I’m not sure if any of you were in the mood for some mother daughter bikini pictures, if you were you might have a bit of a problem, but here’s Shauna Sand and her daughter on the beach in their bikinis and stripper heels. Classy. I don’t know how old the daughter is, but her face needs more work than her mom’s. Poor kid. At least mom’s got those big fake breasts working hard as diversionary tactics.
‘That would work for me,’ Rosado jokes to MTV News about his awards-filled, post-‘Idol’ plans. By James Montgomery Jeremy Rosado Photo: MTV News Jeremy Rosado wasn’t exactly surprised to hear his name called during last week’s “American Idol” elimination show — telling USA Today he had a “gut feeling” that his time was up — but he was rather shocked to hear “Idol” mentor Jimmy Iovine’s criticisms of his performance … mostly because he didn’t think they were warranted. “I didn’t think that it was as bad as a couple of them were saying; but, you know, Jimmy’s a great guy, and he was hoping for the best … unfortunately I guess to him it didn’t turn out the way he wanted,” Rosado told MTV News. “But, I’m grateful, and I’m grateful to [“Idol” judges] Randy [Jackson] and Steven [Tyler] as well. No matter what happened, there were 112,000 people that auditioned for the show, and praise God, they chose me to be in their top 13, you know? I couldn’t be more grateful.” Of course, Rosado is most grateful to “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez, who not only seemed to be his biggest supporter on the show, but coined his now ubiquitous nickname: Jer-Bear. And then, after he had been eliminated, well, she helped change his mood considerably. “Jer-Bear, yeah, I think I’m going to try and get it copyrighted or something,” he laughed. “Jennifer gave me a kiss on my check twice, and I got eliminated that day, but she made me feel a little bit better … a lot bit better. And to think someone like her or [last week’s mentor] Mary J. Blige [could] fall in love with my voice, and with me as a person? That doesn’t happen every day, so I’m forever grateful.” And though he’ll be the first to admit that his nerves got the better of him last week — “Not being voted into the top 13 definitely played with my head a lot,” he said — he’s already realizing the benefits that being showcased on “Idol” are pretty great … and he’s looking to take full advantage of them. “I love acting, and singing is definitely my #1 passion; I’m definitely going to continue to sing,” he said. “And hopefully, this is the huge dream, I’m just going to lay it out for you: I’m going to be on a TV show, I’m going to be in a couple movies, I’m going to win an Oscar — this is what I want — I want to win 17 Grammys and, I think that’s good. … That would work for me.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Brad and Angelina’s wedding plan, talking to George Clooney and 3-D desserts are a few things we’ll remember about this year’s Academy Awards. By Josh Horowitz On the red carpet for Sunday’s Academy Awards Photo: MTV News So I guess this means the 2013 Academy Awards season has begun? I jest (kinda). But it seems like this past awards season lasted forever. I mean, it kind of did. Legit contenders had emerged by the time the Cannes film festival began last May. By now, I’m pretty sure the stars of “The Artist” are sick of the sounds of their own voices … I mean, if they had spoken in the film. You know what I mean. Last night was a fine sendoff to another fun awards season. I had a blast covering my fourth Oscars red carpet. It’s always a true privilege to be a tiny part of something I’ve been obsessed with since I was old enough to watch TV. One of the true pleasures of doing the awards season circuit for MTV News is getting a chance to talk to some of the folks I’ve worshipped from afar for years, and this go-round was no different. Last night, Christopher Plummer, Gary Oldman, Kenneth Branagh and Nick Nolte all stopped to chat with me on the carpet. The 14-year-old Josh is very impressed. And then there are the newbies. Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain, even Shailene Woodley (unjustly looked over by the Academy) all were red-carpet regulars over the last few months and will surely be for many years to come. It’s hard to sum up a nearly four-hour red carpet in a few paragraphs, but here are a few select moments I’ll look back on with a smile from the 84th Academy Awards red carpet. George Clooney gets everyone excited. Perhaps the most embarrassing moment for me last night came when “Muppets” Best Song winner Bret McKenzie mentioned Clooney was nearby and I got embarrassingly excited. Like, too excited for a heterosexual man. Oh well, that guy is charming. Just take a look at our chat together. Choose your questions for Angelina Jolie carefully. Of course, it was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who arrived last on the Oscars red carpet. Side note: Strangely, Christopher Lloyd arrived right around the same time. Anyway, Angelina was breezing by so the talk was quick, but damn, that lady is a movie star (I know, breaking news). She told me she thinks of her mom (now deceased) when she thinks of the Oscars since her Academy Award win was such a proud moment for her. Then, of course, I broke the mood by asking her if she and Brad planned their wedding to be a similar size as the Oscars. With a laugh she was on her way. Never got around asking her and Brad to adopt me. Wolfgang Puck serves food in 3-D. Who’s been going to the Oscars for 18 years and is always the most popular guy at the Governors Ball? Why, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck of course. He was my first interview of the night and might have been my favorite. At least the oddest. I think we also had our first fight as Wolfgang explained to me that he was serving a 3-D dessert this year while wearing those silly old-school glasses. I insisted all desserts are in 3-D. There was tension. And begrudging respect. I think. You too can be nominated for an Oscar! OK, just to clarify, I’m not saying it’s easy to get an Oscar nomination. But when an honest-to-goodness friend of yours gets one, it rocks your world a bit. Anything is possible! In this case I’m talking about Andrew Bowler, an old acquaintance from years past, who made it to the big show with his wife Gigi Causey for their great short film “Time Freak.” Seeing Andrew enjoy his well-deserved big moment on the carpet was surreal and awesome. Ho sit down … Usher reportedly acted like a top class diva earlier last weekend when he visited a restaurant in Hollywood: The ‘Climax’ singer rolled up to the Cleo restaurant in the Redbury Hotel with an entourage of about 10 people, but he wasn’t in the mood to be friendly with the people who would be serving the large group. A source told NY Post’s Page Six that Usher kept his sunglasses on all night – even throughout the dinner – so that he wouldn’t have to make contact with the wait staff. “Apparently the staff was not allowed to speak to him directly. All interaction had to happen through one of his staffers,” the source told the publication. Oh, oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh my God… Do you believe Usher would be such a diva? I don’t know what it is lately, but I’ve been in the mood for some shots of a sexy old cougar feeding a parking meter in a tight shirt. Here’s Rose McGowan seductively slipping her well used coins into a sexy parking meter coinslot the other day. Hot stuff. I know this shouldn’t be turning me on, coins are filthy, but I can’t help myself. The woman knows what I like. Enjoy.

First single from just-released Some Nights is ‘saying all the things to people that we want to say,’ guitarist Jack Antonoff tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Nate Ruess of Fun. Photo: MTV News Fun. ‘s “We Are Young” has become one of the year’s most-unlikely sensations, leaping all the way to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart — behind only Kelly Clarkson and Adele — thanks in no small part to massive digital sales, a plum feature on “Glee” and, of course, that iconic, chaotic music video. So now, with a certified hit to their credit, Fun. are gearing up for the next phase of their climb: the release of their second studio album, Some Nights , out Tuesday (February 21). It’s a whirling, ambitious listen, the sound of a band busting boundaries and reaching for bigger and better things — “It’s been a long time coming, and we want it to take over the world,” frontman Nate Ruess said — so it’s fitting that it’s been preceded by “We Are Young,” a song that very much busts boundaries, and gets unapologetically big. “That song, to us, is like bull’s-eye center of what we wanted to do with this album,” guitarist Jack Antonoff told MTV News. “It’s a brilliant song to have out as a single, because it’s saying all the things to people that we want to say. It’s showing how, artistically, [the album is] different, it’s showing all the influences brought by Jeff Bhasker, who produced the album, and all he brings from his hop-hop world, working with people like Kanye and Jay-Z. And it shows where we’ve moved with songwriting. “And one of our favorite things about ‘We Are Young’ is that, if it’s the center of the album, every song is sprouting out of it in different directions,” he continued. “And if you like the song, then I think the album’s just going to be a rollercoaster ride, because it just flies in every direction in and out of that song.” In that regard, “We Are Young” has also become Fun.’s de facto anthem — by their own admission, their first — the song that they feel speaks best for this band, at this moment, on the verge of very big things. “It’s pretty rare, because any other projects that we’ve done, I don’t think any of us have ever had that song that was like, ‘This is our band,’ ” Antonoff said. “We’re proud to say, ‘Listen to this one song, and then come listen to the rest. Here it is.’ ” Share your review of Fun.’s new album in the comments below!
‘We really are attached to everybody’s journey, and so I’m really excited to see how that all plays out,’ actress tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Elizabeth Banks Photo: MTV News It’s hard not to love Elizabeth Banks. She’s smart, funny, pretty, makes great choices with her roles in film and television and just seems like an all-around great person. And although we’ve been fans of Banks’ work for years, it’s her role as Effie Trinkett in “The Hunger Games” that has us almost bouncing off the walls with excitement. When MTV News caught up with Banks recently, we asked what scenes she’s most looking forward to see on the big screen when the film opens March 23. “I have not seen much of the arena, so I’m excited to see the actual Games. It’s very emotional. We really become very attached to the characters, even Cato and Thresh, kind of the bad guys of the book,” Banks said. “We really are attached to everybody’s journey, and so I’m really excited to see how that all plays out.” Banks said that, for her part, the Reaping was the most challenging and fulfilling sequence to shoot. “The Reaping is amazing. We get so see a heroine step forward and show herself for the first time and come to life, and it was a really remarkable scene to shoot. It was difficult to shoot under insane conditions, about 105 degrees the couple days we shot it. We had all these young kids there dropping like flies,” Banks recalled. “It was madness, and it’s also the only time we spend in District 12.” Banks added that the best way to take the edge off the extreme temperatures and conditions during the filming of the Reaping was to lighten the mood between takes. “I think whenever it’s difficult, one of my favorite ways to deal with it is to joke around. We take the work seriously, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Woody [Harrelson] is a great partner in crime,” she said of her humorous co-star. “He tells really off-color jokes and is fantastically self-deprecating and fun to be around.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hunger Games.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘[We’re going to record it] in space. To tape,’ frontman Dave Grohl says of follow-up to Wasting Light. By James Montgomery Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Photo: Peter Wafzig/ Getty Images Hours before Dave Grohl cemented his status as the secret MVP of the 54th Grammy Awards with a Jeremy Lin-like performance that included a Slayer T-shirt, a time-limit-be-damned acceptance speech and a three-minute guitar duel with Bruce Springsteen, the Foo Fighters frontman was in the mood to celebrate. After all, by the time the Foos chatted with MTV News on the Grammy red carpet, they had already won an armload of awards, including Best Rock Album , Best Rock Song and Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance (“I feel so bad for the Dream Theater guy,” Grohl joked). So when we asked him for details on his upcoming documentary — and rumors of an accompanying album — well, Grohl let the details spill forth like so much celebratory champagne. “We released a teaser trailer … there may be an album that accompanies [it],” Grohl said. “I recorded a lot of songs with a lot of people in the past couple months. There used to be a recording studio called Sound City that was in the San Fernando Valley. Nirvana recorded there in 1991. It was this really beautiful dump in the middle of a warehouse district. A lot of great records were made there. “Fleetwood Mac made records there; Neil Young made records there. Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Dio, Ratt, Pat Benatar, Rick Springfield, Rage Against the Machine did their first record there, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica … Evel Knievel, Charles Manson recorded there, Barry White, Johnny Cash,” he continued. “So I interview them to tell the history of the studio, but then I invite them back to record with me, and we make a record.” While there’s still no firm release date for either the “Sound City” film or soundtrack, it’s not the only project on Grohl’s plate at the moment: There’s also the matter of the Foos’ follow-up to the Grammy-winning Wasting Light album, which will once again re-team the band with producer Butch Vig and may very well re-up the “no computers” ethos employed during the making of that disc. Grohl will admit that there is an ambitious recording plan in place, though he wouldn’t reveal the details just yet. “We have an idea. It’s kind of a really big idea,” he said. “[We’re going to record it] in space. To tape. An analog moonshot.” What are you hoping to see on the Foo Fighters’ next album? Leave your comment below!
