We Might Be Getting Some New Collaboration Tracks From Chance The Rapper And Vic Mensa In 2018

Continue reading here:

Source: Neilson Barnard / Getty Though Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper came up together in Chicago, there has been some animosity between the two in more recent years. Whatever the case is with their former ill will, it looks like things are all good between the pair–and we might even be getting music out of them soon. During a recent interview with Beats 1, Vic finally put all rumors of negativity toward his Chi Town pal to rest, but even more exciting is the fact that he teased some upcoming collaborations on the way.  Vic spoke with host Ebro Darden saying, “We been in the studio plenty of times. We got a couple of really dope records, actually,” he continued. “There was a record that me, Chance, and Valee did at one of my cribs in Chicago.” He didn’t provide any further details surrounding the music, but he did offer some insight on how their relationship has grown in more recent years.  “That’s my brother through and through,” Mensa continued. “There was times when me and Chano ain’t have bus fare and the Milwaukee Ave. bus ain’t running, so we sleeping sideways in somebody’s abandoned car. I’ve been through a lot of shit with Chance. Brothers fight, [but] that’s been over with for some time now.” Of course, the two rappers have collaborated on tracks before–including “Cocoa Butter Kisses” and “Suitcase”–but we haven’t gotten anything from them together in a few years. Here’s to hoping we get some new music from Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper in 2018.

James Franco Enjoys Being ‘Attached To Iconic’ Parts Like ‘Oz’

Actor plays title role in Sam Raimi’s ‘Wizard of Oz’ prequel, which also stars Mila Kunis, Zach Braff. By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz James Franco Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images At this point, we’re pretty sure there’s nothing that James Franco can’t do. He’s an Academy Award-nominated actor. He’s the author of a collection of short stories called “Palo Alto.” He directs, produces and writes his own films. He’s cast in project after project, including Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers” and the new Nick at Nite series “Hollywood Heights.” He’s even directing a documentary based on the world of pornography, all the while attending school in some fashion, as either a student or a teacher. We can hardly keep up! One of the most anticipated projects on his plate is the Disney film “Oz: The Great and Powerful,” in which Franco plays the title role alongside Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Zach Braff. When MTV News caught up with the ever-talented actor, he told us that he enjoys being attached to a multitude of ventures, especially something as legendary as “Oz.” “I do like to do a lot of different things, and I think there is something really nice about being part of a bunch of institutions by being in this film,” he explained. “Disney is a place that’s been a big part of my life, and a lot of people’s lives, since I was a kid. ‘The Wizard of Oz’ has also been a huge part of my life. The [L. Frank] Baum books were some of the first books I read on my own, so I like being attached to something as iconic as this.” The film, directed by Sam Raimi , is a prequel to “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” that explains how the wizard came to power in the land. And while the cast is tight-lipped about their roles in the movie, Mila Kunis offered up a tiny explanation about her character, Theodora, to MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. “She’s a good person who gets her heart broken,” the actress explained. “What happens to young ladies when their heart gets broken?” “They turn into horrible, evil witches,” Horowitz answered. With a smile, Kunis replied, “You said it, not me.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Clipse’s Pusha T Readying Solo Mixtape Fear of God

The Virgina rapper will drop a tape on September 14, as rumors swirl that he’ll also join Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music collective. By Mawuse Ziegbe Pusha T Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images Clipse’s Pusha T is preparing to make a move as a solo artist with the release of a new mixtape set to drop in the fall. Clipse manager Steve Victor confirmed to MissInfo.tv that Pusha has set a September 14 release date for his solo tape. The Virginia MC even shouts out the title, Fear of God, in his “Bidding War” freestyle, which recently surfaced on the Web. The mixtape due date is an intriguing choice as rumors have been swirling that Push might be joining Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. music collective, many of whom — ‘Ye, Kid Cudi, Consequence and Big Sean — are dropping albums on the same day. Pusha T, with his brother and partner-in-rhyme, Malice, dropped their latest album, Til the Casket Drops, on December 8, 2009 , a date also crowded by a spate of new hip-hop releases from artists such as Gucci Mane and Snoop Dogg. While readying the release of Casket, Push opened up to MTV News about his favorite track on the album. ” ‘Freedom’ is a redemption song,” Push told us. “It’s an apology; it gives a rhyme and reason for some of the things and some of the attitudes of the Clipse. It says ‘sorry’ just as much as it says we’re better [than other rappers], and we’re still the best … ever.” Malice has also been keeping busy. The MC recently released the video short “This Is Only a Test,” in which he weaves spiritual rhetoric into his narrative about a man grappling with street life. Clipse are also scheduled to hit the stage at this year’s Rock the Bells Tour , kicking off August 21. Are you surprised Pusha T is going solo on his next effort? Tell us in the comments! Yung Berg Denies Being Robbed

‘I’m fine; I’m good,’ rapper says in video blog dispelling rumors that he was beaten and robbed in L.A. By Jayson Rodriguez Yung Berg Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images “Sexy Can I” rapper Yung Berg has taken to Twitter and YouTube to dispel rumors that he was beaten and robbed at gunpoint in Los Angeles last weekend. On Wednesday morning (February 24), TMZ reported that the Chicago-born lyricist was “violently beaten” during a house party after four assailants entered the premises. The gossip site said that Berg and another person were attacked, and the suspects made away with $10,000 in chase and jewelry. But police told MTV News on Wednesday that there was no police report on file that mentioned the rapper (born Christian Ward). Berg himself denied the report on Wednesday afternoon (February 24) in a two-minute video blog he posted on YouTube . The rapper looked directly into the camera and displayed no traces of having been assaulted. “I’m fine; I’m good,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with nobody. I’m still gorgeous. I love you Mom, thanks you for these good genes.” Young Berg’s reps had not responded at press time to an inquiry made by MTV News, but TMZ reported that a rep for the rapper indicated he wasn’t even in California when the crime was allegedly committed. Instead, Berg was in Las Vegas, and in the YouTube clip he says he’s been there recording music. News of the alleged incident made #YungBergsChain one of the top trending topics on Twitter and Yung Berg became a top Google search term. “Shout out to TMZ,” Berg said in his video. “Thank you for the free promo and publicity — it’s just not the right publicity. I wish I was talking about the album or the mixtape.” The rapper has been subject to numerous robbery hoaxes after reported altercations occurred between the upstart artist and Detroit underground act Trick Trick, and after a separate incident involving Maino. But Berg urged his Twitter followers to dismiss the latest rumors. “PLEASE BELIEVE HALF OF WHAT U SEE,” he wrote in all caps. “AND NONE OF WAT U HEAR!!!! : )” Related Artists Yung Berg

Superior Court on Tuesday Photo: Mark Ralston/Getty Images Chris Brown was formally sentenced for the altercation he was involved in with Rihanna earlier this year, and although much of what occurred on Tuesday was simply putting a stamp on an agreement reached back in June, one thing that stood out was the protective order issued against the “Forever” singer was not lifted.
