Robert Pattinson’s Edward ‘Becomes A Man’ In ‘Breaking Dawn’

Director Bill Condon says ‘Twilight’ star deftly tackles finale’s most emotional scenes. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: Summit Entertainment “Twilight” fans who’ve already read the best-selling books upon which the films are based have a sense of what to expect from the final two films when they hit theaters. Specifically, what emotional ups and downs will unfold onscreen, and which characters will be most impacted. “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon recently revealed to MTV News what he predicts will be the most emotional moments in the final installments. He also opened up about how stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have tackled the acting challenges presented to their characters, Bella and Edward. ( Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the books.) “There’s this really quiet moment when Bella discovers that she’s pregnant and Edward leaves the room having said, ‘Carlisle will get that thing out of you,’ ” Condon recalled, “and she realizes, ‘Oh my god, I’ve got trouble ahead.’ “Edward, the person she’s been longing for all this time is actually on the other side of this very basic issue about this baby that’s growing inside of her, and she puts all that aside and she turns and she has a moment where she catches herself in this mirror. It’s actually a scene, just Kristen alone, where she falls in love with the idea of being a mother and it’s just simple, but I think it’s very moving.” Condon went on to say that Pattinson’s work in the film is equally moving, noting how much he has evolved as an actor. “[Edward] really becomes an adult [in this film],” Condon said. “In the beginning, he has this beautiful toast to [Bella] where he talks about, ‘You’re so lucky if you find that one person who can see you for who you are and still accept you and allow you to move beyond who you’ve been.’ And that’s what Rob does in this movie,” the director added, “He sort of puts aside Edward’s self-loathing and all that stuff and actually becomes a man. “So at the end, when Bella’s given birth and she’s died and he’s trying to bring her back, there is stuff in there where the camera just holds him for a long time where he’s just doing everything he can think of to make her live and to beg her to live,” Condon revealed. “It’s just really powerful.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Talkback: Did Scientists Correctly Pick the Saddest Movie of All Time?

We’ve all seen sad movies and retained traumatic memories from them. If you didn’t bawl at the end of Philadelphia or weep throughout Up or shoot tears perpendicularly during the Jean-Claude Van Damme/Dennis Rodman film Double Team , you’re less human than Movieline’s staff. Now lachrymose responses are part of a fascinating, cinema-related study : In 1995, scientists gathered film clips that made patients sad, amused, or evoked other emotions (for the purposes of understanding whether sadness leads to overeating, whether fear leads to over-spending, etc.). What’s the movie those scientists believe is most effective in producing melancholy? The answer will upset you — though maybe you’ll come up with a sadder movie yet.

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Nude Scene ‘Crazy,’ Olivia Wilde Says

Co-star Daniel Craig had to ‘look me up and down,’ actress explains. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Olivia Wilde in “Cowboys & Aliens” Photo: Universal Pictures Olivia Wilde might have been covered in dust and dirt while shooting “Cowboys & Aliens,” but that didn’t make shooting a mostly nude scene in front of her co-star Daniel Craig any less awkward. “It was kind of strange because I was half-naked in front of a bunch of people, including the crew, a bunch of Apache warriors, a bunch of cowboys, and Daniel Craig, who I had to stand in front of basically naked,” Wilde explained to MTV News. “He had to take a moment to sort of look me up and down before covering me in a blanket. And I was like, this is crazy.” It didn’t help that after the long night of shooting, Wilde and the rest of the “Cowboys & Aliens” cast had to take an overnight flight to San Diego Comic-Con to make their Hall H presentation . So if fans remember her being a little frazzled, it probably has something to do with the fact Wilde had no sleep after filming a scene in which she was partially nude for the majority of it. As fans will find out come Friday’s release of “Cowboys & Aliens,” the scene Wilde is talking about — which has been teased in the film’s many trailers — happens at the climax. She said filming the sequence was an “honor” because it is such an important moment in the movie. “It was really exciting because we knew we were creating something kind of spectacular in that scene,” Wilde said. “It was a really cool effect happening, as people will see.” The actress said she didn’t wear much make-up and required little hairstyling while filming because the style of the flick was “very bare.” She said it was a very dirty shoot, and not just because she was almost naked. “We were literally dirty because we were riding all day long out in the desert, and you get very dirty. But the dirtier everybody looked, the hotter they looked. It was a really good look, I think,” she said. “The people in the Old West were very dirty. The thing that’s unrealistic about our movie is all our teeth: We have good teeth; they didn’t have good teeth. So, logic police will call BS on that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Cowboys & Aliens.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Mr. Skin Confirms: No Buns from Olivia Wilde in Cowboys & Aliens

Olivia Wilde’ s been on a skinterview spree for her new movie Cowboys & Aliens , and she’s been spreading the nudes that her seat meat makes an appearance in the sci-fi/Western hybrid. Well, you can take those rumors and spread ’em on your vegetable garden, because turns out they’re nothing more than bull dooky. Mr. Skin’s Skin Skout has seen a sneak preview of Cowboys & Aliens, and it turns out the much-hyped butt scene is less than Wilde. 1 hour and 11 minutes into the movie, Olivia walks through a fire naked and miraculously unharmed. Olivia may be fine, but Skin Central is still feeling burnt, because CGI flames cover Olivia’s seat meat in the rear view shot, exposing only naked back, and from the front we only see her from the shoulders up. Not to mention as soon as she walks out of the fire, Daniel Craig rushes in to cover Olivia’s gorgeous naked body with a blanket. That wasn’t exactly what we meant when we said Olivia Wilde’ s butt really lights our fire, guys. Cowboys & Aliens might be a tease, but members can see Olivia delivering the topless goods in Alpha Dog (2006) on our Olivia Wilde page!

Animal House: Celeb Nudes on DVD 7-26-11

You’ll be doing a kegstand in your pants this week as the Mr. Skin-approved comedy classic Animal House (1978) finally hits Blu-ray. We’ve also got a ass-tounding eyeful of Italian beauties Nela Lucic and Anna Jimskaia as Euro-erotica director (and confirmed ass man) Tinto Brass ‘ Monamour (2005) gets the deluxe DVD treatment, and you’ll be mangling your machete as the dairylicious doc Machete Maidens Unleashed slices its way onto DVD. In other DVD and Blu-ray nudes, you’ll be revving your engine when biker babe Kristin Herold flashes her headlights in Born to Ride (2011): It’s the three R’s of collegiate life: raunch, retching, and ‘rections. They’re all present and accounted for in this uproarious T&A masterpiece that made all the world a wild toga party. The drunken perverts of Animal House (1978) put high, hard fun in higher education as they wage war on so-called decency, repressed homoerotic frat houses, and a disciplinarian dean. Among the road trips and six-packs are lots of fleshy two-packs, a nice fanny flash from Karen Allen , and more gross-out good humor than you can shake your meat to. Directed by Italian erotic film maestro Tinto Brass , Monamour (2005) stars Anna Jimskaia as Marta, a woman who accompanies her husband to a book fair and strikes up an affair with a French man ( Riccardo Marino ) she meets under a painting of Jupiter’s erect penis. Be sure to check out the scene where Anna and her galpal Nela Lucic hit the spa completely nude. Anna spends so much of this movie completely naked that they should have called it BONE-amour! In the 1970s and ’80s, the place to be for making sleazy drive-in fare wasn’t Hollywood back lots- it was the lush jungles of the Phillippines. Drawn to the island nation by the plentiful, cheap labor and lack of safety standards, American B-movie producers ground out grindhouse pics by the hundreds set in women’s prisons, cannibal camps, fascist dictatorships and jungle hellholes of all types, all slated for drive-in double features back in the USA. Now the nude documentary Machete Maidens Unleashed! reveals the titillating true stories behind wild flicks like The Big Doll House , Black Mama White Mama , Cover Girl Models , Firecracker , and The Mad Doctor of Blood Island that lived by a different, but still pretty cool, type of three Bs- boobs, blood and beasts. Two buddies on a motorcycle trip get caught up in a deadly game of political intrigue in Born to Ride (2011). Mike ( Casper Van Dien ) and Alex ( Patrick Muldoon ) take to the open road for an epic highway adventure. Motorcycle mamas are an essential part of any biker flick, and Theresa Russell of Wild Things fame will rev your motor as a sexy biker babe. But hot Harley honey Kristin Herold will really get your engine running as Nikki, who we see from behind as she strips to a thong for her outlaw biker guy. Kristin’s got a body that was Born to Ride ! C U Next Tuesday, Skin fans, for all the breast nude releases on DVD and Blu-Ray right here on the Mr. Skin blog !

Hollywood Tuna’s Bikini Showdown – Elisha Cuthbert vs. Maria Menounos

Yesterday, we saw Cameron Diaz get annihilated by Jennifer Aniston. I wasn’t expecting that. Today’s match up is a odd one. Sure Elisha Cuthbert hasn’t been mentioned on many blogs for some time, but I actually dug her new show Happy Endings and when I was younger I often pleasured myself to her movie the Girl Next Door (too much info?). And in the other corner, we’ve got Greek goddess Maria Menounos. Sure she’s not the biggest of names but I would love to spread Tzaziki all over her body and eat it all up. Anyway, make sure to vote by commenting your choice below . Round 11 Contestants Elisha Cuthbert Maria Menounos Round 10 Winner Jennifer Aniston defeats Cameron Diaz Round 9 Winner Fergie defeats Holly Madison Round 8 Winner Stacy Keibler defeats Anna Kournikova Round 7 Winner Kelly Brook defeats Kim Kardashian Round 6 Winner Rachel Bilson defeats Annalynne McCord Round 5 Winner Selena Gomez defeats Miley Cyrus Round 4 Winner Heidi Montag defeats Aubrey O’day Round 3 Winner Kate Upton defeats Megan Fox Round 2 Winner Julianne Hough defeats Lindsay Lohan Round 1 Winner Karissa Shannon defeats Audrina Patridge

‘Ant-Man’ Movie Wouldn’t Just Be For ‘Avengers’ Experts, Director Says

Edgar Wright says he’s just completed a third draft of the script for the Marvel movie. By Aubrey Sitterson, with reporting by Josh Horowitz “Ant-Man” director Edgar Wright Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images With “Captain America: The First Avenger” grossing over $65 million on its opening weekend and fans already buzzing about next year’s “Avengers,” Marvel’s quickly expanding cinematic universe is as popular as ever. Now, from San Diego Comic-Con 2011 comes news that Marvel Studios might finally be moving ahead on a long-awaited release: Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man.” The “Shaun of the Dead” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” director has been talking about taking on Marvel’s smallest superhero since at least 2007, promising a live-action film that would blend humor with action and would include two different Ant-Men: Henry Pym and Scott Lang. In the Marvel Comics source material, both characters make use of a special formula and suit that allows them to shrink, as well as a high-tech helmet that facilitates communication with ants and other insects. “Ant-Man” is said to feature flashbacks of the original hero, Pym, as well as scenes of his successor, Lang, in the present day. Now, after years of infrequent updates and stalled production, things are finally looking up for “Ant-Man.” “Since February, we’ve done two drafts of the script, and we just handed in a third draft on Monday,” Wright told MTV News. The director is co-writing the film with Joe Cornish, whose “Attack the Block” (a British alien-invasion movie starring frequent Wright collaborator Nick Frost and in theaters on July 29) was making waves of its own at Comic-Con. Apparently, some of the hold-up on “Ant-Man” was related to “Attack the Block,” as the duo did not complete a second draft until Cornish was finished with his directorial debut. “The way we wrote the script is for it to be a standalone genre film,” Wright said, perhaps indicating that “Ant-Man” would be less explicitly tied to the “Avengers” family of titles like “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Thor” and “Iron Man.” Wright continued by explaining his desire to “create an ‘in’ for people so you don’t have to know 50 years of ‘Avengers’ history to enjoy the movie.” While most recent superhero adaptations have focused on Marvel and DC’s “big guns,” characters like Batman, Spider-Man, Superman and others, the protagonist of “Ant-Man” will be entirely new to all but the most fervent comic book fans. For Wright and Cornish, however, the freedom that comes with a lesser-known character is a large part of the upcoming project’s appeal. Wright was close-lipped on who he wanted to play the part of the movie’s eponymous hero (or heroes), but he did hint that he had someone in mind. Who would you like to see play Ant-Man? Let us know in the comments below. ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Will ‘Exceed’ Fans’ Expectations

Director Jon Favreau tells MTV News there’s much more to the movie than the ‘silly’ title may suggest. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jon Favreau Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images When news broke that “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau had wrangled two of the biggest names in the action-movie business — Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig — to star in his intriguing genre mash-up “Cowboys & Aliens,” that and a compelling premise proved to be enough to send scores of fanboys online seeking advanced tickets. But though there’s lots of early buzz from the marquee names associated with “Aliens” (mega-watt producers Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard are also onboard), Favreau recently admitted to MTV News that he felt pressure to deliver something extraordinary for fans. “Of course, with Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg [producing], I’m in real good hands,” Favreau said about overcoming the challenges of establishing just the right tone for the movie. “I learned a tremendous amount from them, and I think when you cast Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig — with ‘Bond’ and ‘Indy,’ those are two franchises that are fun but not silly,” he added about Craig’s 007 and Ford’s “Indiana Jones” series. “And I think that if people take a clue from who I cast in the film as to how it’s going to play, it’s a good indicator,” he explained. Favreau went on to say that there’s far more to the film than what the title suggests. “I think [moviegoers] hear the name ‘Cowboys and Aliens,’ it sounds kind of silly, but it also sounds compelling and interesting,” he said. “So if they give it a chance, they’ll see it’s a fun movie, it’s an exciting movie, and I think it’s going to exceed their expectations.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Cowboys & Aliens.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .
