Ed Sheeran responded to rumors that his ‘Game of Thrones’ cameo pushed him off Twitter, since his profile briefly disappeared shortly after his episode. But he insists the timing was just a ‘coincidence.’
Has Leah Messer found a special new man in her life? If you watch Teen Mom 2 online , you’re well aware that the twice-married mother of three has had a long, turbulent romantic history. One that’s continuing with this handsome dude? “I just love his face!” Leah captioned this image. Indeed, it’s a nice face. One worthy of a heart-eyed and kissing emoji, which she also added along with a tag of the mystery man’s name. Brian Gravely, according to his Instagram account, owns Famous Superstars, a South Carolina-based tumbling and cheerleading school. Given her daughters’ interest in those activities, it would make sense that Leah Messer might have made his acquaintance somehow. And while she clearly loves him … it’s not like that . Leah took to Twitter to set the record straight about Brian … who had better not be her mystery man, as far as his spouse is concerned! Yes, Brian is already married, and hopefully his husband got a kick out of this as much as the oft-maligned MTV reality star did. Despite being linked to Scotty Ayre this spring, Leah has largely been taking time off from dating to focus on herself and her daughters. That sigh of relief is from all of Teen Mom Nation. The last confirmed romance Messer was in was with T.R. Dues , a personal trainer she met following her divorce from Jeremy Calvert. That union lasted a decently long time, though he was reluctant to appear on her social media accounts, let alone be filmed for MTV. They were rumored to be living together and his two kids were “considered to be a part of Leah’s family,” though things fizzled eventually. The combination of her divorce from Calvert and her custody battle with her first ex-husband, Corey Simms, both led to serious strain. “She wants to look like a stable single mom to the judge in order for her to get her girls back,” a source close to her said at the time. T.R. Dues may have paid the price for that, as “Leah knows that it doesn’t look good for her to have a new man in the house already.” Jeremy allegedly had some strong opinions about this setup as well, especially since he shares his only daughter, Adalynn, with Leah. Says another family source: “When mutual friends told Jeremy about this new guy, he called Leah and flipped out for letting a stranger hang around Addie.” Leah initially denied the relationship with Dues, saying that it wasn’t official, only to confess later that something’s going on,” an insider said. As we said, Messer and Dues parted ways before it became a thing – a thing that impacted her custody situation with either ex, anyway. Speaking of Calvert, his own dalliances with Messer after their divorce may have resulted in the end of his subsequent engagement. In a sneak peek for Teen Mom 2 (the new season of which begins tonight on MTV), we learned that Brooke Wehr read his phone records . He explains to Leah on FaceTime that after this occurred, he “came home to all my sh-t just being everywhere” ’cause Brooke “lost her sh-t.” Gonna be a crazy season. The new Doctor is in. And the Internet is, naturally, very pissed off. On Sunday morning, BBC and BBC America announced via video and via press release that Jodie Whittaker has been named the 13th person to be cast as the title character on Doctor Who. It’s notable every time a new actor takes on this iconic role. But it’s especially notable in Whittaker’s case because she’s an actress . Yes, Jodie Whittaker is a woman. She’s the first woman to ever be cast as Doctor Who and she will officially take over for the departing Peter Capaldi on the Doctor Who Christmas special. Said new head writer Chris Chibnall of the casting decision: After months of lists, conversations, auditions, recalls, and a lot of secret-keeping, we’re excited to welcome Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. I always knew I wanted the Thirteenth Doctor to be a woman and we’re thrilled to have secured our number one choice. Her audition for The Doctor simply blew us all away. Jodie is an in-demand, funny, inspiring, super-smart force of nature and will bring loads of wit, strength and warmth to the role. The Thirteenth Doctor is on her way Whittaker, meanwhile, has the following to say: I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey – with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet. It’s more than an honor to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait. Whittaker is probably best known for having played Beth Latimer on the British crime show Broadchurch … where she co-starred opposite David Tennant, who previously played the lead role on Doctor Who. She’s a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and appeared in the short film Wish 143. It centered on a 15-year-old boy with cancer and it was nominated for Best Live-Action short at the 2011 Academy Awards. Says Capaldi of the woman to whom he will be bequeathing this highly-sought-after part: Anyone who has seen Jodie Whittaker’s work will know that she is a wonderful actress of great individuality and charm. She has above all the huge heart to play this most special part. She’s going to be a fantastic Doctor. Despite the positive reaction from those associated with the series, this is the World Wide Web. A whole bunch of idiotic trolls out there are taking issue with the casting of a woman as Doctor Who (“What will be next, Jane Bond?” one of them asked), despite the fact that this is a time-traveling, shape-shifting alien with two hearts. If you somehow think the Doctor’s gender has any impact on his or her realism, well… just keep that sexist and ridiculous opinion to yourself, okay? Thankfully, the excitement on Twitter over Whittaker’s casting appears to be far louder than the criticism. To wit: “The fact that there was so much interest in, quite literally, ‘Who?’ speaks volumes about the enduring power of the Doctor Who franchise around the world and for BBC AMERICA viewers,” says BBC President Sarah Barnett, concluding: “We couldn’t be happier to welcome the remarkable Jodie Whittaker as a history making Thirteenth Doctor and look forward to the continuation of this story.” What do YOU think of this casting choice? Maryam Mirzakhani, an Iranian who became the first woman to win math’s most prestigious prize, died Saturday after a four-year battle with breast cancer. She was 40 years old. In 2014, Mirzakhani was awarded the Fields Medal, which is commonly referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Mathematics” in order for those outside of the industry to fully grasp its importance. It’s only given out once every four years and Mirzakhani earned the distinction for her work on dynamical systems and complex geometry. Along with being the first female, she was also the first Iranian to garner the medal, which was created in 1936. Born in Tehran, Mirzakhani came to the United States in order to attend graduate school at Harvard University. She started working as a professor at Stanford University in 2008 and the school confirmed her passing on Saturday via its website. “Maryam is gone far too soon, but her impact will live on for the thousands of women she inspired to pursue math and science,” said Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne in a statement, adding: “Maryam was a brilliant mathematical theorist, and also a humble person who accepted honors only with the hope that it might encourage others to follow her path. “Her contributions as both a scholar and a role model are significant and enduring, and she will be dearly missed here at Stanford and around the world.” For the final four years of her life, Mirzakhani battle breast cancer, which eventually spread to her bone marrow. In response to her passing, Iranian-American scientist Firouz Naderi shared his grief on Instagram, writing the following on Instagram: “A light was turned off today… It breaks my heart.” He later emphasized that Mirzakhani was a “genius, but also a daughter, a mother and a wife.” Mirzakhani once famous said that mathematics made her feel like a detective. “It is fun – it’s like solving a puzzle or connecting the dots in a detective case,” she said after winning the Fields Medal, according to NPR. “I felt that this was something I could do, and I wanted to pursue this path.” May she rest in peace. Want to know something crazy? It’s been eight years to the day since Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra’s episode of 16 and Pregnant aired on MTV! That means that, exactly eight years ago, we were first introduced to this couple — it’s been a wild ride, huh? And, as it turns out, the Baltierras have another important anniversary this weekend … Their 12th anniversary of dating, to be exact! Yes, Catelynn and Tyler, Teen Mom’s middle school sweethearts , have been together for twelve whole years, and to celebrate the special occasion, Tyler wrote a painfully sweet post on Instagram. “I can’t believe that today marks 12 years together with you,” he wrote, tagging Catelynn. “Babe you literally are the greatest gift this life has given me! We were only kids when we fell in love, but we were kids who knew what we wanted out of life & who we wanted to get it with.” “Not a lot of people get that opportunity or blessing at such a young age,” he added. “Even though we were so young,” Tyler continued, “I wish I could go back as far as I could just to love you longer!” “I am just so happy & honored to be your husband. I love you SO much!” He added the hashtags “Happy Anniversary,” “12 Years Strong,” “Soul Mates,” and “Middle School Sweetheart.” It’s so sweet you can hardly stand it, right? But, as any Teen Mom fan would know, things haven’t always been that great for them. On their 16 and Pregnant episode, we saw that they both had troubled home lives — or they shared one, really, since Catelynn’s mother, April, married Tyler’s father, Butch. Butch and April both had big issues with addiction, and neither of them were there for their children like they needed to be. They both criticized Cate and Tyler’s decision to place their daughter, Carly for adoption. Those poor kids were ridiculed to no end for making a mature, responsible decision. After Catelynn gave birth and little Carly was placed with her adoptive parents, the two teenagers still struggled with their parents. Things got so bad that Catelynn moved in with Tyler and his mother for a while to get away from April and Butch. It wasn’t all bad times though. About a year after Carly was born, Tyler proposed to Catelynn! They held off on a wedding for years though — long enough to work out their relationships with their parents, to mature a bit, and to have a darling little daughter, Nova . In August of 2015, they finally tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony. And while they still have some problems — who doesn’t? — it’s obvious that they’re still very much in love with each other. Congrats, Catelynn and Tyler! View Slideshow: Teen Mom Cast: Before They Were Stars …
