Audrina Patridge And Her Tasty Cupcakes

Like a lot of Americans over the holiday season, it would seem that jobless hottie Audrina Patridge has found herself some seasonal employment. Here she is handing out cupcakes at one of those food truck things that are all the rage right now. At least according to the Food Network . I wouldn’t mind getting a taste of some of her cupcakes… If you know what I mean and I think you do because I always talk about her amazing fake breasts. Anyhow, I’m proud of her. Finally, an honest days work. If this doesn’t work out there’s always stripping.

Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Files Appeal

Murray will represent himself as he contests involuntary manslaughter conviction for which he faces up to four years in state prison. By Kara Warner Dr. Conrad Murray Photo: Pool/ Getty Images As expected, Michael Jackson ‘s former doctor Conrad Murray has filed an appeal to challenge his involuntary manslaughter conviction. According to TMZ , Murray filed the petition in pro per, which means he has decided to forego hiring legal representation and represent himself. He reportedly listed “Men’s Central Jail” and his booking number in the space on the appeal document where a lawyer would normally list a firm’s name or contact information. TMZ also reported that although Murray seems to be without a lawyer, he is still in communication with Nareg Gourjian, one of the attorneys who represented him during his manslaughter trial. “This case presents a gold mine of issues for any appellate lawyer,” Gourjian told TMZ. “Dr. Murray is confident that the Court of Appeal will vindicate him.” Following the guilty verdict, Murray’s lead defense lawyer Ed Chernoff told CNN, “What matters most right now is trying to keep Dr. Murray from taking up a prison cell in this community. That’s what we’re focusing on right now, and we’ll deal with an appeal after that.” Murray faces up to four years in state prison on the charge, but because of recent changes in California sentencing laws aimed at reducing prison overcrowding, he is unlikely to spend any time in a state facility. Gourjian has said he expects Murray to spend “maybe a little bit” of time in county jail. Related Videos Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Sentenced Related Artists Michael Jackson

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Roman In Moscow’ Is ‘Bomb’

‘It’s a shut-the-game-down record,’ StreetRunner tells Mixtape Daily about just-released Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded single. By Rob Markman Nicki Minaj Photo: Jon Kopaloff/ FilmMagic Behind the Beats: StreetRunner and Sarom Roman is back, and on her new track, Nicki Minaj ‘s alter ego gets into all types of musical mischief. “Roman in Moscow” starts with a maniacal build of piano strikes into a full-on frenzy of thudding drums, spacey synths and crashing symbols. It’s a track befitting the fictional Roman Zolanski, who was once exiled into boarding school, but has since escaped. Credit veteran beatmakers StreetRunner and Sarom for crafting the first peek at the Best New Artist Grammy nominee’s upcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. It took a couple of tries, but after about eight different versions of track, the production duo, who exist in a larger crew of boards-men called the Network, finally came up with something that perfectly suited Nicki’s mood. “Once we heard from Nicki’s camp that they were really interested in the track, we had to go back in on it and tailor make it a little more for her,” said StreetRunner, who was nominated for a Grammy this week for his work on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV . “It took a good eight tries to get it into pocket, but once we got it, we knew it.” The duo submitted the first version of the beat to Team Minaj in October, and by their estimation, it took about a month for them to tweak the instrumental and for Nicki to record her verses. The song was mixed earlier this week and released Friday (December 2) on iTunes. Surprisingly, however, StreetRunner and Sarom didn’t hear the final track until Friday’s release. “Keeping music under wraps right now is very important if you want to avoid it getting leaked,” said Street, who saw a number of tracks he thought he had placed on Weezy’s Tha Carter III illegally released online, then ultimately left on the cutting-room floor. Sarom also lost records that could’ve potentially made Wayne’s 2008 gem, but for him, “Roman in Moscow” was well worth the wait. “Of course she’s gonna go in on every single track, but she just came off on some other sh– today,” he told Mixtape Daily . “I can’t even believe it.” The song definitely isn’t a pop affair. Nicki as Roman leaves behind her cutesy “Super Bass” persona in exchange for something more sinister. She starts off her first verse, “I’m big Willie, no bike gear/ I told you bitches last year, I’m a rap bitch nightmare/ That’s why I call you Buzz Lightyear/ ‘Cause by the time you start buzzin’ bitch, you gonna have white hair.” By the end of her two-verse lyrical triad, Nicki goes on a humorous rant. “Yeah ain’t no motherf—in’ prayers bitch, ain’t no motherf—in’ hook, ain’t no motherf—in’ third motherf—in’ verse,” her potty mouth spews. “Roman’s back, bitch/ I f—ed up your life last year this time, remember that?” Street, who started his career as a DJ, said, “That intro to the first few lines that she says, it’s a shut-the-game-down record. Any DJ who’s on radio and just wants to drop bombs, that intro is gonna happen, bomb.” Share your thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s “Roman in Moscow” in the comments! ‘X Factor’: Why Isn’t It As Huge As ‘American Idol’?

One writer makes the case for why you should be watching Simon Cowell’s latest import. By Gil Kaufman, with additional reporting by Jim Cantiello “X Factor” judge Simon Cowell Photo: Ian Derry / FOX Imagine a reality competition that mixes the drama of “Dancing With the Stars,” the variety-show feel of “America’s Got Talent,” the weekly singing battles of “American Idol” and the cutthroat competition between celebrity judges of “The Voice.” That would be amazing, right? Well, guess what? It exists, and it’s called “The X Factor.” But chances are you’re not watching it. Simon Cowell’s bid to make “Factor” the new “Idol” hasn’t taken off as quickly as he brashly predicted earlier this year. The show is pulling in a solid 9-plus million viewers per night, which is about half of the 20 million Simon promised. But Nielsen recently reported that the strong ratings helped the Fox Network — which also airs “Idol” — win the November “sweeps” period among the coveted 18-29 demo by grabbing the top spot among unscripted programs. And yet, even as “Factor” drills down to its final seven contestants this week, the show has failed to develop that must-see-TV aura that “Idol” has enjoyed for nearly a decade. After covering “Idol” for nine seasons, I was exceedingly reluctant to take on yet another musical competition show, but somehow “Factor” has wormed its way into my TiVo and I’ve become a major fan. So in case you haven’t been watching, here’s what I think you’ve been missing: Stars Forget for a moment that Cowell remains the biggest name in reality-TV judging, or that he recruited his Paul McCartney — Paula Abdul — to join him on the judging panel. So far, the show has hosted eye-popping performances from Willow Smith, Jessie J, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars and, this week, Tinie Tempah. Yes, “Idol” also lands big names, but it’s often saddled with giving up prime-time slots to snoozy former winners and finalists like Constantine Maroulis, Crystal Bowersox and David Cook, whose careers have not exactly set the charts on fire. The Stage If nothing else elevates “Factor” above “Idol” or “The Voice,” it’s the elaborate, over-the-top staging. “Idol” pulls out the big guns for the finale, but from the very first live show, “Factor” has been giving us VMA/Grammy-worthy production numbers complete with backup dancers, constantly varying sets and a massive video-screen-covered stage that makes each performance feel like an event. The craftsmanship is so bombastic at times that it’s easy to forget that you’re essentially watching nobodies on a game show. Watch the remaining “X Factor” finalists explain what makes their show so unique. Variety Because of the format (which includes groups, boys, girls and over 30’s), so far this season we’ve seen rappers, country groups, pop stars, boy bands, R&B crooners and hip-hop/soul hybrids on “Factor.” Quality While “Idol” has struggled over the past few seasons to launch a bona fide star and has frequently been saddled with top 12 groupings larded with substandard singers, almost without exception, the acts that made it to the live shows on “Factor” had some legitimate commercial potential. From such eliminated groups as New Jack revivalists Stereo Hogzz to manufactured country act Lakoda Rayne and soul singer LeRoy Bell, even the early castoffs from “Factor” have a legitimate shot at making it in the industry. Add in such easily packaged finalists as cutie diva Rachel Crow, next Chris Brown-type Marcus Canty, power vocalist Melanie Amaro and hip-hop tween Astro and you have a top seven silly with possible future stars. And I’ll put former-addict rapper/crooner Chris Rene up against Lee DeWyze any day. Judges As much as we hate to love him, Cowell really is the best at this, and his banter with a more subdued Abdul was missed. Add into the mix opinionated, no-BS veteran music man L.A. Reid and weepy ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and you have a panel that is fun to watch and quick to scrap. With each judge competing against each other as well, you also get some seemingly legitimate sniping and griping among them that adds more drama to the show. And who can forget Abdul’s painfully long on-air near breakdown when pressed by annoying host to Steve Jones to choose between two of her groups during week three? Drama With all of that going on, producers have also ceaselessly hammered the rich backstories of the contestants, from fresh-out-of-rehab young dad Chris Rene and shockingly overconfident Brooklyn teen MC Astro to formerly homeless soul rocker Dexter Haygood and scrappy 13-year-old Crow. The white-knuckle moments each week when the judges are forced to potentially toss one of their own overboard — not to mention back-to-back double-elimination episodes — amps up the drama even more. “It shows people’s lives, it shows who they are … it shows what they’re about, what they represent,” finalist Rene told MTV News. “It doesn’t just show an artist or a singer. They go into your life and they’re like, ‘So who are you? What are you about? What do you do?’ … If I wasn’t me, and I was watching the show and I’d seen all the stuffs that’s going on with all the different contestants, I would be like, ‘Wow this is crazy! What’s going on here? What is this? Did they set this up? Like, is this real?’ ” Have you been watching “X Factor”? Share your thoughts in the comments below! The 2012 Grammy Nominees Revealed … Possibly

Adele, Kanye West and more Grammy guesses, in Bigger Than the Sound. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: Getty Images On Wednesday night (November 30), CBS will officially kick off the self-congratulatory season with “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!,” an emphatically titled extravaganza that not only features performances from some of music’s biggest stars (Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Usher, etc.), but also boosts the network’s burgeoning LL Cool J branch by something like 20 percent, since he’s taking leave from “NCIS” duties to host the telecast. Oh, and as the title implies, they’ll also be unveiling a handful of Grammy nominees too, which means that, once again, it’s time for me to blindly speculate on who will get the nods. After all, it was less than 10 months ago that acts like the Arcade Fire and Esperanza Spalding shocked the world — or at least Steve Stoute — by taking home half of the so-called “Big Four” Grammys, victories that seemed out of place in just about every conceivable way, especially when you realize Taylor Swift, Beyonc
