J. Prince Checks Ex-Houston Drug Dealer Over False Claiming: “We Don’t Need Bootleg Con Men And Bootleg Pimps Distorting History”

Read more from the original source:

If you speak down on J. Prince ‘s name, he’ll come and find you. Johnny Binder Jr, one of the more infamous street names in Houston history proclaimed he was the Big J in Houston to J. Prince’s “Lil J.” The self-proclaimed biggest dope dealer in Texas made plenty of statements on the Houston-based What They Talkin’ Bout podcast, prompting J. Prince to make one of his legendary courtesy calls. The Art & Science Of Respect author was a guest on the podcast and before there was ANY mention of his book, he broke down each of Binder’s claims one by one. RELATED: This Failed Prank Call Proves How Feared J. Prince Is RELATED: J Prince: “Don’t Let IG Become Your OG” [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW] On Binder: “When I hear a man sitting his rotten ass on this leather, telling all these big bold lies about my name .. and the city? Yeah I gotta come and talk about that. I don’t want the city to be following no lie. We got too much going on and we aren’t them kind of people to allow bootleg con men and bootleg pimps to try and distort our history any kind of way.” “Never did me and him work in any capacity. This is a dude I saw a few times in the streets, I shook his hand. But as far as him calling me a friend? He don’t know where I live, he ain’t never been to my house. He don’t know none of my intimate friends so, this dude is a pathological liar. So when he make a statement like, “Rap-A-Lot wouldn’t have existed because of him” then, that’s a joke. A straight up joke. “I heard this man say he flew me and my friend California Kevin (Kevin Allen) to meet Kurtis Blow. And I spoke to Kevin about this lie and he told me, “This man ain’t never flown me no where in my life.” I became a millionaire in the streets before music. [Binder] wasn’t nowhere near that in the streets. That which he’s trying to portray, as the biggest dealer in Texas … is why all the sh*t that’s happened to him has happened. He was always this clown who liked to draw unnecessary attention to him. He’d get all these fancy charges drawn on him. I know his whole M.O. The dude was just a rock house seller. That limo he had? He slept in it. I had to get out of it cause of the odor.” The full interview is nuts but it’s J. Prince going back to Fifth Ward and telling stories about how Binder got out pimped by a lady in California, how he doesn’t know if he wants to be Baptist or Muslim and lying on Louis Farakkhan, wearing monkey sh*t jewelry and more. Video Shows Cop Gunning Down Fleeing Man, But Police Downplay Possible Murder Charges

N ashville police defended the white officer seen shooting a fleeing Black man in the back on a video released Wednesday (Aug. 8), as the Black community demanded justice. See Also: The Disturbing, Growing Trend of Police Fatally Shooting Suspects In The Back Without Consequence James Smallwood , president of the Nashville Fraternal Order of Police, argued Wednesday at a press conference that the video doesn’t “paint a complete image of what occurred that day,” the Tennessean reported. He underscored the police report that said Daniel Hambrick had a gun when Officer Andrew Delke  shot him on July 26, adding that Delke made an “absolutely necessary and reasonable” snap decision. Meanwhile, after viewing the same video, community members  met Wednesday night at the Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church and demanded an immediate shakeup of the police department. “I think [Police Chief Steve] Anderson needs to resign or the mayor needs to let him go,” the Rev. James Turner II said. Thankful for my squad. Got me through today without cursing out every politician in sight who voted against ⁦ @OversightNow ⁩, ignored demands for Jocques, + the black preachers who continue to aide in this insanely traumatic cycle. #DanielHambrick https://t.co/3mZFKn2nrv — Gicola A. Lane (@GicolaLane) August 9, 2018 Delke approached the vehicle Hambrick was in, believing that it was the same car he saw earlier that day driving erratically, according to police investigators. Hambrick, 25, and two others fled from the officer. Surveillance video, released by the prosecutor, shows 25-year-old Delke chasing Hambrick. The officer opens fire on Hambrick, who does not appear to turn toward Delke. After firing multiple times, the officer circles the dying man while continuing to point his weapon at him. While the police alleged that Hambrick had a gun, the video does not appear to show him carrying a weapon. Hambrick’s family wants the officer charged. “The police officer fired four times, three of those bullets ripped Daniel apart. He fell to the ground, where he was cuffed and left, left there like a dog. Worse than a dog,” said Jo Kimbrough , attorney for the Hambrick’s family. “I’m a criminal defense attorney. If there is ever a case of premeditated first degree murder, this is it,” the lawyer continued. K. Michelle Threatens To Leave #LHHH And Press Charges After Smackdown With Her Uber-Swiping Ex-Friend, Paris Phillips

Prince Williams/WireImage K. Michelle And Paris Phillips Get Into Alleged Altercation K. Michelle is back on Vh1 and as we all saw tonight, successfully stirring the pot for some juicy Mona-land drama. But the drama is still sticking around in her own life as well. Particularly in her rocky relationship with ex-assistant Paris Phillips. According to a report from The Jasmine Brand , Kimberly K. Michelle got into it yet again with her on-again, off again friend Paris on the set of her own spinoff show, K. Michelle: My Life . Apparently, the two got to rehashing the much-belabored point regarding Paris “borrowing” $50 from K. Michelle’s account for an uber, and never mentioning it to the singer. Things got loud and heated, and next thing you know, Paris tosses a drink on K Michelle and throws a plastic cup at her head. As always, security broke things up before anyone could manage to land a real punch…but that’s just where the saga began. As sources close to the action tell The Jasmine Brand, K. Michelle is gunning to get Paris kicked off of Mona’s shows, and looking to the police to handle the situation. Although K. Michelle doesn’t have any allies this season and no one wants to film with her, she’s trying really hard to get Paris kicked off the show. It’s surprising that she wants to get the law involved when for seasons she’s tried to attack people on the show. She’s already attempted to fight another cast mate on camera this season. But now she wants to take legal action? K. Michelle has done her fair share of lit-candle-tossing and IV-pole attacks . But maybe “Kimberly” is trying to turn a new leaf and go the legal route? She tweeted this a few days ago, and it’s been given quite a bit more context now that this news has surfaced… It’s crazy when you get to a certain point, you can’t react because people love to sue and get free money. Sucks but sometimes you have to handle it the legal way. — K. Michelle (@kmichelle) August 2, 2018 But then again… It’s amazing how you can be so angry at a friend and still have a soft spot for them regardless. — K. Michelle (@kmichelle) August 7, 2018 Which way do you think K. Michelle is going to lean with this one?? Getty/Prince Williams – Wireimage

Tyler, The Creator Keeps It Real About Wanting To Be Played On The Radio

Source: Courtesy of Converse / Courtesy of Converse If anyone in the industry keeps it real, it’s Tyler, The Creator . And beyond his blunt realness, he’s also known to be quite the perfectionist with his music–so it should come as no surprised that he’s analyzed everything right down to the sound of his voice. In an interview with  GQ ,  the California native admits that he doesn’t think his voice fits in with the sound of  mainstream music. Tyler’s explanation comes in response to a question about why isn’t he bigger on the radio. He delves into his idea, explaining: “I hate my voice and I think—it’s not a full thought or theory yet—but I think there are certain voices that can make it into a mainstream world because of the tone that they’re in,” he breaks down. “People like Jay , ‘Ye , Drake , you know, Kenny [ Kendrick Lamar ]. It’s a world that their voice lives in. It’s not too high and squeaky, and it’s not too low and bassy, it’s not too abrasive and raspy.” Though The Creator doesn’t think his voice particularly fits into the world of mainstream music, he still wants to understand what makes those voices “work,” and how he can join in on the fun. “I’m still trying to figure out the science behind it. When I do, I’ll let you know, but I definitely don’t have that voice. And I f**king wish that I did” he says. Going back to one of the artists he mentions above, Tyler talks about his longtime idol and reveals the fact that he really did cry to a song off of Kanye’s new album Ye. He goes into detail about the track “Violent Crimes” and explains why it made him cry saying, “I always talk about chords and probably sound like a f**king dork, but since I was f**king 4 years old. I would always say it was a slant or it went up, ’cause I didn’t know what chords were, but it was a thing that music did that I just felt in my f**king body.”

La Flame! The First Week Sales Projections For Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ Are Massive

See original here:

Source: Christopher Polk / Getty The first-week sales projections for  Travis Scott ‘s freshly released album  Astroworld  have officially arrived, and it looks like La Flame is about to have an absolutely insane opening. According to reports from  Hits Daily Double , the songs on the Houston rapper’s third studio album have been streamed over 100 million times. In terms of actual sales, the album is expected to move somewhere between 450-500,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That is an undeniably massive opening, especially when compared to the numbers Travis has pulled in the past. If these sales projections come to fruition, Scott will have more than quadrupled the first-week sales total of his last project,  Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight– which moved 89,000 units in its opening week. The album is loaded with features from big stars including Drake , Frank Ocean , and  Stevie Wonder. This album and it’s release has been teased for more than 2 years at this point, which could be why it’s doing such huge numbers. In any case, it seems like Astroworld ‘s long-awaited release has not disappointed, at least as far as number go. We’ll find out for sure once the final numbers come in. Congrats to La Flame on the huge release.
