Lindsay Lohan has reportedly called in sick for a mandatory court hearing tomorrow, a likely bull$h!t excuse that could potentially land her in a world of pain. Lohan’s new lawyer, Mark Heller, submitted documents notifying the judge that the star is too ill to fly from New York to Los Angeles for the court date. Heller submitted a note from a Park Avenue doctor who says Lindsay has an upper respiratory infection and can’t fly for her own (and the public’s) safety. TMZ reports that Heller also submitted a New York Post article from January 11 explaining that the flu epidemic is ransacking the nation’s biggest city. This is Lindsay Lohan , of course, a girl who never takes responsibility and lies like it’s her job … and that may very well be the case here. Shocked? LiLo was seen Saturday on a shopping spree in SoHo (the same day the doctor allegedly examined her, mind you) and was even smoking cigarettes. Always smart and pleasurable when one has a respiratory infection. Also of note? The judge hasn’t even approved Heller, who’s based on NYC, to appear in a California court on Lindsay’s behalf after she fired Shawn Holley . Holley has tried to withdraw from the case after pleading not guilty on Lohan’s behalf this month, but there’s confusion over who – if anyone – reps her now. In any case, Lindsay is in big trouble, facing a probation violation as well as serious criminal charges for lying to police about a car crash … and now this.
