Biggie’s Mom Has Lil’ Kim Removed From Monica Single

Newlywed R&B star Monica has found herself in the middle of a family feud. The ATL  singer recently collaborated with Rick Ross, Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim for the single, “Anything.” The song samples David Porter’s “I’m Afraid the Masquerade Is Over” used for the Notorious B.I.G’s classic “Who Shot Ya?” and the Queen Bee cribs a few lines from the Biggie hit in her verse. (Listen below) According to Monica’s twitter account Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace has stopped the single from being released because Lil’ Kim appears on the song. As custodian of Biggie’s estate, Ms. Wallace approves any samples of her late son’s music. “I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She’s our friend, a legend,” Monica wrote. “Lil Kim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked and I’m fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate.” Ms. Wallace and Lil’ Kim have been engaged in a very public feud over the past few years, most recently over Kim’s portrayal in the biopic Notorious . Based on Monica’s tweets, the song would not be cleared unless Lil’ Kim’s vocals were removed. Despite her displeasure, Monica maintained her respect for Ms. Wallace and did not take sides, insisting that she “respects all parties involved” and hopes to have the song reinstated with Lil’ Kim featured. Lil’ Kim has taken the high road thus far simply writing, “I want ya’ll to know that Missy Elliot and Monica Brown have been going hard a s mothaf*cka for this situation. I love them so much! Looks like the drama or rumors just won’t stop over this Nicki Minaj and Scaff Beezy incident. According to a Young Money insider, Scaff Beezy was beat unconscious by Young Money goons. Word is, Beezy was paid a visit at his hotel room last night in Houston where he was stomped out, supposedly in retaliation for the swollen lip “non-incident” reported by TMZ. Sources say Beezy — whose also rumored to be dating Nicki — is currently recuperating in his hotel room. Atlanta Schools Replace 4 Superintendents In Scandal Fallout [VIDEO]

The fallout from the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal continues. Interim Superintendent Erroll Davis has replaced four area superintendents with principals and former school board chairman Khaatim Sherrer El announced his resignation in the continuing fallout from the scandal that has turned the nation’s attention on Atlanta. El fought back tears in an emotional address to the school board announcing his resignation, reports the AJC . He has accepted a new position as chief of staff for the Foundation for Newark’s Future in Newark, N.J. El was one of the first on the board last year to question whether the Atlanta Public Schools was doing enough to respond to cheating allegations. The four removed from area superintendent positions — Sharon Davis-Williams, Michael Pitts, Robin Hall and Tamara Cotman — were implicated in the scandal. Read the full story at the AJC. Monica and her Laker hubby, Shannon Brown, tied the knot for the second time over the weekend and held the ceremony in Los Angeles. Monica, 35, and Shannon, 25 originally married last fall in a small, private ceremony but this time, they decided to do it big and wed in front of hundreds of their closest friends and family. Among the attendees of the wedding included Ciara, Nelly, Ashanti, Lala and Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and Derek Fisher. Jermaine Dupri provided the tunes for the night. Monica wore a Stephane Rolland gown for the ceremony while the Atlanta singer’s sons, Rocko and Romelo, arrived to the ceremony by horse and carriage!
