Paramore, Gym Class Heroes Pick Best Fueled By Ramen Releases

In celebration of the FBR’s 15th anniversary, the label’s biggest bands rifle through its back catalog. By James Montgomery Paramore Photo: MTV News In 1996, Fueled By Ramen released the now-famous Take-Out Sampler, a cassette compilation that came packaged to look like it was ordered from your neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Last week, they released Cobra Starship ‘s Night Shades, the 130-somethingth album to bear the FBR name … and no, it wasn’t available on cassette. Still, that should give you a pretty good idea of just how far the label has come over the course of 15 years. And this week, FBR will celebrate its ongoing legacy with a pair of shows at New York’s Terminal 5 — Wednesday night’s show, featuring Paramore, the Swellers, This Providence, the Stereo and fun., will stream live on MTV.com beginning at 7 p.m. ET. And we here at MTV News are doing our part to aid in the festivities. We’ve already brought you some of the label’s biggest bands recalling the moment they signed with FBR , and now, those same bands are talking to us about their favorite albums from the label’s rather expansive back catalog. From Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco to Jimmy Eat World and Discount, here are their picks. Cassettes not included. Travie McCoy and Matt McGinley, Gym Class Heroes McGinley : “I’m going to go with Take This to Your Grave, by Fall Out Boy. You might have heard of them. [It’s a] super awesome record, and we definitely listened to it on repeat in the van all the time.” McCoy : “It’s beautiful how they kind of hid such dark and demented lyrics in such happy and poppy punk music. Genius.” McCoy : “The Academy Is … Almost Here. Front to back, it’s an amazing, amazing album, and it shoots us back to when we used to tour with those guys all the time.” McGinley : “Panic! at the Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out !” McCoy : “I remember hearing some of the demos for that album, and I was blown away and when the record actually came out, it was like, ‘Wow, these dudes are about to smash, and they tore it up.” Paramore ‘s Hayley Williams : “A really awesome release … was [the] Jimmy Eat World EP, and it had early versions of the Clarity songs. I think it makes this list because we love Jimmy Eat World so much, and it’s so awesome that they released something on our label. We’re really proud of that.” “My all-time favorite FBR release is the Impossibles’ Anthology, it’s sort of all the best Impossibles songs, and it’s incredible. They’re kind of like if Weezer were ska.” “When we were writing Brand New Eyes, I sent an email to some folks at the label requesting some music. I actually got back a Discount EP … they did a cover EP of Billy Brag songs called Love, Billy, and the cover art was really cool, I remember liking that a lot. I just really like Discount. If you don’t know who [they] are, you should check them out; I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this or not, but it may or may not be Alison from the Kills and Dead Weather fronting a pop/punk band. It’s awesome and there’s so much cool, raw energy, and her voice is great. I love the music and I think it’s very telling of that time in music for pop/punk music. Good stuff.” Help MTV celebrate Fueled by Ramen’s 15th anniversary on Wednesday, September 7, as we present a live party featuring some of your favorite FBR acts, including Paramore. Check out MTV.com at 6:30 p.m. ET Wednesday to catch all the action! Related Artists Paramore Gym Class Heroes

Heidi Klum Melting Mom Body in a Bikini of the Day

I don’t see why everyone is hating on Heidi Klum, I mean she did marry a black dude and it is kinda black dude hustle to like their women to be sloppy and out of shape…I mean 90 percent of single fat white chicks I know go to resorts in the Caribbean to get fucked twice a year…cuz those dudes will do anything for money…and sex….with a white girl….I mean I couldn’t count how many morbidly obese white chicks I’ve seen in my neighborhood with an athletic looking black dude by her site, smiling like he won the lottery….. But she’s still Heidi Klum and as much as her hot model body is melting into some sloppy battered mom of 4 mess…she’s still Heidi Klum….and some may be happy she’s not as Topless as She Was Yesterday ….I’ll always prefer a bitch showing nipple…ex model….mom…old and slopppy or not… On a sidenote….Looks like Seal likes being in her pussy so much that he’s wearing her bikini bottoms….

REVIEW: Attack the Block Doesn’t Cut Deeply, But At Least Offers Lo-Fi Thrills

Attack the Block stems from an intriguing, clever idea: What if the neighborhood thugs you hope not to encounter on your walk home from the subway turn out to be the very people who save the Earth from alien invaders? The problem is that writer-director Joe Cornish — a cohort of Edgar Wright’s, and, along with Wright, one of the writers of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming The Adventures of Tintin — doesn’t take the idea quite far enough: He begins to explore some pretty complex racial and class issues, only to let them drift out of his grasp. The picture’s finale isn’t as smart as it ought to be. Cornish tries to make a damning social statement, but the only thing you take away from the movie is how cool it is to kick alien ass.

Ride Or Die: A Gallery Of Chicks That Stand By Their Man… No Matter What!

When we think of “Ride Or Die” Tashera Simmons, longtime wife of DMX definitely comes to mind. She stayed by her hubby’s side through years of crack abuse and legal troubles, but finally threw the towel in after he had not 1, not 2, but somewhere in the neighborhood of FOUR outside kids! Still, there are some women who may have stayed anyway. Have a look at who we think they are when you continue.

Nicky “Corndog” Cannon Goofing It Up At The Annual Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest (Photos)

Nick Cannon took a break from MiMi and #DemBabies to host a hot dog eating contest this 4th of July… here’s more details on the event: Capping a week when a new scientific report concluded that Americans were eating more, and more frequently, it took 10 minutes and 62 hot dogs for Joey Chestnut to win his fifth consecutive Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, N.Y. Retaining the Mustard Belt once again, Chestnut of San Jose, Calif., has dominated the competition. He set the all-time record in 2009, downing 68 hot dogs and buns, the equivalent of 21,000 calories, in 10 minutes. For the first time, Nathan’s sponsored separate competitions for men and women. Sonya Thomas of Alexandria, Va., took the Pepto-Bismol Pink Belt title in the first-ever competition for women, eating 40 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, one shy of her 2009 record. The 100-pound woman never stopped moving during the contest, constantly bouncing and twisting her way to victory. She shoved hot dogs in her mouth with one hand, while cradling a cup of liquid to wash them down with the other. Her jaws and teeth shredded the sausages as if they were saplings being fed into a wood chipper. Thomas, also known as “The Black Widow,” was the odds-on favorite going into the contest. She set the women’s record in 2009 by eating 41 hot dogs and buns during the joint competition. The women’s runner-up was rail-thin Juliet Lee — “the Pippa Middleton of Maryland” — and Michelle Lesco came in third. “I got the hiccups,” she said in her post-contest stage interview. 21,000 calories???? That’s disgusting. Source

The Swirl: SMH At These Folks Acting Astonished That Chinese Men Are Now Wifing Up African Women!

Asian women getting chop down action or even getting wifed up by brothers is nothing new, but some folks are acting brand new about the so-called phenomenon of Chinese men marrying African women. One of our faithful readers sent us this post on ChinaSmack.com about Chinese men wifing up African women and we found some of the comments disturbing: Chinese women marrying blacks is no longer something rare, whereas in comparison men very rarely dare to bring black girls back home to China. I won’t say anything and go ahead and post the photos. In my neighborhood is a Chinese engineer who returned from Angola, and his wife is a black girl. However, she’s one of those very pretty high-end black girls. She’s very slender and not one of those fat auntie types. Her skin also isn’t the kind of oily/greasy black but rather black-brownish and more brown. They have two children, about five or six years old, twin boys. As for their appearance, unfortunately, the father’s genes were really too strong. Aside from their skin being slightly darker, their faces look very much like their daddy. Large-scale marrying of African women can effectively solve China’s male-female sex-ratio imbalance problem! More photos and comments on the next page…

CoCo’s Cleavage Is Actually Respectable

I’m a little confused by these pictures, this is CoCo right? Ice-T’s wife? The chick who normally dresses like she’s the headliner at your neighborhood strip club and who just recently posted pictures of herself balancing a beer can on her giant thonged booty on Twitter ? I don’t recognize her. I think it’s the fact that she’s dressed so normally. That’s no fun. Alright, so she’s showing off a hell of a lot of cleavage for the average woman, but this isn’t the average woman…. This is CoCo damn it. Those things should be floating in pitchers of beer or pressed up against a motorcycle. I’m not sure I like this new look.
