether we’ll hear any beats from the Shady Records head is up in the air. “Em ain’t really into producing no more, but he’s gonna be on both projects,” Biz said. Neither D12 project has a release date, but Biz said he thinks the mixtape will drop in the fall on the mischief-making Devil’s Night. For now, Bizarre is pushing his solo LP and recording. “It’s a … historic place in Detroit,” he explained of his album’s title. “[St. Andrews], it was a church that they turned into a club and had hip-hop on Friday night. Being that Detroit is such a gangsta city, this was the only outlet we really had for hip-hop, breakdancing and battling. Basically, I’m paying homage.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

Travis Porter Are ‘Killing’ Indie Scene With Proud To Be A Problem

Unsigned Atlanta trio say new mixtape is ‘giving most signed artists problems,’ in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Travis Porter Photo: MTV News This Week’s Main Pick Street Kings : Travis Porter Holding It Down For : ATL Mixtape : Proud to Be a Problem. Real Spit : Strap, Quez and Ali are bringing that youthful energy with a club banger and the Atlanta trio have fans on the Internet riding for them heavy. “At the moment we are an independent problem,” Quez explained of Travis Porter’s new mixtape Proud to Be a Problem. “We’re proud of it!” he added, acknowledging that the group has earned strong buzz in the South without the backing of a major. “It’s really a good vs. bad thing. It’s a good problem because we letting other independent artists know it’s possible to be known and out there, just grindin’. It’s a bad problem because we’re giving most signed artists problems.” As you can tell, these guys aren’t exactly modest about their increasing popularity. Several months ago, Travis Porter hooked up with Roscoe Dash and put out a version of “All the Way Turnt Up.” Eventually Dash, who came up with the song, released it officially through his own label, Interscope. The Interscope version didn’t feature Travis Porter, but included Soulja Boy. Still, TP kept their movement going, releasing the Problem mixtape a few weeks back — the downloads were crazy. And the group is in no rush to sign with a major label just yet. “At the moment, we’re like a high school player on the verge of going to college,” Strap said of Travis Porter’s unsigned status. “We have to pick the right one. We have to weigh out all the options and pick the best deal accordingly. When that time comes, we’ll make that decision. But at the moment, we’re killing the independent scene.” Quez and Ali have a familial bond and they’ve known Strap since they were 12. “Well, me and Ali are stepbrothers,” Quez began to explain. “So we been knowing each other. We met Strap in like the 6th grade and made a group called the Hard Hittaz and been makin’ great music ever since.” Travis Porter also have a short film out to accompany their mixtape.
