Flappy Bird, the addictive mobile game that flew to the top of the iPhone and Android app downloads charts in recent months, has now flown the coop. A tweet from the creator suggested that its huge success had become a burden for him personally, despite the insane sums of money he banked. “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down,” developer Dong Nguyen wrote Saturday. “I cannot take this anymore.” What is the “this” he’s referring to? Flappy Bird Pulled Nguyen, a Vietnamese developer with a studio called DotGears, did not reply to interviews request, but has previously said that the game “ruined” his “simple life.” “It is not anything related to legal issues,” he said. “I just cannot keep it anymore.” The notoriety for creating the no-frills game, in which players steer a tiny bird through an obstacle course of metal pipes, is not something he ever sought. Although new players can no longer download “Flappy Bird,” the popular game remains playable for those who had already added it to their devices. As of last week, “Flappy Bird” had an average four-star rating from more than 543,000 reviews in the Apple App Store and 228,000 on Android. It reportedly earns $50,000 a DAY in mobile ad sales alone. As the flap over the game being taken down continues, hundreds of phones with “Flappy Bird” installed have appeared on eBay at prices up to $15,000.
Michael Sam, the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year, came out as gay tonight in interviews with ESPN and The New York Times. Simply put, “I am an openly, proud gay man,” the former Missouri defensive end say, adding: “I understand how big this is. It’s a big deal. No one has done this before. And it’s kind of a nervous process, but I know what I want to be … I want to be a football player in the NFL.” Michael Sam: I’m Gay Assuming Sam is drafted in May, he will accomplish this goal, becoming the first open homosexual to play professionally in America. “I didn’t realize how many people actually knew, and I was afraid that someone would tell or leak something out about me,” Sam said . “I want to own my truth. … No one else should tell my story but me.” Sam also said that his Missouri coaches and teammates have known about his sexuality since August. What was it like to come out to those around him at that time? “I was kind of scared, even though they already knew,” he said. Just to see their reaction was awesome. They supported me from Day One. I couldn’t have better teammates. … I’m telling you what: I wouldn’t have the strength to do this today if I didn’t know how much support they’d given me this past semester.” Last year, Jason Collins became the first active NBA player to admit he is gay. Considering his tough past in Texas – Sam saw his brother get shot; had an infant sister pass away; and has two other brothers in prison – the aspiring pro says “telling the world I’m gay is nothing compared to that.” And he’s prepared to his life to change as a result of the announcement. “I’m not afraid to tell the world who I am. I’m Michael Sam: I’m a college graduate. I’m African American, and I’m gay,” he said to conclude his ESPN interview. “I’m comfortable in my skin.”

For the first time since being publicly accused of molestation, Woody Allen has spoken out regarding his Dylan Farrow’s recent allegations. And the famous director has made it as clear as he can in a New York Times op-ed. “Of course, I did not molest Dylan,” he writes in an piece that will appear in tomorrow’s paper. “I loved her and hope one day she will grasp how she has been cheated out of having a loving father and exploited by a mother more interested in her own festering anger than her daughter’s well-being.” Last weekend, Dylan Farrow said that Allen sexually abused her as a seven-year old, detailed horrible acts he committed in the attic of her childhood home. Allen says, however, that these claims originated from Mia Farrow, Dylan’s mother, who remains bitter after the couple’s “terribly acrimonious breakup” 21 years ago. “The self-serving transparency of her malevolence seemed so obvious I didn’t even hire a lawyer to defend myself,” he writes of Mia. I naÏvely thought the accusation would be dismissed out of hand because of course, I hadn’t molested Dylan and any rational person would see the ploy for what it was.” An investigation in 1992 did not being assault charges against Allen, although official documents do hint that evidence was present… authorities simply believed it would be too traumatic for the then-seven year old Dylan to go through a trial. Allen also passed a lie detector test at the time. Mia Farrow gained full custody of her kids after her split from Allen and the latter said he and his wife, Soon-Yi, “made countless attempts to see Dylan but Mia blocked them all, spitefully knowing how much we both loved her but totally indifferent to the pain and damage she was causing the little girl merely to appease her own vindictivenes.” Dylan Farrow Slams Woody Allen as Sex Abuser Since Dylan’s letter last week, this issue has been a relevant one in Hollywood because she called out various stars (Alec Baldwin, Cate Blanchett) for continuing to work with Allen. Dylan Farrow is not backing down. A few days ago, the stepdaughter of Woody Allen accused the famous director of sexually abusing her a child – and she’s been at the center of a heated debate ever since. Barbara Walters defended Allen on The View. Moses Farrow , Dylan’s stepbrother, took the side of Allen and said Dylan is either lying or has been brainwashed by her mother. Celebrities from Alec Baldwin to Lena Dunham have voiced their opinions on the subject. “It took all of my strength and all of my emotional fortitude to do what I did this week in the hope that it would put the truth out there,” Dylan tells People in a new interview. The 28-year old, who lives under a different name, adds that she isn’t going public now for fame or fortune. “That is my only ammunition,” she tells the magazine. “I don’t have money or publicists or limos or fancy apartments in Manhattan. All I have is the truth and that is all I put out there.” A criminal investigation in 1992 did not find enough evidence to bring charges against Allen, with the director (through his reps) denying all allegations since then.
