Clint Eastwood’s Brawl Lessons, and Other Revelations from the J. Edgar Press Conference

At the press conference for J. Edgar , which premiered last night at AFI Fest to mixed, often hilarious reviews , stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer and Naomi Watts joined director Clint Eastwood, screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and producer Brian Grazer fielded questions about the very issues that make the biopic seem difficult to make: the ambiguity surrounding both Hoover and his confidants’ personal lives. Movieline culled the best five quotes from the panel, one of which involves 81-year-old Eastwood’s on-set brawling.

Week in Review: Real Talk Is Scary, Y’All

It was a week for real talk ’round these parts at Movieline HQ, with everything from Halloween to Lindsay Lohan’s latest legal woes bringing everyone to terms with the truth. Like the fact that no matter how many Halloweens you live through, you’ll never match Heidi Klum’s level of kookiness. Then the awful truth about the monster flop The Wolfman broke, and America’s favorite sparkly vampire dropped some cineaste science all over the Twilight crowd. What’s going on around here?

Lady Gaga To Host Thanksgiving Special

Singer will perform eight songs on ABC’s ‘A Very Gaga Thanksgiving,’ on November 24. Lady Gaga Photo: Alo Ceballos/FilmMagic It’s going to be “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving.” No, that’s not some joke about your Aunt Frannie showing up in a turkey dress for the annual family gathering, it’s the actual name of the 90-minute prime time Lady Gaga Thanksgiving special that will air on ABC on November 24. The show, which will team Gaga with veteran TV news announcer Katie Couric, was, of course, conceived and directed by Mother Monster herself and will feature the singer performing eight songs in front of a small audience of her friends and family, according to a press release announcing the show. Couric will also sit down for an interview in which she asks Gaga about the inspiration for some of her songs as the two chat at Gaga’s New York alma mater, Sacred Heart Catholic School. “We all know Lady Gaga is a phenomenon,” Couric said in a statement. “This is a chance to see more of who she is beneath the wild costumes and staged musical numbers … Lady Gaga as a high school student still bruised by being excluded from the party, Lady Gaga as a devoted daughter and caring sister, Lady Gaga as a 25-year-old woman embracing fame and fortune that seemed to come overnight. She will impress you, delight you and surprise you.”
In addition to her new single, “Marry the Night,” and other songs from Born This Way (“You and I,” “The Edge of Glory”), Gaga will perform “White Christmas” and her duet with Tony Bennett, “The Lady Is a Tramp.” Chef Art Smith will also drop in to share some recipes on the special, including his holiday classic, deep-fried turkey and waffles. The always busy Mother Monster has other plans cooking up this month. She’ll hit the U.K. “X Factor” for a performance on Sunday, November 13, where’ll also sing “Marry the Night.” Related Videos Lady Gaga: Inside The Outside Track By Track: Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Related Artists Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga Launches Born This Way Foundation

Mother Monster taps her own mom, Cynthia Germanotta, in push to fight bullying and inspire young fans. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Credit KCSPresse / Splash News Lady Gaga has always made it her mission to empower her little monsters. On Wednesday (November 2), Mother Monster announced she’s launching the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to further inspire young people. The pop superstar is even getting some help from her very own Mother Monster, Cynthia Germanotta. “My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation,” Gaga said in a statement about the foundation, which takes its name from her hit single and album . “Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment.” The foundation will work with a number of partners, including the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. According to the statement, the foundation will focus on “youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change.” Gaga has been a leader in shedding a light on the issue of bullying. She met with President Obama at a fundraiser in September to talk about the bullying epidemic, after she was touched in particular by the suicide of bullied 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer . “The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted when news of the teen’s death broke in September. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went on to post Rodemeyer’s “It Gets Better” video, urging that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.” Lady Gaga isn’t the only pop star using the public spotlight to give back. On Tuesday, Justin Bieber announced the creation of his Believe Charity Drive and noted that partial proceeds from the sale of his brand-new Under the Mistletoe album will be donated to charitable organizations. Lady Gaga Has Three Heads In New Fashion Film

Mother Monster collaborates with Thierry Mugler for latest visual art piece that debuted at Paris Fashion Week. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga (file) Photo: BuzzFoto Lady Gaga and her pal, Thierry Mugler designer Nicola Formichetti, hit Paris Fashion Week once again, dropping a new film during the Mugler women’s wear show on Wednesday. As MTV News previously reported, Gaga and Formichetti teamed up with directors Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the project. On Thursday (September 29), fans not in Paris for Fashion Week got to see a special edit of the film when it premiered online. The video, which mixes Mugler runway show footage with clips from the new Gaga film, offers another take on Mother Monster’s ever-evolving persona. It opens on a close-up of Gaga’s face, her teeth diamond-encrusted, as she says, “Sometimes, my heart sometimes feels so black … and other days my heart feels like rainbows.” She flips her multicolored hair, saying, “I am Paris. We are Paris.” In the next scene, a three-headed Gaga dances while a haunting track plays in the background. The image is reminiscent of the one that appeared on the cover of V magazine earlier this year. (As for the runway show, the clothes seen in the video are futuristic in style, in mostly muted tones.) The directors, Inez and Vinoodh, worked with Gaga on her “Yo

Julianna “Huff” Hough’s 23rd Birthday Bikini of the Day

I’m assuming the flat ass in the animal print is her mothers…cuz at 23, it’s possible her mom’s mid 40s….not that it would really matter if it was hers or not…cuz she’s spoken for… I mean if you consider being a front who may occassionally fuck Seacrest up the ass with a strap on in exchange for promises of a TV career….even though he creepily looks a lot like her brother…just adding depth to this insanity…. Cuz you know Ryan Searest is the brain behind Keeping Up With the Kardashians…it is his monster that he made happen and nothing can be trusted that is from, around, involved with that fucking queer…. It’s all some kind of lie… But she is 23, in a bikini, and I’m posting it, even though I’m just giving into the bullshit that I know this bitch is…and more importantly that without a sex tape she doesn’t deserve any of this…
