Federal agents have arrested Charlie Shrem, CEO of Bitcoin exchange BitInstant, for money laundering in connection with online drug exchange Silk Road. The U.S. attorney’s office said Shrem helped someone he hadn’t met in person, Robert Faiella, sell more than $1 million worth of bitcoins to Silk Road customers. Bitcoin CEO Arrested Shrem was arrested at JFK Airport Sunday. Faiella, his 52-year-old partner, allegedly ran an underground Bitcoin exchange using the alias BTCKing. He was arrested at his home in Cape Coral, Fla. Both are charged with conspiracy to launder money and operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. Additionally, Shrem faces a charge for not tipping off the government. Shrem, 24, is a major player in the Bitcoin world. The BitInstant exchange, based in New York City, lets people buy bitcoins locally at more than 700,000 locations. It received a $1.5 million investment last year from Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Shrem is also vice chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, CNN reports. The Winklevoss twins said in an emailed statement that they are “deeply concerned” about Shrem’s arrest, and that they were assured his actions were legal. Shrem allegedly sold Faiella the bitcoins that eventually made their way to drug buyers and sellers, according to an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service. Though Shrem knew where the money ultimately ended up, he never reported it to the U.S. Treasury Department, according to the U.S. attorney. Faiella was allegedly pumping them into Silk Road on a regular basis. Federal documents cite emails between Shrem and Faiella that show how they worked together, although Shrem never knew Faiella by his actual name. For example, when Faiella’s frequent and large cash deposits raised eyebrows at a cash processing company, Shrem advised Faiella on how to avoid sounding alarms. The IRS claims the partners exchanged $1.05 million in bitcoins over a 10-month period ending in October 2012. Faiella eventually ended the partnership.

NeNe, dressed in sex lingerie for the occasion, feeds them uncomfortable questions, including whether Porsha Williams would be down if her man was bisexual. Apollo mentions he used to go to strip clubs “every day” but says nowadays it’s “more on the social level.” He defends the money he spends there, too. Chris gets up to stop Kenya from approaching his wife. Peter tries to push back Brandon, Kenya’s friend, who gets up to support Kenya. My how the mighty have fallen … Vince Young Files For Bankruptcy Vince Young, the former University of Texas and NFL quarterback from Houston who has been involved in a pair of lawsuits stemming from financial issues that arose during the 2011 NFL lockout, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Via Houston Chronicle reports: Attorney Brian Kilmer of Houston filed the petition last week in a Houston federal bankruptcy court on Young’s behalf, listing Young with estimated assets between $500,001 and $1 million and liabilities between $1,001,000 and $10 million. No specific details on Young’s assets and liabilities were immediately available. Over the last year, Young, 30, has been locked in a pair of lawsuits stemming from a $1.8 million loan obtained in his name during the 2011 lockout. A New York state court has granted a judgment against Young to Pro Player Funding, a New York company that made the loan, which along with interest has grown to more than $2.5 million, according to a Pro Player attorney. Pro Player Funding has made several efforts in a Harris County state district court to enforce collection of the judgment, but those efforts remain pending. In the wake of the New York case, Young sued a group that included his former financial adviser, Ronnie Peoples of Raleigh, N.C., and his former agent, Major Adams II of Houston, claiming that the defendants defrauded him and conspired with Pro Player Funding to obtain the loan and that Young himself never received the money in question. Lawyers in December said a settlement had been reached in the Peoples case, but that agreement has not been finalized. Documents filed in the Peoples case include a financial statement as of July 2013 that listed Young and his wife, Candice, with assets totaling $1.8 million and liabilities totaling $2.5 million, including the New York state judgment. Young’s assets included five cars, his home, NFL annuity and 401(k) funds and jewelry valued at about $200,000. While the state case continued, a Harris County district judge granted a temporary restraining order that prohibited Young from wasting or dissipating assets and limited him to $25,000 in monthly household expenses, including child support. Vince might want to see if The Cheesecake Factory is hiring now that he’s officially broke!

However, from the beginning, when I hear one call their ex all kinds of gay queens, wanting to keep their ex’s last name after they’ve slandered them, wanting a big divorce settlement after 2 years of marriage with no property and no children together, having employment of your own, or stating they will come back if the money is right and if he deals with his demons. These blaring oxymoronic statements and feelings have strained my tolerance for this constant display of unsubstantiated emotional fragility. Therefore, I don’t have a lot of sympathy towards the situation. I do however think both Kandi and Phaedra attempted to give sound financial advice. There’s only so much you can do.
