WATCH: Russell Brand Better Keep Mark Wahlberg Out Of Movie Awards Monologue

‘I hope he doesn’t say nothin’ smart about me, because he’s going to ‘unpredictably’ get his ass whooped,’ ‘Fighter’ star jokes to MTV News. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Mark Wahlberg Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Mark Wahlberg has a message for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards host: Crack the wrong jokes, Russell Brand , and you’d better duck. Speaking to MTV News backstage at the taping of the Spike TV’s “Guys Choice Awards” on Saturday night, the man whose real-life boxing skills were on display in “The Fighter” acknowledged that the English comedian has a reputation for being unpredictable. “I hope he does a good job,” Wahlberg cautioned. “I hope he doesn’t say nothin’ smart about me, because he’s going to ‘unpredictably’ get his ass whooped.” Wahlberg wore a sly grin as he delivered his beat-down promise, detailing further what might happen should Brand say something too biting from the Gibson Amphitheatre stage tonight (June 3): “I would put the worst insult of all time on him, for sure. And it’s an easy thing to do, given his look.” The tongue-in-cheek rant was delivered to MTV News’ own Josh Horowitz, who has been comically menaced by Wahlberg on several occasions. The pair have continued their playful banter on red carpets and at events ever since that infamous episode of “The Knife Show,” which went viral. The 40-year-old actor/producer will be one of the presenters at the Movie Awards Sunday night, which will put him in close proximity to his possible target. “No, no, he’s a funny guy,” Wahlberg said, letting up for a second. Then the taunts resumed: “But, you know, listen: f— around, lay around — you know me.” An obscenities-laden rant that bobbed and weaved in and out of an English accent followed. “Listen, I love ya, baby, but this ain’t the mother—— to be f—ing with. This ain’t the U.K., baby. This is where you get the ole’ smack,” he said. After the last two Golden Globes awards shows, at least one other British comedian developed a certain reputation for “roast”-style performances while hosting. “I hope [Brand] is a proper U.K. comic like Ricky Gervais and Steve Coogan,” Wahlberg said, still mining his convincing British accent. Wahlberg, of course, was playing all of it for laughs, frequently cracking a smile, but he did issue a further warning to Brand: stay away from the cast of his upcoming movie, “Ted.” Mila Kunis, Seth McFarlane, and for some reason, the star of “Mad Men” (who isn’t in “Ted”) are off limits. “Listen, I’m telling you, if he f—s with me, I’m the wrong dude to f— with. And don’t f— with my people, either! Don’t say sh– about Mila, don’t say sh– about Seth. And don’t say sh– about Jon Hamm. I don’t know him, but, I’m putting him under my wing.” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to cast your vote for Best Hero and Best Movie now! Kristen Stewart Takes Us Inside Her Most Difficult ‘Snow White’ Scene

Best Kiss nominee and Movie Awards presenter says she was ‘so not ready’ for film’s emotionally charged speech. By Amy Wilkinson, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — In her latest film, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” actress Kristen Stewart proves that the fabled heroine is not only fair, but incredibly fierce. Suiting up in armor and wielding a glinting sword, Snow White must save her kingdom from the clutches of her evil stepmother, Queen Ravenna (played by Charlize Theron ). Yet, for as much onscreen bravery as she showed, Stewart was admittedly apprehensive about one scene in particular, she revealed during Sneak Peek Week, leading up to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET, where the actress is also a presenter. Stewart, along with co-star Sam Claflin , took to the Universal Studios CityWalk stage to debut an exclusive clip from the film and participate in a 30-minute Q&A session. When asked by a fan in the audience which scene was the most emotional for her to film, the Best Kiss nominee hesitated before recalling a moment late in the movie in which Snow White rallies her troops. Clad in a billowing white gown, Stewart delivers a rousing monologue, encouraging the townspeople to take up arms against the Queen — not for her sake but for their own. “It kept getting kicked to the end of the schedule. It was like, ‘I’m so not ready for that; put that one off a little longer,’ ” Stewart recalled. “Every single day we were re-writing it. I still need to frame that thing — laminate it somehow and give it to Rupert [Sanders] the director — the different renditions of it. It’s disintegrating.” Co-star Claflin was quick to praise Stewart for her performance in the movie’s pivotal moment. “The girl was wearing no shoes in the coldest day of English history and was wearing, like, a nightie,” Claflin said. “I don’t know how she did it, honestly. Man power. Woman power. Girl power … she did a smashing job on that.” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! Russell Brand Has Free Reign As Movie Awards Host

‘There is no yelling at Russell,’ executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic tells MTV News about the host’s big night. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz and Jim Cantiello Russell Brand Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Russell Brand is like John Locke : Nobody tells him what he can and can’t do. When the British actor and comedian steps onto the Gibson Amphitheatre’s stage Sunday night as host of the MTV Movie Awards , he’ll be able to do literally whatever he wants — he just might get yelled at about it later. Speaking with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz ahead of his Movie Awards appearance, Brand was asked if there are any restrictions on what he can or cannot do, what he can or cannot say, come the big evening. According to the man himself, the answer is a resounding “no,” but that doesn’t mean there isn’t the threat of consequences looming over his head. “[The producers] just go, ‘Do whatever you want!’ And then one hour later they’ll say, ‘You shouldn’t have done that,’ ” he said with all the signature energy that Brand’s become known for. “It’s a weird technique!” But the producers behind the Movie Awards tell a very different tale. When Jim Cantiello spoke with executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic, it became clear that Russell’s capacity to do hilariously bad things onstage is not just limitless, but endorsed by the folks behind the scenes. “No, that’s wrong,” Ignjatovic said when asked if Brand is going to get scolded if he pushes things too far. “There’s no yelling at Russell. It’s all love. The show ends, we go and we hug him, and we tell him it’s great. It’s all love.” Russell, we sure do hope you’re reading this — if you’re to take Mr. Ignjatovic’s words as gospel, then you just might be able to fulfill your greatest wishes come Sunday evening’s end. “MTV Movie Awards incorporates two of my favorite things: movies and awards,” Brand said when he was initially announced for the hosting gig. “If somehow group sex could be involved it would be the greatest night of my life.” So, yeah — we’re not trying to say you can turn this into the MTV Group Sex Awards you’ve dreamed of, Russell, but we might be trying to say that. How Did Jennifer Lawrence Get An Arrow In The Head?

Get an exclusive first look at ‘Hunger Games’ star’s MTV Movie Awards appearance; short film producer Jordan Rubin fills us in! By Kara Warner Photo: MTV That old adage about a picture being worth a thousand words is particularly appropriate for this sneak peek of “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence’s appearance in a short film set to debut during the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (June 3). The photo clearly shows Lawrence with an arrow through her head, and given her unimpressed, annoyed expression when the pic was snapped, she doesn’t look too pleased about the situation. But not to worry: The arrow through her head is all for the sake of Movie Awards comedy, for which Lawrence was totally game. MTV News recently caught up with Movie Awards short film producer Jordan Rubin to get the behind-the-scenes scoop about how Lawrence came to be involved. “The idea generated from this year being the year of archery,” Rubin said. “Archery has really come back in a big way, so it seemed like a good thing to do as a jumping-off point for some comedy. “You have ‘The Hunger Games,’ Jeremy Renner [as Hawkeye] in ‘Avengers,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ also ‘Brave’ is coming out,” Rubin added. “It’s good comedy fodder, and Jen totally got it. We were so happy she made time.” According to Rubin, the short film revolves around an archery coach who is not necessarily liked by a lot of people in the industry. It features Joel McHale and a cameo from Lawrence. “[Lawrence] was really funny and gave us a lot of different options and was great at the comedy,” Rubin said. Robert Pattinson: KStew Will ‘Kiss Herself’ At Movie Awards

Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are up for their fourth Best Kiss award at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, airing Sunday at 9 p.m. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Laura Whitmore Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News There are only a few more hours left to cast your votes for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , and should you need more reason to throw your support behind four-time Best Kiss nominees and three-time winners Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson , we have one for you, courtesy of Pattinson himself. When MTV UK recently caught up with the actor during an early press day for his highly anticipated film “Cosmopolis,” we asked him about his chances in bringing home a fourth golden popcorn trophy for his smooch with Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and if they have plans to make a creative acceptance speech if they win. “I don’t know,” he said. “We didn’t get nominated for anything else. I’m like, ‘Grr,’ ” Pattinson joked about their film’s two nominations this year, versus the multiple nominations in previous years. “[I won’t be there because] I have to be in Toronto for ‘Cosmopolis,’ but I think Kristen is going so she’s going to kiss herself if she wins.” When asked about the specifics of Stewart’s plans for kissing herself, Pattinson didn’t want to give too much away. “People have to vote [to see]!” he said with a laugh. So what does Pattinson’s leading lady think of their chances for winning the award a fourth year in a row? “You know, you can’t have too many expectations going into that,” Stewart told MTV News recently during her appearance at our Sneak Peek Week Q&A for “Snow White and the Huntsman.” “There’s a lot going into that, just to be there is a huge honor. The 22-year-old actress went on to say that she is still surprised to have taken home any Best Kiss awards, given the very memorable onscreen kisses performed by previous winners. “When I was young, the [Best] Kiss was always a big thing, that’s why winning always [seemed impossible]. I think the ‘Spider-Man’ [kiss] I always imagined, ‘You’re never going to be able [to live up to that] and then the ‘Notebook’ [kiss] happened and then [I thought], ‘I’m never going to try and top those.’ ” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! Will ‘Magic Mike’ Cast Strip At MTV Movie Awards?

Movie’s co-stars Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey will be sitting front and center at the Movie Awards on Sunday night. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Channing Tatum in “Magic Mike” Photo: Warner Bros. UNIVERSAL CITY, California — We’d be lying if we said that we weren’t looking forward to a surprise striptease from the cast of “Magic Mike” during the 2012 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and the rest of the cast are going to be sitting front and center in the audience, so it would be a prime location for them to get up and start grinding among the likes of Kristen Stewart and Emma Watson. Fortunately, Movie Awards executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic has a backup plan in case the guys do decide to get their groove on during the show, which airs live tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET. It just might not be a plan that viewers at home are big fans of. “We go to the big wide shot that’s facing out the door,” he said with a laugh when asked what he’d do if the “Magic Mike” gang started to get naked. Boo to that! Fortunately those men aren’t the only ones in attendance who are famous for getting naked on the big screen. Michael Fassbender will also be gracing the Movie Awards audience, and Ignjatovic said that there’s a (very slim) chance he could try some stripping too. At the same time, we might not even want to see Tatum and his castmembers show off their rocking bods during the Movie Awards, because they might not be so rocking anymore. Tatum teased during our that the pre-shoot regimen for the movie was much more strenuous than what came after. “I think pre-movie is pretty intense because to get butt naked, you have to — there’s a different regimen for getting butt naked, but thank god, it was a short shoot,” Tatum said with a sly grin. “Then we just had fun on the day.” Somehow we doubt the men have let themselves go in the time since, but we’ll use that as our excuse in case we don’t get the Movie Awards all-male striptease we so desire. ‘Project X’ Star Proclaims Himself ‘America’s Dirtbag’

Oliver Cooper is desperate to win the Best Onscreen Dirtbag prize at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Oliver Cooper Photo: MTV News Oliver Cooper wants your vote! The “Project X” star is nominated for a couple of MTV Movie Awards , but it’s the Best Onscreen Dirtbag prize that he’s really after. While promoting this year’s awards show, Cooper petitioned America for their vote. “Listen. Is America listening right now? I want you to vote for me for Best Onscreen Dirtbag because, truly, I am a dirtbag,” he said. This isn’t the first time Cooper has tried to swing the vote . But instead of pointing out why the other contenders — including Colin Farrell, Jon Hamm and Jennifer Aniston — shouldn’t get the award, he explains why he thinks he should. “I f—ed up an entire neighborhood. I didn’t care about my friends. I still don’t care about those guys, OK? What else did I do in that movie? I don’t even remember. It’s all a blur. I don’t even care about the movie — that’s how much of a dirtbag I am,” he said. “I just want that goddamn popcorn, so I can have a career.” That’s when things start to get a little sad. Cooper explains how he’s at the brink of bursting out into Hollywood and needs a Golden Popcorn to help get him there. “Everybody else out there, they’ve got careers, they’re doing movies all over the world. Me? I’m living with my aunt right now. In Encino,” he said. “I’m Jewish, but I haven’t been to temple in over three years. Honestly, I’m a little confused. I don’t have a girlfriend. Recently, the girls I’ve been seeing, they don’t even speak English. Seriously. And that’s because I don’t want to talk to them.” And that’s where it all comes together for Cooper: managing to make us feel bad for him while reviling him at the same time. “I’m a dirtbag,” he promised. “I’m America’s dirtbag.” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now!
