New Black Kid On The Block: Rockie Fresh Premieres New Track “Superman OG” Feat. Lunice

Whatchu know about Rockie Fresh? Is good hip-hop still out there? Via Pitchfork : Twenty-one year old Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh covered plenty of ground already for his age, parlaying early connections to Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and Good Charlotte’s Madden Brothers into a deal with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music imprint. Since breaking in with 2009′s Rockie’s Modern Life, he’s been prolific enough to establish a sizable back-catalogue of entry points. His latest single, “Superman OG”, finds Rockie sitting back in the pocket, throwing around braggadocio (“Y’all niggas Dr. Scholls/ You about to see defeat”) while Montreal producer and TNGHT member Lunice supplies a mutant of a beat, all percussive Bic flicks and chattering digital noise building to a point where the thing goes full water temple at the two-minute mark. The beat is the type of Aggro Cragged-out elbow music that would, in most cases, shed your average rapper’s dead weight. Take a listen and, as always, your feedback is always appreciated! Red Room Rebuff: Mark Frost Dismisses ‘Twin Peaks’ Season 3 Rumors

Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost appears to have put an end to the latest flurry of Internet rumors surrounding the resurrection of David Lynch’s seriously weird but beloved cult series. On Dec. 31 an anonymous poster on the 4chan message  board, wrote of attending a meeting between Lynch and NBC executives about bringing back a number of the original characters for a third season of the show, which originally aired on ABC from April 1990 to June 1991. The tipster claimed that the idea was in the “early stages” and that NBC executives were a “little on edge” about Lynch “tackling [the series] alone” given the Eraserhead director’s iconoclastic tastes.  According to Anonymous, Lynch discussed setting the new season in the modern day, with good Agent Cooper ( Kyle MacLachlan ) stuck in the lodge and bad Cooper in jail. This time, a young female reporter will purportedly “uncover the truth” behind such conundrums as the killer BOB and the Lodge that defies time and space. At the time, those little morsels of unsubstantiated rumor didn’t seem so far-fetched given a report on Moviehole.com in which Frost was quote saying that a season-three storyline is “something we talk about from time to time… If we ever do decide to move forward, I know we have a rich trove to draw from. Cast and crew members, such as the series’ “Log Lady,” Catherine E. Coulson and writer/producer Robert Engels, have also reportedly been contacted about the possibility of resuming their roles. Alas, on Wednesday Frost tweeted the following, which appeared to debunk the rumors: Dear Internet: You are very good at spreading rumors. Truth is more valuable and much harder to come by. Sincerely yours, @ mfrost11 — Mark Frost (@mfrost11) January 02, 2013 Daily Beast West Coast Deputy Bureau Chief Jace Lacob also tweeted that, in an email, Frost indicated that he and Lynch had had no contact with NBC. @ TwinPeaksRedux That there have been no conversations between them (i.e., Frost and Lynch) and NBC.— Jace Lacob (@televisionary) January 03, 2013 What is there to do but grab piece of cherry pie and exit stage left with my favorite reaction from the Twin Peaks Archive Twitter feed, where much of this drama has been playing out: It is not happening again. Robert Bork Dies; Supreme Court Nominee Was 85

Robert Bork, whose long political career was most noteworthy for his controversial rejection from the Supreme Court in the 1980s, has died at the age of 85. Son Robert H. Bork Jr. confirmed his father died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va. The son said Bork died from complications of heart ailments . The brilliant, blunt Bork’s confirmation hearings helped draw the modern boundaries of cultural fights over abortion, civil rights and other issues. The Senate denied him confirmation and a spot on the court, 58-42. Earlier in life, Bork was accused of being a partisan hatchet man for Richard Nixon. As the third-ranking official at the Justice Department, he fired Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox in the “Saturday Night Massacre” of 1973. Attorney General Elliot Richardson resigned rather than fire Cox. The next in line, William Ruckelshaus, refused to fire Cox and was himself fired. But it was Bork’s drubbing during the 1987 Senate nomination hearings made him a hero to the right and a rallying cry for younger conservatives. The experience embittered Bork and hardened many of his positions, even as it gave him prominence as an author and popularity on the speaking circuit. Kenneth Weinstein, head of the Washington think-tank Hudson Institute where Bork was a distinguished fellow, said in response to his passing: “Robert Bork was a giant, a brilliant and fearless legal scholar, and a gentleman whose incredible wit and erudition made him a wonderful Hudson colleague.” Known before his nomination by Ronald Reagan as an expert on antitrust law, Bork became widely known as a conservative cultural critic in the ensuing years.

Sarah Hyland Isn’t 14 for Glamoholic Magazine of the Day

One of two things happened in this Photoshoot with Sarah Hyland, the 12 year old on Modern Family who is actually not 12, but who was probably on hormone therapy by her stage parents, cuz you don’t get on a hit TV show even at 18, without having stage parents who throw you into the shit head first for as money money as they can get…cuz protitution comes in all forms…. So either Sarah Hyland hit puberty….and figured now was as good a time as any to show off her new womanly body….or…..she always had this body and spending time with guestionable character Sofia Vergara, single mother from Colombia turned Emmy Winner….instead of back alley hooker….has been the mother Sarah Hyland has never had…telling her to “show them tits as hard and fast as you can cuz it will open doors for you”… And whatever the reason for this shoot…I’m kinda happy it happened….cuz I feel less creepy masturbating to her now that I know she’s got her period….

Voters Back Colbert to Fill Vacant Senate Seat

South Carolina native Stephen Colbert is the top choice of Palmetto State residents to fill the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by Jim DeMint, a new poll indicates. DeMint is stepping down to head a conservative think tank. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will appoint a successor to complete DeMint’s term, which ends in 2014. That November, an election will be held … but until then it’s Haley’s call alone. According to Public Policy Polling, The Colbert Report host would be the most popular appointee . Colbert has already expressed interest in the vacancy, too. The Comedy Central staple has been asking viewers to tweet at Gov. Haley, a Republican who he calls a “friend of the show,” and lobby her to appoint him. The federal government would certainly become a lot funnier overnight. Could this really happen? Probably not, though Haley’s approval ratings are way down with Democrats and independents, so a PR coup might not hurt. Just saying. Colbert is famous for trying to insert himself into the political process. He attempted to run in this year’s South Carolina primary and started his own Super PAC. Should Stephen Colbert be appointed to the U.S. Senate?   Yes! He’s hilarious and smart, too! No, someone else! View Poll »

Ariel Winter’s Mom Sues Actor For Defamation Following "Abusive Monster" Comment

Ariel Winter’s mom is suing an associate of her adult daughter for defamation after he claimed she was an “abusive monster” toward the Modern Family star. Chrisoula Workman filed the defamation and false light lawsuit against Matthew Borlenghi, claiming his comment attached to a November 9 L.A. Times story. Borlenghi is an actor who teaches at a studio operated by Shanelle Workman -Gray, Winter’s adult sister who currently has custody of the 14-year-old. A judge temporarily stripped Winter’s mother of custody amid allegations she had been physically and emotionally abusive to the Sofia the First actress. A trial on whether Workman will be completely lose custody begins Wednesday. Borlenghi said he had not yet seen the lawsuit, which stems from an online comment he allegedly posted on the Times website that quoted Chrisoula Workman. The story centered on Chrisoula (who also goes by Chrystal Workman ) alleging that Winter was having an improper relationship with an 18-year-old actor. The comment attributed to Borlenghi re: that story states: “This is a total falsehood. The mother is grasping and clawing to find a way not to lose her money-maker, and hide the fact that she is an abusive monster.” Borlenghi later said when contacted about the case: “All I can say is that David (Gray) and Shanelle Gray are very close friends of mine and comments that Chris has made are absolutely fabricated.”  “The negative comments she’s made about her own daughter in order to try to get custody back of Ariel Winter are truly disgusting.” Workman’s lawsuit includes several pages of sworn declarations from tutors and other friends and associates denying she has been abusive to her daughter. The declarations have been filed in the case and may be considered by a judge who has to determine whether to allow Gray to continue caring for her sister. A judge said last month that investigators had evidence of emotional abuse toward Winter. Workman has denied she has been abusive toward her daughter.
