Hol’ Up, What Now? Hillary Clinton Protects Sexual Harasser, Then Shouts Out “Activist And Feminist B!t¢hes”

Image via Andrew Chin/Getty Hillary Clinton Retained Sexual Harasser, Congratulates “Activist B****es” Despite the fact that she lost the Presidential election in 2016, Hillary Clinton is still embroiled in scandals related to her political career. The NYTimes broke news yesterday that Hillz protected a former adviser, Burns Strider, during her 2008 Presidential campaign after he was outed for repeatedly sexually harassing one of his subordinates. Rather than fire the man, as her then campaign managers suggested, Clinton docked the man several weeks of pay and ordered to “counseling” while the his victim was reassigned positions. We’d be remiss to omit the fact that Burns Strider’s official title was “faith adviser”, he is the founder of, wait for it…the American Values Network and sent Hillz bible scriptures every morning. A story appeared today about something that happened in 2008. I was dismayed when it occurred, but was heartened the young woman came forward, was heard, and had her concerns taken seriously and addressed. — Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) January 27, 2018 I called her today to tell her how proud I am of her and to make sure she knows what all women should: we deserve to be heard. — Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) January 27, 2018 So, there’s that. Then, a video of Hillz was recording strange a message for Huffington Post’s Alex Mohajer. A message “to all the activist bitches supporting bitches” by the inimitable @HillaryClinton . pic.twitter.com/fnUfsJnUN4 — Alex Mohajer (@AlexMohajer) January 27, 2018 Here’s to all the feminist and activist b!t¢he$. Black Excellence: Google Pays Tribute To Dr. Martin Luther King And His Glorious Dream

Google Celebrates MLK Day Holiday With Special Doodle Kudos to Google for always rising to the occasion! Today’s Google doodle is dedicated to the legendary civil rights leader. The tech company posted about the artwork on their site: Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., Baptist minister, Nobel Laureate, and civil rights activist who dedicated his life working tirelessly for peace, social justice, and opportunity for all Americans – irrespective of color or creed. On November 2, 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed a bill creating a federal holiday to honor Dr. King. It was federally observed for the first time on January 20, 1986, and over 30 years later, the day is traditionally celebrated as a day of service, with people volunteering time and talent to help others, thus paying homage to Dr. King’s legacy. Today’s Doodle by guest artist Cannaday Chapman was also developed in collaboration with the Black Googlers Network (BGN), one of the largest employee resource groups at Google. The image depicts a young girl perched on her father’s shoulders, enthralled by the power and eloquence of Dr. King’s words. The scene is evocative of Dr. King’s dream for children everywhere to one day live in a better world. Cannaday shares his thoughts on today’s Doodle below: Q: What does MLK and MLK day mean to you personally? A: Martin Luther King Jr.’s message is especially relevant today and will be relevant for the remainder of civilization. Dr. King is most remembered for fighting for the rights of African Americans, but he fought for the rights of all Americans. He believed in fairness and equity for everyone. As a black man, I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing today if it wasn’t for him and the brave people of the civil rights movement. You can read the full post from Google HERE Continue reading

Meghan Markle and I are Totes Tight, Half Sister Alleges

With all the talk surrounding Meghan Markle and the family into which she’s about to become a member, a certain someone would like to remind folks about Meghan Markle’s actual family. And that certain someone is her half-sister, Samantha Grant. Grant has become somewhat of a celebrity herself ever since Markle entered the mainstream conversation early last year. She has been granting interviews and trying to get her name out there on a frequent basis for several months now. In the latest case of Grant attempting to capitalize off her sibling’s fame, Grant sat down and spoke to Fox News about various rumors surrounding the soon-to-be Mrs. Prince Harry. “Don’t believe anything you read in tabloids,” Grant says. “Those stories are written to create controversy and sell magazines.” In this initial case, the topic at hand was chatter that Markle would be walked down the aisle by her mother, NOT her father, because she isn’t especially close to her dad. (The former actress’ parents have been divorced for years.) “My father, when we see these tabloids, and it’s every day, we just roll our eyes,” Grant explains, adding: “There are so many rumors, like Meghan doesn’t get along with her dad or he’s reclusive. He’s not. “They talk regularly… Her relationship growing up with him was great. It’s still great now.” Thomas Markle lives a quiet life in Mexico and is on record as saying he would love to walk Markle down the aisle on her wedding day, which is scheduled for May 19. “My father is very close to Meg,” continued Grant, elaborating: “All of that perception created by the press is a horrible, despicable lie… It’s really unfortunate and it has caused the family a lot of pain… It’s atrocious. “And if I’ve had billions of dollars, there are about 50 publications I would go after and sue… But I’m in a wheelchair. I don’t have time or energy to be doing all of that.” Grant has been offered a TLC special and has claimed in the past that she plans to write a tell-all about Markle. Many quickly assumed this memoir (titled “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister”) would be a hatchet job, but Grant now insists she’s been misunderstood. And so has the relationship between her and Markle, who did not grow up in the same house because they are 17 years apart in age. “My relationship with my sister for a while was really hurt because of the perceptions out there,” says Grant. “And I have to say, my book’s not what all of these people are saying it is… Just because it has the word ‘pushy’ doesn’t mean it’s a slamming tell-all… I was making fun of the tabloids… “My goal is really to show how lovely and amazing she is. I look forward to the both of us hopefully laughing over this.” What about the rumor that Grant and Markle have not spoken in a decade? “We spoke in 2014,” Samantha swears. “That doesn’t make us estranged by a decade… When you got someone in the family who is famous, just because they jet-set and have a busy, distracting life, it doesn’t mean anyone in the family is estranged… “Our families have always been very much in touch. And certainly growing up, we were very close.” Still… they haven’t talked in four years?!? Grant simply chalks this up to Markle being “busy” with her career, which took off thanks to her role on the USA Network hit Suits. In conclusion, Grant thinks she’ll be invited to Markle and Harry’s wedding . “I would be honored and to the best of my knowledge, I’m going [to the wedding],” she says. “That’s all I will say… I [still] see her as my little Meggie. She’s a woman now, but I still see her as my baby sister.” We think Samantha may be in for a major disappointment. View Slideshow: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: Official Engagement Photos!

Farrah Abraham: Teen Mom is Too Fake to Win Awards!

Believe it or not, Teen Mom has been nominated for an award! That’s great news for fans of the franchise who have longed for it to receive better recognition for showing the lives and struggles of these young mothers. You know who isn’t loving this news? Farrah Abraham.  Great news for MTV and for Teen Mom fans! MTV’s official Twitter account tweeted out this: “NEWS: #TeenMom Is nominated for Best Unstructured Reality Series at the 2018 #CriticsChoice Awards! @AmberLPortwood” Their competition in this category includes: Born This Way Ice Road Truckers Intervention Live PD Ride With Norman Reedus We’re willing to bet that most people haven’t even heard of every series on the list, but this is the Critics Choice — it’s about which series they believe is best-executed, not necessarily which show is most popular with all viewers. But Farrah Abraham was not in a celebratory mood: Farrah replied to the tweet, writing: “I don’t think it will win as it’s very structured, manipulated by the network.” So, this is the sort of stuff that Farrah — like so many disaffected reality stars — love to say about a reality show once they’ve left. Farrah’s tweet continued: “production & almost scripted story lines at this point…” So, nothing that we haven’t heard from her before. Cattily, MTV’s Twitter account replied to Farrah: “Well it’s a honor being nominated it’s at pretty big award show.” Honestly, part of what must have gotten under Farrah’s skin was that MTV had directly tagged Amber Portwood in the announcement. Farrah really doesn’t like Amber Portwood . But another issue that Farrah has lately is that she, well, is being forced by a producer to choose between continuing with her sex work or being a Teen Mom OG star .  (It’s a little more complicated than that; we’ll get to that) We all remember how Farrah Abraham has rambled about “hate crimes,” which she apparently believes are just things that people hate. She accused Viacom, MTV’s parent company that also owns like, most things that aren’t owned by Disney (we’re exaggerating … barely) of shaming her. She first announced that she was fired … and then clarified that she was not fired, merely hate-crimed and sex-shamed. The real story behind Farrah Abraham’s “firing”  is that a producer who represents neither Viacom nor MTV presented Farrah with the ultimatum: quit camgirling or quit  Teen Mom . He didn’t have the authority to do that. He also appeared to stage the situation so that Farrah’s reaction could be caught on camera. Maybe he was just looking for drama. However, he caused a serious rift between Farrah and MTV and Viacom, because Farrah tends to explode with anger and resentment instead of, you know, realizing that one dickish producer overstepped his bounds. In the process, she may have alienated herself from the decision-makers who do matter. And that’s what Farrah’s response to MTV’s nomination was — she’s still bitter and resentful and, as usual, spent a lot of time and energy taking it out on the wrong people while making things worse for herself. It is, if nothing else, very on brand for her. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham Named Ambassador for Sexual Positivity, Because Obviously

Counting On: Have the Duggars Been Canceled by TLC?!

Of all of the reality star families on television, few – if any – are more controversial than the Duggar family of Tontitown, Arkansas. They’re so controversial, in fact, that 19 Kids & Counting was cancelled years ago. Yet most of the clan still appears on  Counting On . Since last season ended, there’s been no official word of renewal, and no shortage of scandals involving the Duggars, making us wonder: Has TLC finally canceled Counting On ? The Duggars were always going to be controversial, from rearing 19 children to their extreme views of the world in which they are raised. Yet those same unorthodox rules and lifestyle guidelines are what made 19 Kids and Counting such a talked about series in the first place. The supervised “courtships” and side-hugs, Michelle’s hair, and again the very concept of having 19 children made the Duggars interesting. Many watched and appreciated how they clung to their religious and moral convictions. Others watched with more concern and fascination. Realizing that there are people in the US whose children are forced to grow up this way, isolated from mainstream society, some grew alarmed. None of that is what got 19 Kids and Counting taken off the air, however. Back in 2015, 19 Kids and Counting was canceled by TLC. That happened because Josh Duggar molested five little girls, including his own sisters. One of those sisters was only five years old . And Jim Bob and Michelle had covered it up. So, suddenly, Counting On became the vehicle for the Duggars to espouse their worldviews … without Josh, of course. And, initially, without Jim Bob and Michelle, though they have made occasional appearances on the rebooted version. While it returned to the airwaves and the more salacious scandals died down,  Counting On hasn’t exactly been scandal-free, either. We don’t just mean  Duggar daughters wearing pants or Joy-Anna Duggar’s very probably shotgun wedding or Jill Duggar’s nose piercing , either. We mean actual scandals. Like the one that got Derick Dillard fired from Counting On  after a series of comments he made, of his own volition, and on his own time. Derick and Jill had been slammed multiple times for shadily begging fans for money to help with their already controversial “mission trips.” But what got Derick Dillard fired by TLC was his ongoing, one-sided feud with fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Jazz is a teenage star of her own series, I Am Jazz . What stuck in Derick’s craw was that Jazz is trans, and he feels “transgender is a myth.” An odd thing to say about a teenage girl who literally exists. It’s also the kind of statement that leads to real-world violence against trans women. Just the same, Derick continued to attack Jazz over social media and to misgender her at every opportunity, until finally TLC had enough. The question remains: will Derick Dillard’s firing – the network made it clear he won’t be back – lead to the cancellation of the entire series? Even two and a half years later, Josh Duggar scandal hasn’t actually gone away, except (apparently) in the minds of the Duggars. Counting On has had six seasons. But we don’t know if there will be a seventh, and based on recent events, it’s looking doubtful. The  Inquisitr reports that TLC posted that Counting On had been renewed … only to immediately delete the post. That’s a clue … but of renewal for season seven, or of cancellation? No one knows, although there are theories. It may be that TLC intended to release the renewal announcement for the show, and accidentally posted it early. That happens sometimes when you’re scheduling a post for a future date, either on a webpage or social media. It may also be the case that TLC had scheduled a renewal post a while back … and then forgotten to cancel it when they changed their minds. The Duggars have posted on their own family blog that they don’t yet know if they’re getting renewed. Which means that no one outside of TLC knows. View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Secrets of Their Twisted Ministry Revealed The fact that TLC hasn’t openly declared whether the Duggars are getting the axe or a renewal is probably a sign that TLC may still be weighing their options. They’ve already looked at ratings, so there must be other factors that they’re considering. Perhaps things of which the public isn’t even aware. Our guess is that higher-ups are either still mulling it over … or they’ve decided to cancel Counting On and are waiting for the right time to drop the news. Perhaps back-to-back with another announcement? Or perhaps over the holidays? We’ll let you know as soon as we find out, but things are looking grim for fans of the Duggars. Matt Lauer Replacement: Sabotaged by… You-Know-Who!

Matt Lauer is out. But who is in?!? On the heels of NBC axing Lauer from his co-hosting gig on The Today Show, in the wake of VERY disturbing sexual misconduct allegations , questions are starting to go from this: What the Hell is wrong with Matt Lauer?!? To this: Who will replace Matt Lauer? Some have naturally speculated that Megyn Kelly will swoop in and take Lauer’s seat alongside Savannah Gurthrie, considering how much NBC is paying her each year. But she only just started her own hour on Today. Would the network really move her so quickly? If not Kelly, however, it really is unclear just who will take over for Lauer, which is largely because Lauer himself has served as a deterrent to potential future anchors. Remember: these sexual assault charges are shocking. But there’s been talk of Lauer getting fired for years now, due to his huge contract, the show’s faltering ratings and his perceived bad attitude. Lauer was aware of these rumors. In response, he went out of his way to ensure such reporters as David Gregory, Josh Elliott and Billy Bush were unprepared to sit in his chair. “Matt killed off, in their infancy, every man who could succeed him at the time that he was ready to hang it up,” an insider tells Page Six. “So there’s nobody to take his place. And now NBC is paying the price.” Hoda Kotb announced that Lauer was fired early last week, but she’s entrenched with Kathie Lee Giffored on their own hour of Today. No one takes her seriously as a candidate. Reportedly, Craig Melvin, who serves as a host on Weekend Today, is being strongly considered for the job of Lauer’s replacement. However, one network executive doesn’t think he’s suitable. “I couldn’t pick him out of a lineup,” this executive tells The New York Post. At the moment, Willie Geist probably leads the pack. He’ll get the job, if we had to guess right now. Ironically, meanwhile, ratings for Today have shot up in the wake of Lauer’s firing. We guess this isn’t all that stunning, with folks wanting to tune in and see how the series is handling his dismissal. To the network’s credit, Today has been covering the Lauer debacle just like any news story. It’s not holding anything back just because it is involved in the case. And to whomever does replace Lauer, there’s no reason to be nervous: Lauer may have raped someone . In other words: he’s set the bar VERY low. You’ll do fine. Tobacco Giant Calls On Sharpton To Help ‘Decriminalize’ The Black Community

Go here to read the rest:

Tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds , the top seller of Newport cigarettes — the most favored by many black smokers — has been enlisting black groups, leaders, and activists, including Rev. Al Sharpton and ex-Florida Congressman Kendrick B. Meek, to hold meetings at prominent black churches on the theme of “Decriminalizing the Black Community.” A FairWarnings report notes that the company “is seizing on the hot-button issue of police harassment of blacks to counter efforts by public health advocates to restrict menthol sales.” The report goes on to say that “Sharpton and Meek, along with speakers from groups involved in criminal justice reform, have warned of the unintended consequences of banning” menthol cigarettes. The meetings have been held at churches in cities including Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and Oakland. There’s concern that banning the minty cancer sticks will create an underground market and give police new reasons to harass and lock up black males. R.J. Reynolds has reportedly paid travel costs for the panelists and contributed to their organizations. However, promotional flyers (here, here and here) suggest that Sharpton and his National Action Network are the main sponsors of the meetings, rather than the tobacco company. Anti-smoking advocates have blasted the campaign as deceptive and a scare tactic. “How can the tobacco industry care about criminalization when they don’t even care about killing you?’’ said LaTrisha Vetaw, who attended a Jan. 25 meeting at the Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis, where a few dozen people turned out to hear Sharpton and be treated to a lunch of chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and cake. Sharpton led protests against police abuses following the death of Eric Garner, who was choked out by a psycho cop in 2014 for selling untaxed single cigarettes. Sharpton has not made up his mind about a menthol ban, according to a tape of the meeting. “I am not on either side of the argument,” he said. ”I want to hear and listen.” He expects the National Action Network to take a position on a menthol ban at its convention in April. In an interview with FairWarning, Sharpton said Meek, a Reynolds consultant who serves as moderator at the meetings, ”asked us to consider the unintended consequences of a menthol ban,” and also asked him to appear at several of the churches. Meanwhile, Najee Ali — Sharpton’s political director of NAN in Los Angeles — issued the following statement to EUR regarding the issue: I was paid a small sum to invite a group of leading South L.A community leaders for a private presentation on the [tobacco issue] a few weeks ago. But after listening to the presentation myself I realized that I didn’t want an association with a corporation that is responsible for so much death, disease, and suffering. I apologized to all my colleagues I had invited afterwards. This is a modern day example of an old tobacco industry tactic. The tobacco industry has a long history of co-opting community leaders and organizations through financial donations and sponsorship. In doing so, the tobacco industry is able to buy silence. The tobacco industry has been spending money for decades to create beautiful lies to hide the ugly truth. Those lies are spread by community leaders who should be ashamed of themselves for selling out and selling death to those who believe and trust them. I’m not sure what Rev Sharpton, or Rev K.W.Tulloss the Western Regional Director of the National Action Network position is on this. But I trust and support them. They can speak for themselves. My position is clear I love my people too much to betray them. Like BlackAmericaWeb.com on  Facebook . Follow us on  Twitter  and   Instagram Sign Up For Our Newsletter!
