Issa Good Guy: 21 Savage Donates $25,000 To Help Detained Immigrants Get Access To Legal Counsel

Source: WENN.com / WENN 21 Savage Made A Sizable Donation To The Southern Poverty Law Center 21 Savage just made a donation to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights organization that was vital in assisting him in his battle against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The rapper gave the SPLC a $25,000 check that is going to ensure detained immigrants in the South will have access to legal counsel. According to the nonprofit, only about 17 percent of immigrants in Southeast detainment centers have access to an attorney during their removal proceedings. The lack of legal representation leaves individuals vulnerable to terrible situations like family separation and deportation. Immigration law attorney Charles H. Kuck said the following in a statement: “21 Savage is making this donation public because everyday Americans need to know that ICE is using civil immigration detention as a weapon against immigrants, many of whom, like 21 Savage, have relief from deportation and are able to fix their immigration status. Creating oppressively adverse conditions of detention, like those in Irwin County, Georgia, far away from family and legal counsel, causes despair and hopelessness, and forces these men and women to give up on their immigration claims. The SPLC, through its Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative (SIFI) stands at the front line of this fight and supporting this effort lets all Americans know that the Constitution which protects the least of us, protects all of us.” If you’ll recall 21 was arrested and detained by ICE himself earlier this year. Immigration officials said that the rapper was born in the United Kingdom and was unlawfully present in the United States. The rapper’s legal team said he had entered the U.S. legally at the age of seven and stayed in the country until he had visited the U.K. in 2005. The rapper returned to the U.S. in July of that year under an H-4 visa, which expired in 2006. He reportedly applied for a visa in 2017; the application was still under review at the time of his arrest. He ended up being released on bond less than two weeks later.

Floribama Shore: MTV Reveals New Location For Season 3!

It’s puke and rally time, y’all. The Floribama Shore crew is back!  MTV announced on Tuesday that it has renewed the hit reality show for a third season. And while the full cast is set to return,  they’re switching up the location ! The crew is bored of Panama City Beach, ok?  They need new scenery, new sandy beaches and of course, new bars.   So now, they’re moving the party to the streets of St. Petersburg, FL!   The show premiered on MTV in 2017 and was dubbed the Jersey Shore  for the south. Considering their amount of alcohol-induced fights, hug-it-out apologies, and sexual encounters filmed in night vision — yeah it’s a tad nostalgic of the OG series in Jersey.  But audience members seem to actually enjoy the revamped iteration and are ready for more. “Audience’s favorite southerners will reunite and head to St. Petersburg, FL, bringing the drama, the romance, the friendship, and fun along with them for the hottest time yet,” the press release read.  Adding that the original boisterous bunch  will all be there bringing the heat to the new season.  Including Jeremiah Buoni, Codi Butts, Kortni Gilson, Aimee Hall, Kirk Medas, Nilsa Prowant, Candace Rice, and Gus Smyrnios. “After a dramatic wrap up in Panama City Beach last season, the gloves are off,” the press release continued.  “From hookups and breakups to laughs and tears, they’ve been through it all together.” “Now, in a new city, there are fresh stories to tell as the crew parties it up and puts real life on hold for another summer.” MTV has yet to reveal why they are moving the show’s filming from the Florida panhandle to the St. Petersburg area — however, several media outlets were happy to offer explanations.  According to the Pensacola News Journal , many PCB locals have not enjoyed the cast filming in town. (Imagine that?)  They felt as though it gave them “a bad reputation.”  But the Bay County film commissioner Julie Gordan told the Tampa Bay Times that the show “had a great economic impact” and the locals “barely noticed they were there.” “Of course, you can ask local officials, and they’ll say it’s the most god-awful thing they ever saw,” she said of the reality show.  But she’s got something for the haters: “Well, it’s not for you, it’s for the 25-year-olds.” “I’ve talked to many Uber drivers who say people want to see the shore house, or the bars they hang out at… The show is not all pure nasty.” Another reason the show may have relocated is due to the significant damage the city suffered from Hurricane Michael back in October 2018.  Several of the show’s main filming locations sustained damages, while some were completely destroyed.  According to the Pinella County film commissioner Tony Armer, the cast began filming season 3 earlier this week. The show’s official “Shore House” is somewhere in the southern part of the county and Tony also added that they will be filming in and around town.  “It could be [filmed] anywhere from downtown St. Petersburg to the Clearwater beaches,” he said.  “I’m guessing they’ll have some outings in Tampa as well.” The Tampa Bay Times also reported that the production company, 495 Productions, applied for and was granted permits to shoot in public locations through July 15. The same production company also shot the show Party Down South in this location a few years ago.  MTV has yet to release a premiere date for season 3, but as stated in the press release, fans can expect it to air sometime this fall.  View Slideshow: Jen Harley: Arrested! Amber Portwood: I Can’t Quit Teen Mom OG! My Fans Love Me Too Much!

Well, the new season of Teen Mom OG is finally here. We say “finally” because it seems the new episodes were highly-anticipated by the show’s dedicated fan base — which appears to be getting smaller by the year. Yes, TMOG ratings have been on the decline ever since Farrah got fired, but don’t tell that to the central cast members. In a recent group interview, the Moms issued ultimatums to their bosses and delivered a veiled threat by revealing that any of them could quit at any time. Of course, when it comes to OG arrogance, none of the original moms can top Amber Portwood, who seems to believe that a large segment of the show’s audience tunes in just to keep up on her exciting life. In the kind of scripted segment that makes up a troubling amount of the show’s runtime these days, Amber revealed that she really, really wanted to quit last year — but she simply couldn’t let her public down. “Last year, everything was falling into place for me — I had an amazing boyfriend [Andrew Glennon], a beautiful son James, and [ex Gary Shirley] and I were finally co-parenting [daughter Leah] better,” she said. “But I struggled with postpartum depression, and people said really negative things about me on the internet, which didn’t help,” Amber added. “I was in a bad place, so I needed to take time for myself.” Amber has talked about her postpartum depression in the past. It’s a serious condition that afflicts many mothers, and we applaud her for speaking out on it. However, we would be remiss if we didn’t point out that Amber constantly complains about being portrayed as the show’s resident villain and then claims she had to resume filming for the sake of her fan base — which appears to be non-existent. “The support of my fans made me change my mind, so I agreed to come back and film,” Portwood stated on Monday. “I really isolated myself the last few months, so I’m finally ready to reconnect with my family.” But if you think Amber came back without a list of demands, you don’t know Amber: “I’m sick and tired of every season being depressed me,” Portwood said. “It makes me really sad the sh-t that people think about me. …I can tell you I get bothered by some of the messages, however, I don’t even read the whole thing anymore.” So Portwood wants to continue filming not for the cushy gig and the six-figure paycheck, but because the public needs her. That said, she wants to be depicted in a way that runs counter to everything “her fans” know about her. Has anyone told these moms that MTV was quite popular before they came along and will likely continue to be afterward? Seems like something they should know before they start issuing too many demands. View Slideshow: Amber Portwood to Fans: You’re All Jealous of How Rich I Am!

The White Privileged Audacity Of Golden State Warriors’ Part Owner Pushing Kyle Lowry

UPDATED: 1:16 p.m. EDT — The NBA franchise co-owner who shoved a rival team’s star player Wednesday night was swiftly punished by the league, according to a new report. But considering the flagrant and angry natures of Mark Stevens pushing Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry during Game 3 of the NBA Finals, it was fair to question whether the punishment was adequate. According to Bloomberg , Stevens has been banned from attending any more games this season, which, at the most, are only four more contests this month. But after that, it would appear that Stevens’ punishment ends there. Bloomberg’s report came after NBA star LeBron James demanded Stevens be punished. James sounded off via his Instagram, claiming in part that Stevens “knew exactly what he was doing which was so uncalled for. He knew the rules more than just the average person sitting watching the game courtside so for that Something needs to be done ASAP! A swift action for his actions.” View this post on Instagram There’s absolutely no place in our BEAUTIFUL game for that AT ALL. There’s so many issues here. When you sit courtside you absolutely know what comes with being on the floor and if you don’t know it’s on the back on the ticket itself that states the guidelines. But he himself being a fan but more importantly PART-OWNER of the Warriors knew exactly what he was doing which was so uncalled for. He knew the rules more than just the average person sitting watching the game courtside so for that Something needs to be done ASAP! A swift action for his actions. Just think to yourself, what if @kyle_lowry7 would have reacted and put his hands back on him. You guys would be going CRAZY!! Calling for him to damn near be put in jail let alone being suspended for the rest of the Finals all because he was protected himself. I’ve been quite throughout the whole NBA playoffs watching every game (haven’t missed one) but after I saw what I saw last night, took time to let it manifest into my thinking I couldn’t and wouldn’t be quiet on this! #ProtectThePlayers #PrivilegeAintWelcomeHere A post shared by LeBron James (@kingjames) on Jun 6, 2019 at 9:42am PDT James hinted that the outrage would be much more widespread of Lowry, a Black man, pushed Stevens, a man whose angry facial expression appeared to be fueled by every ounce of his white privilege when he shoved the player for no good reason.   Original story:   Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty T he Golden State Warriors are seeing their chances of winning a third straight NBA championship grow dimmer right before their eyes. That fact was on display for the world to see Wednesday night when the Toronto Raptors traveled to Oracle Arena to defeat the defending champions on their home court in decisive fashion. Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty But one person, in particular, had perhaps the most unique vantage point while experiencing that truth when the Raptors’ star guard Kyle Lowry dove into the crowd to save a ball during Game 2 of the NBA Finals . Lowry landed with great force on some of those folks who paid a pretty penny for courtside seats that sometimes can put you right in the middle of game action. That was the case for one white man who happened to be hit by Lowry’s fast-flinging body. But rather than understand that was a possibility with courtside seats, he reacted with anger and violence to Lowry making contact. “How dare he touch me,” that white man looked like he must have been thinking when he pushed Lowry. Kyle Lowry was shaking his head after a courtside fan pushed him when he fell into the crowd. pic.twitter.com/5SwQv3hdnN — NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) June 6, 2019 Well, turns out that man has been identified, and his actions may not seem so surprising when finding out he who he is. According to Axios , he is “ part Warriors owner” Mark Stevens . “The fact it wasn’t just a fan but someone tied to the Warriors significantly ups the stakes,” Axios wrote. Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty Stevens at once displayed some of the most entitled white privilege seen in recent months by shoving Lowry, whose hard dedicated play could threaten the part owner’s pocketbook if the Raptors beat the Warriors. “The fans have a place; we love our fans,” Lowry told ESPN . “But fans like that shouldn’t be allowed to be in there, because it’s not right. I can’t do nothing to protect myself.” Source: Ezra Shaw / Getty That commonly known fact to even the average basketball fan was apparently of very little consequence to Stevens, who would later be escorted from the arena that the team he partially owns calls home. Chances are he’s facing a hefty fine from the NBA and major pushback from the league’s players who have as recently as this past season been demanding more protection from overzealous fans who feel entitled because of how close they sit to the game. He still gotta get banned. https://t.co/VvbduOnI8a — David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) June 6, 2019 Conversely, Stevens’ fellow courtside audience members included none other than recently crowned billionaire Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé , who were the model of grace (except for that one moment where Queen Bey looked like she was going to snatch the wig off of Becky With The Good Hair — spoiler: she didn’t.) beyoncé’s face when shorty leaned over to talk to jay pic.twitter.com/5PqIhCmgGy — iffy (@somalijawn) June 6, 2019 The news came just days after it was reported that the NBA was moving away from labeling those with major stakes in NBA franchises as “owners.” The racial implication of the loaded term in a league of Black players and white owners was finally being recognized by the NBA. Perhaps Stevens didn’t get the memo. Another Former Member of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Crew Pleads Guilty

Source: PYMCA / Getty Hip-Hop’s “Henry Hill” ( Goodfellas reference) strikes again as Tekashi 6ix9ine ‘s cooperations with feds done led to yet another guilty plea from one of his former associates. PageSix is reporting that for the second time this week an ex-homie of the “Billy” rapper pleaded guilty to a racketeering charge to a federal judge in Manhattan yesterday (June 5). That brings the total number of ex-Tekashi associates taking plea deals to nine (good thing he was never a Wu-Tang Clan member because it would’ve been a wrap for them after their classic  Enter The 36 Chambers ). Butler’s decision to plead guilty to the charge leaves two defendants in the case facing trial — Anthony “Harv” Ellison, a former member of Tekashi’s management team who allegedly beat up Tekashi last year and robbed him for $750,000 worth of jewelry and $20,000 in cash; and another alleged Nine Trey member, Roland Martin. Ever since blowing up with “Gummo” and taking the music millennials by storm in late 2017, rumors began circulating around the hood that Tekashi’s Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods crew was extorting him for his royalties in return for their protection and street services. Once he decided to hold back on some paper he ended up getting taken by his own wolves and unfortunately for him there wasn’t a Liam Neeson in his corner to save him. Since then Feds clamped down on Tekashi and the Bloods crew for a gang of federal offenses. Since then Tekashi’s gone from gangsta rapper to opera singer and basically ended the show for many of his former associates including  Kooda B who pled guilty  earlier this week for his role in the shooting of Chief Keef and his cousin while he was visiting New York City during the summer last year. Tekashi is said to have paid him $10K in cash for the attempt on Keef’s cousin’s life. Now we wait to see how many more people the feds take down with the high notes that the fat lady’s been providing them with.

Jussie Smollett Won’t Be Returning To ‘Empire’ Per Lee Daniels

Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty Jussie Smollett has appeared to hit the end of the road for his time on the hit drama, Empire . After a report went out that the actor would possibly be returning to the series for its final season, Lee Daniels has shut down that plan via Twitter. Deadline reports : “Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire,” Daniels tweeted Tuesday afternoon following reports that the embattled actor’s character Jamal Lyon was being re-worked into scripts for the Fox series. A well-placed source told Deadline today that Smollett’s ongoing legal issues are partly to blame for him remaining on the sidelines. “There are still too many unknowns about what really occurred, why the charges were suddenly dropped and the effect it all has had on Empire for the network or the producers to feel Jussie can slip back into the show,” the individual said. Thus far, Smollett has kept a low profile since the shocking news that all charges were dropped. However, the actor’s ordeal is ongoing as the city is suing him for extending city resource s for the investigation into the alleged staged hate crime. @Variety @JoeOtterson This is not factual. El Chapo Denied Outdoors Rec Time, Commissary Privileges

Source: OMAR TORRES / Getty Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, better known to the world as El Chapo , won’t be seeing the sun anytime soon after a judge shot down an outdoors rec time quest. Further, Guzman won’t be given access to the general population commissary out of fear items purchases can be turned into weapons. TMZ reports : The former Mexican cartel kingpin recently filed a motion requesting at least 2 hours of outdoors recreation time per week while he’s held in custody at a federal prison in New York, plus access to the general pop commissary so he can buy goodies. Chapo was also looking to get access to some earplugs so he could sleep easy at night and get rid of ear pain he says he’s been experiencing in the joint. Well, a judge didn’t bite on any of it, and his reasoning is pretty damning. First, the court says Chapo’s request for outdoors time is a nonstarter (he’s currently being held under strict restrictions) because the U.S. government’s worried he’ll try to escape again. The outlet adds that El Chapo has been well-behaved while inside the joint, which is probably why he made the request but it’s not foreseeable in the near future. — Photo: Getty

Jade Cline Talks Teen Mom 2 Casting, Difficult Past

Jenelle Evans is out. And Jade Cline is in. MTV has formally announced Cline as a new cast member on Teen Mom 2, doing so by having her sit and chat with a number of veteran network stars. How did she find out about this role? What sort of drama will she be stirring up? The new addition sat with veterans Catelynn, Tyler and Kailyn to discuss these questions and many more on the Teen Mom 2 reunion special that aired on June 3. During a unique segment, she actually chatted with these stars as part of Kailyn's Coffee Convos podcast, a portion of which was recorded by MTV and we've featured here. During the interview, Cline said she was kept in the dark for awhile in regard to her status on Teen Mom 2… … until her old producer from Young and Pregnant dropped the awesome bombshell right in her lap. “They said, ‘We love you, we love your story so much, we want you to be on ‘Teen Mom 2’ and I was like, I didn’t know what to say. I was like, ‘I feel so wanted and popular!’” Jade explained, adding: “The show has been on so long that I can’t believe they would want me on a show that’s been on for like 10 years with the same people.” One of those people, of course, is now a goner. Evans is off fighting for custody of her kids, not talking about storylines for next season. Cline, meanwhile, ought to bring a whole lot to the table: Her father committed suicide when she was very young. Her mom has been arrested for drug use and possession. Cline was removed by Child Protection Services as a teenager and has been living on her own since the age of 16. “I’ve been out of my parents’ house since I was 16 years old,” she says in this footage. “I’ve been on my own for six or seven years, so I feel like I didn’t vibe with anyone or talk with [the Young and Pregnant cast members] as much just because I was just somewhere else mentally.” As we said, Jade's biological father is dead — and her stepfather is basically dead to her . “Both of my parents were just incarcerated this last week,” she shared with Kailyn and her co-host Lindsie Chrisley. “They've been strung out for so long. They're like binge addicts.” You can read more about Cline's many secrets and struggles here: And you can watch her discuss all things Teen Mom 2 related, included her upcoming role on the series, in this video.
