A ctivists are getting paid from protests surrounding the death of Kenneka Jenkins in a suburban Chicago hotel earlier this month, according to the teenager’s mother. “I’m ending y’all’s agendas that’s not righteous toward my child,” Tereasa Martin accused the activists in a video posted to Facebook on Sunday night. READ MORE: Kenneka Jenkins’ Mother Announces Funeral Date Martin’s claim seemingly targeted one person in particular who has been organizing daily protests outside of the Crowne Plaza hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, where Jenkins’ body was found frozen in a walk-in storage freezer on September 9. “Who else could she have been talking about?” Jedidiah Brown asked the Chicago Sun Times during a recent interview. Brown told the Sun Times that he had raised more than $6,000 to supplement any relevant legal fees. Still, Brown went ahead and organized a protest for Tuesday despite Martin’s calls for the demonstrations to end. 5440 n river road @6pm Tomorrow! Many questions still exist im going back, this is bigger thn us. Only a direct no frm mom will stop me. — Jedidiah Brown (@livelifefreed) September 26, 2017 Martin’s appeal to have the protests end came as a social media chorus grew louder wondering about the status of the investigation into Jenkins’ death. The prospects of her death going unsolved like so many other black teens before her was a main concern of many on Twitter. It's starting to look like we'll never know what really happened to Kenneka Jenkins. — Thomas Kelly (@thomas_438) September 26, 2017 Kenneka Jenkins story gone get swept under the rug smh. Poor baby & her funeral finally this weekend. — KB (@a__mirah) September 26, 2017 Jenkins’ funeral has been scheduled to take place on the South Side of Chicago on Saturday, Martin also said in the Facebook video. Meanwhile, details of the Rosemont Police Department’s investigation into Jenkins’ death have been scarce while authorities await autopsy results. The cause of death has not yet been revealed and there is no surveillance footage of her entering the freezer. The absence of both have prompted a whirlwind of conspiracy theories , which authorities have said only slowed their investigation. Martin has pleaded for the FBI to intervene and launch its own independent probe, but Rosemont police declined the participation of the federal agency. See Martin’s full Facebook video below. Source: Aaron P. Bernstein / Getty Rep. Maxine Waters wants her supporters to be more proactive in helping her impeach Donald Trump . Don’t talk about it, be about it. Auntie Maxine appreciates that people are so responsive to her political efforts, but she told a crowd gathered at a Congressional Black Caucus Town Hall on Civil Rights that she’s expecting Black leaders to do more than just give her props. “Don’t come here and tell me, ‘Maxine, you keep on doing what you do.’ But when you gonna give me some support?” she asked. “How many of you in your organizations have said, ‘Impeach 45’?” Maxine wants her supporters to get up and do the work with her because she knows that there is power in numbers when it comes to politics. And if the audience didn’t catch it the first time, she reiterated her point, stating, “Don’t another person come up to me and say, ‘You go, girl.’ No, you go!” Some are under the impression that the business of impeaching a president is a complicated matter, but she broke down how simple it is. In short, impeachment is a moving target set by state representatives and senators. “Impeachment is about whatever the Congress says it is,” she explained. “There is no law that dictates impeachment. What the Constitution says is ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ and we define that.” The California representative then gave everyone a brief refresher on how the last impeachment happened. “Bill Clinton got impeached because he lied,” Maxine reminded everyone before running down the list of reasons that Donald Trump could be impeached. “Here you have a president, who I can tell you and guarantee you is in collusion with the Russians to undermine our democracy. Here you have a president who obstructed justice. And here you have a president who lies every day.” Circling back around to her original point, Maxine continued, “Thank God that the special counsel is beginning to connect the dots — and understand Facebook’s role in it and social media’s role in it. When is the Black community going to say, ‘Impeach him’? It’s time to go after him. I don’t hear you!” RELATED STORIES: Auntie Maxine To Jeff Sessions: ‘How Does It Feel to Be Dragged And Humiliated? Here's the mug for Brent Ahlers, the security guard shot by the imaginary suspect. pic.twitter.com/hlfEybSmDT — Lou Raguse (@LouRaguse) September 14, 2017 We’ve all heard the story before of White people lying on Black people just to save themselves from trouble — and every time it happens, it’s more bizarre than the last. This time around, it was a college campus security guard who didn’t want to face the consequences of accidentally shooting himself. After shooting himself in the shoulder on Thursday, Brent P. Ahlers’, and officer at Minnesota college, made up a story about a Black gunman in order to cover up his mistake. According to The Star Tribune , St. Paul police were immediately skeptical of Ahlers’ story that he had been shot by a black gunman in a navy blue sweatshirt with a short Afro. They did not publicly share the description of the supposed shooter. Despite their initial suspicion, the campus of St. Catherine University was still put on lockdown for hours as 55 police officers, four K-9 units and Minnesota State Patrol aircraft searched for the alleged suspect. The 25-year-old White campus cop finally came clean after police came back from their search of the alleged culprit empty-handed. On Wednesday, Ahlers told police that he made up the story because he was afraid of losing his job, where firearms are not permitted and not issued to security personnel. After being treated for a shoulder wound, the campus guard was booked into the Ramsey County jail and cited for falsely reporting a crime. He was released on his own recognizance at 4:30 a.m on Thursday. But the repercussions didn’t end there, St. Catherine University President Becky Roloff posted a statement to the school’s website Thursday evening condemning Ahler’s actions and saying that he had been fired by the university. She wrote, “Brent Ahlers was put on paid leave September 13 while the St. Paul Police conducted their investigation and the University completed a review of the facts. That status has now changed. He is no longer an employee of the University effective today, September 14. Second, I want to be clear that St. Catherine University strongly condemns racial discrimination, racial stereotyping, and racial profiling of any kind. All is well that ends well. Do you think justice was fully served? [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4184534″ overlay=”true”]

Source: Pacific Press / Getty 2017 has been the year of television telling stories about what’s happening in the world today. The latest hot topic to snag a series based on issues plaguing the nation is the Black Lives Matter movement. According to Deadline , AMC is developing a yet-to-be-named drama series that will focus on the movement, which protests police brutality and the poor treatment of Black people in America. The new show will be based on Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowery ’s bestselling nonfiction book They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore, and a New Era in America’s Racial Justice. The book, which was published by Little, Brown & Company in 2016, gives an in-depth look at how decades of racially biased policing in segregated neighborhoods, sub par schools, crumbling infrastructures, and scarcity of jobs, ultimately led to the explosive police brutality cases in Ferguson (Mike Brown), Cleveland (Tamir Rice), Baltimore (Freddie Gray) and the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement. But just like any other crusade in which Black people try to liberate themselves from oppression, BLM has been deemed a dangerous terrorist group by people like Donald Trump and those who support him. Thanks AMC for taking a risk to tell a story that has yet to be told. Will you be watching? [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4186970″ overlay=”true”]

Kid Rock encouraged his fans to “call me a racist” in part because he disagrees with Colin Kaepernick ‘s protest of the American flag and doesn’t like being reminded that “ black lives matter ,” he told the crowd at his concert in Michigan on Wednesday night. “And if you wanna take a knee or sit during our ‘Star-Spangled Banner,’ call me a racist ’cause I’m not [politically correct], and think you have to remind me that black lives matter,” the Donald Trump -supporter and potential Republican Senate candidate said in Grand Rapids, according to People . “Nazis, f–kin’ bigots, and now again the KKK — I say screw all you a–holes. Stay the f–k away!” The Grammy Award nominee appeared defiant despite a civil rights group demanding the cancellation of his upcoming concerts because of how he has championed the Confederate Flag, the Associated Press reported . Kid Rock is scheduled to perform a series of shows at the new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit to help celebrate the $860 million venue’s opening. “This is the straw that broke the camel’s back,” the National Action Network ‘s (NAN) Michigan Chapter President Rev. Charles Williams II told the AP. “When you hire Kid Rock, who is known to be dog-whistling and cat-calling to white supremacist organizations and the white supremacist community, alt-right, whatever you want to call them, and you take our tax dollars to do that? That’s wrong.” The NAN has planned an official protest next week to coincide with Kid Rock’s concerts, which begin Tuesday. Its doubtful the pressure will sway the opinion of Kid Rock, who has been the target of like-minded protests before. His response? “Please tell the people who are protesting to kiss my ass,” the singer said in a statement to then-Fox News anchor Megan Kelly during the summer of 2015. In a head-scratching move, Kid Rock was honored by the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 2011 despite his open embracing of the Confederate Flag.
