8 Milestones in the Devolution of Ashton Kutcher

In No Strings Attached , Natalie Portman co-stars for the second movie in a row with a former cast member of That ’70s Show . Ashton Kutcher gets the honors this time (sorry, lesbian fans !), playing… well, a version of himself that’s been steadily getting worse since That ’70s Show . How did Kutcher transform from a pretty decent sitcom actor to a movie star who appears in terrible movies? You can always trace a direct line through a handful of important roles to illustrate what led to an actor’s current success. Well, except in this case. If anything, that line has been on a steady decline since Kutcher’s first role as Michael Kelso. Let’s look at eight performances that trace the de volution of one Christopher Ashton Kutcher.

Me-WOW! Frequently Nude Anne Hathaway Cast as Catwoman

After months of speculation and mam-ticipation, director Christopher Nolan has finally announced that the role of Catwoman in the next Batman movie will be played by Hollywood T&A-lister Anne Hathaway . Anne beat out the likes of Keira Knightley , Rachel Weisz , Naomi Watts , Blake Lively and Natalie Portman for the role and follows in the footsteps of Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer , who have also played the foxy feline villainess on the big screen. After letting the catwoman out of the bag, Nolan expressed his delight to the press “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.” Sounds like someone’s been fast-forwarding to the one hour, three minute mark of Havoc .

REVIEW: Actions Speak Louder Than Dirty Words in No Strings Attached

It’s a noble thing to make a movie that tries to capture the way real people speak. But how do you know how close you’re getting? And even when you put raunchy turns of phrase or the most current slang in your characters’ mouths, are you really capturing the reality of those characters’ — or of anyone’s — lives? Language is either a part of the landscape of a movie or it’s window dressing, the first thing you notice. Can movie speech be believable and natural when it jumps out at us?

Natalie Portman Details ‘No Strings Attached’ Love Scenes

‘It’s very strategic,’ she tells MTV News of filming racy sequences with co-star Ashton Kutcher. By Kara Warner Natalie Portman in “No Strings Attached” Photo: Cold Spring Pictures Ashton Kutcher ran into what he described as a “dirty feet situation” while shooting the romantic comedy “No Strings Attached.” But when we caught up with Kutcher’s co-star, Natalie Portman, she told us that particularly sexy scene not only led to filthy feet, but also required a lot of choreography so that she and Kutcher would look “natural” together. “Some of the things were in [the script],” she explained about the flick, which follows two friends as they try to maintain their sex-with-no-attachment arrangement. “Some of the things were like, ‘What are we going to try today?’ And also, a lot of it gets choreographed because it’s like, ‘How are we going to get my hair thing out so that I don’t fall on it?’ or things like that where I’ll be like, ‘I can cover you there, and you can [cover me here],’ ” she added. “So it’s very strategic.” We can only imagine how amusing it must have been for Portman and Kutcher to construct those scenes. In addition to the required choreography, Portman admitted to a few makeout mishaps. “I feel like we probably bumped heads or something,” she said of their sex-scene bloopers. “I feel like most of the mistakes were usually like, we would be wearing modesty undergarments or something that would be revealed.” “No Strings Attached” hits theaters on Friday. Afrojack Discusses His Part In Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now’

Dutch dance producer tells MTV News how he contributed to C. Breezy’s Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Diplo collabo. By Akshay Bhansali Afrojack in an MTV News Skype interview Photo: MTV News Afrojack already had reason to celebrate as he headed into the new year. The Dutch dance-music producer’s pop/dance single “Take Over Control,” featuring singer Eva Simons, made the top 25 on Billboard ‘s Dance/Club Play Songs chart in December. And now his second U.S. release, packed with hip-hop heavy-hitters, seems primed for chart success. MTV News caught up with the EDM producer (born Nick van de Wall) for a skype chat last week, and he talked about his contribution to Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now,” the latest offering from the singer’s upcoming F.A.M.E. album. The track is a fast-rapping flurry of awesome self-indulgence courtesy of Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne and Chris, with an eerie downtempo beat cooked up by chefs Afrojack and Diplo. The pair of producers previously collaborated on “Pon De floor,” off Diplo’s Major Lazer full-length release, and according to Afrojack, “Look at Me Now” is the product of a beat he’d passed along to the Philadelphia producer. “Yeah, Diplo called me,” Afrojack recalled. “He was like, ‘We are in the studio right now, and we are gonna do a track on the beat.’ And I was like, ‘OK, whatever. Have fun.’ ” Eventually, “Look at Me Now,” was born. While Afrojack sounded casual about the song’s evolution, he said he’s certainly pleased with the finished product. “I just love these kind of people on a track like this,” he said. “It’s like hip-hop, but really weird kind of hip-hop. “Busta’s verse on it is really sick,” he continued. “It’s like I can’t even hear what he said, but I love the part where he goes [ mimics Busta’s rapid flow ], and then pauses and goes rapping really quickly. And I don’t know how to do it, I don’t even try. But it was really, really cool.” So what’s next for Afrojack? Apart from working on a remix for Pitbull , he premiered a new single exclusively for MTV News that we will be sharing with you very soon. All you Afrojack fans stay tuned! Ashton Kutcher Talks ‘No Strings Attached’ Sex Scenes’

‘There were no major injuries,’ he assures MTV News of his racy scenes with Natalie Portman. By Kara Warner Ashton Kutcher Photo: MTV News In the new romantic comedy “No Strings Attached,” Ashton Kutcher and Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman play two people who try to just be “sex friends” rather than entering into a traditional romantic relationship. As the “sex friends” moniker might imply, there are quite a few racy scenes in the film and, in particular, one long mash-up of their characters engaging in various acts and positions, in various locations. We’ll call it the “sex montage.” When MTV News caught up with Kutcher recently, we asked him if there were any bloopers to come out of filming so many challenging-looking scenarios for the montage. “There weren’t really any bloopers,” he said. “It’s always sort of awkward and giggly, right? Because you’re there and you’re with someone you sort of know, and there’s a lot of people watching,” he explained of the awkward factor involved in filming love scenes. “It’s always kind of in-between scenes you try to make jokes and divert it, ‘Oh it’s not a big deal,’ try to make it seem like it’s not a big deal.” So there were no major injuries suffered then? “Nah, there were no major injuries,” Kutcher assured us. “There was a dirty-feet situation,” he revealed. “Because the ground was dirty, and there was one scene where we both had our feet up, and they were showing in camera. We were walking around getting ready to do the scene, and the set floor was a little dirty, so we both had really dirty feet. That was weird, I don’t know why. … No dirty feet in bed,” he added. 8 Milestones in the Evolution of Natalie Portman

In this weekend’s surprisingly not-near-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been release, No Strings Attached , Natalie Portman plays a doctor who’s too busy for a proper relationship, and instead creates a pact with Ashton Kutcher that develops into a “sex-only” one. How did Portman transform herself from child star to the odds-on favorite to take home Oscar gold (note: not for No Strings Attached ) next month? You can always trace a direct line through a handful of important roles to illustrate what led to an actor’s current success, and with Portman, that line has been on a steady uphill climb sine her debut in Léon . So let’s look at eight performances — including something called “World Patrol Kids” — that trace the evolution of one Natalie Hershlag.

Rex Reed Believes in Natalie Portman’s Norbit

Forget Armond White ; when it comes to curmudgeonly New York film critics, no one can top Rex Reed. He’s the O.G. of vitriol, snark and just plain nastiness. “After a string of flops, the lovely, accomplished and underappreciated Natalie Portman achieved something of a career breakthrough in the pretentious horror flick Black Swan ,” Reed writes in his review of No Strings Attached . “Now, before the impact has worn off, and on the verge of an Oscar nomination, she crumbles like a mildewed crumpet. Short of breaking into the editing lab and destroying the negative, she should have done everything legally possible to stop the ill-timed release of a vulgar, stupid pile of junk called No Strings Attached . This movie could destroy everything.” Looks like someone didn’t hear that the Norbit thing was over . [ NYO ]

Golden Globes Reward Onscreen Nudity, Girl-on-Girl

At the Golden Globes last night, Hollywood must have finally figured out what Mr. Skin has been screaming at the top of his lungs for over a decade: Movies must always be about nudity and girl-on-girl sex. If you’re not going to put boobs in your movies, then go produce stage shows in Branson, Missouri. The Kids Are All Righ t beat out the competition for Best Musical or Comedy (including the supremely disappointing Burlesque ) because it’s full of naked knockerage and MILFtastic lesbian coupling. Likewise, Annette Benning won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy because she appeared in a movie with naked chicks and made out with Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman won Best Actress in a Drama for making out with Mila Kunis and in the hopes that it would encourage her to do more nudity in the future. It even bleeds over into the Best Actor awards. Why do you think Paul Giamatti won for Barney’s Version ? Because it has T&A. It’s simple, Highly-Weird. If you want the Golden Globes, you’d better be showing us some.
