Dance Stars Ayo & Teo Drop Headphone & Speaker Collection With Fanstereo Dance pros Ayo & Teo have partnered with lifestyle brand Fanstereo to release their own capsule collection of consumer electronics. The functional line features two types of headphones, one leather-bound and the other mobile earbuds, as well as a bluetooth speaker. The electronics are priced from $99 to $139. “Ayo and Teo, they are a hybrid group, and we’re a hybrid headphone,” Fanstereo’s CEO Jay Leopardi told us. “It’s been a beautiful marriage.” The brothers, who appeared in Usher’s “No Limit” video and whose own song “Rolex” went platinum last year, greenlit the collab not only because Fanstereo’s products have gained a rep for high quality with a focus on research and development, but also because the headphones are made to stay put if you’re on the move, Leopardi said. “They are in the dance movement, and there’s no other headphone that you can dance in without them falling off your head,” Leopardi said. “I think they are the new Justin Biebers for that type of music. That’s why Usher messes with them. They are talented artists and we sign talented artists.” The company has launched 30 to 40 celebrity capsule collections to date (like a collab with Boosie Badazz and an “Art of Rap” collection with Cypress Hill, EPMD, Tone Loc and Biz Markie) and count Stevie Wonder and comedian Eddie Griffin among its fans. Just like Mason, the subway yer-deller’s lyrics were inspired by a woman who broke his heart and walked out of his life with everything. “She took my timbs, my silky and my chopped cheese,” he sang. NEW YORK, NY – NOVEMBER 21: Juelz Santana performs at Spotify’s RapCaviar Live in New York at Hammerstein Ballroom on November 21, 2017 in New York City. (Photo by Ilya S. Savenok/Getty Images for Spotify) Troubled Rapper Fighting For His Freedom After Drug & Gun Bust At NJ Airport After nearly a month in federal lockup, Juelz Santana is finally a free man. A New Jersey federal court judge agreed to release Juelz on $500,000 bond after his mother put up her northern New Jersey house, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office told BOSSIP. Although he’s no longer in federal jail, Juelz – whose real name is Laron James – has to adhere to a slew of strict conditions or risk going back behind bars. The “There It Go” rapper is essentially on house arrest. He’s under “24 hour home confinement” and can only leave his mom’s place to go to the doctor or to attend court. Under no circumstances can he record music at his studio or perform at shows, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office told BOSSIP. It was not clear Friday when he would be released. As of 4 p.m. he was still in custody. Juelz has been locked up since last month after TSA agents found a loaded .38 caliber pistol and eight oxycodone pills in his carry on luggage. Last week, we exclusively revealed that the Essex County Prosecutors Office agreed to drop the state level drug and weapons possession charges in order to let the feds prosecute the case. Source: ullstein bild / Getty New Zealand singer Lorde was about to be dragged to Jersey and back for an Instagram post in reference to Whitney Houston. Here’s what happened: So apparently, this week, Lorde had a day off and she decided to celebrate it with a nice bath. Nice, right? Only problem is, when she took a picture of her water-filled bath, she captioned it “And iii will always love you.” Evidence… As you might know, Whitney’s untimely death was caused by drowning in a bath tub . So yea. After the now deleted pic was posted, folks swarmed in on Lorde, calling her caption insensitive and straight up tone death. Of all the songs by all the singers in the world, Lorde had to caption a picture of her bathtub with Whitney Houston lyrics. pic.twitter.com/u0uN3jgQms — shane telford. (@MrShaneReaction) April 6, 2018 Y'all. Lorde just made a Whitney Houston bathtub joke. I would say cancel her, but canceled folks just end up being more successful in the long run. — tyrese sanders (@tysandsnyc) April 6, 2018 This is disgusting idk how people find it funny. Whitney was a legend. she was amazing. she was a queen. she was a strong black woman. I like lorde but this is truly disgusting pic.twitter.com/B5cR3tolaU — black female (@privsari) April 6, 2018 twitter to lorde after coming for whitney houston pic.twitter.com/QudA2vVnFs — 1942bs (@REGGllE) April 6, 2018 Lorde eventually apologized for her choice of words… Nah Lorde really didn’t realize what she was doing when she posted that Whitney lyric… she stepped into the Shade Room to clarify though and I am SCREAMING! pic.twitter.com/mdfGqF5PPj — Blue Ivy's Au Pair (@MikeyTBH) April 6, 2018 Lorde's apology. pic.twitter.com/mSZmQwwTYt — Lerato N. (@uLelato) April 6, 2018 …and some folks defended her, saying there’s no way she meant any jokes by her post. To all the people saying Lorde is cancelled bc of insta pic of the bath and the Whitney lyrics caption… people do stuff like that ALL THE TIME it was obvs just a very bad coincidence and i genuinely don’t think Lorde would do that purposefully… — Elliott (@ouhoooh) April 6, 2018 Do you REALLY REALLY GENUINELY THINK that Lorde intentionally mocked Whitney's death REALLY — sleepy (@Ornithohalloran) April 6, 2018 Smh. Messy. But it seems there’s folks with forgiveness in their heart. What do you think of the whole debacle? Are you giving Lorde a pass or should she have known better? During a recent interview with Beats 1, Bardi revealed to host Ebro Darden : Cardi B speaking on Nicki Minaj pic.twitter.com/uxVXyjS045 — Nicki Minaj News (@NickiReignsCom) April 5, 2018 Even though her response about her and Nicki not filming their “Motorsport” scene together is hella unconvincing, we’ll give Bardi a pass, since it’s her day. Don’t you just miss the days when female hip hop was about supporting the next woman coming in instead of being shade n’ full: We may not be at that point right now, but at last the genre is still alive and well with Cardi and Barbie both curving separate lanes. Even The Game can attest to that: There was a golden time, back in the late 80’s and early 90’s when stars like Lil Kim and Missy Elliott would actually enjoy spending time together with no diva-ness involved. Like in this epic clip from behind the scenes of Kim’s video “No Matter What They Say” in 2000. We see you too, MJB: Let’s not forget when Queen Latifah, YoYo and MC Lyte hopped on Brandy ‘s “I Wanna Be Down” remix and bodied it together. And judging by this video of Remy Ma bringing out Lil Kim, Queen Latifah , Young M.A , Cardi B and more at Summer Jam last year, it seems there’s only one rap queen that isn’t getting along well with the rest. Until we figure out what’s really good with the leading ladies in the game, we’ll just have to keep replaying the only song and video to highlight all the ladies in hip hop of that time: “Ladies Night (Not Tonight Remix).” 21 years later and that video still goes! Let’s hope we get a newer version featuring today’s femcees, before it’s too late. via GIPHY
