Lil Wayne Kicks Off I Am Music II Tour In Rhode Island

Nicki Minaj, Travis Barker and Rick Ross join Weezy, who tells the crowd that performing post-prison is ‘better than I could have imagined.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne performs at his I Am Music II tour in Providence, Rhode Island on March 17, 2011 Photo: Taylor Hill/ Getty Images PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Lil Wayne returned to the stage as a headliner for the first time in more than a year on Wednesday night (March 16), and the superstar MC let the Rhode Island concertgoers know just how grateful he was to be kicking off his I Am Music II Tour in their town. “I swear to God, I was in a place a few months ago, I couldn’t imagine this sh–,” Wayne told the sold-out crowd, referring to his time behind bars . “But now that I’m here, it’s better than I could have imagined.” To say the feeling was mutual would be an understatement. The New England crowd cheered Weezy’s every move, from his otherworldly rhyming to the array of guests he invited onstage, including Young Money members Shanell, Jae Millz, Mack Maine and Lil Twist. Sporting a white V-neck tee, jeans, bright Vans and a fitted cap and shades, Wayne looked trimmer than he did upon his release from prison in November. His dreadlocks appeared longer, and the rapper was lucid. As a result of an Arizona case, Wayne is forbidden from drinking alcohol or partaking in any activities involving drugs. The added clarity served him well. He was agile throughout his verses on “A Milli.” “He’s a beast, he’s a dog, he’s a motherf—ing problem,” he rapped. “OK, you’re a goon, but what’s a goon to a goblin?/ Nothing, nothing, you ain’t scaring nothing/ On some f—ing bullshit, call him Dennis Rodman.” After running through “Look At Me Now,” “I’m Going In” and “Got Money,” Wayne revisited his standout mixtape, No Ceilings, before ceding the stage to Nicki Minaj. The Young Money empress was ready for combat. She entered to a blistering scene of “Gladiator” playing on the enormous LCD screen behind the stage. An unknown person in a monk’s outfit walked to the front of the stage followed by Nicki’s barbies in their pink bobs. Rising through a propelled entrance underneath the stage, the Pink Friday star rocketed onto the stage to “Roman’s Revenge.” Sporting a white-and-pink body-hugging one-piece suit and a Bride of Frankenstein-like wig, Nicki was flamboyant in her “Roman” persona. She took a football onstage and ran through a cadre of her dancers –clad in helmets, while Nicki wore shoulder pads — en route to a touchdown and spike. The “Moment 4 Life” star was also flirtatious. She invited a man onstage with her (after another one tried to rush the stage before security escorted him off) for a lap dance. “There’s three rules,” she told the lucky participant. “Keep your legs open, hands behind your back and keep your mouth shut.” Then, as Sean Kingston’s “Letting Go,” featuring the Queens lyricist, boomed on the speakers, she teased her guest with a dutty-whine thrust. Wayne returned to the stage after 30 minutes, and after a brief Rebirth set, the benevolent CEO invited Lil Twist out for their new collaboration “Love Affair.” Mack Maine, Jae Millz and Nicki joined the boss for “Bed Rock.” Young Money’s latest signee, Cory Gunz, proved to be the most energetic of the crew when the Bronx upstart arrived next for a frenetic rendition of “6 Foot 7 Foot.” Rick Ross and Travis Barker rounded out the bill. The Blink-182 drummer was joined by Beastie Boys DJ Mixmaster Mike for a heart-racing set. Barker performed his set inside an oversize Ghetto Blaster radio as he pounded on the brass for the title track of his solo debut, Can a Drummer Get Some. Miami Don Rick Ross was as breezy as a Florida sunset. His 30 minutes included his breakout hits “Hustlin’ ” and “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast).” “I need a moment of silence,” Ross told the audience. “Life is a beautiful thing. There’s nothing more beautiful than life.” Wayne was just as effusive about his circumstances toward the end of the show. “Make some noise for Tupac,” he announced. “Make some noise for Biggie. Make some noise for my n—a Nate Dogg . Make some noise for Michael Jackson, y’all. “All the people I named taught me one thing,” Wayne added. “And that’s how to hustle.” Will you check out Wayne’s I Am Music II Tour? You Won’t Believe What This 16-Year-Old Kid And This Woman Twice His Age Got Popped For

SMH: A woman who acknowledged performing sex acts on a 2-year-old child while a man in the United Kingdom watched live via a web-cam has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Julie Carr, 33, of Mars Hill, Maine, was sentenced Monday, a year after confessing that she sent videos to the man. U.S. District Judge John Woodcock said he had dealt with many child pornography cases and ‘yours is the worst case I’ve ever seen.’ The Bangor Daily News said he told Carr that, ‘it is incumbent upon me to protect … the people who can’t protect themselves.’ Police in the West Midlands region of England discovered the videos, which were recorded by Nicholas Wilde, in June 2009 while investigating another child pornography case. The videos were traced to Maine, and Carr was arrested two days later. She said Wilde ‘conned’ her into doing it, according to court documents. Wilde was arrested on June 11 2009 after sending child sex abuse images to a 16-year-old girl he met in an internet chat room. The girl and her mother contacted the police and Wilde was traced and subsequently arrested by officers from the child exploitation unit at West Midlands Police. The teenager of Holmbridge Grove, Sheffield admitted 10 charges of making, possessing or distributing indecent images of children and also possessing extreme pornography. Wilde also admitted two charges of incitement to commit sexual assault of a child under 13 – offences that led to the arrest of Carr. Carr was arrested following a probe involving the American Child Exploitation Unit, the Online Protection Centre and the United States Embassy. At his sentencing, the court heard that detectives seized a computer and a memory stick from his bedroom, uncovering a collection of photographs at the most serious end of the child pornography scale involving children as young as 18-months-old. The memory stick also contained footage of a woman in Maine, who later turned out to be Carr, abusing a young child. Jailing Wilde for four years and eight months, Judge Hilary Watson said of the exchange with Carr: ‘It was entirely for your benefit, at your direction, for the sexual gratification of Nicholas Wilde.’ The judge added his youth was ‘very worrying’, saying: ‘You have your whole life ahead of you and the potential to re-offend is very great.’ Makes you wonder how this monster only got four years, doesn’t it. Julie Carr, though, is without a doubt the f*cked up mother of the day. Source

Quote Of The Day: Adrian Peterson Compares NFL Labor Situation To Modern Day Slavery

The NFL labor situation is “modern-day slavery,” according to Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson. The running back’s explosive comments were quoted in a Yahoo! Sports story last Friday, the same day the NFL Players Association decertified and the NFL owners subsequently locked out the players. Peterson vented his anger about the owners refusing to open their financial books. “It’s like . . . well, show us. We want more information, and they want to (expletive), going around, saying this and that, just open it up and give us the information we want,” Peterson told Yahoo! Sports shortly before the NFLPA’s decertification last Friday. “. . . If they have nothing to hide, just give us the information. Why not? Obviously, there’s a lot to hide — these guys are professionals, and they’re maximizing what they do. But they know that if all this information comes out, the information the players want, it’ll be right out there for everyone to see. It’s a rip-off — not just for the players, but for the people who work at the concession stands and at the stadiums.” But Peterson didn’t stop there. Many NFL players feel that they aren’t being treated as business partners, but Peterson chose a different term for the treatment. “It’s modern-day slavery, you know?” Peterson said. “People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money . . . the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money.” Yahoo! writer Doug Farrar apparently removed Peterson’s comments for a time shortly after they were published. The quote already had spread across the Internet, however. Yahoo! included an editor’s note Tuesday that said it was reaching out to Peterson for context to his comments. “I don’t think he meant it in the way it’s going to come across, but the word itself is a problem,” Farrar said via his Twitter account. Peterson, who was selected in the first round of the 2007 draft by the Vikings, will enter the 2011 season — if there is one — in the final year of his rookie deal, a source confirmed. Discuss… (And ladies, that pic was a special treat for you!!!) Source

Nicki Minaj Says She’s Handed In A Verse For Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV

‘Wayne is definitely on his grind crazy right now,’ she tells MTV News of Weezy’s next project. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Audrey Kim Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News When Lil Wayne makes a request, Nicki Minaj delivers. Considering she quickly ascended to rap royalty after Weezy signed her to his Young Money roster, she owes the New Orleans rapper a debt of gratitude. Hip-hop’s Harajuku Barbie recently told MTV News that she has already recorded a verse for her mentor’s new album, Tha Carter IV, due later this year. “I recorded something for Carter IV, and I recorded something with the Birdman recently,” Nicki told MTV News. The Birdman she’s referring to is Bryan “Baby” Williams, Cash Money Records co-founder and CEO, and a recording artist in his own right. Baby’s new album, Bigger Than Life, is due this year as well. Minaj spoke confidently about Wayne’s next album, which has so far spawned a single and video in “6 Foot 7 Foot,” featuring Cory Gunz. “I think Carter IV is gonna just be exceptional, of course,” Nicki said. “I think Wayne is definitely on his grind crazy right now. But yep, my Carter IV verse has been handed in officially.” Over the weekend, “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez revealed that Wayne is featured on her next single “I’m Into You,” from her forthcoming Love? album. And on Monday (March 14), Wayne popped up on a rough version of Kanye West’s “All of the Lights (Remix)” that hit the Internet. As for Nicki and Weezy’s new song, fans may get a live preview soon. Minaj will be heading out on the road with Wayne, as well as Rick Ross, Mixmaster Mike and Travis Barker, for the I Am Music II Tour , which kicks off Friday in Buffalo, New York. Richard Hatch Sent Back to Prison

Richard Hatch, winner of Survivor and current contestant on Celebrity Apprentice , is going to jail for not paying taxes for the money he won on Survivor . The reality star has served more than three years for tax evasion already. He has been under supervised release and was supposed to re-file his taxes. Hatch, who apparently can’t outwit, outplay or outlast the Internal Revenue Service, failed to do so again and did not fork over taxes from 2000-01. Richard needs to Hatch a plan to hire an accountant. “It needs to be a severe punishment,” U.S. District Court Judge William Smith told Hatch. “That’s the only thing that will deter you in the future.” Hatch was also ordered to serve 26 months of supervised release. During that time, a quarter of his gross income will be paid directly to the IRS. Hatch, who now owes an estimated $2 million, reports to prison Monday. There’s a lesson in this, people. Withholding. It works pretty effectively.

Artist LeCrae Is Bringing More Hip Hop And R&B To Gospel Music

Continued here:

Upon first listen you wouldn’t know that LeCrae is a Gospel artist. His current single “Go Hard” sounds like a cross between Kurt Franklin and Young Jeezy. His songs are catchy, the beats are banging and you sure wouldn’t catch your traditional Gospel artist reciting lines like: “Lord kill me If I don’t preach the gospel I’m still in my 20′s- but I’ll die if I got to Already dead- so forget my flesh I done been crossed over see the full court press I’m a full court mess if the Lord don’t use me” LeCrae granted Elev8.com an unprecedented interview about his album, vision and Christ. OW: How has this project differed from   previous projects? LeCrae: “Rehab is far more musical and explores issues that my other projects didn’t touch on manhood, marriage, and addiction. I think Rehab is a very transitional project it displays more of me as an artist/writer/producer and not just a rapper.” OW. In the last year, what have you learned? LeCrae: “I have learned that authenticity resonates with people. The industry can  be very misleading and is built to make people believe what they see. But people aren’t dumb they can see through that and I think real music and real people resonate.” Recently released singles “Overdose”, “Battle Song” featuring Suzy Rock, and “Blow Your High” featuring Canon have all garnered massive radio exposure in both the Christian and Hip Hop Circles. The album peaked at No. 2 on iTunes and No. 1 on the Hip-Hop chart through most of its debut week. The Rehab album is currently at # 5 is in its 23 rd week on the Billboard Charts. Rick Ross Lining Up Maybach Music Roster For Self Made

Miami don tweets Wale, Meek Mill and Pill set to appear on compilation album due May 24. By Alvin Blanco Rick Ross Photo: Jemal Countess/ Getty Images Rick Ross is wasting no time in getting his Maybach Music Group rolling. The Miami rap don announced that he’s releasing a compilation album called Self Made that will be in stores May 24. The Bawse delivered the news about the new album via Twitter , including his latest signees — DC rapper Wale, Philadelphia’s Meek Mill and Atlanta MC Pill — in the tweet. After a bidding war that included Bryan “Baby” Williams’ Cash Money Records and Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records, the Def Jam artist decided to pass on aligning with another hip-hop mogul, choosing instead to partner with the Warner Music Group to distribute his Maybach Music Group imprint. “We are thrilled to be in business with Rick Ross,” said Todd Moscowitz, co-president and CEO of Warner Bros. Records, in a statement last month. “We were drawn to his hustle. Ross is an entrepreneur who built his company from the ground up. He’s a music magnate, a lightning rod, and an empire builder. Our partnership with him is about building a brand that endures. We back his vision all the way and are ready to give him the resources he needs to pursue that vision.” Of the aforementioned artists, Wale was the first to sign with the Bawse’s label, followed by Meek Mill and Pill, who was already a Warner artist. Other acts on MMG include Gunplay, Torch and Young Breed of rap group Triple Cs as well as R&B singer Masspike Miles. Last July, Rick Ross released his fourth solo album, Teflon Don, which featured the hits “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and “Aston Martin Music” as well as the street anthem “MC Hammer.” Beginning March 18, Ross will be heading out on the road with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Travis Barker for the I Am Music II Tour . Elizabeth Hurley’s Sweet Mom Cleavage

I’m aware that I’ve already posted pictures of Elizabeth Hurley and her tasty MILF boobies on the site today, but I love this old bird so I had to post some more. Here she is walking the streets of London yesterday looking as sexy as ever in her tight jeans and tank top. On paper this outfit is pretty damn boring, the girls at the food court wear this kind of thing, but on Elizabeth it just looks right. Me thinks it’s the big old boobs.

Ashthon Jones Eliminated From ‘American Idol’

Show also featured performances from Adam Lambert and Diddy-Dirty Money. By Gil Kaufman Ashthon Jones Photo: FOX There wasn’t much drama on Thursday night’s (March 10) “American Idol” elimination show. A number of this year’s top 13 stumbled on Wednesday night, and for once, host Ryan Seacrest didn’t torture the contestants by making them wait until the show’s final moments to find out the bottom three. In the end, it was curtains for wild card Ashthon Jones, who stumbled on Wednesday night with a limp cover of Diana Ross’ “When You Tell Me That You Love Me.” Earlier in the night, after slogging through the Ford video and a trip to the “Red Riding Hood” premiere, Seacrest finally got to the business of building that bottom three, calling out Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone and Karen Rodriguez to center stage. He pulled a bit of rope-a-dope by telling all three they were safe, then adding an “except,” and it was Rodriguez who made season 10’s first long walk to the bottom three, landing there after her messy cover of Selena’s “I Could Fall in Love.” The next group featured teen Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart and Jones, with the latter an almost unanimous pick by our “Idol” experts to land in the bottom three . After tearfully admitting that the harsh criticism she got Wednesday night, well, “sucked,” Alaina was waved over to safety. In a shock, though, Seacrest then announced that after 30 million votes, both Jones and Reinhart were in the bottom three as well, ending the suspense early. Jones sang for her life one more time near show’s end, but her thin, reedy vocals were not much better than the night before, despite her clear attempt to go out with a bang. Ash broke down in tears, the judges deliberated, but it was a no-go. “Not this time, baby, I’m sorry,” Jennifer Lopez said after a long exhale, revealing that it was a unanimous no. Jones’ trip to “Idol” ended with a montage keyed to this year’s goodbye song, former “Idol” champ David Cook’s cover of Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me.” The only real drama in the show was that for the second time this season, bearded hunk of love Casey Abrams was in the hospital on Thursday night, reportedly due to stress-induced stomach problems. He made a similar trip for treatment more than a week ago. At press time a spokesperson for “Idol” said there was no additional information available about Abrams’ condition. Though it wasn’t pulled out Thursday night, Seacrest announced that the show will once again give the judges a single save this season, which they must use before the top five. Viewers also got a look at the gigantic Beverly Hills mansion the contestants will be living in this year, complete with a star-worthy swimming pool, grand piano, Ford car-shaped pool table and a kitchen that’s bigger than most New York apartments. Looking remarkably tame in a T-shirt, jeans and a black jacket, former “Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert dropped in for an acoustic run through his single “Aftermath,” which mixed his signature power high notes with some nuanced balladeering. Proceeds of the sales of a dance-remix version of the single will go to the anti-bullying Trevor Project. Also dropping in was Diddy-Dirty Money to perform “Coming Home,” complete with a dramatic piano assist from Skylar Grey . The top 12 will do it all again next week.
