Metta World Peace Joins Kevin Hart For The ‘Cold As Balls’ Season Finale [Video]

Kevin Hart And Metta World Peace Talk NBA In Cold As Balls In Kevin Hart’s series Cold As Balls , he interviews the big wigs throughout sports from Odell Beckham Jr., to Skip Bayless, to Isaiah Thomas, to Johnny Manziel. This season has been star-studded to say the least, and unfortunately for fans, it’s coming to an end–and the last episode of the series (for now, at least) is one you don’t wanna miss. The Cold As Balls season finale features Kevin opposite former NBA Champion and 2003-04 Defensive Player of the Year, Metta World Peace . In this particularly heart-warming interview, the man of many name changes delves into the stories behind his many different monikers, his favorite teammates in the league throughout the years, and he even opens up about his struggles with anxiety and depression while playing in the league, and so much more. Some of the highlights from Kevin and Metta’s conversation include: Metta reveals that he was actually embarrassed to play the first game after changing his name from Ron Artest, but he eventually got over it. In an extremely touching and real segment, Kevin and Metta openly discuss World Peace’s battles with depression while playing in the league, and how he overcame that. The former NBA baller reflects on his time playing in Los Angeles alongside the legendary Kobe Bryant. He recalled the experience saying, “Me and Kobe were mirror images of each other in terms of competitiveness we were both crazy.  We would have a lot of confrontations at practice and he loved it.” Metta also shares why Yao Ming was his favorite teammate of all-time saying, “Yao is the strongest person I’ve ever seen in my life.” The season finale of Cold As Balls wraps everything up with a bang, and there couldn’t be a more perfect guest for the occasion than Metta World Peace. Take a peek at the episode below.

Short Circuit: Kawhi Leonard’s iLaugh Sent Twitter Into A Hilarious Johnny 5 Hissy Fit

Image via Matteo Marchi/Getty Images Kawhi Leonard’s Laugh Is The Stuff Of Social Media Hysteria Kawhi Leonard has long been labeled, for better or for worse, the most stoic man in the NBA. He’s basically Stonehenge in sneakers. Although Kawhi is under no responsibility to be as animated, as say, a Busta Rhymes, a lil’ personality can often be good for a star athlete’s brand off the court. That said, today, the first day of NBA training camp, Kawhi attempted to speak as a fully formed human to the pool of press folk who were eager to ask questions of the tranquil baller. After all, he has a new team, the Toronto Raptors, and hopefully a new attitude after it appears that he was…non-communicative with his previous place of employment, the San Antonio Spurs, toward the end of their professional relationship. That attempt to open up and being himself has gone terribly awry. Press play below to find out why. Did you hear that? That laugh? WTF WAS THAT LAUGH?!?! When we tell you that #NBATwitter is BESIDE themselves in childish laughter, jokes, GIFs, memes and everything in between… “Kawhi, laugh normally if you’re not a robot.” Kawhi: pic.twitter.com/eS3NWF40bb — What the Sports (@realwtsports) September 24, 2018 Flip the page. For The Culture: Dapper Dan Wins Lifetime Maverick Award

Source: Nicholas Hunt / Getty Dapper Dan’s glow up seems to have no end in sight. He was recently recognized for his 20 plus years of style contribution. On Tuesday, September 4 the tailor was honored at the Harlem’s Fashion Row gala hosted at Capitale New York. Mr. Day was presented with the Lifetime Maverick Award. Wearing a black tuxedo with a sequin like bow tie, that matched his signature over sized Gucci sunglasses, the famed outfitter was grateful for the distinction and the opportunity to further open doors for minority designers. “It’s something I never expected, and that’s pretty obvious by the fact I never tried to penetrate the fashion industry,” he explained to Page Six.  “I had absolutely no connection to the structure of fashion, so it was something that I never expected. But I feel great about it now — more so for what it does to people of color, for people behind me.” NBA great LaBron James also had a big night as he formally unveiled HFX x Lebron 16. It is a Nike first; a basketball shoe for women designed by women. Three African American designers crafted the shoe under James’ direction that it be themed after strong Black women. On stage the LA Laker’s speech furthered his sentiments behind the release. “I believe that African American women are the most powerful women in the world” he said. ‘Bron also cited his mother as a huge inspiration for the collaboration. “Because of you, Gloria James, I am able to give back — her sense of pride and sense of strength.” Harlem’s Fashion Row is a social company that provides a voice for multicultural designers; through a creative platform that enables these designers to sell and present their collections to key leaders within the fashion industry. Ice Cube Isn’t Done With His Kobe Bryant BIG3 Recruitment

Via | HipHop Source: David Becker / Getty DX NEW YORK, NY –  Although a rep  denied Kobe Bryant was on board  to play in the BIG3 basketball league earlier this week,  Ice Cube  isn’t giving up quite yet. In an interview with ESPN’s  Outside The Lines,  the West Coast gangsta rap icon joked that he’d take extreme measures to get the NBA legend to join the league. “To me, he’s the biggest name out there for us to get,” he said. “He’s going to have to get a restraining order on me to leave him alone about this.” Cube  predicts nature will take its course and the BIG3 will reel Kobe in organically. “I think we just keep doing what we doing putting on great basketball and I think we have a lot of retired players looking at our league and they want a piece of this,” he added. “And we’ve got a lot of players that are at the end of their career that are looking at our league. WYD?: NFL Legend Jim Brown Says He’s Pulling For Donald Trump

Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Jim Brown is officially a resident of the Sunken Place. The NFL legend recently said he’s “pulling” for Donald Trump, the racist POTUS.  It seems like Brown is a textbook contrarian. Reports TMZ : The NFL Hall of Famer appeared on “The JT The Brick Show” on Fox Sports Radio and since he’s met with so many Presidents in the past, he was asked how he felt about Trump. “I should be criticizing Trump on every level because he does certain things that call for criticism but when I look at television I see all these announcers become experts and they’re pointing the fingers and they’re not doing a doggone thing but pointing their fingers, I find myself really pulling for the president.” “Now, that would make me very unpopular in the black community, very unpopular with a lot of Americans … but I think that there are certain good things that are coming out of this Presidency because we’ve never seen anything like it.” He added, “I mean there’s confusion. A lot of people are retiring. A lot of people are giving their opinions and we have to really dig deep down inside to come with the right kind of an answer.” Also worth mentioning, despite saying it was fine late last year , Brown reportedly returned to being against NFL protesters kneeling during the National Anthem. Talk about a legend of the fall offs. Yes, Brown is an NFL legend, but come on bruh. — Photo: Getty

Run Me Back My Bread: Jesse Williams Fighting $100K Child & Spousal Support Decision

Source: Apega/WENN.com / WENN Jesse Williams lost big this summer in court after he was ordered by a judge to pay his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee $100,000 per month in child and spousal support. Now, the Grey’s Anatomy actor and activist is filing an appeal to get out of having to pay Drake-Lee what would amount to be $1.2 million annually. The Blast reports : According to documents obtained by The Blast, Williams went back to court on August 20 and filed a notice of appeal over the judge’s decision regarding his payments to ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee. Last week the TV star was denied a new trial to modify the $50,000 payment, which is based on his earnings of $521,000 per month. Williams feels that he is a victim of an error in the law, and wants his payments reduced. To be clear, this is regarding his spousal support payments to Drake-Lee, not the $50,000 in child support that he’s been ordered to pay. The consensus when the news broke didn’t exactly swing in Williams’ favor and the debate on Twitter was a hot one . Some considered the fact that Williams earns over half a million per month should be more than enough for him to handle that monthly bill he was hit with. — Photo: WENN
