Robert Pattinson and company gave Twilight Saga fans a look at Breaking Dawn Part 2 during last Thursday’s MTV Video Music Awards, presenting a minute-plus montage of clips from the upcoming blockbuster. And now Summit Entertainment has gone a step further, posting the full-length trailer online from which that footage was taken. It depicts: Bella as a hungry, athletic vampire, taking on a mountain lion, diving off clips and preparing for battle against the Volturi. Lee Pace as Garrett and his shocking first encounter with Casey LaBow’s Kate. Scenes from the epic final battle that will bring this franchise to a close. What are you waiting for? You may never see Pattinson and Kristen Stewart this close ever again! Watch now:
A month after the 2012 Summer Olympics came to a close, Sunday night marked another fantastic show for the closing ceremonies of the Paralympics in London. Coldplay, Rihanna and Jay-Z certainly bring star power to an event. Lights, lasers and fireworks served as a backdrop for the stars’ performance, along with a montage of the Paralympics Games’ best moments on the screen. Watch their collaboration on “Run This Town” and “Paradise” here:
Having said goodbye to her mother for the final time last week, Robin Roberts took to Twitter this morning and bid farewell to her fans. But only for now. In light of her pending bone marrow transplant to treat a rare blood disorder, the Good Morning America co-anchor Tweeted the following note a few hours ago: Roberts is expected to miss two to three months as she deals with this surgery and subsequent recovery. In her place, GMA will seat such major names as Katie Couric, Barbara Walters and Kelly Ripa alongside George Stephanopoulos. But they are merely keeping Roberts’ spot warm, of course. She has every intention of returning to the morning program and we have every intention of tuning in once she does. Get better soon, Robin! We’re all pulling for you.
ABC’s Nightline To Air First Interview With Evelyn Lozada Since Chad Johnson’s Arrest We knew Evelyn Lozada planned on giving ABC her first interview since Chad Johnson’s arrest, but since it was reported that she originally planned to interview with “Good Morning America” reporter Robin Roberts we weren’t expecting to see it until next week. Well, it looks like the folks at ABC couldn’t wait and “Nightline” will air part of the interview tonight with the full interview airing on “Good Morning America” next week. BOSSIP sources say it should be a revealing talk, since nothing was off limits (except of course the terms of Evelyn and Chad’s pre-nup $$$!). Lozada sat down with GMA’s Amy Robach earlier this week and we’re expecting some clips to find their way online any minute now… if “Nightline” knows how to properly tease an eagerly awaiting audience. Will you be watching? What do you think Evelyn will say? Our bets are on this being a real tearjerker.
Ann Curry may be gone , but problems at The Today Show remain. With ratings continuing to decline and the program losing out to Good Morning America on a regular basis, blame is starting to make its way all around to the show’s golden boy: Matt Lauer. “Staffers and producers at the Today Show hold Matt Lauer responsible for the continued decline in the ratings because they hold him responsible for Ann Curry being fired,” a source tells Radar. “The staff wants Ann to be brought back and want Matt replaced with [weekend anchor] Lester Holt, but they know the odds of this happening are slim to none.” That’s for sure. Lauer just signed a mammoth contract to remain lead anchor. Still, it bears asking: Who would you prefer to see behind the main desk? While we don’t see another staff change happening any time soon, one must wonder how the program will respond if Al Roker and company continue to openly mock Lauer on the air. It’s suddenly getting more awkward on NBC morning than it will when Robert Pattinson walks Kristen Stewart down the Breaking Dawn red carpet.
What type of bad karma Tyler got comin’ back for him?? Tyler Perry’s Atlanta Studio Catches Fire For Second Time This Year Atlanta firefighters were on the scene of a fire late Monday morning at Tyler Perry Studios. The fire is the second blaze in recent months at the studios on Continental Colony Parkway in southeast Atlanta. Fire officials have not released information on Monday’s blaze, but police dispatchers reported that the roof of a building at the complex was on fire. The fire was apparently in a three-story, 100 by 200-foot building. Video from the Channel 2 Action News helicopter showed about two dozen firefighters on the roof of the building, but no smoke showing at 11:30 a.m. In early May, the exterior of a building in the 30-acre complex was heavily damaged be fire. The interior of that building sustained some water damage. It was not immediately known whether the building on fire Monday was the same building that caught fire on May 1. The 200,000-square-foot studio, which opened in 2008, is home to sets, sound stages and a 400-seat theater. In March, Perry hosted a fundraiser for President Barack Obama at the studio. It’s going to be interesting to hear how the firefighters explain how this fire started. Two fires in just a few months? Sounds suspect to us… Image via John Spink/AJC Source Continue reading →
Robin Roberts Leaves GMA To Prepare For Surgery via TMZ Robin Roberts will begin her medical leave from “Good Morning America” on Friday … so she can undergo bone marrow transplant surgery. Earlier this year, Roberts announced she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) … a disease that attacks the blood and bone marrow. Roberts says her sister is the bone marrow donor … explaining, “[She] is a perfect match and she’s been spending a lot of time with me. She’s been taking shots to help her prepare.” Roberts says the procedure is scheduled for Tuesday … and says she plans to return to work following her recovery. “I know I’m going to have a job when I come back.” As TMZ previously reported, “GMA” is planning to use a roster of star-studded subs to fill in for Roberts during her absence. We wish Robin a speedy recovery and look forward to her GMA return. Continue reading →
And… she’s back! Yes, already. Less than a month after taking a medical leave of absence from Good Morning America , due to a rare blood disorder, Robin Roberts returned to the co-anchor’s chair this morning alongside George Stephanopoulos. “My needle was past ‘E’ when I left here a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve got a full tank so watch out,” the 51-year-old told viewers, adding that her three-week vacation included a trip to Italy. “I haven’t taken this much time off in quite some time.” Robert was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome earlier this year and will undergo a bone marrow transplant on September 5. She’ll continue to receive chemotherapy treatments as well. But nothing could dampen her spirits this morning, as the GMA mainstay since 2005 added via Twitter: “Merry Monday@GMA. Great to be back with George, Sam, Josh, Lara and YOU! Rested and rarin’ to go again….you have been warned. 🙂 xxoo”
Sorry, Today Show . But we have a feeling Good Morning America will beat you in the ratings once again next week. At least on August 15. Robert Pattinson has booked his first interview since Kristen Stewart confirmed to the world that she cheated on him earlier this year with director Rupert Sanders . He’ll sit down with the CBS program next Wednesday in promotion of the film Cosmopolis . It seems highly unlikely that the actor will be asked any questions about his personal life, but the interview will be conducted live and it may be too difficult to the show to resist throwing some Stewart-related question Rob’s way. We’ll certainly be tuning in to find out. Sources say Pattinson was out at a bar in California Friday night, looking sober and mostly in good spirits. However, an insider tells Us Weekly that “Rob’s a total mess, trying to figure out why Kristen did this.” Will we get any insight at all into his mental state next Wednesday? Or will be in full-on movie promotion mode? Viewers around the country are already counting down the seconds until we can see for ourselves.
Last night’s landing of the Mars Science Laboratory, also known as the rover Curiosity, had all the excitement, drama and pathos of a major Hollywood film. Or, at least, the pre-title sequence of a major Hollywood film. If we do soon find ourselves re-living the historic moment on the big screen, we’ve got some casting suggestions for last night’s adventure. Big shot producers, you don’t owe us a thing — just save us a room on the Ark when it’s time to move to Venus, m’kay? (I don’t know about you, but while everyone was cheering and hugging I expected a quiet guy in the back to rise up from his seat, point at his screen and say, “Guys? Guys? I’m picking up something that I can’t quite— ” And then the lights would flicker, the floor would buckle, all the scientists’ eyes would bleed out and a grotesque voice would shout “WHO DARES DISTURB ME?!?!!?!?!?”) Tom Sizemore as Adam Steltzner Known as the “face of the Mars Science Laboratory,” this media-friendly genius is the designer of the “sky crane” that got Curiosity safely to the otherworldy ground. According to an NPR interview, Steltzner’s career as a scientist came after an adolescence studying sex, drugs and rock and roll. As such, we think Sizemore fits Steltzner like a glove. Taylor Lautner as Bobak Ferdowsi If Steltzner is the face then Ferdowsi is the hair. It isn’t just the mohawk, it’s the colored stars on the side that made him an instant Internet sensation. He went from around one thousand Twitter followers to twenty thousand Twitter followers in as much time as it takes to bounce a radio signal back from Mars. Ferdowski is was known as the “activity lead” on the landing. We’re not 100% sure what that is, but we know what his next mission will be: PR. With Ferdowski’s meme-ready ‘do, NASA got handed its biggest, fattest wet kiss since Alan Shepherd played golf on the moon. As we type, Good Morning America and the Today Show are no doubt engaged in an old school Cold War space race to get Ferdowsi on the air. Let’s throw the guy a bone and cast Taylor Lautner in the role (though we could also see Sanjaya from American Idol doing the job.) Brent Spiner’s Dr. Brackish Okun as Steve Collins Proving that not ALL of NASA are post-racial hipsters with awesome hair, Steve Collins is an old school dork and God love him for it! His position is that of “Attitude Control Engineer,” which means that it’s his job to go up to Miss Thangs that think they’re all that and say “Uh-uh, you BEST adjust your attitude before I come in and need to take control.” Then he snaps his fingers. Clearly the man for the role is Brent Spiner, who already played Steve Collins’ twin brother in Independence Day. Austin Pendleton as Miguel San Martin Miguel San Martin is the Chief Engineer of Guidance, Navigation and Control for the Mash Science Laboratory. In his spare time he’s warning puppets everywhere about the proliferation of frogs legs on fast food menus. Michelle Monaghan as Jennifer Eigenbrode Now that Curiosity has landed it has to collect all sorts of Martian data, right? And somebody back on Earth has to look at that and figure out what it all means. That person clearly isn’t going to be Damon Lindelof , who can’t even give us straight answers for a planet he makes up in his own mind. It’s going to be biogeochemists like Jennifer Eigenbrode . In the role of Dr. Eigenbrode, we cast the sweet and chipper Michelle Monaghan. And we’re totes shippers for an Eigenbrode/Ferdowski love affair. She’s supporting him as he anxiously tries to land the rover, then he frets his brow as she analyzes data. Ahhhh, young smart love!!! Have your own NASA dream stars? Leave ’em below.
