You know that kid on awards night who picks up the certificate in every possible category there? Math, science, art, underwater basket weaving? Yeah, that kid’s totally overrated. (Or a suck up.) That same thing totally happens in Hollywood with overrated movies sweeping awards season year after year. Obviously, sometimes movies are legitimately good and thus become all that anyone will talk about. This is not a rare or unreasonable phenomenon. Kelly Clarkson has finally popped. The singing sensation gave birth to a baby girl this past Thursday, her first child with husband Brandon Blackstock. “Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :),” she Tweeted. This is the first baby for the 32-year-old Kelly, who shared the news this morning. Brandon has two kids, Savannah and Seth, from his first marriage. Kelly and Brandon tied the knot in Tennessee last October. Clarkson has been very candid about her pregnancy, revealing she was having a baby girl before giving birth and talking openly about her weight. “Everybody calls me fat all the time, so I can’t wait to have a reason, instead of everybody just being a jerk,” Kelly joked after announcing her pregnancy. As for shedding the baby weight starting this week? “I’ve never been Gisele Bundchen, so ain’t nobody expectin’ that! I like to set [low] standards so people don’t expect a lot,” the star cracked. Jon Stewart isn’t even a real news broadcaster, but the Comedy Central figure is more trusted to deliver news than MSNBC, a new study found. According to a new survey by the Brookings Institution and the Public Religion Research Institute, the public trusts him more than a 24/7 news channel. Jon Stewart: Better Than MSNBC at News! The organizations did a study about immigration and the media that contained within it a broader question about which news outlet the public trusts most. Fox News came in first, as per usual; the network has been consistently named both the most and the least trusted name in news. Let’s hear it for polarization! Unfortunately for MSNBC, it was dead last, with just 5 percent of Americans saying they trusted it most … 8 percent, by comparison, chose The Daily Show . Another study showed that Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert did a better job at informing people about campaign finance issues than traditional outlets.
