MTV airs the Video Music Awards tonight at 8 p.m. EST. But Adam Levine won’t be tuning in. The Maroon 5 frontman and judge on The Voice let his feelings be known about the network in a Tweet last night, writing: “The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. F–k you, VMAs.” Adam Levine is going after MTV and American Idol these days. Who will be next?!? The singer and his band won a VMA trophy in 2004, but they are not nominated in any category this year. Levine may not be tuning in to watch Lady Gaga open the ceremony tonight, but THG will be! More information has come out regarding the suicide of Russell Armstrong, including a chilling statement he allegedly made to his mother not long before hanging himself on Monday night. In an interview on HLN, Russell’s mother, John Ann Hotchkiss, tells host Jane Velez-Mitchell that her son confided in her just a couple weeks ago. Referring to his financial difficulties and allegations of abuse against his wife – all of which would be featured this fall on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – Armstrong said: Mom, they’re just going to crucify me this season… I don’t know what to do. I’ll never survive it. John Ann Hotchkiss on HLN Elsewhere: In an interview with ABC News, Ronald Richards, Armstrong’s lawyer, said the show’s focus on a lavish lifestyle plunged Armstrong into debt. “These couples join these shows, and then they keep trying to outdo each other and they end up spending all their money trying to sustain a lifestyle that’s unrealistic and wasn’t there prior to the show. The weekly social events, the dinners and all the BS, trying to pretend you have unlimited resources in Beverly Hills is tough.” As for facts/tidbits related to the tragedy, a rundown of the latest: According to the coroner, Russell was dead for at least 24 hours when his body was found. There are rumors that Russell beat Taylor Armstrong as recently as a month ago. She was supposedly hospitalized as a result. Taylor Armstrong could be responsible for her husband’s debts. Bravo will NOT air Russell’s funeral. It’s a mess at the network. What do you think should be done about season two?
Leah Messer was heartbroken when she and Corey Simms divorced. Imagine how the Teen Mom star feels about the father of her young twins trying to get in co-star Jenelle Evans’ pants? To say nothing of how stupid it is for his own physical and mental well-being, that’s just a harsh move by Corey! Insiders say he’s “hitting Leah where it hurts the most” by trying to get his freak on with Jenelle, who, to her credit, reportedly wasn’t having that. “She was shocked he would hit on her, and she immediately told Leah,” a source close to Leah reveals, but Corey wasn’t about to stop just yet. After Jenelle Evans ’ rejection, Corey tried to get with 16 and Pregnant star Nikkole Paulun. Sources say he was more successful this time around, too. “They’re hooking up,” reveals a source . While other Teen Moms are blasting Nikkole and Corey on Twitter, Leah Messer is trying to stay above it all. “Corey and I have two kids to raise,” she tweeted. “We have to get along for our children.” Even so, the source says Leah can’t help but be upset: “She was livid when she discovered that Corey took their twins to the zoo with Nikkole.” The guy also reportedly got Amber Scaggs pregnant in the brief time he and Leah have been apart, though that rumor has not been confirmed. Short story? It’s ugly for Leah.
It’s one thing to experience it, but then to watch it again on television and know that millions of other people are watching, it’s going to be tough. So said Taylor Armstrong last week about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, a quote that referred to the focus of season two on her crumbling marriage to Russell Armstrong. Now, following his sudden, tragic death , Bravo is left to wonder: Should the show go on? The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2 Trailer The season premiere is scheduled for September 5, but Andy Cohen – Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development and host of Watch What Happens Live – admits he isn’t sure what the network will do: “We’re all still trying to process [the] very sad news, and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production… we’ll let you know what we decide when we do. In the meantime, we’re sending our thoughts and prayers to Taylor and the rest of Russell’s family.” Might Bravo actually axe the season? We doubt it. Edit out inappropriate scenes? Air everything as filmed? What SHOULD it do? You tell us:

Affion Crockett may enjoy Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch The Throne , but he’s been more focused on trying to occupy it as comedy’s new king. The Fayetteville, N.C. native has taken his experiences literally “Wild ‘n Out” with Nick Cannon and on Youtube to plant his has flag on network TV. “I got started as a kid doing voices of what I saw on TV,” says the actor and writer who has roles in Dance Flick , Soul Men and Universal Remote in his resume. “Fast way forward to Wild ‘n Out and people know me as the dude that does the killer Jay-Z impersonation. When MTV did Short Circuits we tapped ‘em with sketch comedy but we didn’t go all the way. When the MTV situation was over I went to Youtube and started producing all of them on line.” With the internet providing an ideal testing ground for his ideas, Affion had free reign to fill a void in comedy. Almost overnight he established an allegiance of followers. “When I did the videos online they caught on really fast, especially the hip-hop parodies, he says of the classic impressions of Jay-Z, Ludacris and Lil Wayne. “So 40 million views later I got with my boy Carl Jones, he’s a producer on The Boondocks. He and I went to HS together in North Carolina. He came to me and said we should do a sketch show. So we compiled a reel of all the stuff from Youtube and took it to Fox. They said we want it, we’re with it. Let’s go.” “In The Flow” premieres this Sunday August 14th on Fox and Affion came to TheUrbandaily offices to give us five reasons that we all should tune in. 1) The Comedic Family Tree “ In The Flow is the nephew to “In Living Color.” I’ve studied the Wayans’, I’ve worked with them. They’ve given me the stamp on my back to say that I’m the next generation of sketch comedy. I wear that proudly. If you saw me on Wildin’ Out with Nick Cannon it’s that same Hip-Hop based energy that’s appealing to everybody. I come out live in front of the audience and do a sketch, then do the pre-tape stuff where I transform into all of these people. It’s crazy. “ 2) Only Black show on Network TV “This is the only Black show on network TV. It’s a sad statistic but I take on the responsibility with full confidence. If that’s where God wanted me to be at this time to break doors back down to come back to network TV I feel no pressure at all because I know I can make people laugh. We crafted this show to make people laugh. I’m ready. Bring it on.” 3) No Disrespect “Drake, Jay-Z and Russell love the impressions I do [of them]. 99% of the time the response is positive. I try not to be disrespectful. I keep it funny but respectful.” 4) Nothing Forced “I latch on to either how popular the person is at the moment, how relevant they are to pop culture, and if I can nail the impression. If I can’t nail an impression I won’t do it.” 5) Comedy In The Raw “There were some compromises throughout the taping but 90% of this show is just me going in. Where else are you going to find that raw comedy on TV? Even SNL, as great as they can be at times, they’re reading off of cue cards. It’s not spontaneous. They don’t give themselves room to be spontaneous. I’m a fan of SNL, but this is my moment to show my brand of comedy. That’s why it’s called “In The Flow.” It’s freestyle, it’s comedy in the moment. We definitely have some structure and scripts but for the most part you just gonna see me wile’ out.” “In The Flow” premieres on August 14th on Fox. Check your local listings for times! Brandon Marshall is an immensely talented wide receiver whose personal life and off-the-field antics have often drawn more attention that his touchdown grabs or third down conversions. But now we know why: the All-Pro sat for 30 minutes with reporters after practice yesterday and said he was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder earlier this year. “For so long, I’ve been just trying to get help. I’ve been seeking help,” Marshall said. “I’ve been talking with doctors since I’ve been in the NFL. No one has ever helped me. So I was praying there was a treatment out there for what I suffered from and there was.” Said Mary Zanarini – the professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School who treated Marshall this summer – to The South Florida Sun- Sentinel : “BPD is a well understood psychological disorder. It’s not a form of misbehavior.” Marshall said he plans to lobby Congress for funds to assist research into the disease, adding: “There comes a time in a guy like myself’s life, with everything that I’ve been through, that you become bulletproof to the critics and to what the world thinks of you. Right now, today, I am vulnerable. I am making myself vulnerable. And I want it to be clear that this is the opposite of damage control. The only reason why I’m standing here today is to use my story to help others who may suffer from what I suffer from.” Most importantly, how should this admission affect Marshall’s status in your fantasy football draft? It’s not nearly as troublesome as the fact that Chad Henne is his quarterback. He probably shouldn’t be higher than your second wide receiver, at best. [Photo: WENN.com]
People can soon stop asking ” Where is Casey Anthony ?” The acquitted murder suspect went into hiding after her July 17 release, with people speculation that she was everywhere from California to the Bahamas. Thanks to a judge’s order, however, Anthony soon will return to her native Orlando, Fla., within the next three days to report to a local probation office. Orange County Judge Stan Strickland signed court documents requiring Anthony to serve a year of supervised probation on her check fraud charges. “She should report to probation, probably within 72 hours,” Strickland said . Last year, Srickland sentenced Anthony – then awaiting trial for murder – on charges that she stole a friend’s checkbook and forged several checks. Last week, he said he intended for Anthony to go to supervised probation upon her release. Department of Corrections officials misinterpreted that order. Believing that Casey Anthony had served her probation while in jail, her lawyers did not have her report to probation. That’s what she must do this week. It is unclear where Anthony will stay when she returns to Orlando, but you can bet there will be police officers protecting her at every turn. Anthony, who has received myriad threats since she got out of jail, where she spent nearly 1,000 days since 2008, has said through her legal team that she will be undergoing major mental health treatment .
