Lauren Swanson: Proof of Pregnancy Posted on Instagram?

It’s been just over two months since Lauren Swanson married Josiah Duggar in one of those massive Duggar ceremonies attended by the entire state of Arkansas. Obviously, Josiah and Lauren are still very much in the newlywed stage, but they’re also Duggars, which means the whole world is already wondering why they haven’t started a family. Yes, rumors that Lauren is pregnant with Josiah’s baby began almost immediately after these two tied the knot. Thus far there’s been nothing in the way of compelling evidence to support those claims, so Duggar fans went digging to find some of their own. And apparently, they’ve already gotten pretty desperate in their search. Josiah posted the photo below to Instagram this week, and some Duggar obsessives think there’s more going on here than meets the eye. See the way Lauren is sidled up close to Josiah? According to a coterie of imaginative conspiracy theorists, that’s not because they’re in love, and it’s certainly not because they feel the need to make up for lost time after being denied all forms of physical contact with one another for the first six months of their relationship. No, these folks believe Lauren is concealing a burgeoning baby bump. As far as we can tell, this pic alone is the source of all the Lauren pregnancy rumors circulating on social media at the moment. Look, we’re not saying that she’s definitively not pregnant — the girl is a Duggar now, after all. But we are saying the folks who are pointing to this pic as proof are really, really reaching. To us, what’s far more interesting than the image itself is Josiah’s choice of caption. “Can’t believe it’s almost been 2 months since I married my best friend!!! -Lauren #2monthiversary #marriageisthebest #amazonoutfit,” he wrote. There’s a lot to unpack here. For one, dude just quoted his wife calling him her best friend. That’s some next-level insecurity, and we’re beginning to grow concerned that Josiah’s male-pattern baldness is affecting his self-esteem. On top of that what the hell is “#amazonoutfit”? Is he saying he and Lauren bought their clothes on Amazon? Is shopping online, like, something Duggars are only allowed to do once they’re married?! Forget pregnancy rumors, we may have just uncovered something far more bizarre and interesting. View Slideshow: Josiah Duggar & Lauren Swanson Relive Their Whirlwind Courtship on Counting On!

Why Lupus Is an Urgent Matter To Black People

Source: skynesher / Getty “Lupus is not some distant disease,”  Gabrielle Davis , founder of  Lupus Sistas , tells Black Health Matters just days before the Black Health Matters Summit. In fact, lupus is an urgent matter. “It is rampant in the black community. It is having devastating effects on women, specifically black women.” It is with this same passion that Davis, a lupus sufferer and advocate, addresses the crowd at Riverside Church in Harlem, New York. “Nine years ago, my life changed,” she says. “I was young, slim, cute. I was a newlywed. It was my first Valentine’s Day as a married woman. She goes on to explain how she was having pain that day, but she passed it off as stress. So she booked a massage, which only exacerbated the problem. “By the time I got off the table, I could barely walk,” she says. “We couldn’t do Valentine’s Day; we had to go to the ER.” The doctors said Davis’ white blood cell count was out of whack and she was severely dehydrated, but they had no idea what was wrong with the newlywed. Though her primary care physician caught on that Davis was suffering from an autoimmune-related disease, she didn’t see a rheumatologist until three or four months later. That’s when she learned she had lupus. Lupus comes in three main forms: Systemic lupus erythematosus is the most common form of the disease, and it involves the entire body. Cutaneous lupus causes a rash and lesions on the skin. Drug-induced lupus, which occurs when a doctor prescribes a medicine that causes lupus symptoms, usually goes away when the medication is stopped. Davis was diagnosed with SLE. “It was a devastating diagnosis,” she reveals. “And one I didn’t take as seriously as I should.” She takes prednisone, which has given her a moon face. She also suffers from joint problems, especially if it’s really cold or damp and humid. She jokes about buying stock in Aspercreme. And she has experienced hair loss. The fatigue that marks the disease has most severely cramped her lifestyle. “It’s the symptom that bothers us the most,” she says. “It stops us dead in our tracks. There were times it was truly a stretch to get up off the couch.” But perhaps her biggest lupus challenge came about a year after her initial diagnosis. “In 2010, I was diagnosed with kidney disease,” she says. At first she was able to manage the additional health threat, but by 2016, her kidney function had dipped to 4 percent. Her doctors said it was time to think about dialysis. She wanted to handle the new diagnosis with exercise and diet. “I said, ‘Let me get my green smoothie on,’ but sometimes we have to take the medicine, and my medicine was dialysis,” she says. Davis pulls up her shirt to reveal her catheter. “I do nine hours of dialysis with my boyfriend, Baxter,” she says jokingly. Then, serious, again, she adds: “This is my lifeline now.” Davis’ mission isn’t only to share her own story, though her real-world examples of how lupus has affected her are an engaging way to grab an audience’s attention. “I’m just one of many people living with lupus today. I’m able to hold down a full-time job still. Some can’t,” she says. Her bigger goal is to spread lupus awareness. And so she shares these facts: Nine out of 10 lupus patients are women. 40 percent to 50 percent of sufferers will have organ involvement. 1.5 million people in the United States are living with this disease. But that’s a conservative estimate, she explains. “Lupus isn’t tracked well and doesn’t appear on your death certificate.” Black women  are two to three times more likely to be diagnosed than white women; men are diagnosed less often, but they tend to have more severe symptoms. That Was Fast: Columbus Short Set Free From Jail After Serving Only 34 Days Of One-Year Domestic Violence Sentence

Columbus Short Released From Jail 11 Months Early Columbus Short is a free man this week, after completing just a twelfth of his jail sentence. If you’ll recall, Columbus pled no contest to charges that he hit his newlywed fourth wife, Aida Abramyan, during an argument. The actor was sentenced to 36 months probation and domestic violence education. However, since he was already on probation for a 2014 violent encounter in a bar, resulting in him knocking a man out, so he was instead sentenced to a year in jail for violating his probation. Well, according to TMZ , Columbus can thank jail overcrowding for his freedom. He was reportedly released on Monday from the L.A. County Jail, after serving only 34 days of his sentence. We guess it’s just as well, since his wife denies that anything violent ever happened between them. The media needs to check their facts!!…Columbus and I have a great marriage. Period. The media is ridiculous for posting this bs. I love my hubby and will continue to support him. @ColumbusShort1 — Aida Short (@Aida006) March 3, 2018 Getty/Twitter/Instagram

Chuck Barris Dies; Legendary Game Show Host Was 87

Chuck Barris, the host and creator of The Gong Show, died Tuesday of natural causes at his home in Palisades, New York. He was 87 years old. The sad news has been confirmed by Barris’ publicist, Paul Shefrin. Barris made game show history in 1966 when he came up with the idea for The Dating Game, which was hosted by Jim Lange and which is still mentioned or parodied today on shows such as Saturday Night Live. The gimmick behind this show was simple: A young female (or male) contestant questioned three suitors of the opposite gender, each of whom was hidden from her view, in order to determine which would be the most ideal date. In nearly every case, the questions were designed by the show’s writers to elicit sexy/seductive/revealing answers. Such stars (or future stars) who appeared as guests included: Michael Jackson Arnold Schwarzenegger Steve Martin Farrah Fawcett, who was introduced as “an accomplished artist and sculptress” because she appeared prior to her big acting break in Charlie’s Angels. The game show quickly became a sensation on daytime and primetime television, leading to the creation of The Newlywed Game, The Parent Game, The Family Game and even The Game Game. At one point, Barris was responsible to television networks for 27 hours of entertainment a week, mostly in five-days-a-week daytime game shows. Game Show Network still airs a episodes of The Newlywed Game, which aired for 19 years. Between 1976 and 1980, Barris hosted The Gong Show himself, a talent competition that featured various acts (think America’s Got Talent) on stage and a panel of judges. If a judge did not like a certain act, he or she could ring a giant gong and the contestant on stage would be given the boot. In 1984, the native of Philadelphia wrote an autobiography titled “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: An Unauthorized Biography.” It chronicled his alleged double life as a CIA assassin and was made into a 2002 movie that starred Sam Rockwell and which marked the directorial debut of George Clooney. Many believes that Barris had made this claim up, however. “It sounds like he has been standing too close to the gong all those years,” said CIA spokesman Tom Crispell, adding: “Chuck Barris has never been employed by the CIA and the allegation that he was a hired assassin is absurd.” Criticized by some throughout his professional run as “The Baron of Bad Taste,” Barris did well for himself in the end: he sold his company for $100 million in 1980. On the personal front, Barris’s first marriage, to Lynn Levy, ended in divorce. Their daughter, Della, tragically died of a drug overdose in 1998. He married his third wife, Mary, in 2000. Jill & Jessa Duggar: Spotted in Public For First Time Since Abuse Scandal

Jill and Jessa Duggar confirmed that they were molested by Josh Duggar in a candid interview with Megyn Kelly earlier this month, but other than that, the fan-favorite sisters have avoided the spotlight as much as possible in recent weeks. Jessa thanked fans for their support and offered an update on her pregnancy this week, but with the exception of the Kelly interview, she and her family have refused to speak to the press and have remained uncharacteristically quiet on social media. So it's not surprising that when Jessa, Jill and their husbands were spotted walking through the Akron, OH airport last night, a lone paparazzi tried his best to get the girls to open about how their lives have changed in the wake of the Josh Duggar sexual abuse scandal .  Unfortunately for the persistent pap, the newlywed sisters and their shell-shocked husbands remembered their media training and kept mum.  Check out the clip above to see Jill and Jessa handle the unwanted attention like a pair of seasoned pros.
