Snooki On Her Arrest: ‘I’m Too Pretty To Be In Jail’

‘I’m not a criminal, and I will never go back there,’ the ‘Jersey Shore’ star says of her jail stay. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Audrey Kim Snooki Photo: MTV News As far as welcome-back parties go, it left a little to be desired. Not long after the “Jersey Shore” crew returned to Seaside Heights following their second-season shoot in Miami, poof-haired reality star Snooki was arrested for disorderly conduct on the boardwalk. Though Snickers spent a few hours in police custody and has an upcoming court date, she’s not taking the whole thing too seriously and is looking forward to a GTL-filled summer at the Shore as the second season of MTV’s show continues. “I don’t know why people are taking it so seriously,” she told MTV News on Friday evening. “I had a couple cocktails and they just put me in a drunk tank to sober me up. I was on the beach. It happens to the best of us, and I’m not planning on going back to jail ever again. I was a public nuisance — big deal!” The disorderly conduct charge carries a potential fine of between $250 and $1,000, but Snooki will not face any jail time . That’s a good thing, clearly, because one place the 22-year-old does not want to be is behind bars. “I’m too pretty to be in jail,” Snooki said. “I’m a good person. I’m not a criminal, and I will never go back there.” “You can’t even contain me,” she added with a laugh. “When I was in there, I was like, ‘Can I come out? I can’t breathe!’ Not a fun place. I will never go back.” What do you think of Snooki’s comments about going to jail? Let us know below! Watch “Jersey Shore” Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. Fat Joe Calls Sexual-Assault Allegations ‘Shocking’

‘It’s one of the worst things you could have your name affiliated with,’ MC says of allegations. By Shaheem Reid Fat Joe Photo: MTV News Fat Joe said that when he was accused of sexual assault , it was one of the “ugliest” things anyone could have said about him. Last month, Joe and members of his crew were questioned by police after a woman claimed to be inappropriately touched while in Joe’s limo in Madison, Wisconsin. A spokesperson for the Madison police confirmed to MTV News on Friday (July 9) that the complaint against Joe has been withdrawn. “What happens is, you know its ugly,” Joe told MTV News earlier this week. “It’s one of the worst things you could have your name affiliated with. There was a young lady and she was talking to my man. But I never even said hello to the girl. Nothing. Next thing I know, cops was knocking on my [hotel] door.” Joe says he was astonished when he learned of the allegations. “I was like, ‘This is shocking to me,’ ” he recalled. “It was an ugly case. The girl said somebody fondled her. I was like, ‘This is like magic, ’cause I don’t know what y’all talking about.’ I got back [to New York], it was a rumor, ‘Oh, he talked to cops.’ That’s ugly. But I know it would be cleared. It got cleared the next day. It’s disgusting to get your name dragged through the mud for something like that. I didn’t even say hello. I had no contact with this person. It was crazy.” Joe added that no one in his circle questioned his innocence. “They already knew. The texts I was getting, the people was like, ‘Yo, my man. We know better than this.’ I didn’t have nobody like, ‘Really?’ ” Related Artists Fat Joe

Owl City’s Adam Young Calls Sky Sailing Project ‘A Dream Come True’

‘I can’t tell you what it means for people to want to hear the Sky Sailing songs,’ Young tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Owl City Photo: Universal Republic Adam Young never dreamed people would want to hear the songs he made under his Owl City moniker, let alone the ones he made before that. And yet, thanks to the startling success of the song “Fireflies,” and Owl City’s Ocean Eyes album , he’s now getting the chance to release those early tunes — which he recorded as Sky Sailing — and, much like everything that’s happened since OC broke, he can’t really believe his luck. “Initially, these were just ideas that I had in my head that I wanted to get out,” Young told MTV News on Friday (June 18). “I had no plans other than making a MySpace page and maybe letting my friends hear [the songs]. Fortunately, Owl City took off, and they had to take a backseat. But I’m really excited to have people hear them now.” The songs collected on Sky Sailing’s An Airplane Carried Me to Bed (due July 27) were actually recorded back in summer 2007, well before Owl City became the phenomenon it is today. And now that he’s officially between OC albums, Young figured he’d revisit the songs, “re-polish them” (as he put it) and let his legions of fans have a listen. “It’s a bit ironic in terms of a timeline, because Sky Sailing took on its own form and shape before Owl City was ever conceptualized,” Young said. “A few months after I had recorded them, I started to write synth-pop songs that were different from the acoustic stuff I was doing with Sky Sailing. So it was pretty clear early on that there were going to be two avenues and two projects. I just didn’t know if this one would ever be heard.” And with Bed just around the corner, and a new Owl City record currently in pre-production, Young really can’t believe much of anything going on in his life these days, but he’s pretty happy they are. “Really, everything that’s happened, and is happening, I can’t believe it for a second. I never imagined any of my songs would have done what they’ve done,” he said. “And I can’t tell you what it means for people to want to hear the Sky Sailing songs, either. It’s a dream come true. It’s a priceless feeling.” Will you check out the upcoming Sky Sailing album? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Owl City
