Here is something you don’t see everyday ever. Diane Stretton (aka Monster Nanny) is a 64-year old who was fired from her position a month ago. Except, well… she refused to leave the house. She barricaded herself in her room and claimed her termination wasn’t “legal.” The family’s mother, Marcella Bracamonte, called the police, but was told it was a “civil” situation and they could not act. Now, accordion to The Daily Mail, Stretten has agreed to exit the premises by July 6 – as long as the family agrees to a list of demands. We’re not kidding. The newspaper lists the demands as follows: My WiFi and TV and house air conditioning and water must be continuously on until I vacate. Electricity in my room must be operational. Bathrooms must be stocked up with TP (toilet paper) and hand soap at all times. Marcella and kids must vacate the premises between the hours of 8am and 5pm until 7/6/14 whether I elect to leave during the day or not. Between the hours of 5pm and 8am, I have full access to my room, the garage bathroom and the areas of the house between the front door and my bedroom. I will not linger in these areas. I’m either given access to healthy food or given $200 to eat out. Said access to food shall be limited to hours between 8am and 5pm.” Neither the front door nor my bedroom shall be locked in a manner than prevents me from entering. This means the chain must be off and the locks cannot be changed. Diane, who has said the family tried to feed her dog food after firing her, concluded: “In exchanged [sic] for the above, I will agree not to seek any of my legal remedies for your past violations of our agreement.” Seems fair to us, no? A week after Courteney Cox announced her engagement to Johnny McDaid , David Arquette has gone ahead and delivered the same news: He and Christina McLarty are set to tie the knot! The actor popped life’s most important question to his McLarty in Malibu on July 2, Arquette’s rep confirms to multiple outlets. Making it a family occasion, the actor asked for the entertainment reporter’s hand in marriage during dinner with their two-month-old son, Charlie West; along with Arquette and Cox’s 10-year-old daughter, Coco. In case you somehow haven’t heard, arts and crafts retail chain Hobby Lobby was at the heart of a controversial Supreme Court decision earlier this week. Millions are outraged that the Oklahoma-based business has been permitted to cite a religious exemption from the national healthcare requirement that they provide coverage for contraceptives. Hobby Lobby Ruling: What Does It Mean? Now it seems the company may have been involved in even more scandalous practices motivated by its executives’ religious principles: Bill Gothard is a minister and home schooling advocate whose adherents include Sarah Palin and the Duggar family, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. Gothard was recently ousted as head of his own church following allegations that he harassed and molested several of his female employees. Today it’s been revealed that Gothard and the controversial fundamentalist organization he founded were funded in large part by Hobby Lobby. Gothard and the Institute in Basic Life Principles that he ran for several decades reportedly received hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and real estate from Hobby Lobby CEO David Green and his family. The Institute in Basic Life Principles was a source of controversy even before Gothard’s sex scandal, as Gothard and his fellow ministers espoused far-right fundamentalist ideas that proved too radical for many evangelicals. The deeply religious Duggars have been called TV’s most powerful family, and one of Gothard’s victims has publicly urged them to break from the disgraced minister’s institute.
