In particular, Ohio son LeBron James has been charged with the duty of refusing to play another NBA game until the Department of Justice agrees to take the case and hopefully reverse the decision. He still has a long way to go, but at least Lamar Odom’s condition is improving. A source told Us Weekly that Odom “is supposed to be moved to the rehab center any day now .” Since he’s “making progress” every day, Odom’s kids are flying out to California from the east coast to spend Christmas with their dad. The former NBA stars speaks to Destiny and Lamar Jr. (mom is ex, Liza Morales) every day. “He has fought to get better mostly for them,” the source added. Odom’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian has also been a steady support, and reportedly wants to do everything she can to protect him and his reputation. “Lamar is still in really rough shape and may never be seen in public ever again,” a source told Hollywood Life . “The Kardashian family may make him take a leave of absence from public life forever almost like Rob Kardashian who hasn’t been seen for a long time in the public eye.” I had no idea the Kardashians could force people to take an indefinite “leave of absence” from humanity. NBA Ref Bill Kennedy Comes Out As Gay A new report on Yahoo! Sports reveals that NBA referee Bill Kennedy is gay . The news comes on the heels of an in-game homophobic rant by the Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo back in early December. “I am proud to be an NBA referee and I am proud to be a gay man,” Kennedy told Yahoo Sports on Sunday night. “I am following in the footsteps of others who have self-identified in the hopes that will send a message to young men and women in sports that you must allow no one to make you feel ashamed of who you are.” Commissioner Adam Silver applauded Kennedy in his effort to live his truth. “I wholeheartedly support Bill’s decision to live his life proudly and openly,” Silver told Yahoo Sports in a statement. “Throughout his 18-year career with the league, Bill has excelled as a referee because of his passion, dedication and courage. Those qualities will continue to serve him well both as a game official and as a positive influence for others. While our league has made great progress, our work continues to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity.” As for Rondo’s hateful remarks: After Kennedy, 49, ejected Rondo with consecutive technical fouls in a Kings loss to the Boston Celtics, Rondo defied league protocol to immediately leave the court and began stalking Kennedy, who had retreated to a far sideline of the floor. In the game officials’ report used as part of the NBA’s investigation – which includes details provided to Yahoo Sports from National Basketball Referee’s Association general counsel Lee Seham – Kennedy and fellow referee Ben Taylor described Rondo’s post-ejection diatribe as including the statements: “You’re a mother——- fa**ot. … You’re a f—— fa**ot, Billy.” Seham reported that a third official, Bennie Adams, outside of hearing distance, “affirmed that Rondo aggressively pursued referee Bill Kennedy and had to be restrained by teammates and escorted off the floor by Sacramento team security.” Kobe got himself fined $100,000 for using the f-bomb toward a straight ref, Rondo got himself suspended for a game that will effectively cost him $86,300. Lance Stephenson And Baby Mama Back In Court Over $12,000 A Month Support The mother of Lance Stephenson’s two children said the NBA baller tried to lowball her out of court on their kids child support – but she wasn’t having it. “He told me they didn’t need the amount of money I’m receiving now, and he’ll do anything for them, and he doesn’t want to come to court anymore,” Feby Torres testified Friday during her child support trial in Brooklyn Family Court. Torres said she didn’t respond to his text message request back in September, instead opting to have her day in court. Torres wants her current $6,000 a month child support payment doubled to $12,000 a month, with the extra money going to things like childcare so she can go back to school and finance a move to a safer area of Brooklyn. “I would like the court to award me something reasonable, something that fits my children’s needs,” Torres said. Torres testified that she’s living in such a rough part of Brooklyn that she heard “several” gunshots two days ago right outside her daughter’s bedroom window when she was home with the kids. More child support would mean she could move to a safer nabe and buy her son furniture. “The night before yesterday, there was a shooting directly around the corner from my home,” Torres said. “It was fairly close to my home. I could hear it.” But Stephenson’s lawyer Laurence Greenberg said the current $6,000 a month was more than enough for her and the kids – Laylah, 4 and Lance Jr., 1. Torres testified that she hadn’t gotten a job since she dropped out of school more than a year ago, and Greenberg said her financial records show she managed to squirrel away nearly $4,000 of the child support in a savings account. All the while the stay-at-home mom has been appearing for free in music videos, like 2 Milly’s “Milly Rock.” “There is money being spent where by there’s no need for additional child support,” Greenberg said. “Ms. Torres makes no financial contributions to the children, has her own personal expenses met…she is enhancing her own personal lifestyle.” Greenberg, said Stephenson was willing to pay any reasonable expense for his kids, including the $3,000 she said she needs for their summer camp. “This is all very nice,” Torres’ lawyer Daniel Nottes said, “but the kids are still living in a place where there’s gun shots.” Stephenson didn’t comment during the hearing, but will take the stand in March when the case is back in court. It’s been two months since Lamar Odom nearly died from an overdose at a brothel in Nevada. Now, the 36-year-old NBA star has begun the long, hard road to recovery after reportedly suffering 12 strokes that left with him permanent brain damage. Thus far, the news coming from Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles has been decidedly mixed. Lamar showed miraculous progress in the early stages of his recovery, but the weeks since have seen Odom struggling to walk and communicate. Fortunately, one insider says Odom’s progress has been slow, but steady: “He actually gets a little better every day,” the insider tells Us Weekly. “He talks a bit more each day and walks with a walker, but still has trouble processing his thoughts. It’s very slow but little by little.” Obviously, Lamar is not quite out of the woods, but the source says his frequent celeb visitors have been providing him with plenty of encouragement. In fact, Lamar recently became one of the first to hear tracks Kanye West’s new album : “Kanye came by Lamar’s room when he was at Cedars to play him a new song,” says the source. “Khloe brought him down to visit, and Kanye was nice.” Lamar is out of his coma and Kanye was nice.
