This is beautiful!! AJ McCarron And Katherine Webb Pick Cancer Survivor To Be Flower Girl Via HuffPo reports: Just off his selection in the fifth round of the NFL draft, freshly minted Cincinnati Bengals player AJ McCarron has made an important pick of his own. The former Alabama quarterback and his new fiancée, Katherine Webb, have chosen Starla Chapman to be the flower girl at their wedding. Starla is a 5-year-old leukemia survivor, who met McCarron in 2011 when he visited the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital to hand out presents on Christmas Eve. When they first met, reports The Post Game, Starla gave McCarron a yellow wristband inscribed with the words “Just Trust.” He vowed to wear it, bringing Starla national attention when he played with it on during the BCS national championship game in 2012. (Alabama won the game 21 – 0). According to the Alabama Media Group, it was Webb that actually popped the question to Starla, to which she responded, “Roll Tide.” Twitter/YT

The Michael Sam reality show has been indefinitely placed on hold. The former Missouri defensive end and SEC Defensive Player of the Year became the first openly gay player drafted by the NFL this month. A few days ago, he announced that he had signed on for a series with OWN that would chronicle his journey to making the team. It was a move met with criticism by those who cited Sam himself as saying he wanted to be known as just a football player, not a gay football player – and how many seventh round draft picks star in reality shows? Now, following an admission by the St. Louis Rams that they were unaware of Sam’s deal with OWN prior to choosing him and were afraid he could become a “distraction,” Sam has pulled out of the series. “After today’s meeting with the Rams, we collectively feel it is best to postpone the project,” Sam’s agent said in a statement. “This will allow for Michael to have a total focus on football, and will ensure no distractions to his teammates. “Everybody involved remains committed to this project and understands its historical importance as well as its positive message.” Michael Sam Drafted by St. Louis Rams

While the Jay Z-Solange Knowles fight may not have been funny for the parties involved, the rest of us are finding plenty of comedy in the drama. The Internet has already blessed us with a slew of hilarious Solange-themed memes , and now some ingenious Madison Avenue Don Draper-types are getting in on the act. That’s an ad for the Anya Hindmarch clutch bag Solange brought to the 2014 MET Gala…and later used as a weapon with which to bludgeon her brother-in-law. Certainly seems the brand has found a silver lining in Solange’s dark cloud of rage! The ad is funny stuff, to be sure, but we’re guessing Solange is less than amused: Solange Knowles Tantrum Check out the video above for a little insight into how the younger Knowles feels about her far more successful older sis and her husband. Yes, just mentioning Jay Z’s name to Solange is enough to earn you a dose of her now-infamous temper. We’re guessing that news anchor has never seen Solange throw a punch, or he might not be so quick to make fun. Thus far, all the press surrounding Solange has been pretty negative, but if she’s smart she’ll use her time in the headlines to rehab her image and make the public understand the difficulties that come with being overshadowed by a more famous sibling. Seems more likely, though, that she’ll just continue to burn bridges until she flames out and disappears from the entertainment world entirely. At least the downfall has been fun to watch thus far! #WhatJayZSaidtoSolange: The Best Memes 1. A Chris Brown Hook Up

From Lindsay Lohan to… Michael Sam? Let no one accuse Oprah Winfrey’s struggling television network of not being diverse. OWN announced today that that it will air a series which chronicles Sam’s journey as the first openly gay player in the NFL, with a press release describing the program as “a deeply personal, up-close look at the remarkable man at the center of this groundbreaking moment in professional sports.” Sam was drafted in the 7th round of last week’s NFL draft and will head this summer to the St. Louis Rams training camp. He still must make the 53-man roster this fall. “We are honored that Michael is trusting us with his private journey in this moment that has not only made history but will shape it forever,” Winfrey said in a statement. “I am proud of the focus on authentic storytelling in our new documentary series format. The next real-life story we follow in The Untitled Michael Sam Project promises to spark valuable, important discussion on life in America today. Acceptance and illumination start here.” ESPN cameras captured Sam receiving a call from Rams head coach on Saturday, alerting him to his selection. It was a special, raw moment: Michael Sam Drafted by St. Louis Rams Of course, it also became a controversial moment because people suck and took issue with multiple images of Sam kissing his boyfriend . Said Sam:”Like every player out there working to make a team right now, my focus is on playing football to the very best of my ability. I am determined. And if seeing my story helps somebody else accept who they are and to go for their dreams too, that’s great. I am thankful to Oprah for her support and excited to work together.” 26 Celebrities Who Are Out and Proud 1. Ellen Page Ellen Page made a major announcement in early 2014: She’s gay.
