China Censors Titanic 3D Nudes for Fear of Audience Participation

Kate Winslet ‘s chest icebergs were restored for Titanic 3D ‘s Indian release, but censors in China are now denying viewers in their country the same, uhm, release. The skinfamous scene where Kate instructs Leonardo DiCaprio to “draw me like one of your French girls” has been cut from Titanic 3D on the orders of China’s State Administration of Radio, Film,and Television, who justified their decision in a statement: “Considering the vivid 3D effects, we fear that viewers may reach out their hands for a touch and thus interrupt other people’s viewing. To avoid potential conflicts between viewers and out of consideration of building a harmonious ethical social environment, we’ve decided to cut off the nudity scenes.” So if you ever find yourself in a Chinese movie theater, don’t reach out and touch someone. But the real irony here is that the nude scene was included when the original Titanic played Chinese theaters in 1997. 2D boobs? Ok by China. 3D boobs? Not so much. Pam Grier Gets a Biopic, But Who Will Play the Blaxploitation Queen? [PICS]

Pam Grier is more than just the proud owner of one of the finest lap-‘fros in skinema (Exhibit A: 1973’s The Arena ). She was also the first bona-fide female action star in movie history, one who inspired many similarly black and boobtiful babes to go into show business. Now Pam’s 2010 autobiography, Foxy, which tells the story of how she went from being a secretary at American International Pictures to one of its biggest stars, is being made into a movie. But who has the moxie to step into the platform shoes of the one and only Ms. Foxy Brown ? Pam reportedly wants Halle Berry to play her in the movie, but Skin Central thinks that Black Dynamite star Salli Richardson would be Dyn-o-mite in the role (Exhibit B: Salli with a ‘fro ). Buttoned-Up Blue Lagoon Remake Makes Mr. Skin Feel Blue

Brooke Shields was absolutely unforgettable in The Blue Lagoon (1980)- not least because she was only 15 when she played perpetually undressed castaway Emmeline. (But don’t panic, Skin fans- Brooke used a body double for her topless scenes in the film, making that palm tree in your pants, while controversial, not out-and-out Traci Lords illegal.) Now that Blue Lagoon is being remade, the time is right for some totally-above-board, completely guilt-free nudity from the new lead, 21-year-old Australian soap star Indiana Evans (left), right? Wrong. Unlike the barely-there scraps of fabric Brooke wore in the 1980 movie, pics from the set show Indiana dressed in sand-covered skinny jeans, tank tops, and jean shorts, though a shot of her clad in a long white robe like actors often wear between takes of nude scenes leaves some potential for skin. Gummo Director Takes on Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez for Spring Breakers

When you think of barely-legal Disney Channel celebs Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez , the first things you think of are sniffing glue, killing cats, and eating spaghetti in a filthy bathtub, right? Yeah, us either. That’s why we were surprised (to put it mildly) that Spring Breakers , starring Vanessa, Selena, and baby-faced babes Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine , is being directed by indie bad-boy Harmony Korine . Harmony put all of the above and more (like Chloe Sevigny ‘s boobs, left) into his provocative directorial debut Gummo (1998). And Korine hasn’t mellowed with age- Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) is a meditation on schizophrenia with a disturbing incest subplot, Mister Lonely (2007) stars a bizarre family of celebrity impersonators, and Trash Humpers (2009) is exactly it sounds like, a shot-on-VHS transmission from another galaxy where deviants in old-man masks hump garbage bags. So he’s a strange choice, to say the least, for a big-budget studio pic like Spring Breakers , currently filming in Florida and accompanied by a tidal wave of news coverage that usually reads something like ” OMG SELENA GOMEZ SPOTTED DRINKING WHAT WILL JUSTIN BIEBER THINK?!? ” So has Harmony sold out, or are we about to see a side (hopefully the front, but the side would do too) of these tween idols that we could never have imagined? Either way, color us SKINtrigued. Step into the weird world of Harmony Korine- or the squeaky-clean one of Selena Gomez , if you prefer- we’ve got ’em both here at MrSkin.com!
