Nicki Minaj Criticized By Mental Health Org For Posting Video Of Allegedly Mentally Ill Woman

You guys know that Nicki Minaj cares not when it comes to creating controversy. Whether she’s twerking, using Malcolm X’s picture as the single art for her single “Lookin’ A– Ni–a” or calling out people online and on stage, Ms. Minaj remains pretty unbothered. But she’s drawn some criticism for sharing this video on Instagram on Sunday: [ madamenoire ] Michelle Obama To Sit Down With Oprah For Her Last Interview As First Lady And, in a couple of weeks, First Lady Michelle Obama will sit down with Oprah for her final interview before she leaves the White House. Seeing that these two have become friends, we doubt it’ll be the last time they chat, but it will be the last time we’ll be privy to it, while Mrs. Obama holds this particular office, though I’m sure we’ll still be as interested in what she has to say once she leaves the White House, perhaps even more so. [ madamenoire ] Drake’s Views Gets Backlash For Grammy Nomination, Per Twitter The Grammy nominations are in, and plenty of people are big mad about who did or didn’t get nominated. A big chunk of the backlash is for Drake’s Views album getting an Album of the Year nomination. On paper, Views is a massive hit. It has officially gone four times platinum and has set streaming records. Nevertheless, plenty of people think it’s Drizzy’s most lackluster album. Or, a lengthy Take Care rehash. Many of the aforementioned critics, and those trolling with slander, have taken to Twitter to cry foul at Views getting put in the same atmosphere as fellow Album of the Year nominees, included Adele (25) and Beyonce (Lemonade). Ivanka Trump: Moving to D.C. Despite Promise to Stay in NYC

Remember when Donald Trump was running for president , and he promised that his kids would run his business while he focused on running the country? Remember when he assured us that his children would not be receiving White House jobs, but would instead be managing his assets, which would be placed in a blind trust? If you want to go even more recent, remember when Trump appeared on 60 Minutes , and his daughter Ivanka assured Leslie Stahl that she would be remaining in New York and not moving to Washington, D.C. in order to help keep her father’s rage-tweets to a minimum? Well, you may want to sit down for this, but it looks as though the Trump family may have lied to us! We know, you’re astonished that the guy who started his campaign by claiming the Mexican government has “forced” 34 million undocumented immigrants into the US – and who just this morning abused his power by falsely accusing Boeing of overcharging the government, seemingly because the company has expressed skepticism over his trade policies – would ever lie to you. But believe it or not, it seems that’s exactly what’s going on here. Multiple media outlets are reporting today that Ivanka her husband, Jared Kushner, have been house hunting in the nation’s capital. The potential move raises concerns for a number of reasons. Trump is mostly protected from conflict of interest laws domestically, but his continued involvement in the corporate world has raised concerns about potential negative impacts of a Trump presidency on the US economy. Trump has yet to be sworn in , but there are already concerns that the President-elect’s outraged tweets could be perceived as “stock bashing” of publicly traded companies.  Additionally, if Trump receives any income from foreign governments as a result of his overseas holdings, he may be in violation of the Constitutions emoluments clause, which would make him a prime candidate for impeachment. View Slideshow: 19 Things Donald Trump Has Actually Said While Running for President Though she was once viewed as a stabilizing force that balanced out her father’s erratic behavior during his campaign, Ivanka is now seen by many as a symbol of the business ties that threaten to further undermine the integrity of the presidency. No one in the Trump camp has spoken out about Ivanka’s potential move, which can probably be taken as their way of tacitly confirming that she really is Beltway-bound. Rashaan Salaam Dies; Former Heisman Trophy Winner Was 42

Very sad news today out of the sports world: Rashaan Salaam, a former Heisman Trophy winner and star running back at the University of Colorado, was found dead in a park new Boulder. He was 42 years old. Salaam’s body was discovered in a parking lot at Eben G. Fine Park and a 911 was subsequently placed just before 9 p.m. on Monday, per Boulder Police spokesperson Shannon Cordingly. There were no signs of foul play. But a note was found on the scene and authorities told Salaam’s mother that they believe he committed suicide. The park is not even two miles away from Folsom Field, where Salaam starred for Colorado, winning the most prestigious trophy in college athletics in 1994. That year, he rushed for 2,055 and 24 touchdowns and also won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards. He was selected in the first round a year later by the Chicago Bears and would go on to become the youngest professional running back to gain at least 1,000 yards in a season. Following a number of injuries, however, Salaam was out of the NFL by 2004. “The Buff Family has lost an outstanding young man and a great Buff today,” Colorado athletic director Rick George said after learning of the news. “We are heartbroken for Rashaan and his family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.” Added the University football team on Twitter: “We’re minus one true Buffalo today.”  Several former NFL players also paid tribute to Salaam on social media. “I will miss my Heisman brother Rashaan Salaam. He was always smiling and just a lot of fun to be around! #RIP,” wrote another former Heisman winner, Matt Leinart. Ex-NFL star Chad Brown added: “Beyond saddened to hear the news about my @cubuffs teammate and friend Rashaan Salaam. We lost a true Buffalo today.” Denver Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell was a teammate of Salaam’s and offered the following statement to ESPN: Rashaan was as dynamic off the field as he was on the field as a player. He was a fiercely loyal friend, someone who was always in your corner and had your back. He was the ultimate teammate and supportive of everyone in his locker room. If there was ever a guy who was going to get a personal foul for protecting someone on his team, Rashaan was that guy. We’ll Miss You: Unemployment Drops To 9-Year Low Under President Obama’s Administration

Unemployment Drops To 9-Year Low Under President Obama Contrary to what the Republicans would have you believe, the American economy has improved since President Obama took office. According to White House reports, unemployment dropped to a 9-year low under the current administration… The economy added a solid 178,000 jobs in November as the longest streak of total job growth on record continued. U.S. businesses have now added 15.6 million jobs since early 2010. The unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent in November, its lowest level since August 2007, and the broadest measure of underemployment fell for the second month in a row. Average hourly earnings for private employees have increased at an annual rate of 2.7 percent so far in 2016, faster than the pace of inflation. Nevertheless, more work remains to ensure that the benefits of the recovery are broadly shared, including opening new markets to U.S. exports; taking steps to spur competition to benefit consumers, workers, and entrepreneurs; and raising the minimum wage. Thanks Barry!

Justice For Walter Scott: Trial Deadlocked After One Juror Refuses to Convict White Cop

Lone Juror Refuses To Convict White Cop That Killed Walter Scott Its starting to look like there may be no justice for Walter Scott , the unarmed black man gunned down by a white South Carolina cop. The jury remained deadlocked throughout Friday after all but one juror decided on a verdict for the officer Michael Slager, who shot a fleeing Scott in the back after a routine traffic stop and it was captured in video. In the recording, Scott can be seen running with some distance between himself and Slager, when Slager simply stopped, raised his gun, and fired five shots into Scott’s back. “I still cannot without a reasonable doubt convict the defendant,” the conflicted juror eventually wrote, in a letter delivered to Judge Newman. “I cannot and will not change my mind,” he wrote. The message would provoke Slager’s defense to request that the judge rules the case a mistrial, but instead, he allotted for extra time and encouraged the panel to reach a verdict. Slager faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted,  the judge has also allowed for the jury to consider voluntary manslaughter should they fail to agree on the more serious charge.
