The media may give all the credit to Caitlyn Jenner for making the public aware of the struggles trans people face, but issa lie. Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Carmen Carrera tried her hand at being the first trans model to get her wings. Even ANTM star Isyss was looking like a volable candidate at one point — but it didn’t happen. After last year’s Vickie Secret show, Bloom took to Twitter to vent about all the caucasity they had on the runway: All these women of color in the VS fashion show that's amazing right. But they still have way more white girls. It's like every time they added a woman of color they added another white girl. Next year they need to cast trans and curve models all colors not just Caucasians. — Leyna Bloom (@leynabloom) November 21, 2017 Luckily, she knows her worth, and added tax to it: In the words of Issa Rae, we’re supporting everybody Black. Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Tyra Banks and her mother, Carolyn London , are doing press runs to promote their newly released book, Perfect is Boring . The mother daughter duo went to the Strand bookstore in New York City to talk about their book, and while there Tyra Banks talked to TicToc about gender pay gap, and how women can do their best to receive the pay they deserve when at a job. TicToc chatted with @TyraBanks , and she told us how to ask your boss for a raise #EqualPayDay #tictocnews pic.twitter.com/FugV5kfYQm — TicToc by Bloomberg (@tictoc) April 10, 2018 When talking about the subject, Banks explains a way hat women need to go to their bosses when asking for a raise. A lot of people might go to their bosses and plead for a raise, talking about the things they need–“I need this raise because I can’t pay my rent,” “I need this raise because I don’t have the money to do this or that,” Tyra shoots down that option, saying there’s a better way. When going to your boss for a raise, the America’s Next Top Model creator urges women to tell their bosses the reason they deserve more money, and why their bosses are the ones who NEED them, and therefore need to give them a raise. That wasn’t the only thing Tyra and her mother talked about regarding the book, either. Banks also mentions her thoughts on Kanye West , and why him being “Self-centered” is actually a good trait, because he “never dulls his shine to make anyone else feel comfortable.” “I look at him as what a lot of people need more of. Kanye never dulls his shine to make anyone feel comfortable.” Tyra Banks mentioning Kanye in her interview with @MONEY . https://t.co/8v7xT5uzXt pic.twitter.com/zOxEbzwipo — TeamKanyeDaily (@TeamKanyeDaily) April 7, 2018

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty As president of one of the biggest labels in the world right now, TDE’s Punch gets a lot of respect from both peers and fans of the most relevant artists in the industry. With that, however, comes some disdain from certain people when those they admire don’t share their same convictions–and Punch experienced just that when he tweeted out an incredible unpopular opinion. Cardi B is 2pac. — Punch TDE (@iamstillpunch) April 7, 2018 The internet was alllll over Punch for comparing Cardi B to 2Pac …especially for someone from Los Angeles, who understands the incredible importance Pac holds decades after his passing. It seems like Punch’s feelings with this one were pretty strong, and after spending a while arguing with fans in his mentions, DJBooth released an entire editorial the TDE bossman wrote on the subject. Cardi B Is 2Pac: A Guest Editorial From TDE's Punch ( @iamstillpunch ) https://t.co/9dS2Md89Rz pic.twitter.com/248W4e0ghg — DJBooth (@DJBooth) April 9, 2018 Punch explains throughout the article that he’s a huge fan of 2Pac, and the same things we admire about him to this day are the same qualities that draw the public to Cardi. Here’s a excerpt from his editorial that captures the crux of his argument pretty well: “I won’t pretend to know as much about Cardi as I do about 2Pac, but from what I do know, she embodies some of those same qualities. She’s a straight shooter right from the hip. Her interviews are as raw as her music. She’s politically incorrect, yet, her charisma means you cannot stop watching and listening, whether you agree or disagree. She says exactly what she’s feeling at the time the question is delivered.” Another point he makes throughout his comparison is both artists airing out their insecurities to the world, so that they point them out before anyone else can. Punch explains that sentiment here: “She put her insecurities right out in front for the whole world to hear. She controlled the narrative. Both expressed the same sentiment: THIS use to hurt me, but now it doesn’t. One of Pac’s most famous quotes was, “The reason I’m so harsh is because I’m so sensitive.“ In a nutshell, that sums up why, I believe, Cardi B is 2Pac. She fully embodies this idea of being brutally honest so she can’t be hurt. She tells you her teeth needed to be fixed, she reminds you she was a stripper, she opens up about her relationship with Offset. We hear about all the good times and the bad times in equal measure. If she’s the one who puts it out there, YOU can’t hurt her with it. She owns it ALL.” You can read Top’s guest editorial for DJBooth in it’s entirety here . What do you think–is Cardi B our newest iteration of 2Pac?

Eduardo Munoz Alvarez/Getty Images Man Dies, Firefighters Injured In Trump Tower Fire A fire in Trump Tower has left one person dead. Fire officials were called to the Midtown Manhattan skyscraper Saturday after flames engulfed a 50th-floor apartment unit where 67-year-old Todd Brassner was injured before being pronounced dead at a hospital. The upper floor units in the building reportedly do not have built-in sprinklers. The New York Times adds that four firefighters sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, Video footage showed flames bursting through broken windows. Fire in Trump Tower worsening pic.twitter.com/6T1VsOCsuP — Peter Thomas Roth (@PeterThomasRoth) April 7, 2018 The cause of the fire remains unknown, 200 firefighters responded to the scene. Cheeto has (of course) tweeted about the situation and thanked the firemen (and women) for their service. Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 7, 2018 Residents said they received no evacuation orders from the building management about the fire. SMFH, so no sprinklers and no evacuation orders? Nicely done Cheeto.
