Queen Latifah began her career as a rapper and overtime went into acting, modeling and being the face of Cover Girl’s Queen Collection. She is one of the main characters in the hit show “ STAR ,” and Headkrack had an opportunity to sit down with her and talk about not only the new season of the show, but possibly rebooting ‘Living Singles.’ Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Email Submit She mentioned that the new season will pick up right where it left off with guns drawn and her as the President of the record label. This season there are a lot of problems to figure out and she takes on a motherly role as we find out Star is pregnant. She’s the most ambitious character, but Latifah helps her figure out a lot of things as the show continues. RELATED:  La La Is Turning Her Book “The Love Playbook” Into A Movie With Queen Latifah As far as picking roles, Latifah mentioned each one challenges her in a way and that’s what she loves most. Headkrack also played a game with her about de-booting or rebooting shows or music classics. She doesn’t want to hear anyone try and do another version of “I Wanna Be Down.” Latifah would like to see a reboot of “ Living Single ” especially with the original cast, Headkrack also mentioned he would love that because the show is such a classic. Latifah doesn’t want anyone to touch “Set It Off,” but was okay with the play especially since Da Brat was in it. Just our two cents, but we don’t think an Instagram response is going to cut it this time ‘Ye. Dillinger hit IG with a blunt in his mouth and a message that was plain as day: “Kanye West, f*ck you and yo’ b*tch.” Clearly, the rapper had some things that he felt he needed to get off his chest, as he urged Nick Cannon to “beat that n*gga’s *ss” before thanking Lil Duva l for the “funny as f*ck” Kanye challenge. But that wasn’t all . He said into the camera, “Kanye, he’s a b*tch *ss n*gga and your wife sucked the whole f*cking industry. You just got caught up in the mix and your feelings.” He also addressed  Kris Jenner , adding “I know the momma probably got some good *ss head ’cause the other sisters sucking all n*ggas d*ck. Common Reveals How He Broke His Mother’s Rules To Pursue Music | Extra Butter

Sometimes you just gotta break the rules. That’s the main premise in Smallfoot a movie about a Yeti society that’s ran using some archaic laws set in stone that everyone must live by. On the outside, the rules appear to work, but in reality, they are all a bunch of bs that gets exposed when a yeti named Migo, stumbles on to a human being that this movie calls a small foot. Starring Common, Channing Tatum, Yara Shahidi, Gina Rodriguez, Lebron James,  and Zendaya this movie addresses some serious issues about inclusion, accepting each other’s differences and being open to change. On this episode of Extra Butter w/ Xilla Valentine , I go behind the scenes of Warner Bros new movie Smallfoot hitting theaters everywhere this Friday to find out how Common and Channing broke rules to become successful, how the protection Yara Shahidi and Gina Rodriguez affects them, as well as talk about the booty of a yak. While this kid’s movie is very “woke” it’s also very silly as Channing Tatum points out during our conversation, saying, “We are touching and tackling some very current stuff but it’s also really hilarious to be talking about the sky snail and the great butt of the sky yak! I think it’s a palatable way for kids to be brought into something that’s a little deeper and still be able to enjoy it so it’s not some heavy thing that we have to fear.” Gina Rodriguez gives voice to a yeti named Kolka who is a very curious science nerd that isn’t afraid to seek more than just what’s set in the stones the yetis live by. She loved the message of the film and revealed that is one of the reasons she took this role. “Ideally, you’re working on projects you feel confident about and you stand next to and you love the message and I think that was a huge draw for me,” Gina revealed. Smallfoot really kicks into another level with Migo and his group of banishes yetis venture out into the human world to find the truth about the legend of the small foot. That goes against all the rules but it was a necessary risk that he had to take to prove The Stonekeeper, played by Common wrong. I asked Common to reflect on a time when he had to break to rules and he revealed it was when his mother told him to choose school over music. I had to break the rules to pursue my music career, Common said. Adding, “She meant well, in the same way, The Stonekeeper does, this is what I know to be right, this will protect you, stay in school that’s the safe way to do it. Although it wasn’t a written rule I had to break that rule to go after my dream.” Overall Smallfoot is a very fun kids film that is filled with a ton of messages perfect for the time we live in, with a lot of light moments kids will enjoy. The movie hits theaters everywhere, Friday, September 28th.

The Voice Recap: Who Won Night 2 of the Blind Auditions?

The Voice returned Monday with a brand new twist, and some of the best vocalists in the show’s fifteen season history.  Did Tuesday’s episode manage to keep up the pace?  Well, there were some excellent performances and some terrible ones.  Let’s break down the latest string of contestants making their way to the next round.  Keith Paluso (Team Blake) – “Way Down We Go” This Kaleo classic is not an easy song to perform by any stretch of the imagination, but 30-year-old park ranger, Keith, made it his own.  There wasn’t a bad thing to say about the performance. It was flawless and put a new spin on this song that has been used a little too much for emotional scenes on drama series.  Team Blake should be good to Keith if the song choices are right for him.  Claire DeJean (Team Kelly) – “Hurt Somebody” Meh. That’s about all there is to say about this performance. Clair is 17-years-old and teaches acting and dance.  Her vocals were bland, and there was nothing to really distinguish her from some of the other performers who did not make the cut.  Kelly took her on, but we think this is going to wind up being a big mistake.  Franc West (Team Jennifer) – “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” This was another sub-par performance. This 38-year-old took up singing while he was in the Navy, but he didn’t have the wow factor you expect from the people who advance to the next stage.  Being on Jennifer’s team, there’s every reason to believe she will do her best to find the right genre of music for him.  If she does not, he won’t make it very far.  Michael Lee (Team Blake) – “The Thrill Is Gone” Michael flew through his performance. It was so fast-paced that it made the judges wonder what the heck was going on.  But there was a solid voice in there, and one that could be nurtured by spending some time on Team Blake. Thankfully, he made his way to Mr. Shelton’s country crooner club.  DeAndre Nico (Team Adam) –  “When I Was Your Man” This NBC reality series usually saves the best for last, and DeAndre’s Bruno Mars cover found him with a four-chair turn.  With vocals that reached dizzying heights, we think it’s fair to say that DeAndre performed better than Mars himself. He was THAT good.  Before his performance, we learned that he was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.  Okay, what did you think of Night 2 of the Blind Auditions? Lil Wayne Officially Announces Tha Carter V Release Date

The news comes after numerous websites erroneously believed that the long-awaited album would be dropping last Friday, though no one from Young Money or Wayne himself confirmed the news. So Friday morning at 12:01 AM, expect plenty of Wayneheads to be shedding tears of joy. RELATED: Lil Wayne Is Back To Mixtape Weezy On Swizz Beatz’ “P.O.M.S.” [VIDEO] Tha Carter V marks a bit of history for Wayne. It’s the first release of his that won’t have the Cash Money imprint on it as he and Birdman settled their years long court feud. Wayne believed he was owed millions in unpaid royalties from the label, one he had called home since he was a teenager. Tha Carter V was originally announced in 2014 but has been delayed and stuck in perpetual limbo ever since. Wayne has released projects in the interim including last year’s well-received Dedication 6 and D6: Reloaded along with the joint album Collegrove with 2 Chainz . Watch his announcement video below.

Damon Wayans Jr. & ‘Basketball Wives’ Aja Metoyer In Custody Battle

Wayans has requested primary custody of the pair’s two teen daughters, which Metoyer, who stars on Basketball Wives , says is a ploy for the actor to pay less in child support. The Blast reports : Sources close to Metoyer tell The Blast she’s lawyered up and is prepared to square off against Wayans, who is requesting primary physical custody of their teenage daughters. He claims Metoyer isn’t taking the kid’s education seriously, and believes she’s doing them harm. However, Metoyer’s legal team tells us they find it “curious” Wayans is making a request for more custody right as he’s also launching a new “lucrative” primetime network show, “Happy Together.” We’re told Metoyer and her legal team believe Wayans only wants more custody to avoid paying more in child support, because in California child support is commonly established based on the income of the highest earning parent and the percentage of custody they have.
