Chris Wilcox Fined For Flipping Off Kiss Cam

Chris Wilcox is apparently not a big fan of the “Kiss Cam.” After seeing himself on the scoreboard as part of pro sports’ ubiquitous mid-timeout entertainment traditon, the Boston Celtics reserve big man made his displeasure clear. By flipping off the camera and 18,000 fans watching. Wilcox was serenaded by boos and received an earful from an assistant coach moments after the gesture, which occurred inside Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center. Reactions ranged from laugher to abject horror. He was ultimately fined $25,000 “for making an obscene gesture directed toward fans during a game.” Sadly, Wilcox’s bird-flipping took place during a stoppage in play, so TV outlets didn’t catch it, and thus far, no grainy iPhone videos of the scoreboard have emerged. Evelyn Lozada has two words for NBA veteran Kenyon Martin following his criticism of her reality show Basketball Wives. Those two words, if you hadn’t guessed: F–k Him K-Mart blasted the VH1 hit recently, saying the show was “toxic” and a ” total misrepresentation ” of the lives of married NBA players. That didn’t sit well with Ev. It’s true … there are very few actual wives on the show. Baby Mamas would be more accurate. Still, the former Mrs. Chad Ochocinco bristled at Martin’s criticism, saying “I don’t think Kenyon knows what he’s talking about. As far as saying it’s toxic, fine.” Evelyn Lozada adds, “Don’t f**kin’ watch the show then. It’s as simple as that.” Hard to argue with her there. What fun would that be, though? Sure, we could all simply ignore Basketball Wives, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta and all those other classic programs, but it’s more of a love-to-hate situation. You know, as opposed to just plain hating.

Stephen Jackson Fined For Tweet Threatening Serge Ibaka

Stephen Jackson of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs has been fined $25,000 … for a Tweet in which he threatened Serge Ibaka of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jackson posted the threatening Tweet after Ibaka and L.A. Lakers forward Metta World Peace got into it during the Thunder’s 114-108 victory on Friday night. The post has since been deleted, but multiple outlets reported it read: ”Somebody tell serg Abaka. He aint bout dis life. Next time he run up on me im goin in his mouth.” “That’s a promise. He doin 2 much.” Spurs general manager RC Buford condemned the Tweet Sunday: “The recent public comments made by Stephen Jackson are absolutely unacceptable, cannot be tolerated and do not reflect the standards held by the San Antonio Spurs.” The team said Stephen Jackson would be fined, but the punishment would ”be imposed in consultation and coordination between the Spurs and the NBA.” It’s unclear if Jackson faces additional punishment from San Antonio. He apologized to Ibaka on Twitter on Sunday, calling his post ”unprofessional and childish.”

LeBron James enjoyed a ho-hum 2012, winning his first NBA title… his third MVP award… AND an Olympic Gold Medal. No, it’s safe to say the editors of the world’s most famous sports magazine didn’t exactly have a tough time coming up with the 2012 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. “He was the most dominant athlete this year,” Paul Fichtenbaum, Editor of Time Inc.’s Sports Group, said of LeBron. “The intangibles [James] brought to the court were significant in leading his teams to victory. He was a selfless player, doing whatever it took to will the Heat and Team USA, making all of his teammates better.” James is the first NBA star to land SI ‘s top honor since his teammate, Dwayne Wade, did so in 2006. As the Kim Kardashian- Kris Humphries divorce case continues to drag on… and on… and on… a source tells In Touch Weekly that the reality star is considering legal action against the NBA power forward. “She has instructed her lawyer, Laura Wasser, to give Kris and his lawyers an ultimatum: Settle now or she will sue,” a friend claims to the tabloid, adding of potential attorney fees if Kardashian goes through with this threat: “[They] could cost Kris millions.” Humphries is seeking to annul his marriage to Kardashian, somehow arguing that he was duped into the union and is owed a ton of cash beyond the prenuptial agreement he signed. He apparently also wants the Kim Kardashian engagement ring back. “Kim will launch a counterattack for defamation of character,” this insider alleges. “You can’t put a price tag on what Kris has cost her.” Ummm… we’re pretty much we can. Kardashian just touched down in Kuwait because Millions of Milkshakes is paying her hundreds of thousands of dollars to pose for a few photos. We think she’s doing okay.
