News broke on Tuesday that Casey Anthony was acquitted on all felony charges in the death of her 2-year-daughter including capitol murder, which carried the death penalty. Surprisingly, the only charge that stuck was the misdemeanor of lying to a law enforcement officer. Unfortunately, nobody is answering for Caylee Anthony but whatever side of the fence you are on with this case one thing is for sure, Casey Anthony is a free woman because of her defense lawyer Jose Baez, a 42-year-old Latino described by the Miami Herald as “a former bikini salesman, high school dropout and deadbeat dad who barely made it into the Florida bar”. Baez doesn’t exactly hold the personal pedigree of somebody that’s just pulled off the legal upset equivalent of the 1980 Miracle of Ice but, ladies and gentlemen, I think we’ve found the new Johnny Corcoran. Actress reportedly tested positive for alcohol and faces possible jail time. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images Just weeks from completing her home detention sentence, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is due in a Los Angeles court on Thursday (June 23) after allegedly violating her probation by testing positive for alcohol. According to TMZ , the 24-year-old actress tested positive for alcohol earlier this month and could be facing additional jail time if the probation department has its way. The gossip site reported that Lohan was tested twice last week for drugs and alcohol and that unnamed sources said she tested positive for alcohol on one of the tests and negative on another; both were reportedly negative for drugs. One of the tests is reported to have taken place after a rooftop barbecue party Lohan had at her condo for friends on June 12. In April, Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace but was allowed to serve a reduced 35-day term at her Venice, California, condo. She was under strict home-confinement rules and wore an electronic monitoring device. TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Probation Department will ask the judge in the case to pull Lohan from house arrest and send her directly to Los Angeles County jail. Lohan’s attorney could not be reached for comment at press time. Lohan was specifically told by the judge in her 2007 DUI case that she was not allowed to consume any alcohol while on probation. As part of her plea deal in the necklace case, Lohan was also sentenced to perform 480 hours of community service, but was ordered not to perform that work until she completed her house arrest. She was also sentenced to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course. The day started off great! When I arrived at the arena, I saw DJ Tay James. We didn’t bother him because he was with a group of people he knew talking, so we walked over to the buses. Later we saw Nick Demoura riding up on a bike and we stopped him and asked him to sign our book. Tay was walking over and we got pictures and he signed the book as well this time. He filmed us for WeKnowTheDJ.com!! We also met Kannec, and Robert Caplin who also signed our First Step 2 Forever books. Then my mom got a DM from Dave Reynolds saying, “text me your full name and number,” with his phone number in it. My mom did and when we saw him walking around, we went up to him and gave him his sweatshirt she made him. When we went in the line for the meet and greet, I saw Dan Kanter. I ran over to him and was like, “Dan! You’re on my necklace!!” He said, “Cool! I’ve seen your tweets about that! That’s so cool! “ I walked into the little tent where the m&g was, and looked at Justin. I handed Kenny the 4 letters I had with me and walked over to Justin. He said hi then I said, “Hi. Can I have a hug?” and this is what he said, “I’m actually really sick and I don’t want to get you sick. I’m really Sorry.” I told him it was okay and that he looked amazing. I remember he was wearing the same pants as Dan. Kenny and my mom talked for a little. The whole time they were talking, I just felt Justin’s arm around my waist. Finally we got the picture. On our way out I saw Dan & Tay again and got another picture. When I asked Tay for another picture he was like, “We already got one earlier!!” and I was like, “Not in my phone!” and he was like, “Ohh! I got ya!” We got to our seats and saw Kanec walking around, we called him over and I got up and hugged him. He was like, “So you met him?” I was like “Yes!!”. He saw we had Estovar stuff so he went and got Michael Vargas for us! They came back out and sat there and talked to us for at least 30 minutes. Then Michael saw we had more stuff, he asked who it was for, we told him Legaci. He went back and brought Micah out for us. Micah talked to us for a little but he wasn’t feeling well. So he took all the stuff back, and said he would send the guys out. Well about 5 minutes later, all of Legaci walked out wearing the sweatshirts. They came over to our seats and talked with us and we all hugged. Then my mom asked them if they would sing Happy Birthday to Ali since this was her present. They did! They signed stuff and told us to meet them by the buses after the concert. During ‘Down To Earth’, Alfredo was looking up and down the rows in our section and my mom stopped him and asked if he liked the hoodie she made him (Kanec took it to him for us) He looked at her and was like, “I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU! Thank you sooo much!” After the concert we walked back to the buses. Micah was out signing stuff. Then Alfredo was walking over, we called him over by FERNANDO!! He hugged me, then signed my hat. Chris and Micah tweeted us that night, Kanec DMed me and the next day, Dom and Del tweeted my mom, and Dom and Dan Kanter tweeted me! -JoHanna/ @JoHannaBeliebes Read the original here: The day started off great! After rejecting a plea deal that could have settled her grand theft case and given her a short stint behind bars, Lindsay Lohan is rolling the legal dice. The first step? A preliminary hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to order Lohan to stand trial. That is scheduled for Friday, April 22. It sounds to us like fireworks will fly in the courtroom that day. Team Lindsay is confident they’re gonna win , but the D.A. is not backing down … Los Angeles Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers is warning witnesses to expect “grueling cross examination by defense attorney Shawn Holley” at the hearing. Meyers originally planned on calling only the investigating officers to testify, but is now prepping to go all out April 22 because of a legal technicality. Lindsay, as we know, stands a good chance of being found in violation of her DUI probation regardless of what happens in the felony grand theft case. If the judge finds there is enough evidence to send Lohan to trial, that in itself will result in a probation violation, even if a jury were to later acquit her. Meyers wants to go all out to see that Lindsay is taken into custody for violating probation following the hearing, so she’s calling extra witnesses. Meyers has met with the jewelry store owner, Sofia Kaman, along with the female employee that helped LiLo with the necklace she allegedly stole. Much of the preparation is being spent on Sofia’s testimony, because of Kaman’s decision to sell the surveillance video of Lohan’s alleged theft. Meyers believes Sofia will be an excellent witness for the prosecution, despite that move. She has yet to see one dime from the sale of the tape. Just the same, Meyers expects Holley to grill Kaman about her motives and to try to raise doubts about Sofia’s credibility, inside sources report. The preliminary hearing is expected to last 2-3 days, and at the conclusion, Judge Stephanie Sautner will determine if there is enough evidence. If she does, Meyers will ask that Lindsay be jailed immediately for the probation violation, pending trial. But Sautner could allow her to post bail. Basically, it should be very interesting as there are so many scenarios that could play out in what is a surprisingly complex courtroom drama. What do you think? Is Lindsay a thief?
Who knows if it will persuade the D.A., but a surveillance video at least partially backs up Lindsay Lohan’s account of her infamous, alleged jewel thievery. The accused felon was in no hurry to bolt Kamofie & Company the day she allegedly ganked the thing, blabbing with the owner for a bit before peacing out. According to sources who have watched the tape, Lohan wore the $2,500 necklace she’s accused of stealing almost the entire time she was in the store. What goes on in the mind of Lindsay Lohan? [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Video clearly shows Lindsay trying on the necklace, checking herself out in the mirror, and appearing to ask her friend and the owner for their opinion. There is no audio on the tape. Reports say Lindsay took off her own necklace to try on the store’s necklace, which she never took off in 45 minutes. According to sources, before walking out of the store, Lindsay put her own necklace back on, but not in a way that obstructed the store’s necklace. Even better for the train wreck, with the store’s necklace still in plain view, Lindsay is seen talking to the owner for a couple of minutes before leaving. Doesn’t sound like the actions of someone that tried to steal a necklace, right? Or is she just that calculating to make it look like a misunderstanding? In rejecting a plea bargain last week, Lindsay indicated confidence that she will be vindicated by the legal system. Perhaps this is a big reason why. Of course, a probation violation could land her in jail regardless. This is what happens when you’re a total mess and constantly run afoul of the law. What do you think of her story in light of this report?

Lindsay Lohan’s excuse for walking out of a jewelry store with a piece the owner says she ripped off was that the store let her borrow the thing on loan. The store basically called BS on that, saying they don’t just loan stuff out. There are insurance requirements and lots of paperwork required beforehand. Apparently the L.A. County District Attorney agrees with the owner. Sources say that officials will soon file felony grand theft charges against Lindsay. Lindsay’s freedom in the great necklace caper is riding on her claim that the Venice, Calif., jewelery store owner loaned her the $2,500 necklace in question. Proving that might be a tough task, but proving she’s lying may be equally difficult for the accuser and D.A.’s office. Especially if someone else signed for it. But the simple fact that surveillance video from the store shows LiLo with the necklace and photos of her wearing it a week later were enough for the D.A. If convicted, Lindsay faces a maximum of three years in state prison. Can she beat the wrap on this? It will all depend on what happened at the store, or more accurately, how much of what happened the store can prove. According to a Lohan source, she doesn’t fill out diddly when she “borrows” necklaces … she leaves that to her people, or so pals of the star are saying. Lindsay is telling friends … “I don’t deal with things like that” and blowing it off as a “misunderstanding.” But there’s one issue with the ” on loan ” theory. When she figured it out, why didn’t she just return it to the store instead of sending an underling to the LAPD, just as they were ready to raid her place? That’s what law enforcement likely isn’t buying.
