Lamar is finally getting his life together. Lamar Odom Checks Into Rehab How do you help someone who has been smoking rocks for so long? According to TMZ Lamar Odom has finally checked in to rehab to deal with his raging drug addiction … this according to a new report. People.com broke the story, saying Lamar had checked into a rehab facility … but did not specify when or where he started treatment. Lamar was seen out in public over the weekend … so the move to rehab had to be very recent. As TMZ first reported … the 32-year-old NBA star has been struggling with drug addiction for years, and most recently he’s gotten hooked on smoking rocks. Lamar was arrested for DUI last Friday. As we first reported, Khloe Kardashian issued an ultimatum to her husband over the weekend — enter rehab or their marriage is over. Lamar Odom has finally admitted that he has a problem. Following weeks of downward spiraling that included being kicked out of the home he shares with Khloe Kardashian and being arrested for DUI, the basketball star has reportedly checked into a rehab facility. Details on the location and/or specialty of the treatment center have not been disclosed. “He realized he needs help,” a source tells People of Lamar’s decision , which Khloe and other loved ones have been pushing for since mid-summer. Earlier this week, an unnamed individual gave an interview in which he claimed to be Odom’s drug dealer and detailed the celebrity’s ongoing cocaine addiction . Other reports have indicated that Odom has been excessively taking Ambien and Oxycontin. The 32-year old also violated the NBA’s drug policies twice in 2001 and admitted to serious marijuana use in a 2003 interview. “I just couldn’t control myself in L.A…. the lifestyle that I was living and the things I had access to,” he said at the time. Let’s all hope this is the final step Lamar needs to get better.
Khloe Kardashian is laying down the law. Either Lamar Odom goes to rehab and actually sticks with it this time or he can pack his things and hit the road. He is not welcome back in their home until he gets clean. As has been well documented, Lamar Odom has a problem with drugs and has been unwilling to address it since his addiction spun out of control. Khloe Kardashian has kicked him out before, only to cave and take him back, but Lamar’s DUI arrest Friday morning was apparently the last straw. According to reports, Lamar didn’t even call Khloe OR his lawyers after the arrest, leaving them to find out when TMZ broke the story hours later. Suffice it to say, his estranged wife was far from thrilled with him. Khloe and Lamar did spend time together Saturday, but after four hours of talking about his addiction to crack and who knows what else, he was sent away. To go look for his own apartment? Score some crack from the junkies downtown? Tool around with his “crack head” enabler/mistress Polina Polonsky ? No one knows, but the basketball star clearly isn’t taking a hint, leaving his wife at the end of her rope and with little choice but to do what she did. Sources say the couple is “still at an impasse” regarding his addiction, which seems ludicrous given how one-sided the debate should be at this point. Embroiled in cheating scandals and what looks like a serious substance abuse problem, Odom is effectively ruining his marriage, NBA career and life. What is Khloe to do at this point? She clearly wants to save Lamar in all those respects, but without effort or even admission on his part it will be a lost cause. Polina Polonsky, one of the women romantically linked to Lamar Odom in his recent cheating scandal, may have also been one of his “partying” partners. In fact, a new report says Odom labeled her a “groupie,” “junkie” and “crack head” while wife Khole Kardashian was breathing down his neck this month. According to texts between Lamar and Polina, an attorney who he crashed with during the last few months, she partied with him while he was doing crack. On July 13, Khloe Kardashian confronted Lamar at a downtown L.A. motel, where he was holed up with rumored mistress Polina Polonsky and doing drugs. Desperate to save her crack addict husband, Khloe manhandled him out of there and back to their home, where she begged the 33-year-old to get help. At that point, Lamar started texting Polina right in front of Khloe, telling Polina he “f–ked up.” Polonsky responded by telling the NBA star, “You’re corny.” Odom then called her a “Groupie junkie … crack head” and warned her “U might want to b careful. Narcs know. They have footage, audio n pics.” Polina’s response, perhaps offering a bit of foreshadowing, was, “Stay in your lane.” He shot back, “4real. Know where u work. U live. Ur parents.” Police arrested Lamar Odom for DUI Friday morning after he was cruising down the freeway at low speeds and having trouble staying in his lane. It’s not known what he was on, as refused all chemical tests. But cops cited “obvious” intoxication and believe he was under the influence of booze and drugs. As for Polonsky, Khloe reportedly knew Lamar had a substance abuse issue for years, but the “crack” texts clued her in to his issue with that specific narcotic. Before Lamar’s crack addiction surfaced publicly, he had been accused – at length and in detail – of having affairs with Polina and Jennifer Richardson .
