But the hunky werewolf’s loyalists might want to make room on their plate for a completely different rivalry: Team Jacob vs. Team Situation? While walking the red carpet at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , “Jersey Shore” castmates Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino were asked to weigh in on which star had the better “situation” going on: the “Jersey Shore” star or Taylor Lautner. For Ronnie, it’s not even a question who has the better shirtless situation: “You’ve got to go with the Situation, the original.” But the Situation himself seemed to be looking for a humble and amicable resolution. Instead, he offered: “You know what? The Situation is called the Situation for a reason. There can only be one Situation.” It’s hard to say whether Ronnie and the Situation’s opinions reflect those of the rest of the “Jersey Shore” cast, as Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino told MTV News earlier in the night that they’re fans of the “Twilight” actors. “I’m a fan of them,” Pauly D revealed, with Vinny adding: “I wish everybody success. We’re both doing our thing right now, and we’re both guests at the MTV Movie Awards. Can’t ask for anything more than that, you know?” They might feel that way now, but what if they were asked who had the better hair between Pauly and RPattz? That would be a whole different “situation” altogether. ‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson Feels ‘Agile’ With New Haircut

By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News About a week before the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , Robert Pattinson — a multiple nominee for his role in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” — got some very stern, profanity-laced advice about his hair from Hollywood “mega mogul”/ dance machine Les Grossman. The producer warned the actor, who was considering a shave and a wash for his usual bed-head, not to do anything different to his shaggy mane. “Your filthy hair made you a star,” Grossman raged at RPattz . “Your filthy hair made me hundreds of millions of dollars!” But it seems Pattinson didn’t much care for Grossman’s two cents, as he showed up Sunday night sporting a clean, freshly cut new ‘do. When MTV News caught up with the “Twilight” heartthrob backstage, we had to ask the Movie Award winner whether he felt any different with his short hair. Specifically, whether he’d lost any superpowers — like the ability to incite uncontrollable screaming or to inspire inexplicable, cross-generational obsession from teens, tweens and housewives — since taking clippers to his famously untamed mane. “No,” Pattinson said, humbly denying any superhero capabilities. “I feel so much better, so much better … It’s like having, I don’t know, I feel like I’m wearing two wigs most of the time. So yeah, I feel like agile and stuff. You feel like you’ve got a six-pack already, as soon as you cut your hair.” Maybe he’s gearing up to give muscled-up “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner some competition in the abs department? T.I. Says He’ll Bring New ‘Insight’ To King Uncaged

Photo: Getty Images T.I. is feverishly at work on his forthcoming album, King Uncaged, his first collection of new music since finishing his federal prison sentence earlier this year for a 2007 gun rap. The Atlanta MC has rolled out two tracks, “I’m Back” and “Yeah Ya Know (Takers),” in addition to his recently released F— a Mixtape. After going through a challenging period in his life, with the death of his best friend and jail time, the rapper has a new perspective on things. “I’m older. I’m wiser. I’m more mature,” Tip told MTV News on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards , his first awards show since leaving prison . “I’m more patient. And I just take it as it comes.” So does that mean we’ll be seeing a more conscious Tip on his next project? “Nah, not at all,” he said. “I still feel like I have my edge. But I have some intellect and insight to go with it. I feed off of all my experiences, music-wise.” For now, T.I. continues to work on King Uncaged, slated for a late-summer release. He’s spent some time working with The-Dream for his album and for the singer’s next project. The-Dream told MTV News in April that Tip’s new material is impressive. “Tip is in a zone, man,” the singer said. “He’s in one of those things. But me just being a lyric guy, what makes songs, I think, hits is when it comes from the heart and you really are saying something you mean. Not to be outdone by the saucy lady-on-lady kiss between Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson , the “Get Him to the Greek” duo carved out their own replay-worthy moment when the Kiss Cam panned to them seated side-by-side in the audience. To quote stuffy-actor speak, Hill and Brand completely “committed to the moment” with their spontaneous, handsy make-out. When MTV News caught up with Hill backstage, the funnyman first complimented the efforts of fellow kissers Bullock and Johansson. “I thought it was great,” Hill said. “I thought Russell and I’s kiss was way better. … It was graphic and hormone-filled and just real. “We didn’t plan that out,” he revealed. “Everyone was like, ‘When did you guys decide to do that?’ And we were like, Russell literally said, they were doing the ‘kiss-me cam’ or whatever and I was like, ‘They’re about to turn the camera on us — what should we do?’ And then he was like, ‘Let’s just do it,’ so we just effing went for it. “It was great,” he said of kissing Brand. “I kiss him in ‘Get Him to the Greek,’ so it’s now become our M.O.” What do you think of Brand and Hill’s chemistry? By James Montgomery Katy Perry Photo: Steve Granitz/ Getty Images Ever since she started promoting her new single “California Gurls,” Katy Perry has been sporting one rather eye-catching accessory (and no, we’re not talking about her bedazzled bikini top ): an electric-blue wig. At first glance, you probably figured she was wearing it to match the DayGlo feel of the tune, but Perry first put on the wig to get in touch with her inner Smurfette — since she’s voicing the character in the upcoming film version of “The Smurfs.” In the time since, she’s also used it for another purpose: a little bit of childhood rebellion. “I’ve never seen an episode [of ‘The Smurfs’], because my parents wouldn’t let me,” Perry told MTV News on the red carpet for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, hours before she debuted “Gurls” for a live TV audience . “My mom thought that Smurfette was a little bit slutty, being the only female in the village. And now I showed her. I called her up and was like, ‘Guess what, Mom: I’m Smurfette!’ ” It’s certainly not the first time Perry has rebelled from her religious upbringing — both her parents were pastors — considering the sneak peek of her “California Gurls” video , which features Perry parading around in a bra made of cupcakes and launching frosting from her chest. You get the feeling her mom is pretty used to the phone calls these days. “It’s just like another one of those days where it’s like, ‘Guess what, Mom: I kissed a girl! Guess what, Mom: I’m going to be naked in a music video!’ ” Perry laughed.
