The Twilight Saga won’t actually come to an end until November 2012. But Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are already expanding their resumes beyond Edward Cullen and Jacob Black, respectively. Earlier today, we posted photo of Rob getting it on with various women in Bel Ami . Now, we have a behind-the-scenes look at Lautner in Abduction , which will find his character on the run after discovering his face on a missing persons website. The film comes out on September 23 and features Taylor mostly during his own stunts, as seen below. Prosecutors trying to convict Dr. Conrad Murray of involuntary manslaughter want to make sure the trial does not become about Michael Jackson’s personal life. In particular, they want the judge to disallow all testimony related to allegations of Michael Jackson molesting children, and to block a potentially key witness. Steve Robel, a key Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s investigator in MJ’s 2005 molestation trial, is on the witness list compiled by Dr. Conrad Murray’s team. Dr. Murray’s trial is scheduled to get underway next month . Prosecutors want all references to molestation barred from Murray’s trial, on grounds it has nothing to do with MJ’s death and would merely inflame the jury. Also, prosecutors have also asked the judge to block the testimony of doctors who treated Jackson but were not involved in his care at the time of his death. This is a major issue that could dramatically alter the case. Why? The defense will argue at least nine other doctors addicted MJ to meds – including Propofol – and are responsible for the condition Michael was in. Murray, therefore, cannot be held responsible for what happened. Judge Pastor has not ruled on the motions, but what he decides on that point could be critical in determining how Murray’s defense takes shape. Pastor has, however, determined that the Murray jury will NOT be sequestered during the trial, as he does not want jurors to feel like inmates. Pastor feels that even though Jackson’s death was incredibly high profile, measures will be in place to make sure the jury is not contaminated. Christina Aguilera is positively furious, and for very good reason. Earlier in the week, the website MediaTakeOut published a picture of the singer’s son and wrote the headline: “CHILD ABUSE???? CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S SON IS PHOTO’D WITH A BLACK EYE!!!” Aguilera, who remained above the fray when called out by Kelly Osbourne , didn’t sit idly by in the face of such an accusation and called upon her lawyer to issue a statement. Wrote Eric Greenspan to the site in question: “Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself… To imply that she had something to do with this incident, without any investigation on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconscionable.” The attorney then threatened a lawsuit and concluded: “HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!!” MediaTakeOut has since changed the headline. MTV has given fans their very first look at Jennifer Lawrence in the role of Katniss Everdeen. Their first first, very brief look, that is. With The Hunger Games set to release its first official trailer at this Sunday’s Video Music Awards, the film has provided us with a teaser for that teaser, really nothing more than a video of the famous mockingjay pin on fire… until the very end, when we see Katniss glance up, presumably somewhere in the arena. Miley Cyrus created quite the stir this week when she got a new tattoo, seemingly in defense of gay marriage, and then evoked God when defending her belief in equality . But, give the singer/actress credit, she isn’t backing down from this fight. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Cyrus is attached to an untitled comedy written by Sam Brown and Jack Angelo. Not much is known about it, but the reliable publication describes the film’s plot as involving “a broken promise to God.” Miley has a pair of other grown-up films in the way: So Undercover and LOL . Boyfriend Liam Hemsworth , meanwhile, is also set to make it big: he will star in next March’s big screen version of The Hunger Games as Gale.
Even Angelina Jolie can’t do it all. Between acting, directing, raising six kids and saving the world, she’s got a lot on her plate. As she gets older, the 36-year-old knows something has to give. What she’s likely to give up first is an easy call . The Oscar winner, whose directorial debut is in post-production, and who will be starring in a remake of the Elizabeth Taylor film Cleopatra , said: “As Brad and I get older we’re going to do fewer films. I’ve been working a long time, he’s been working a long time. We’ve had a nice run and don’t want to be doing this indefinitely, our whole lives. There are a lot of other things to do.” “You’re drawn to certain roles because they question something about life, about love, about freedom. You ask these questions as you grow up: am I strong enough, am I sane enough? Do I understand love, do I understand myself?” Jolie continues, “I’m older and I know who I am … and I’m less interested in the character helping me answer something … than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family.” For Angelina, answers that she once sought to find from her characters can now be found as she travels the world, taking her adopted children to their home countries and doing massive amounts of charity work. Of course, Jolie has said that same exact thing a number of times previously; she first mentioned it in 2006, and then again in 2008. Think she’ll really pull herself away?
