We all make mistakes. Most of us don’t have our mistakes broadcast on international television. But the whole world saw Rachel Lindsay choose Bryan Abasolo . They’re still together though, and Rachel’s talking about wedding plans. But … it sounds like she might just elope. Speaking to Us Weekly , Rachel Lindsay gushed about her engagement to Bryan Abasolo and how eager she is to tie the knot. “I’m ready to be married.” Well, it would have been weird for her to go on The Bachelor and then star on The Bachelorette otherwise. “I keep saying winter wedding, which more so with the process of everything is what it’s looking like, but honestly I could elope with Bryan tomorrow.” A winter wedding sounds lovely, right? Elopement sounds … well, it probably sounds a lot easier. And apparently Rachel’s mother agrees. “And it’s so funny because my mom texted me the other day and she goes, ‘Secretly I would love for you to just elope.’” It’s hard to tell if her mother really wants that or if she’s just fatigued at the idea of this huge, expensive wedding. “The family loves him,” Rachel claims. That sounds a little different from what we saw on Hometown Dates, but … okay. “I want good music, good vibes, a lot of family and friends around, and I just want it to be a big reunion, that I know.” That sounds like what most people want for their weddings. “Someone said the other day, ‘What about having the wedding in Colombia?’ and actually that’s a thought that we’re thinking about right now.” What would be the point of a winter wedding if it’s in Columbia? But she’s a Texas girl, and perhaps doesn’t enjoy the cold. “That’s the first time I’ve said that out loud!” Usually , you want your fiance or at least your wedding planner to be the person you tell, not Carly from Us Weekly . No offense to Carly. Rachel Lindsay talks about her friends that she made within the Bachelor Nation. “They’re with me everywhere.” Awww, that’s sweet to imagine. “I’m stuck with them for life.” That … well, we’re sure that she’s joking. She goes on to gush about what it’s like to be engaged to Bryan Abasolo. “Bryan’s romantic every day.” He promised her a fairytale romance, and it sounds like he’s delivering. “He’s always giving me massages, he’s always catering to my needs to the point where I’m like, ‘Hold on. Let me do something for you.’” That sounds like it might be bordering on TMI, but it also sounds very pleasant. “Bryan’s just very sweet. Whenever I need something he’s very attentive to it, so I would say he’s romantic every single day.” She also talks about their disagreements when it comes to children: “I want four kids. Bryan wants three, but he also says it depends on how many we can afford.” We never imagined that we’d say this, but … we’re team Bryan Abasolo. “See, this is what I mean about Bryan, he’s so practical. I’m just like, ‘Give me all the babies. If we can’t have them, we’re adopting.’ So we’ll see.” Let’s see if she still wants four after a few months of infant-induced sleep deprivation. Rachel talks about some more immediate plans that she and Bryan have. “We’re spending Christmas with his family.” Bryan Abasolo has gushed in the past about how much his grandma loves Rachel Lindsay . “We’re gonna be two weeks in Miami. He spent Thanksgiving with my family, so it’s all been so seamless in how it’s all come together.” Well, if you like wasting part of winter in warm climates where the weather takes “winter” as a mere suggestion, Miami sounds lovely. As an aspiring rapper, 22-year old Spencer Sleyon has likely been involved in many rap battles. But the young New York resident has reached viral fame thanks to a different kind of battle: The one he has engaged in often via Words with Friends… with an 81-year old named Rosalind Guttman. The latter is a resident of Florida and the Internet is going bat $hit bananas over Spencer and Rosalind finally meeting face-to-face, following over 300 installments of their online Words with Friends contests. Say Hi to Roz and Spencer The 22-year oldand 81-year old started talking in earnest after Roz used the word “Phat” while playing Words with Friends, which is essentially the same as Scrabble and which enables one to do battle against folks one knows… or against total strangers. 2. A Phat Friendship “I was like, yo, how do you know that word?” Sleyon asked Roz, making the first real contact between the pair outside of the game. They soon got to talking often, while continuing to go at it on Words with Friends. 3. How Many Times Have They Played? Over 300, Spencer estimates. That’s about once every other day, starting from last summer up through this late fall. 4. Who’s Winning Overall? It’s sort of close, but Spencer does want the world to know he’s put in front at the moment. Look at those stats, though! 5. After All This Time… …. Spencer and Roz have finally met! The former touched down in Florida and, as you can see above, gave a giant hug to his online pal. 6. How Did This Happen? The meeting was up by a pastor in Manhattan who knew Spencer and learned of his unexpected friendship with Roz. “I’m all for just experiencing stuff, I was like ‘yeah,'” Sleyon said when asked if he wanted to meet Roz. “I love random occurrences, I thought it was cool I was able to befriend her.” View Slideshow
A Texas history teacher was arrested this week and charged with sexual assault with an ex-student after meeting up with him at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant. People Magazine was the first outlet to report the incident. According to court records, Michelle Schiffer has been charged with engaging in an improper relationship with a student who is now 16 years old. He was 15 at the time of the sexual encounter. Schiffer is 23. The teacher told authorities that she met the unnamed student at the aforementioned fast food restaurant before they went to a friend’s home to have sex. The student, meanwhile, told authorities that Schiffer picked him up once at a park in her car – and then the inappropriate twosome drove around the neighborhood before having sex in a parking lot. This second allegation was reported by local TV station CW39. The same network adds that Schiffer and the student had sex on multiple occasions. Schiffer teaches world history at Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, Texas. She was ordered to appear in court on Wednesday to face her charges, while a judge has set bond at $30,000. Official records indicate that Schiffer posted the amount later that day and is now a free woman. Having admitted that she also smoked marijuana with this student in the car, it’s also safe to classify her as a messed up woman. The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District has said in a statement that the 23-year old was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave once they learned of the charges. We’d have to imagine she’ll soon be fired. “We will continue to protect our students and not tolerate relationships of an inappropriate nature,” the statement reads. No word on the scandal from Chick-fil-A, although there’s no real reason for the chain to speak out. Talk about a tale of two wives… As previously reported, Matt Lauer has very few friends in light of the sexual harassment, misconduct and assault claims recently made against him. But one unexpected source of support has actually been his ex-wife, Nancy Alspaugh, who told Entertainment Tonight that she has reached out to Lauer and supports him “one hundred percent,” even adding: “He’s been the best person that’s ever held that job… “I couldn’t imagine that anything that he would have done – that would have been so out of character for him – that would have caused that reaction.” She’s referring, of course, to the reaction of NBC to allegations that Lauer acted inappropriately in the presence of at least one co-worker. Inappropriate in a sexual manner, that is, which caused the network to terminate Lauer’s contact this past Monday night. Conversely, however, Lauer’s current wife is showing her husband no such support. According to The New York Post, Annette Roque has actually fled the United States in the wake of these horrible accusations. She has allegedly taken the couple’s two youngest children – Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11 – and returned to her native Netherlands to be with family. (The couple also share a 16-year old son named Jack.) Roque and Lauer actually field for divorce over a decade ago, prior to changing their mind. There’s been talk for years that Lauer has not been loyal to his wife, as he lives at least half of the time in New York City; while she and the kids reside in Long Island. Seven months pregnant in 2006 when she filed to legally split from Lauer, Roque cited “cruel and inhumane” treatment in her official papers, mentioning Lauer’s “extremely controlling” behavior at the time. The two have since reconciled, but it’s barely even a secret that they live separate lives. “They play happy families at their Hamptons home on weekends, and then she lets him run off to New York to do Today – and goodness knows what else,” an East End source told to Radar Online in September. Hollywood, meanwhile, remains rocked by the Lauer scandal. Yes, it’s just the latest in a long line of alleged sexual misbehavior by male stars such as Kevin Spacey, Louis CK and Charlie Rose. But Lauer was the face of NBC, the highest paid employee at the network, the person who greeted millions of Americans every morning. Said News Chairman Andrew Lack in the statement that confirmed Lauer’s firing: “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident. “Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. “We are deeply saddened by this turn of events.” The embattled morning anchor has since apologized in a statement of his own, saying on Thursday: “There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry.” Since this story broke, follow-up reports have claimed Lauer dropped his pants in front of staffers, gifted them with sex toys and may have even raped one of them . Just a few days ago, we got the most wonderful news that we’d heard in a very, very long time … Jersey Shore is coming back! For real this time, too, not just for one lame special . MTV announced the big news during the series premiere of their new show, Floribama Shore, a Jersey Shore “spin-off” set down south. Or really, Snooki announced the big news in a short little teaser that aired along with the show, screaming “We’re back, bitches!” It’s enough to warm your heart and give you hope in the hopeless time, isn’t it? We don’t have too many details yet — we know the new show will be called Jersey Shore Family Vacation , and it will air sometime in 2018. Snooki — or Nicole Polizzi, as she may prefer to go by now — will be there, of course, as will her bestie, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and her fellow meatball, Deena Nicole Cortese. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino will also be going on that family vacation, along with Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and the delightful Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio. So who’s missing? You know, besides Angelina, lovingly known by her former castmates as the Staten Island Dump. You know who’s missing — Sammi Giancola. Yes, for some totally unfair reason, we’re getting new Jersey Shore in 2018, but we won’t be seeing Sammi Sweetheart. And we came so close to heaven, didn’t we? Ever since the news of Sammi’s absence broke, Jersey Shore fans everywhere have been in mourning — and they’ve also been demanding answers. Up until now, we haven’t had any real explanation for why she won’t be there with the rest of those lovable guidos and guidettes. Some sources claimed that she was working on a deal to appear on Celebrity Big Brother, but most fans assume that she just doesn’t want to film with Ronnie again after all these years. It makes sense — if you’ve seen literally any footage from the show, you know that Sammi and Ronnie had a ridiculously toxic relationship. Remember how many times they broke up and got back together, just to break up again? How many times they made each other cry? What about the time that he trashed her room after a fight? Or the time that she punched him in the face just for talking to JWoww? Ooh, ooh, how about the time that he referred to her “Fred Flinstone toe” and she lost her mind? Yeah, so Ronnie and Sammi have some history, and it would make sense if they didn’t want to be around each other after everything that’s happened between them. But is that the whole reason Sammi’s not coming back? According to Snooki, yep. On a podcast earlier this week, Snooki said “Everyone’s asking why Sammi’s not doing it. You have to ask her that, I’m not gonna speak for her.” But then she went on to say that “Sammi is just in such a happy place that I feel like she doesn’t want to jump back into that drama if it does happen.” “And being that there was a lot of Ron and Sam drama when we did film, it was just really hard on both of them,” she added. “So I just think she doesn’t want that anymore.” That’s more than fair, but still disappointing. Don’t give up hope yet though — filming still hasn’t started yet, and Snooki revealed that the rest of the crew has been “begging her to come back on the show” because “it’s gonna be different.” “Everyone pray that Sammi comes back,” she said, “because I feel like she might change her mind.” “Sam, if you’re listening, come to the show. Meghan Markle first rose to fame as one of the stars of the USA Network, by which mean the television channel, and not the intricate web of double agents seeking to undermine American democracy through collusion with foreign powers. Sorry for all that clarification, but you can never be too careful these days. Anyway, it’s been a big week for Meghan. She’s traded in her role on Suits for a future as a member of the royal family , which is a bit like trading in your 2002 Civic that still has a couple good years in it, but also has a Hall & Oates cassette jammed in the tape deck for, like, a horse-drawn carriage, or however royals get around. She got a good deal, is what we’re saying. But Meghan is no stranger to moving up in the world. We jest about her role on Suits , but landing a starring role on a long-running series is seriously impressive, especially for someone who was holding a briefcase on Deal or No Deal and doling out blowies on 90210 a few years earlier. Those who know MegMar best say she owes her success to her intellect, her charm, her ambition … and the fact that she’s naturally super hot. That’s a photo of Meghan that was snapped during a recent visit to her alma mater, Northwestern University. Psych! That’s a pic that was taken when Markle was a student at the school, back in 2000! Meghan hasn’t aged at all since the year 2000! To put that in perspective some of you were fetuses in 2000! You have aged considerably since then! The point is, becoming a princess is just the latest in a long line of victories for Meghan that began back when her father’s sperm fertilized her mother’s egg back in 1980, thus setting into motion a chain of events that will eventually lead to an American citizen receiving a British royal title. Sure, she’ll have to put up with some obnoxious royal rules , but that’s a small price to pay to start the process of reverse-colonization. Catelynn Lowell has been through many, many things so far in her life. Her father hasn't been around all that much, her mother was emotionally abusive when she was younger, and it's clear that she really struggled with her decision to place her daughter, Carly, for adoption. In addition to all of that, or perhaps because of it, she's had issues with depression and anxiety for much of her life. Last year, things had gotten so bad with her postpartum depression that she went off to spend a few weeks in an inpatient facility to try to get a handle on things. And a couple of weeks ago, she revealed that she'd once again be heading off to get treatment. Is she doing any better now? Read on to find out … 1. Catelynn’s Struggles In November, Catelynn shocked us all by tweeting “Well today I thought of every way to kill myself.. so I’m going to treatment.” Teen Mom fans know she struggles with her mental health, but we had no idea things had gotten this bad again. 2. So Sad She further shocked us in an official statement she released, one that read “I’m taking the time I need right now to take good care of myself… On November 17th I thought of every way possible to commit suicide… from wrapping a belt around my neck to just running my car into an electric pole… THANK GOD I have a support system and a HUSBAND and a DAUGHTER… thank god I am self aware… I’m seeking treatment and I WILL get better… anyone feeling alone you ARE NOT ALONE! This world needs all of us! We are all here for a reason… Thank you for your support during this tough time…. Much Love, Catelynn Baltierra.” 3. Off to Rehab So Tyler escorted her to a treatment center in Arizona to get a handle on things … and speaking of Tyler, can we gush about him for a moment? 4. Ready to hear more details about the vicious hate crimes MTV has committed against Farrah Abraham? Well, ready or not, Farrah has a story to tell and she won’t stop until she sees justice. To recap, our girl here announced that MTV had fired her from Teen Mom OG about a month ago, after she began masturbating on livestreams on a cam girl site. She was very angry about this, and that anger combined with whatever’s going on in that head of hers meant that her statements about the matter didn’t make much sense. But the general idea is that Farrah believes it was unfair of MTV to fire her for what she does on her own time, when she’s not filming — especially because they didn’t even actually fire her . She was given an ultimatum, and we saw that in the Teen Mom OG supertease that came out this week. In a clip that will air later in the season, she’s told that if she continues working in the adult industry, then MTV would be unable to keep her on the show. Teen Mom OG Trailer: Pregnancy Tests, Breakups, Firings, and MORE! She’s said that this was just a tactic to create drama for the show , to manipulate her into giving good footage. Or, well, she didn’t say that, because clear communication is very hard for her, but that’s what she was trying to say. We think. OK, so Farrah has been ranting on and off for the past month about how manipulative and hateful and awful MTV is, right? And it seems like seeing that clip of her being “fake fired” this week really triggered her. In a post she made on her social media accounts, Farrah wrote “Hate, sex shame, discriminate against a women & bully a women #viacom … then don’t admit your wrong.” (Go ahead and settle in, because the rest of this mess makes just about as much sense as that opener.) “#Justice will be served — Judgement day is going to hurt,” she continued. “When you suck at real story lines you contrive hatred, lies, fake ultimatums a big fail to viacom & their dip sh-ts who are followers in this horrible behavior.” And then it gets extra interesting because, after a “bitch better have my money” hashtag, she claimed that MTV owes her “a half season of money.” Does that mean that she hasn’t been filming since the pretend firing? Or that she’s been refusing to film because of all the hate crimes? It’s hard to say, but she did call MTV “the only company who can’t take what they dish out.” “Let’s not forget you had to use this clip for the entire show to get press & attention THANK YOU FARRAH & A PUBLIC APOLOGY IS OVER DUE while I’m being mistreated along the way.” That part is true — they definitely are using Farrah’s potential firing as a way to get interest in this season. Why wouldn’t they? “Again maybe I’ve out grown narrow minded bad work ethics bad producing and I for damn sure don’t treat my employees like this or insult others successful entrepreneurs like this,” she added. “Have fun making me out to be a villain when I have the cleanest record out of the entire case, crew & executives (sex,drugs,lies,manipulation…so much ADULT behavior)…” She makes a good point, because it is pretty bizarre that masturbating on the internet is the line in the sand here. On the Teen Mom franchise, we’ve seen hard drug use, domestic violence, animal neglect, child neglect … so many bad things. Stars of the show have gone to actual prison and then get welcomed back with open arms. It’s just strange that, even after they fired Farrah for her sex tape and then brought her back, the livestreams are supposed to a step too far. Here’s hoping she gets what she deserves, whatever that may be. The money for the other half of the new season of Teen Mom OG, an apology, a few English courses … just whatever she deserves, we sure do hope she gets it.
