Kenya Moore: It’ll Be Weeks Before I Walk Again After C-Section

Just days ago, Kenya Moore welcomed her first child with husband Marc Daly. It was a difficult, premature birth brought on by pregnancy complications. Now, Kenya is opening up about her recovery, and the differences between real life and reality television. “#realVsReality,” Kenya tagged her video, pointing at how real life and reality television are very different. “#brooklyndaly came early,” she reminds her fans and followers of her newborn daughter. “And the reality is,” Kenya continues. “It will take weeks for me to be able to walk without the excruciating pain of a C section.” “And,” she says, it will takes weeks for her “to heal from the multiple cuts to my uterus.” C-sections are no joke, folks. But that didn’t stop Kenya from taking a motorized scooter on a tour of Target. “Needed to get her some preemie items,” Kenya shares. “So of course,” Kenya continues. “Off to @target we went.” “My aunt Lisa is so afraid!” she admits. Kenya then confesses: “I’m supposed to be in bed.” The idea of going shopping just a few days after giving birth in any fashion is … a little alarming. (Yes, some people gave birth and then went to go vote just hours later, but they are the exception, not the rule) After a C-section, Kenya should be at home, being catered to and focusing on healing. In April, Kenya revealed that she and Marc Daly were expecting their first child. Six months later, on Halloween, Kenya revealed that there were complications with her pregnancy. Kenya was diagnosed with preeclamsia, the three main symptoms of which are high blood pressure, swelling of hands and feet, and protein in urine. Out of concern over this dangerous pregnancy condition, doctors and Kenya decided upon a C-section. Her baby, Brooklyn Doris Daly, was removed from her uterus by skilled surgeons. Brooklyn is considered premature, and weighs just 5 pounds and 12 ounces. Despite her preemie status, Brooklyn is said to be alert and after. Kenya explained how she and Marc chose their firstborn’s name. “Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love,” Kenya said. “And Doris,” she continued. “After my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me.” Daly , of course, comes from the last name of her husband, Marc Daly. Kenya Moore is not old in real life. She is 47 years old. In terms of safely becoming pregnant, staying pregnant, and carrying a child to term, she is definitely within the upper extremes of age. (That’s by the standards of the medical community — we’re not age-shaming her) We’re sure that Kenya and Marc are so grateful that they were able to come through this pregnancy with both mother and baby alive and healthy. Last year, they married each other. Now, just a year and a half later, they’re growing their family. In all honesty, the trip to Target less than a week after a C-section sounds a little … far-fetched. Target is a great place as far as liminal spaces are concerned, but Kenya going herself is odd. We’re sure that Atlanta has delivery options (we don’t have to guess; we looked it up). Also, Kenya has family and a husband who could have gone. Either Kenya is just really specific about what she wants her baby to have and couldn’t wait a week … … Or maybe this was an endorsement deal and she’s doing it for the cash. Meghan Markle Accused of Making "Worst Curtsy" in Recorded History

Meghan Markle played a lawyer on the USA Network hit drama Suits. But criticism continues to pour in regarding the Duchess of Sussex, most notably that she simply cannot play the role of a Royal with the proper respect it deserves. Over the past several weeks, sources have come down hard on Markle for snubbing various Palace traditions , typically ones associated with fashion and decorum. And now it seems as if certain people are also taking issue with the way Markle is acting overseas. The expecting mother and Prince Harry have mostly been receiving rave reviews for their behavior on their ongoing tour — but Markle is coming under fire at the moment for how she greeted Tonga’s King Tupou VI and his wife Queen Nanasipau’u last week. Specifically, how weakly sue curtsied on front of the powerful couple. Here is a still shot of the bow in question: Did Markle get down low enough? Did she hold her form for long enough? Did her facial expression make it clear she just wasn’t that into the gesture? All of the above, Twitter users appear to be saying. Here is a sampling of their most harsh responses to Markle’s lame curtsy: Those were the two worst curtsies I think I’ve ever seen! I wonder if maybe she wasn’t sure if she should curtsy? Either way, you gotta commit. I saw this video on Instagram. Gives the impression she did not know if she should curtsy or not. That seems plausible, right? It can be tricky to remember all the customs of various nations, especially for someone not raised in such an environment. In case you somehow haven’t heard, Markle is pregnant . So it’s also possible that she only gently curtsied in order to protect her fetus. We really can’t say for certain at the moment. However, a so-called etiquette expert named William Hanson told The Daily Mail that Markle has a lot to learn about how a Royal should act overall. He says she sticks her hands into her pockets on far too many occasions. “We know that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pioneering a new, relaxed, tactile branch of monarchy, but having hands in the pocket is a step too far,” this random critic says, adding: “There is good casual and there is bad casual. “Placing a hands in the pocket is too relaxed and unprofessional.” Markle, of course, is no stranger to criticism. Just ask her awful half-sister . We doubt she’ll respond to the backlash she is garnering here, especially because Hanson admits that her actions aren’t actually a big deal. Not in the grand scheme of life, that is. “Will the world end? No,” he concludes to The Mail. “It is just a small blip in Meghan’s usually delightful manners that can be easily corrected for future engagements.” PHEW . This Youtuber Is In The News For Tipping His Waitress $10K, Here’s 5 Other Times He’s Given Away Insane Amounts Of Cash

Continue reading here:

Source: Design Pics / SW Productions / Getty Headlines about a man who ordered only water at a restaurant and tipped $10,000 have been all over the place this week–but there’s a lot more to the story than most are aware of. An East Carolina University Student by the name of Alaina was working her shift at Sup Dogs in Greenville, North Carolina when a customer came in and only ordered two waters. Once he departed, he left a note saying, “thanks for the delicious water,” along with an extremely generous $10,000 tip. Seems unbelievable, especially to the lucky waitress at the receiving end of the cash. She told the News Observer,  “I literally didn’t think it was real. I picked it up and it was a giant stack of hundreds, I was shaking and just kept asking, ‘What is this?’ I thought someone was playing a joke on me.” But the money was very real and not at all a joke. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But as it turns out, this good deed wasn’t just a one-off by some wealthy do-gooder, this was none other than  Mr. Beast . The Youtuber, whose real name is  Jimmy Donaldson , is known for his elaborate videos–many of which involve him giving away large sums of money to different groups of people like waitresses, pizza delivery guys, and the homeless. Though this wasn’t the first time Donaldson had given away huge wads of cash to some deserving servers, it was the most he’s ever given to one lone waitress. While most Youtubers take their sponsorships to either pay their own bills or buy supplies for videos, Mr. Beast commonly gets sponsored by different companies just to give the money away to strangers–and a lot of times, he ends up pitching in his own money too. If you’ve never seen one of his videos, be prepared to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Check out these five others times Mr. Beast blessed the people in his community, giving out hundreds of thousands of dollars.   I Tipped Waitresses $20,000 As I mentioned before, this recent $10,000 tip wasn’t the first time Jimmy blessed some waitresses–but in this previous instance, he made a lot more than just one person’s day.

Netflix Cancels “Luke Cage” Bad news for Marvel fans who were feeling the Harlem vibes of Netlix’s Luke Cage . After only two seasons on the streaming service, the powers that be have decided to pull the plug on the hit hero show. The series faced the same fate as Marvel sister show Iron Fist , whose cancellation was announced just days earlier. Meghan Markle Says She Has a "Long List" of Baby Names and the Internet Can Barely Handle It

Meghan Markle has just given the universe another reason to get excited. Days after the Duchess of Sussex and her handsome husband confirmed the amazing news that they’re expecting a child , Markle touched on the follow-up topic that has taken over social media. What will she and Harry name their impending bundle of joy? Will he or she receive a typically British or Royal moniker? Might the little one be named after a character on Suits, the USA Network legal drama that propeled Markle to fame? Could she and Harry surprise followers and go way outside the box somehow? During a top in Melbourne, Australia – for the third day of activities on the couple’s royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga – Markle addressed this pressing issue. When a 12-year-old named Charlie Wolf asked the Duchess if she’d picked out a name for the couple’s baby-to-be, Meghan did not come right out and reveal her and Harry’s decision. But she did say it’s a constant topic of conversation. Both between herself and her husband… and basically everyone else in the free world. “We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone,” Markle replied. We’re going to sit down and have a look at them.” She further noted that it was still very early and they hadn’t settled on anything. That’s fair, we suppose. Sources have claimed that Markle is not due to give birth until early May . She’s about 15 weeks along and doing “well,” these same sources have told the press. At a different point during this visit, the Suits alum opened up about how she spends her free time “relaxing and watching TV shows.” But when pressed for a favorite series, the retired actress noted demurred, simply responding: “There’s heaps, I can’t think of a specific one.” She’ll have plenty of time in the near future to sort through them all, too, once she gets a little too tired to travel and just props her feet up, awaiting the whole motherhood thing. “Harry is elated and beside himself,” a an tells Us Weekly. “Meghan is feeling amazing. She’s in great health so far.” Kate Middleton and Prince William, meanwhile, are on record as sayign they are “delighted” about the pregnancy, while even Meghan’s evil half-sister sounds pretty psyched about it. “I want Meghan to be happy… and have peace. Everybody needs to be positive,” says typically-negative Samantha Markle , adding: “I hope my dad is included and at a proper time. If he is excluded, I won’t be happy. It is in the best interests of the baby for my dad to be included.” We continue to send our best wishes to Harry and Meghan. This is all SO exciting! Paul Allen’s Relationship With Black America, Explained

A s the nation mourned the passing of Microsoft co-founder and NFL and NBA franchise owner Paul Allen , family, friends and fans were sharing memories of his life, including his relationships with African-Americans. Allen, who died from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Seattle on Monday afternoon, was 65 years old. Known for his work to innovate technology and with Vulcan, his network of philanthropic organizations and efforts, the billionaire philanthropist was also the owner of the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and NBA’s Portland Trailblazers. Because of the two sports teams, Allen had many interactions with African-American athletes, including Colin Kaepernick , whose case accusing NFL ownership of colluding to keep him from playing has moved forward in court. Allen gave $100,000 to the GOP last month in order to help Republicans keep their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. His donation drew criticism from activists who pointed out that the NFL doesn’t support Black communities enough even though African-American players make up the league’s majority. Activists had asked the league to start depositing funds into Black-owned banks, as well. Aside from the sports world, Microsoft co-founder had also been credited with making contributions to some organizations supporting people of color, including  Adelante Mujeres , a grassroots organization that works to educate and empower Latina women and their families. He had also pledged to donate $100 million to fight Ebola , a disease that has ravaged the Black populations in West Africa. Allen also was applauded for investing in cultural institutions in Seattle and revitalizing parts of the city . However, some social media users emphasized that the major developments had opened the door for gentrifying Seattle, a practice known as a factor in driving African Americans out of certain neighborhoods. Allen never married and had no children.
